Reviewer's comments
"I actually liked this homage to the new Lara and yes, the saves had been turned off which just meant you had to be cautious with every step. I liked the longbow animations although I never used it in battle. Far too slow and Lara's new look was true to the new image of her so kudos for that." - Torry (11-Oct-2019)
"Very short at just under 5 minutes, this barely qualifies as a demo. I didn't mind the removal of the save feature in this game as it was so brief, but in a longer level I would have been sorely ticked off. This isn't bad to look at, and the brief jump sequence and the end fight added a slight frisson to the proceedings, but I still left quite underwhelmed." - Ryan (14-Jun-2018)
"Again a level under with a duration under 10 minutes. No possibility to save the game but it is not a problem though there is a few jumps to perform and some enemies to kill. The builder should have done something to present better looks and the lighting is totally absent." - eRIC (16-Aug-2017)
"A rather atmospheric cave with an attention-drawing wall painting is followed by an always working opportunity to treat a nasty pack of enemies with some explosives, but in general the design is really, really crude and simple. Never again dare you disable saving in a level of this kind." - DJ Full (25-Jan-2016)
"Non a mini adventure, but a very mini adventure. When I realized I couldn't save the game I thought: "I'll play only until I die". Fortunately I was able to finish the game in one shot without saving. Very simple architecture, no puzzles, some enemies to shoot, some jumps over slopes and no more. Very poor to be released." - Jose (20-Aug-2014)
"There are not many gameplay, it is too short to be a complete level. What's more, I found there is no real puzzles. the best part was the 'cave' exploration at the beginning Few enemies, only one bat two mercenaries, three wolves and a snake. No musics, a strange sound played when lara was poisoned. No real effort with textures and lighting. I think this author should take time to create a level, and pay attention to his gameplay/textures. 3mins is not enough even for a demo. You need to be patient and don't give up then you'll improve.^^" - Angel_K (08-Apr-2014)
"The gameplay is pretty simple the only difficulty is the fact that there is no possibility to save. The textures are wallpapered but there is some shadows in the corners. This is a short level who can be finished in 5 minutes, there is a good variety of enemies but I did not find any secrets. At first, when I tried to catch the bow, the skeleton has prevented me from taking it." - Quentin (12-Mar-2014)
"I rather liked the 'no save' modification,as it lent a degree of suspense to what would otherwise have been a somewhat rudimentary level-playing experience. It's not that badly constructed, but it IS extremely simplistic despite a fairly tense enemy confrontation Finale.Five minutes of fast and straightforward raiding, from an increasingly easy to recognise builder." - Orbit Dream (09-Mar-2014)
"The 'Save'-ferature is disabled here and it'as not needed at all. The cave-like environment in the beginning shows rock-textures monotonously spread all over the walls, no atmosphere, lightning doesn't take place. Well, a sleelping snake, a bat can be shot and a crossbow be found - just to mention the highlights of the first half of the game. After some jumps and picking up explosive ammo we at last reach a dull, waste area again with tedious texturing to shoot some wolves and two bad guys. One of them will leave the item that allows us to return to desktop. There is no obligation to publish every finger-exercise done with the editor." - Christian (09-Mar-2014)
"I don't understand the naming of these set of levels 'Hollywood mini adventures'. Has Lara teleported into various movie sets for example, we can only guess. The level is incredibly short at 5 minutes which is annoying as I like to get stuck into a level. The setting is reminiscent of a coastal village level, and the first half is better than the second in terms of texturing and atmosphere. The last room contains a sort of puzzle where you have to find your way up to a higher level and get the artefact. This area also contains most of the level's baddies too, shame it lacks any atmosphere as it'd be enjoyable otherwise. It's not good, but it's ok." - sonnyd83 (08-Mar-2014)
"Normally I refuse to play games that don't offer a save function, but this is such a short, easy level that saving really isn't necessary. It's impossible to rate it highly for gameplay, given the extreme lack of such, but it looks rather nice and I'd like to see a longer, more sophisticated level from this builder. As it stands, this barely warrants the category of 'demo'." - Jay (07-Mar-2014)
