Reviewer's comments
"Another level filled with meaningless symbolism which gives you a bad headache as you make progress. Judging from the textures used, I'm certain that the author is keen on anime characters. Unfortunately, I failed to get the whole point of this raid. Thanks." - Mehrbod (28-Mar-2022)
"Another anodyne level, made with a series of connected cubes with very elongated textures (except the new textures created by the author). The gameplay is quite bad, with unmarked fire traps, unmarked spike traps and even unmarked ladders; you'll need to pick up objects with no hints to open a door, for example; the pushables "puzzle" is obscure too, and near the end there is a bug when Lara wants to grab a wafer thin ceiling. No musics, no cameras, only some mummies to disturb Lara... I think the author built this level only to promote a website. Not worth to play." - Jose (14-Nov-2017)
"This is a boring level. Huge rooms with repetitive textures, some others with anime girls and other pics. I got annoyed at the maze with the moving pillars and I quit it." - alan (08-Nov-2017)
"It's a brave attempt to try something new, but the execution fell flat. The gameplay here is rudimentary and often tedious with dull climbing, a looooong ladder and a boring pushable puzzle. Textures are an odd mixture: sometimes surreal, other times sloppy. Colourful texturing isn't reason to recommend it, though." - Ryan (11-Dec-2016)
"Whilst I applaud the builder's ambition to do something different by using custom textures and cartoon characters, I can't say it's been very well executed, some of said textures having been applied in a very sloppy manner. Other than that, the level consists mainly of running through endless corridors, avoiding massed mummies and the occasional spike boulder and a rather annoying push puzzle segment. A chaotic and not particularly enjoyable experience frankly." - Jay (07-Jun-2015)
"Boring level with unmarked fire tiles, monkey swing, spike tiles. Got bored and didn't even bother to finish i. Not recommended it" - Gonxii (06-Oct-2013)
"Monotonous texturing (and sometimes stretched) borders with custom advertisements on the walls and anime pictures on the walls and floors. Quite original, but not so original and finished to consider this as "good" texturing. Lighting acceptable. Atmosphere +1 (due to the fact however the level doesn't resemble any location, I can see it resembles author's imagination). Gameplay consists of getting from one point to another. Poor, but exists. Puzzles do not. SUMMARY: Recommended for those who wanna know the author's personality." - DJ Full (14-Oct-2010)
"This is one of those levels which hangs on the very edge of awfullness, but which just about manages to elevate itself into the category of 'intentionally weird';and thus narrowly escape ending up at the bottom of the Level Listing. If it had displayed a few of the tricks of the Level Editor then it could have been a truly innovative experience, but one very effective 'wierd monkey-swing' is not quite enough to justify more than one point for gameplay originality.Textures,on the other hand, are a strangely effective blend of the wallpaper'd and the surreal:huge Manga figures towering overhead in giant rooms;epic slides into areas filled with giant photographs.Mummies and rolling boulders pay faint lip-service to the notion of Gameplay;but this is really one for the completist only." - Orbit Dream (18-Jul-2010)
"Now I really know what Mangas are (which have never interested me, actually, so surely). And I know how the levelbuilder looks (what interests me still much less). And I might also find out the name of a website (what interests me, however, still much less). No, I am interested for very big room, monotonous textured rooms, always the same texture, wallpaper texture, paper-thin walls and ceilings, miles long ramps, mummy which pop up from Nothing and also in Nothing disappear, always the same bright brightness, absolute empty rooms, pointless push from objects. Yes, I love such things, there come I so properly to journey. For it I leave everything and lie. And here I have even everything all at once. And I may experience to all 20 minutes whole all at once. There is only one what disturbs me now really. Nevertheless, me interferes very much that one may award as a Reviewer no deficit points. Pity, actually, because this "level" would be a really suitable candidate." - Scottie (15-Apr-2009)
"This is basically a short jaunt through a bunch of large rooms with nothing much to do in them apart from some jumping and object-pushing. The texturing is pretty bad, but at least the author managed to use his own custom textures...although it's a shame that they were mainly used for advertising his website. After finally reaching the end and escaping from what seems like hundreds of mummies, the game crashed to my desktop. There is nothing really interesting on offer here, so it's best just to leave this level alone, unless you're really obsessed with Manga." - Spike (17-Sep-2007)
