Reviewer's comments
"It was very random and short but I liked it." - colton_gb (04-May-2021)
"Was actually expecting far more to happen inside of the level I was really let down. You walk around an atrociously textured gigantic room grabbing stuff and looking at not that weird stuff. Wolfy Regards" - Wolf7 (23-Aug-2020)
"Very short level with a few traps, enemies and some mysterious "men" made of Lara's legs. I never got to use any of the objects I found but it was kinda fun to jump off that deep pit." - alan (16-Aug-2020)
"I don't know what drugs the builder was taking But i love a free review for my count." - JoeTheCrazyGamer (25-Dec-2019)
"Another pointless level from this author. It makes me wonder if he or she just dislikes Tomb Raider and expresses that in this fashion." - Torry (30-Oct-2019)
"When I wrote a review of Destroy City, I assumed that it was a one-off and had no idea that with an average score of 1 going on 2, it marked the high point of this builder’s career and was in fact the culmination of a trilogy, the first part of which (under consideration here) presents itself heavily influenced by metaleptic minimalism, although it has to be conceded that even throwing about highfalutin’ terms like that make it difficult to hide the fact that this level is simply the result of someone placing various objects of the Coastal wad in some rooms and then proceeding to do absolutely nothing with them, at all. Like the challenge of a hard sell? This is it." - Mulf (17-Oct-2019)
"If this is what hell looks like, we might as well stay here! I'll admit that the misplaced level editor objects were amusing, standing there stupidly. Everything else is incredibly, incredibly bad. Horrible stretched textures, no atmosphere and nonexistent gameplay. Avoid!" - Ryan (12-Oct-2016)
"More or less just an atrociously made test level, that should never have seen the light of day in the public eye. That is all. So in conclusion, avoid like the plague and play something else worth more of your valuable hard-earned time." - Ceamonks890 (18-Jul-2015)
"Well, err... just played this 1 minute level and I don't know what to say. This level was pure nonsense, the highlight was a little frightning mummy appearing out of a box. You can pick up several items but you don't need them; you can finish this level by jumping in the smaller pit. Texturing was very streched and I didn't find anything of interest here, sorry." - manarch2 (20-May-2011)
"Nothing in this game disturbed me. That's why I don't give any "zero". Two alternative endings. Jumping into the small one triggers end of the level and results in getting back to main menu. This happens immediately after getting onto a square located directly above the hole. So you are not able to touch the ladder or reach bottom of the pit. Jumping into the big hole kills Lara and also results in getting back to main menu. This way of finishing the level is definitely more spectacular, especially when performed by swan dive. As long as both methods finish the level, I advise you either to use the second one, or to save the game, reload and try both endings out." - DJ Full (14-Sep-2010)
"It is not a "you're in hell" level so much as it is a "what the hell?" level. Lots of stretched, wallpapered textures with brightly colored lightbulbs define the large, boxy rooms that structure the level. Practically all the objects in the WAD file - including the dummy lara_anims and load/save objects - are scattered around for you to view. The only obstacles are some useless upside-down spikes, a boulder falling from the sky, and a very deep pit with the bottom marked as death squares just in case Lara somehow doesn't break her neck from the fall. The level ends when you approach some random hole in the ground. Under 3 minutes." - SSJ6Wolf (01-Jun-2010)
"I played a lot of debut levels, but I have hardly ever seen a work that was such a waste of time. I know it sounds like I am evil, but this questionable piece of work is an offence to the level editor." - Jerry (24-Aug-2009)
"This is very abysmal, stretched textures, pointless level along with a pointless hole in the floor. What was the builder thinking when he made this? Grade = F" - herothing (30-Jul-2009)
"I had already the "pleasure" to play Lara in Monaco, hence, I was prepared. And properly, I was not disappointed. Gigantic rooms, stretched textures, no textures at the ceiling, no Gameplay, absolutely nothing of interest, a boulder floating in the air, two superfluous Pharos Pillar, a superfluous Horsemen Gem, a few crocodiles and a wild boar. One could shoot the crocodiles and the wild boar, or one immediately ran to the level end. To put it in a nutshell: In this level is absolutely nothing what it worth to see. He is even more liquidly than water, namely absolutely superfluous." - Scottie (10-Jun-2009)
"I'll admit only booting this one up to knock it off the wishlist (ok, and for the current competition, too). What you have here is a couple of boxy and empty rooms, complete with stretched textures and oversaturation of the ambient color. To add up, you have wrong objects placed in the level, enemies popping out of thin air. I was actually surprised to come across a finish trigger! 1 minute. 09/08" - Treeble (29-Sep-2008)
"After watching Title flyby and listening funny music :-) Lara visited Satan's Temple. This temple is scary and weird. Game has stretched textures in square rooms where Lara's animation meshes points where to go. You'll meet some crocodiles, wild boar and skeletons. I retrieved the blue gem and left the area. :-)" - Oxy (29-Sep-2008)
"That was a while ago that I had to convert a level and apart from adding another notch to my belt, it isn't worth it. Even I can do this. Picking up two Pharos Pillars and one Blue gem, shooting four crocs and one boar and that is it." - Gerty (25-Aug-2008)
"I presume the 'Satan' theme derives from the face on the wallpaper'd textures, but as they're stretched beyond all recognition it's impossible to tell for certain. The rest of the level is even worse." - Orbit Dream (24-Aug-2008)
"Well, when you see during converting the TOM file that this 'level' is built from no more than 2 rooms you can have a guess that it is going to be a short one and indeed, if you give it a try, you will finish it in less than 60 seconds. If you do kill the crocodiles and look around a little more, it might take you about 3 minutes or so. Advice to the builder: It takes time and patience to build a proper level and you are not doing yourself a big favour by releasing such an initial attempt to the public." - MichaelP (23-Aug-2008)
"In the same league than the last first level I've played, it was two days ago , but in fact worse if it is possible, with nothing to do except one long jump , and killing some crocs and a wild boar if you want to. As for the rest, huge rooms with stretched textures , and useless objects scattered on the floor, even a couple of memcard_save_inv_item and Lara_holsters_sixshooters :]" - eRIC (23-Aug-2008)
"Well, two rooms and a minute of gameplay. Stretched textures and needless objects. Play this if you (like me) want to get your review count up. I wish these people would put a little more effort in building before releasing a level." - Cory (23-Aug-2008)
"A bit anxious to get a level released, eh? Well it shows through the unnecessarily big rooms, stretched textures, practically non existent lighting and gameplay. You can finish it in just under a minute, and I wouldn't really recommend it to anyone but the folks who want to see everything there is out there. If anything, it can be remembered for the use of objects which usually don't belong in a level like the memory cards and sixshooter & pole animations." - eTux (23-Aug-2008)
"Okay, we seem to have returned to the default setting for debut levels unfortunately. This is a prime example of a level that should never, ever have been released for general consumption. The only thing I can say in its favour is that it's blessedly short." - Jay (23-Aug-2008)
