Reviewer's comments
"Cheat day? Cheat day, indeed. I'm slowly chipping away at my 2006 raidlist (exactly 8 releases to go as I write this), among which are at least two week-long features, so I figured I'd indulge myself to a couple of short releases before delving into the next one and this came up. It almost feels like something I'd release in 2001 — but the author at least got a jump switch and a door. Absolutely no sound or lighting effects as you just climb to the top of a few stacked rooms. 3 minutes. 10/23" - Treeble (29-Oct-2023)
"Very much a test, and the builder has since released an improved second effort so I'd rather you played that one, as this is very tame by comparison. At least the enemy attacks were strategically placed." - Ryan (22-May-2017)
"Short level, but I believe this author is working on a great level and everyone is gonna like it. This presents a bit gameplay, you climb up the ladders, pull a switch, and shoot some bad guys. No atmosphere, sounds or cameras at all. I believe that author is working on that too. For lightning and textures I would give it a 0 but, it had some texturing." - Nicky (26-Apr-2015)
"One of the shortest levels I've ever played. No much to said about it: pull a switch to open a door, shoot some baddies and climb some ladders. That's all. I don't know the reason why the stretched textures in the final rooms or the missing sounds, but I expect this author can build larger and better levels in the future." - Jose (02-Apr-2015)
"Depending on your internet connection, this little level could well take you longer to download than to play. It's most definitely on the shorter side of a demo, at less than three minutes, and you get to pick up a load of ammo, climb several ladders and shoot three baddies. Just when you look to be entering an interesting outside area, it ends. So - hard to judge really. It's got a definite rough around the edges debut look to it and some missing sound files, but it's not entirely horrible and I'd like to see what this builder can do with something a bit more substantial." - Jay (06-Feb-2015)
"Very short level (7 or 8 pieces), 2 enemies, 1 jumpswitch and some ammunition. This is a good start but why the author did not try to extend a bit even if it was in simplicity. The textures are not fully seated, especially above the doors but we must begin and I trust him for the next level. It lacked a lot of sounds, I can advise him to spend his wad with Magplus software (SFXManager >> http://forum.trle.net/viewtopic.php?f=4&t= 28149) to recover all missing sounds." - Drakan (26-Jan-2015)
"Well, apparently this is a debut level and it behaves as such. Granted, this level was pretty short for the usual 'debut.' However, constructive criticism is needed here to further develop the author's talents in building a successful level for release. One, the level in general was nice and short, but the only thing you were able to do was shoot and run...and climb. You have to stop from this with a little switch to find but after that, it's the same thing and then the level ends. The enemies are composed of a two-gunned baddy and a machine gun wielding baddy. The atmosphere wasn't to well ableit, the lighting was completely absent. Textures were stretched and squashed alike. Overall, I hope the builder got some experience out of building this level and reading these reviews 'cause the potential for good levels are always there and I can't wait to see what this builder can come up with yet." - Larabiker301 (25-Jan-2015)
"Another bad debut level that simply shouldn't have been released in its current state, including boringly simplistic gameplay, flat texturing/lighting, empty boxy environments with very little objects or enemies used and absolutely no in-game sound effects whatsoever, ultimately leading to a completely forgettable experience overall(and before you all ask, there actually is a finish trigger within the level itself). So I don't get what Michael's going on about there. But anyway, hopefully with the alluded to larger levelset mentioned in the readme, we'll start to notice some gradual improvement from this builder in future, but I suppose we will just have to wait and see on that front. As it is however, I simply cannot recommend this to anyone as its simply far too short and insubstantial in content to classify it as something worth playing, beyond those who are serious completionists." - Ceamonks890 (24-Jan-2015)
"This is a very basic level. A few rather boxy rooms, three baddies, and the smallest bit of platforming. Nothing really to see or do; just shoot your way to the end. There is also no sound beyond the ambient music. Not really worth downloading to play, but I hope the author got something out of the experience." - Xela (24-Jan-2015)
"Gameplay & Puzzles: Almost nothing. No puzzles and almost no gameplay. The one jump sequence and the ability to use some triggers is just barely enough to get a point. Enemies, Objects & Secrets: A bit of fun with shooting few enemies with some weapons, a few fitting objects. No secrets. Atmosphere, Sound & Cameras: There is not enough to have atmosphere here, sounds and cameras are missing, it's really a zero. Lighting & Textures: At least a bit of not totally bad texturing, but no lighting. Total: 1/10, a total fail." - Rambo (24-Jan-2015)
"A three minute long debut release that shows the use of some initial basic steps in the editor and does not even have a finish trigger. Probably would have better stayed within the local drawer of first attempts on the builders PC, but she claims she is working on a bigger and better level to come, so we will see what she will have in store for us then." - MichaelP (23-Jan-2015)
"Playtime = three minutes. Take some munition, climb and kill some enemies. Stretched and compressed textures. Pity about the download time and the time of installation." - Eelkemama (23-Jan-2015)
"A very short debut that even with its few minutes of playtime became a little tedious for the rather repetitive box/ladder climbs and otherwise there is really nothing to do here. Room construction and texturing is absolutely simple, the lighting is completely absent (which really works badly with the choice of textures, giving this level an almost ugly look), and the last glimpses of atmosphere are killed by the complete lack of sound save for a boring background audio. There's really much, much more to do else than creating a map that takes longer to complete, so please don't rush in releasing a level like this one again. And there is actually a finish trigger that I found after two minutes." - manarch2 (23-Jan-2015)
"Very much a test by a fledgling builder.Missing sounds;no lighting;textures which need more work..but the enemies were placed well enough. Now try making something more substantial." - Orbit Dream (23-Jan-2015)
"This level was really short (2-3min) textures from TR5 were repetitive, compressed, or stretched, objects were not various. It feels really empty. The level seems to be some big rooms textured with the "texture wall", "texture ceiling" and "texture floor"buttons. I did not see any work on lighting, it looks really flat. I would recommand the builder to take his time to make a level, choose carefully his textures, objects, sounds (here there are missing sounds), to make a gameplay with some exploration, something to do. Here it was not good in term of gameplay. There are a lot of tuto about the editor in internet, please take time to read it." - Lara_Fox_Croft (23-Jan-2015)
"This is indeed rushed and incomplete, but not totally. The only thing done totally wrong is completely silent sfx. The rest is surely a testing ground however unexpectedly successful in certain points. Textures aren't that stretched and they still resemble a kind of base. There is some gameplay, which, despite the absent plot, shows symptomes of three-segment structure: a short intro in form of weapon preparation phase; elongation by climb fight; the eventual ending with classic rewarding sight. I somehow didn't have a problem with the final trigger (the level nicely jumped back to the title - was there a hidden update?), though I'm sure the finish place wasn't right - considering that last location is fully built and stands out among the rest being just corridors, why not let Lara at least explore it a bit? Maybe in the next game. SUMMARY: A fast beginner level, as enjoyable as most of other fast beginner levels, but also kinda promising. Take time and do better." - DJ Full (23-Jan-2015)
"Short and sweet (or something like that). Lighting is rather flat and textures could use some attention. Paperthin wall at then end. Oh well, most of them are beginners mistakes." - Gerty (23-Jan-2015)
