Reviewer's comments
"A birthday gift, even simple, is instant good vibes, no different with this level - tho midway I forgot about it as half of duration is underwater mazes, so a map graspable in five minutes took me over an hour, and I guess not many players save from the birthday girl will enjoy it. Of good things, I noticed a nice twist with title music so I see potential for some art from this builder in the future." - DJ Full (29-Nov-2023)
"This level is comprised of huge, boxy, wallpapered rooms, so players are probably not going to find too much immersion here. Gameplay is mostly exploring large mazes both on foot and underwater, in search of five gems, which can be rather tiring. However there are also a few boulder traps, darts, and enemies to engage the player. I must give props because for all the things the level may be lacking, camera cues were not among them; those were quite helpful in this adventure. I would only recommend this level to players who get a great deal of enjoyment out of exploring mazes. 34 minutes." - JesseG (24-Oct-2020)
"I don't want to discourage this builder, but not a good debut for me. The architecture is very simple and the textures walpapered and stretched; not well balanced enemies but too many in few places; the secrets are reasonabily well hidden, and the musics and cameras were the best of the level. The worst, the nasty underwater maze where is very easy to miss something and forces the continuous backtracking. Where are the objects? All the rooms are very empty. I think this author should think about spending more time with the architecture, texturization and puzzles, ornate the rooms and the level could be much better. There is potential here. Encouragement!" - Jose (31-Dec-2019)
"It is a labyrinthine level, and the submarine maze will be done several times because it will always be missing something to move forward. The texturing is very average with many textures packed or stretched. I felt a great pleasure when I arrived at ... the end. I found 3 horseman's gem but I did not know where to place them, until I finally found this key (but it was still missing 2). For lovers of labyrinths." - Drakan (25-Oct-2019)
"It’s a sweet idea, to make a level as a birthday present for his/her sister and it certainly begins in a quirky manner. Unfortunately, the level itself is not nearly as memorable as the opening and does involve quite a lot of backtracking. Mostly it’s a case of running around, throwing switches, shooting ninjas, swimming and generally finding gems. It’s not unpleasant and certainly nice and bright and should be within just about any raider’s scope – just don’t expect to be dazzled." - Jay (15-Oct-2019)
"Even more maze like than the recently released Maze... here here and there are a few nice things in every category - but in the end it just wasn't that enjoyable. I liked how the paths come together in this game at times and room connections are interesting, but honestly why are there so many (mostly underwater) mazes? Some of the five gems are also easily missed because the builder does not lead players fairly through this level although there are hints here and there. This can cause you to explore the level upside down many times and distances are very long here. The enemies are aptly placed, except of some popping up out of thin air. Object design is almost non-existent and rooms are very empty; some of the secrets, however, are nicely hidden. The atmosphere is not very realistic with very randomly built areas, the cameras and sounds are more agreeable here and I also think the builder did a better job in lighting than in texturing, save for a few rooms with no lighting at all. The textures are very amateurishly placed though and perhaps the builder should divide the large rooms into smaller ones and also learn about wall segmenting to have less streched textures. Anyway not a horrible start in the raiding career and I hope that the builder's sister liked this little gift. Finished in 35 minutes." - manarch2 (05-Oct-2019)
"As is often the case, I have mixed feelings about this one. The thing about it that I'll probably remember the longest is the offbeat title screen and the unique opening theme music. But then the gameplay starts, and it goes a bit downhill from there. To give credit where credit is due, you get a fairly complicated raid of a bit more than an hour, with a generous six secrets thrown in, and the lighting is such that a flare is never needed, but the gameplay itself is rather mundane and unimaginative. Lots of pulling of levers and going back through previously explored territory to find open doors, etc. No enemies are in sight except for ninjas and bats, but the provided weaponry is sufficient to deal with them. I did a rewrite of the walkthrough, because the sixth secret documented in the video can be found much earlier in the game. Not a barn burner by any means, but definitely worth playing if only for the pleasantries evoked during those first few seconds." - Phil (04-Oct-2019)
"A humorous title, but actually the raid itself is fairly traditional and not without its moments. There's nothing here to tax the experienced player too much (although the spike and boulder traps might catch out the unwary), but it progresses quite nicely throughout and is never wholly boring which is a plus. You also get a nice variety of secrets to go for and well placed enemies to keep you on your toes, and I thought that the camera work and audio usage were quite neatly done. The surroundings could have been more refined, though, as I thought that the textures were patchily applied throughout and they became a bit tiring to the eyes after some time. As a whole, it may not overwhelm you, but there are worse choices to make if you search for a playable, medium length level that won't frustrate you too much. Not bad." - Ryan (04-Oct-2019)
"1h10 spent to explore a couple of big areas with a complex underwater maze under the first one and again underwater passageways below the second in the search of five horseman gems and a key. There is a lot of swimming , also some climbing / shimmying and a few easy boulders to avoid. It is easy to miss one of the 5 gems and exploring again and again for the elusive 5th gem , more secrets were found and registered (found 5 secrets , maybe there is more than 5 but at least i had the satisfaction when hitting the finish trigger to leave the place without any door unopened). Enemies are ninjas and a few bats (also small scorpions and a swarm of little beetles if you fall into an optionnal area). This new builder has no problem of skill concerning audio triggering and flybys ; for room design and texturing it is another story as the textures can be very stretched and 'wallpapered', and only a few textures have been used. The interest of this level is the exploration challenge to find the 5 gems and the key , if you are into that type of raiding." - eRIC (24-Sep-2019)