"Like Torry has said, this is an unnaceptable level. Not only the rooms are humongously huge, but they're also bland and empty, textured with the same texture from bottom to top with the numberous banners of the author's site and later on there are several manga drawings on the walls. Along with some spikes that pop out without warning, was a closed door which despite bothering for 10 minutes I couldn't find a way to open. Looking for something fun to play? Look elsewhere. 01/07" - Treeble (29-Jan-2007)
"How could I resist playing this level after reading the glowing reports from my fellow reviewers? The warm pleasure of viewing a 2-D Lara running through uniformly lit rooms, the tender, tingling touch of steel as spikes appear without warning from random floor tiles - or even mid-air - skewering our heroine, the climactic rush of pleasure as, once more, we crash to the desktop. And now, the satisfying afterglow fading as the smoke drifts lazily from my cigarette. Pure joy. I am, of course, taking the p*** - but it does have a few nice Manga pictures in it. ;-)" - Staticon (28-Jan-2006)
"Now I know what Manga is. Although I have seen the characters before I never put two and two together. Everyday you learn something new. 20-09-2003" - Gerty (05-Oct-2003)
"This wasn't very good. I don't know how old the author is but I am guessing pretty young from the cartoon pictures all over the place. The textures are awfully stretched and one tile is applied in every wall which not much variety throughout the entire level. There are no enemies except some mummies easy to avoid or puzzles only a few objects to push. There are spike balls near the end and at some point you see the author's picture. At the last room before you reach the finishing trigger there is a big sign with GOAL! written on it. Well it's not really a level." - Kristina (09-Sep-2003)
"The worst thing about this level is that there's no load-screen so if you happen to die through the spikes - BOOM the level goes to the desktop and that is pretty annoying. Otherwise - the advertisements of the site (which doesn't work anymore though) some manga pictures and the photos of the author(s?) is the only thing that makes it different from a usual run-through a level. So why did I bother you might ask? Curiousity." - eTux (23-Aug-2003)
"This is one of the levels where Lara's untimely demise results in System Error 10 on my Mac which means I have to restart the computer and it takes roughly 2 minutes to get going. As there are deadly tiles that are unmarked and booby traps along the way this pointless run through billboards and Manga characters proved to be really frustrating for me hence the low ratings." - Dimpfelmoser (11-Nov-2002)
"This is terrible. Sorry but it really is. There's no gameplay no puzzles just a load of advertising for the author's site everywhere and a few Manga pics. In my opinion you should give this one a wide berth." - Bex (08-Nov-2002)
"I hope you're in the mood for running cause you'll be doing a lot of it here. The entire level seems to be made up of large rooms with very few textures used - many seemed to be just for advertising the author's site. The traps were really annoying because the game crashed to the desktop every time I died. Only for the very bored." - RaiderGirl (25-Jul-2002)
"This level seems to have been made with the aim to place as many pictures of cartoon characters as possible there's even one with a bad case of flatulence but apart from those the level had a very monochromatic look throughout with the use of only one texture. In the way of game play this didn't have much aside from moving from room to room never spending more than 30 seconds in each pushing some objects with no real purpose other than getting them out of the way of doorways and jumping over packs of mummies with one small room holding at least a dozen. There were a couple of interesting things the look of the end room and a move that transported Lara from grabbing a ledge to the next second hanging from the ceiling extremely high above monkey swinging but that just wasn't enough. At 25 minutes this actually seemed too long." - Sash (21-Jun-2002)
"Alright definitely not a level worth playing with a missing load screen spikes set up the wrong way mummy gauntlets missing water textures and lots of lengthy running pushing climbing but it is sort of unique through some funny surprises in the texturing (Japanese comics figures I assume) and the room with the creator team photos is a nice touch - LOL." - Michael (21-Jun-2002)
"It would appear that this author is a shy fellow not wanting to applaud himself too loudly so I won't rate his level too highly. First off this is one of those annoying levels that drops you to the desktop every time Lara dies and you try to load a save game. Unacceptable. The gameplay is quite boring unless you like anime pictures plastered all over the wall. He even has one of Sailor Moon with bOObs that rival Lara's own (what's going on there?). The rooms were large and uneventful joined by some corridors that were blocked by pushable objects you simply pushed out of the way. No thought required in playing this and I reckon little thought went into the building of it either. This is a wasted 20 minutes folks." - Torry (21-Jun-2002)
"What to say about this level? A level only for 'Manga' lovers." - Josep (21-Jun-2002)
