Reviewer's comments
"Here you can find what is in a Cleopatra style level: the pyramid with the 4 beetles, mechanical scarab, harpies, skeletons, demigods. There is plenty of pick ups and ammo to kill these enemies. A pleasant raid." - alan (04-Jan-2018)
"This is quite a pleasant little Egyptian level. You get what you would expect in the Cleopatra's Palace setting: the Mechanical Scarab, the Black Beetle pyramid, raising blocks and the resident harpy, demigod and skeleton enemies. A nice addition was the flame tile puzzle that I can't remember seeing before. Very nice to play." - Ryan (03-Sep-2017)
"Another unremarkable early Egyptian level that looks good and is fun to play while leaving no lasting impression in your mind. Your goal is to find the crowbar and then go looking for four beetles to collect so you can obtain the winding key scarab to trigger the spikes in the final corridor. It's all rather pedestrian for the 30 minutes that it lasts, but the lighting is good and the surroundings are pleasing to the eye. If you take delight in blowing things up, you get the grenade gun as well as the crossbow that you can use to send pieces of skeletons flying across the room. For the first time, I believe, I used an illegal slope for a positive purpose, as I could find no other way to jump to the top of a sand dune near the end. A nice little time-killer." - Phil (04-Nov-2016)
"A very straightforward level in which you get to gather four scarabs and get the the little scarab toy. Enemies were a few skeletons, demigods and harpies. There are a lot of godies to gather and which you do not need. All in all this is an easy level recommended for those who like Cleopal levels and has 40 minutes to spare." - Gonxii (14-Nov-2015)
"I rather liked the moody lighting in the initial outdoor area of this level; it felt quite atmospheric. Essentially, this is a shortish Cleopal style level, with the usual skeletons and harpies, four beetles to find etc. You know the drill. It's not bad, competently built and passes the time well enough." - Jay (24-Sep-2015)
"For some reason, this short level was not so bad for me, even when the enemies are not well balanced and there are many huge and empty rooms with nothing to do. The textures are well applied, and also it notices an effort applying shadows here and there (strange effect of a shadow in the black pyramid room). There is also a good use of the cameras and sounds, and enough ammo to shoot the enemies. I didn't like the location of the crowbar lying in the middle of the floor, and the backtracking to get all the scarabs (no much) too. There is also an original puzzle with fires. Not a jewel but playable." - Jose (26-May-2015)
"This is a classic raid with a bit of Cleopatra's Palace look and feel, spacious rooms and uncomplicated game play. I found the architecture and a little sterile, but the lighting was excellent. Especially the outside area in the beginning had some good light and shadow effects. Lara has to collect four beetles to place on the pyramid and while doing so encounters a demigod, a couple of harpies and some skeletons. The fire puzzle was a nice treat and so was the mechanical scarab. A solid, yet simple level for someone who wants to play along in a fairly relaxed atmosphere and enjoy the roots of level editor (28min, 0 secrets found)" - Blue43 (04-Apr-2011)
"For such an ancient level, this provided me with more entertainment than I was expecting. In the early days of Level building,'Levelzentrum' were responsible for many straightforward but capably constructed and entertaining little adventures. This particular example is probably the most representative of their output, as it contains generally well-constructed areas, occasionally imaginative gameplay and smooth and entertaining progression. There are weaknesses,of course, but none that cripple the level;and when you encounter the nifty 'flame puzzle',or the visually spectacular flipped room, then you can easily forgive this small adventure's weaknesses. I'm regretful that there are no more Levelzentrum adventures remaining for me to play;I can only reccommend that you try them for yourself." - Orbit Dream (21-Nov-2008)
"Another old level and this one is built on a Cleopal-wad environment. It's pretty interesting but it doesn't have anything you've never seen before - a quest for the four beetles to open the pyramid and get the mech scarab in order to disarm traps. You can easily reach the end of the world on the first few areas not much else to say I guess. Oh yes there's one trigger beneath one of the beetles so be careful to active it I had to retrace my steps back to find it eventually and speaking of retracing steps yes you will have quite some backtracking to do here. There was one puzzle with flames and one other which didn't seem to make much sense for me with raising blocks. 35 minutes. 11/04" - Treeble (13-Nov-2004)
"This is your average Egyptian level. No surprises at all. It's a short level with just thirteen minutes of gameplay. There aren't many enemies or puzzles. The texturing is okay and so is the lighting. Nice short average." - Magnus (29-Jan-2004)
