Reviewer's comments
"Killing lots of guards and bats, whether with pistols or rolling them down with the bike. First you have to find a way to enter to Fede's house by looking for levers and a jump switch. I kind of liked exploring the different rooms of the house such as the bedroom, bathroom, but every time you opened a door there was a guard waiting behind it. The only part I liked the most was riding the bike as the turrets shot and threw fire till arriving at the tunnel with the end trigger." - alan (12-Jan-2018)
"Nothing more to do here than taking down shed loads of guards, obliterating (or avoiding, as I did) sentry guns and a zippy motorbike ride. Yes, this is accurately billed as a shooter. It's not very scintillating raiding as it is just mindless shooting with nary any skills required. I liked the textures that were used, but that's as far as my positivity goes, I'm afraid." - Ryan (16-Apr-2017)
"This is a shooter level in all its expression. Kill a bunch of SAS soldiers and hoardes of bats and that's it. A few rides with the motorbike here and there. Worth a try if you are into shooter levels." - Gonxii (14-Nov-2015)
"If shooting lots of guards and bats and picking up shed loads of largely unnecessary stuff is your idea of a good time you should definitely download this one. If, on the other hand, you fancy something entertaining, you should most definitely avoid this like the plague. I do realise that some players really like a shooter, but there are far better offerings in that genre - this really doesn't require much in the way of skill in dealing with the enemies and even the motorbike ride is a bit something and nothing. Sorry, not one I can honestly recommend." - Jay (25-Sep-2015)
"Boring, boring and boring. The only fun were the rides with the bike. Go through the streets and the house killing hundreds of bats and soldiers and avoiding the machine guns is the only gameplay in this level; also there are several switches to pull, but the triggered doors are very far and there are not cameras to show players where to go so you'll be always disoriented and never know how to continue playing. There is a new outfit for lara and new textures too, but they're often bad applied. No worth to play except if you love shooter levels." - Jose (27-May-2015)
"The saying goes that every game manages to squeeze in bats somehow. Well, if I never see another bat again, it will be too soon. Aside from the nauseating plethora of flying rodents, this shooter level seems confused in its design. Was the house suppose to be a military base? I honestly never managed to find out. Though I will admit that putting a turret behind a door was a great way to make me feel like an idiot. Wasn't a great excursion, but it was indeed a shooter level." - Xela (29-Sep-2013)
"A shooter level, so all we have to do is killing enemies. That would be okay, but there are some flaws in the implementation. My first and biggest complain is the pointlessness of the whole level, we just shoot the lot of SAS, and at the end there was no boss, or an object to obtain, we just dispose of everyone and leave, not my cup of tea. The SAS and machine guns popped up out of nowhere, and that ruined it even further. There wasn't a single camera of the gates openeing the other end of the level. The scenery of the streets is dull and uninteresting, the little lava room wasn't bad, and later as we arrive to the mansion things also get better, the pool area was quite good. But here the problem is the architecture of the house, it didn't turn out who Fede is, but he surely is a found of doors. If you like mindless shooting, or just not in the mood for some tasking jumps and puzzles, then maybe you can have some fun with it." - Akcy (25-Aug-2007)
"It might be a little unfair to judge this level by the first 15mins of gameplay but that is all I could play. I encountered a bug where, when you're on the bike any type of animation that was needed (i.e. getting off, jumping, etc) caused the game to crash back to the desktop. Since you need to get on the bike to progress furthur, that was as far as I could go. So I have reviewed this level on how far I got. There was a strange room with a load of bats but it went nowhere. Basically this level, was full of weird corridors swamped with sas gaurds and bats with a few sentry guns posted here and there. Your instructions was to kill everything so I pretty much guessed that there would be a lot of baddies. Not much in the realm of textures used from what I saw but it served its prupose by creating a very dark atmosphere which you got the feeling from in the beginning with the dark green sky. I enjoyed what i played and was very disappointed not to be able to play the rest. I'll have to keep a look out for an update that hopefully fixes this. If so, then I could amend this review." - Necro (28-Oct-2006)
"This level is better than the builder's shooter level "Office of Pain". Though again too many doors to open... You encounter soldiers and bats, and you get more than enough ammunition but the level is well balanced, nicely built and the atmosphere is really good. You start in a dark "city", use the bike to get to a villa with a swimming pool and make your way back to the city. (I have read that reviewers didn't find the finish trigger, but there really is one... Just use the bike to get back to the city...)" - Tinka (24-Oct-2005)
