Reviewer's comments
"I think the very first jump might have been the trickiest of the lot, especially because you don't see where you're supposed to land, but for all the others manarch has provided very helpful tips to get you to the end. Not much else to it, really. 5 minutes. 12/23" - Treeble (30-Dec-2023)
"A nice tutorial on complex moves but it should specify you need to glitch in a certain point, because I assumed it's illegal and wasted 15 minutes trying to do it glitchless. Having collected a very good secret, we move from the single good room to a single draft room and then finish so I can't really give any high marks, however I noted I still felt good here due to correct lighting - I think we didn't have this in the previous one, did we? So it's nice to see progress, I hope the builder aims at something serious now and as we wait for it I'll recommend this level in the meantime - play it for science, just be in the right mood for it." - DJ Full (17-Jul-2019)
"This pretty much amounts to an assault course designed to test every inch of Lara's jumping abilities and then some, like a lot of Japanese levels. This really wasn't my cup of tea although some players do like this type of gameplay, so this'll be right up their alley. The jump backwards and twist from a ladder was a bit unfair as you had to rely on a bug move and the jump across to the curtain area and subsequent bike jump also took me quite a few tries. The surroundings are plain and sparse and there are few objects to speak of. If you like this kind of thing then have a go, but that's all it amounts to." - Ryan (15-Jun-2018)
"This is not a level that I enjoyed, pixel perfect jumps, a nasty backwards jump from a ladder that you had to make 3 times if you want also the pick-up in between the trees. With a nasty fixed camera as an extra. So by all means, give it a go if you like figuring out how and where to go. Not my cup of tea." - Gerty (20-May-2015)
"This is essentially a death course of tricky jumps (with some minor puzzle elements). The jumps are decent enough, although I didn't like one that was made hard solely due to a fixed camera. There's technically a Venice Back to Basics theme, but it's so abstract it could be anything, and there's no detail or coherence to really sell it as something set in another world, the lighting and objects are also pretty random (a couple used as gameplay spice aside). It's fun enough for a short series of sado-masochistic challenges, and you could do much worse, but you could also do much better." - Mman (09-Feb-2014)
"A very short level with a total of 18 jumps to master. Took me all but 26 minutes to get through (net gaming time just under 9 minutes, including killing the demigod with pistols). And yes most of the jumps are tricky, but for a seasoned raider should not be too bad to master. Here is my record of how many attempts I needed for each one of them:
#1 around first corner: 5 tries
#2 twist and turn from ladder: 7
#3 fixed cam jump to alcove: 2
#4 to the shotgun: 1
#5 ladder again: 2
#6-9 zip line and three fire tiles: 7
#10, 11 invisible platform: 1
#12 corner to corner: 3
#13-15 to the shore: 2
#16, 17 towards bike: 1
#18 bike jump: 1
So not too bad, compared with some of the real Japanese levels out there ... still - this brief intermezzo is just for those who want to warm up their skills a bit and then move on to something else." - MichaelP (17-Nov-2013)
"This is a strange mixture of a level. It looks like the work of a beginner and plays like a level designed by an experienced (and very possibly Japanese) builder. It's not long, but trying to master a couple of the jumps stretch it out considerably as they are quite fiendishly challenging. I admired the ingenuity, but can't really say I enjoyed being quite that challenged. I think my patience threshold is set a bit low for multiple attempts at jumps." - Jay (16-Oct-2013)
"If you are feeling confident and patient and up for a bit of a knuckle-crunching challenge then step right up. This is the level for you. The net game time is short. Maybe 15 minutes maximum, but you could spend a while rehearsing the precise moves before mastering them. Progress through this level requires the use of a couple of tricky manoeuvres which aren't exactly standard fare. If you are not an expert, then refer to manarch's walkthrough for some tuition on these moves. Visually the room design is pretty sparse, mainly designed to accommodate the gameplay tasks rather than for creating an interesting environment. To be fair, the level doesn't pretend to be more than that, and succeeds in presenting a short series of challenging tasks, that if they were used in a more traditional level, would probably be considered unfair, cryptic or frustratingly hard gameplay. As a sadistic trial of player Versus game engine, it's kind of fun." - EssGee (13-Jul-2013)
"I enjoyed myself quite a bit in the builder's second level, which is at least gameplaywise a clear improvement over his debut. Be warned - as the builder states this is nothing for beginners and none of them will ever see the large water hall because in the first minute of the game, you have to do a curve jump around a corner and an extremely time and nerves consuming ladder jump (what I'd call one of the most challenging jumps ever), which IMO is pretty unique with the pole helping you to enter the alcove. Afterwards the difficulty decreases a bit but the fun remains - the zipline ride with the following timed run was fun as well as the following puzzles concerning invisible tiles and deadly tiles. At the end you could enjoy a short but still demanding motorbike ride. Lookwise, I think the library area and in general lighting were rather decent but the large hall looked a bit grey and dull, textures were wallpapered. But play this level for the creative gameplay and not for the looks. Found no secrets during the 4 minutes (but to manage all the tasks, it will take much longer!). Next time care a little more for the looks and maybe also create a longer level. Recommended if you're tired of levels with standard tasks, and waiting for a new level from this builder - this level showed he definately has talent." - manarch2 (25-May-2013)
"If you enjoy pixel-precise jumps and gameplay which involves the use of tough and buggy moves (that jump/twist/curve/roll to the alcove will undoubtedly separate the men from the boys)then this incredibly short but devious little game will suit you perfectly.Everyone else will look at the wallpapered textures, use DOZY and be entirely unimpressed;but for the expert player who resists the temptation to cheat,it actually provides a fun and concentrated four minutes." - Orbit Dream (25-May-2013)
