Reviewer's comments
"Not much of a level in all honesty, most of what you do here is just zoom through from one room to the next in search of the next lever. You can trust me to land right on an illegal slope during the very first bat encounter of the level, and a couple of rooms later I was scratching my head: I have no idea how Yoav managed a slope jump to the upper ledge, I was always one entire click lower than the target; I then tried a different approach and what do you know, it really was nothing but an unmarked climbable surface. I liked the use of BGM from Legend and Underworld but I fear that's not enough to justify the effort. Ah, yes, the room with the pillars with several wall mounted blades was interesting, I'm not sure if there's something to the first backflip as it felt like pure trial and error. From that point onward it hardly required positioning though. 15 minutes. 06/22" - Treeble (26-Jun-2022)
"Not bad at all, and clearly a more coherent effort from this builder. There are still a few dodgy bits: missing textures, a too dark lighting and an unreasonably tricky jump to reach a higher level. But I did enjoy avoiding boulders, jumping from slopes, climbing around columns in close proximity to blades and running (well, driving) over guards with the motorbike. Short and sweet." - Ryan (21-May-2017)
"I felt this one was a little short at 20 minutes, and the collection of the apocolypse artifact could have been more dramatic. This game has a lot of dogs to take care of, and a few sas baddies to run over at the end. The gameplay included, other than the above, quite a few blade traps, pushable objects to move to the correct squares, and quite a few floor levers. More puzzles would be nice. The graphics were fairly average but did the job, perhaps some textures could line up better giving it a smoother appearance. The inside of the temple had the feel of Seth's Tomb from TR4, especially having the same music, but the textures were different, Sounds were used when some new areas opened up. I liked the look of the outdoor areas, especially the beginning, as it looked realistic. Not a bad effort, I really hope this builder will develop something new, as judging by the increasing ratings, she's getting better each time." - sonnyd83 (15-Dec-2012)
"A nice start in a conifer valley, even if there isn't anything there except doors to open. Lara back flips from pillar to pillar, with clanking blades above and below her, and this must have taken much effort to design and test. There is a promising concluding bike ride, though the author is in a haste to finish with basic scenery, obvious even when it goes by quickly on the bike. It seemed to me that the automatic machine gun at the end appeared out of nowhere, but maybe that's inherent in the editor's engine. Many cubical rooms with wallpapered textures. I've been playing cheerful unofficial levels, so here the interior dismal lighting and appearance are a little depressing. Not bad if you're used to it, but this definitely influenced my impressions. Maybe TR4 is a bad role model, as much of that game was poorly lit." - dmdibl (28-Feb-2010)
"A brief stroll through a temple embedded in some mountains. Some areas, such as the first one, seem like a waste of time because there's nothing to find besides the obvious door to the next area. Other things I had a problem with were unclear climbable surfaces and some poor lighting. Some rooms had nice, colorful lighting with a few shadows to suit the caves. However other rooms had 128-128-128 ambient lights which kills the mood. Some of the darker rooms connect directly to the lighter ones which is a weird blend. There is effort shown with textures, but some are stretched and many are squished. Gameplay is pretty straightfoward as you push blocks on pads or find the next switch for the next door (a camera for the first switch would have been nice) although the ladders with blade traps made things interesting. Lara exits on a conveniently placed bike, and while the ride is not too tricky you will be glad to have found all those large medpacks. Not a bad little run but nothing very immersing." - SSJ6Wolf (23-Aug-2009)
"A short level easy to play with a lineal gameplay. Some defects in the texturing, some times annoying cameras, I liked the musics and the final ride with the motorbike, although I couldn't find extra weapons. You begin into a natural environment, but soon you enter in the caves to deal with the enemies (bats and hound dogs) and some traps; finally, once you find the Artifact of Apocalypse you go outside to fight with a bunch of soldiers. The best for me was the final escape with the bike. Not a bad level but nothing special in." - Jose (31-Mar-2009)
"First of all I found this an inappropriate title for this level, because it has nothing at all to do with a temple. It's just room after room, some of them strangely and often repetitively textured with colourful lighting and riddled with traps which are preferentially knifes and the one or other boulder. Several big medipacks, one artifact and the uzi can be found (but no ammo). Some dogs, some bad guys and a bike-ride, that's all." - Jerry (08-Mar-2009)
"Certainly the best level from the author so far. This is a clear and neat mission for Lara, enter into a temple , survive traps , kill a few bats and hellhounds , grabbing the artefact before an escape with a custom bike at the beard of an army of soldiers and a sentry gun as well. The level is not without flaws , with some missing sounds , average looks , and you can bypass one room because the triggers for a door and for a lever have not been set up correctly. Nevertheless, and entertaining raid with neat camera views , some pleasant audio files , the highlight being the room with the many plinth blades and the finale. 18 minutes." - eRIC (07-Mar-2009)
"A quite short and linear level to go through, with some nasty traps thrown in for good measure. Especially the"green room" as that takes some doing. I held my breath when finding some medipacks in a row but luckily I didn't need them all. At the end there is a bike ride and this time I didn't mind that. Textures still can use some fine-tuning and I even saw one texture that was missing." - Gerty (05-Mar-2009)
"This was a pleasent surprise,I must say.An unpretentious but entertaining little raid, filled with fun moments (the bladed-columns sequence;the neat camera angles;the fun motorbike Finale). The builder is improving nicely, but texturing still needs work (the higher-def textures look superficially pleasing but are rather sloppily placed);shafts of light emanating from solid rock is a pointless artistic flourish;and the opening area is disapointing and only tempts the player to get unavoidably stuck or face the end-of-the-world. However,it has a good old-fashioned spirit behind it and provides 20 minutes of unnasuming enjoyment." - Orbit Dream (04-Mar-2009)
"It's always good to see a builder improving with each level released and you only need to look at review counts for Cynthia's levels to see this type of progress in action. This is a short, but far from uneventful level, with some nice little touches - especially if you like avoiding slashing blades. Personally, I particularly enjoyed mowing down a load of guards with the motorbike - very therapeutic if you've had a hard day at the office or even if, like me, you're retired but feeling a bit bloodthirsty anyway." - Jay (02-Mar-2009)
"This is actually not bad at all. A quick little 20 minute long and rather linear run through a reasonably well crafted environment, some good use of strong colours, an occasional use of fixed cameras, a bike to run over soldiers and plenty of (rather not needed) big medipacks to find. The best room I thought was the green one with the blades, which has one fairly tricky jump to it." - MichaelP (01-Mar-2009)