"Another level I liked. Don't much care for the red rock/sand textures but apart from that it's not badly done with cleopatra/tut textures. First off we've to deal with golden harpys and a demigod guarding the entrance to the tomb. Then inside rooms with different tasks to perform which I liked the raising/lowering block room the stepping on tiles to put out fires room dealing with skeletons all to get four beetles. I passed one of those beetles a few times before I saw it. In this level taking a beetle performs another task that was good. Yeah not bad at all for such a tiny download." - CC (25-Jan-2004)
"Another little nicely built level by Levelzentrum this time in the Cleopatra style. Linear in gameplay it's the quest for the four beetle shells. Starts off a bit bland (everything you need is just lying around in rather clear view) but then it gets better as soon as there is some not too tedious searching/running around to do. Enemies like in the other God-levels by Levelzentrum are placed without much imagination. All in all again a nice level to play in between difficult/big ones. Why you should play this level: there is one (not difficult) rather original 'put out the fires'-puzzle." - bERT (14-Jul-2003)
"A nice adventure although typical. A cleopal setting with the four beetles to collect and a pillar. Many jump switches and a couple or more raising blocks. I liked the puzzle with the fire tiles although too easy as have to try hard to catch fire. A harpy a demigod and skeletons are enemies to be found here. The rooms are a little big and there is some swimming involved. Give it a try." - Kristina (23-Dec-2002)
"A nicely played out level with a few jump switches to find on your quest for the 4 beetles to get the mechanical scarab with winding key. Some nice puzzles in this one one with fire squares to pull a jump switch and a raising block puzzle that was quite fun. Along the way you'll only deal with 2 harpies and a demigod and later a couple of skeletons. More than enough pick ups to be had but this was a fun level with nice atmosphere which took me 45 minutes to play." - Momster (15-Nov-2002)
"Well bearing in mind that this is a Cleo adventure (which I generally don't like that much) I was pleasantly surprised and by and large enjoyed the 40 minutes it took me to reach the end. Some rooms are a bit boxy the enemies seem to be placed at random and texture-wise it is all a bit plain but I the cavernous area where you find the raising blocks was quite beautifully done. There are heaps of jumps many jump switches a puzzle with fire tiles that won't let you die and I always appreciate it when the crowbar is not too cleverly hidden. There are a few neat camera angles the cut scenes are well done and as they always give you helpful hints the pace here is pretty fluent. Nothing out of the ordinary here but worth a try nevertheless." - Dimpfelmoser (24-Oct-2002)
"The aim of this good sized level is to find 4 beetles that will eventually allow you to obtain a mechanical beetle, the journey to find them is full of fun, there are a couple of evil enemies, nicely thought of puzzles, and a really great look, and to think that you can get all this with a 2 second download, you just can't go wrong!" - Sash (21-Jun-2002)
"This 30 minutes adventure starts in an outside area (where you easily reach the 'end-of-the-world') and you soon meet up with a demigod and two banshees. It subsequently takes place inside in sometimes huge and nicely designed rooms where you will find lots of weaponry and a few wall levers that bring you forward as well as a handful of skeletons. Again fire is used nicely and of course there is the inevitable black pyramid with the four black beetles as well as the mechanical scarab to be used." - Michael (21-Jun-2002)
"I liked this level a lot; it has good difficulty not too many enemies tricky jumps and interesting puzzles. I liked the fire puzzle the most but I won't say how to solve it. It's an original puzzle. The downsides in the level are the outdoor room in the beginning since there is no sky for the cleopal wad. Also the sand texturing looked freaky and not very real." - Yonatan (21-Jun-2002)
"At the beginning of this level you'll find yourself standing outside of Cleopatra's Palace. Your objective is to make your way inside and find the four scarabs in order to gain access to Cleopatra's throne room and the treasures. The textures have been used very well to create a palace worthy of the great Queen herself. A few guards have been place around the palace to protect her treasures but are easily taken care of and you are on your way again. I enjoyed the nice blend of activity and puzzles. The fire puzzle and the raising block puzzle were fun and not ones I see that often. Overall an easy level but lots of fun and adventure and worth downloading." - RaiderGirl (21-Jun-2002)
"Installing PRJ files is easy you only need to know how to do it and well worth it as the download only takes seconds. This was a very enjoyable level to play. Main goal is finding the four beetles to get the mechanical one. You start outside and by finding loads of ammo the uzi and revolver you know something will happen. And of course it does although you don't need all that firepower. The grenade launcher is handy for the few skeletons. Once inside look for wall levers they are bit hard to spot. The fire puzzle is a new one and I also had fun jumping that block puzzle both are not that hard to figure out. Came upon a funny looking maze but even that is not so hard. Although there are not many enemies I kept Lara on an instant alert expecting around every corner some nasty enemies. 25-05-2002" - Gerty (21-Jun-2002)