"Yet another (very) mini adventure that is kind of well intended and yet so poorly executed that it falls short in being a Level one would recommend to others to play. Some good objects and a nice Lara model used to give an ever so slight resemblence to the Reborn Survivor Lara, but it is all over so quickly in about 5 minutes that you may not even notice that the save feature has been disabled..." - MichaelP (07-Mar-2014)
"I played this level for the purpose of writing a walkthrough. Ten minutes later, with walkthrough written, I was shaking my head in disbelief. Even with the save feature disabled this was a walk in the park for me, and I feel the builder should have taken the time to give us more gameplay. I agree with the other reviewers that this mini adventure is the weakest of the bunch, but I would also observe that the builder has potential and should keep working on his skills." - Phil (06-Mar-2014)
"The level starts of with Lara descending into a pool of water which is then, followed by a bat attack. After that...there's not much else to do other than traverse through multiple tunnels and ladders. I did get a little hopeful when the tunnels opened up to a larger room filled with a seemingly dangerous floor below. I couldn't tell if it was deadly or not, since there wasn't a save or load function, so; I wasn't to keen on finding out. I will say, the last room with the wolves and two gunmen were kind of fun but that's about it. There should've been more things to do as running around isn't really exciting nor does it make for fun entertainment. The audio was also missing as well, which destroyed any atmosphere left. Texturing was a bit crude and could've been applied a bit more nicely. Lighting was almost absent with everything being dull excluding the second to last room. Overall, the game needed much more put into it and left me feeling confused as to what just happened. Difficulty - Easy (Save & Load function prohibited), Time - 5-15mins, Secrets - 0/?." - Larabiker301 (06-Mar-2014)
"This builder must be a fan of making short and dull- looking levels, because this release seems to continue in that tradition to the greatest degree from its predecessors. This time around though, we find ourselves playing as TReboot Lara as she struggles to escape an area, which I believed at first, to be an attempted recreation of the opening level from the 2013 reboot, with similar-looking objects and even a blatant texture ripped straight from the game placed in the starting room. But as I progressed further in, it turned out not to be the case. After getting through an unnecessarily tough room(since the builder decided to disable saving in this levelset for some reason?), which is filled with sliding ledges surrounded by what I assume to be dried-up lava, eventually leads us to the slaughter of some guards and out-of-place wolves before retrieving an artifact to unlock a door and sliding down into a dark cave, ending in a rather anticlimactic way much like the builder's previous outings and leaving us wondering what we were trying to achieve to begin with. At this point, I'm starting to wonder if MBog is actually taking notes on what didn't work in his previous releases to heart, as not many of the issues have been fixed whatsoever. The lighting is an improvement from Alien Escape however and the inclusion of a custom jumping animation, helps add a bit to the feeling of playing more like Lara from the 2013 reboot. Unfortunately, much like previous releases, the game is far too short and doesn't really offer much for the average player in the long run. Once you've beaten the game, you'll probably forget about it and toss it into the bin. Truly hoping that MBog releases a levelset that's actually long and substantial next time, as constantly churning out short and uneventful levels won't ensure that many players will bother to pick up and play them in future." - Ceamonks890 (06-Mar-2014)
"I'm sorry, this is my least favourite level of this builder so far. Wallpapered textures, simple geometry, boring tasks. The inability to save makes things worse, not because of the enemies (which aren't that much of a threat, only if you use the crossbow ;)) or the lava room which is rather easy, but mainly because of a nasty illegal slope in the last room I immediately got stuck in, and at this point I shamelessly used the fly cheat to get out of there. The builder should definately spend more time in building, because those rushed efforts really don't really add anything to his reputation. 4 minutes, not recommended." - manarch2 (06-Mar-2014)
"At the start there already is a big NO, DO NOT disable the savedgames. Reason for me to play TR is that there are no save crystals and one can save everywhere and at anytime. So that alone deducts points big time. For the rest I had to restart the game a few time and it gets really boring real fast, so I was in a very foul mood when I finished this." - Gerty (06-Mar-2014)