"This level had serious problems with. For instance turrets would just pop up out of nowhere and shoot or flame you. Enemies would also pop up out of nowhere and fire on you. The level is very simplistic other than kill and kill some more. The level layout was not well constructed and poorly designed. Textures were incorrectly used and some areas were not done correctly as I could literally walk through walls and door. There's not much in the way of variation either. My compliments would have to go for the plentiful of guys to dispatch as this level is a shooter and is very much so. It's not a bad effort for a first time but it's not good either. If I had to give this level a grade I would give it a D a fail mark." - The Aussie Adventurer (16-Nov-2004)
"Indeed this is a Shooter level - Lara starts in street city and shoots on many soldiers also she drives on motorbike and tries to find the way to get in to the house. All the stuff in the house is big and missing proportion. I only can say that it is a fun level without finishing trigger." - Yoav (01-May-2004)
"If there was a finishing Trigger somewhere in here then I didn't find it. It's rather telling isn't it? Usually I dislike exiting a level before the finish trigger but that's exactly what I did in both of Alex' endeavours. In this one I reached a Villa with a large pool; kicked in all the doors; shot all the guards; wandered around; found nothing more to do and left the game. But I never really had the impression that Lara was supposed to be doing anything definite anyway. The Villa itself is rather pleasant; as is the Pool. And the level it has to be said is rather well put together. But the gameplay is terribly basic and predictable and the remorselessness of the killings becomes very wearing rather quickly." - Orbit Dream (07-Feb-2004)
"I don't know how to describe this level properly. There is a house with funky furniture. A swimming pool this looks nice and I managed to get up over the balconys but there was nothing there. There are long boring gloomy streets with high walls either side. You get a bike which you can use to kill a lot of SAS but there's still more to kill with ammo and bats. Some unusual interiors like a black room with blue streaks running down and a lot of doors two and three in the same room. Machine guns and SAS appeared out of nowhere. I have no idea what she was looking for where this place is or where she was going in the end. And to top all this Lara looks like a little girl who raided her big sisters make-up bag." - CC (08-Aug-2003)
"This is a typical city-level. A lot of soldiers and many doors to open. The textures are okay. The lighting is bright. But I like it not so dark. Bats are inside and I found a lot of ammunition. I found the machine-pistols and the revolver and the telescopic-sight. The revolver I needed for the sentry-guns. I did not find the grenade gun but I saw the rifle. But I found no way to get it. The lever I pushed pointed me no way. The camera was only with Lara. I played 48 minutes for this shooting-level. But I had fun. If you like soldiers and doors this is the right level for you." - Andi Croft (19-Feb-2003)
"This was most satisfying. Not so much because the gameplay is that excellent but more because I'm now replaying all the games that crashed on me or that I wasn't able to finish due to a serious bug. Now the first time I played this the level brought me back to my desktop when I jumped with the motorbike over the blue pit and that was really too early in the proceedings to write a review. Not this time though which accounted for a short moment of bliss. It's not as tedious as the Office of Pain although you don't do much more here than open doors kill the numerous guards and dodge the sentry guns that spontaneously pop into existence behind you. For some reason most of the guards were armed with grenades so Lara made it through this virtually unharmed. Lara's choice of mascara was great as it reminded me of that little red haired girl I was madly in Love with when I studied in Berlin. I liked the sinister atmosphere and especially the pool area was beautifully done but when I finally rode past the three sentry guns into freedom I was extremely happy to leave the place behind. Only for lovers of Shoot 'em up type of levels." - Dimpfelmoser (24-Nov-2002)
"Ok nothing much different to 'Office Of Pain' (other level by this author) this means that there's a lot of killing to do in this level but I kinda like it. The beginning was a bit monotonous in the streets but later in the house itself it was funnier. A lot of SAS guards were inside the house some of them were in the pool area. As there was not the same objects available by now the author built most of the furniture with the editor itself. Nothing really nice but not really bad. 40 minutes." - Treeble (26-Jul-2002)
"This is a full on shoot 'em up level and if you are looking for more than that then this may not be the level for you. The first half takes place in a series of dark alley like areas that don't hold much but enemies and a lever pull which allows you to get to a motorbike the second half is set in a large pooled area that leads to a house full of doors and more enemies where the main goal is to retrieve the endless amounts of pick ups and pull a couple more levers that will let you finish the level. Although this was quite long it wasn't my kind of level but for others this may be just what they are looking for." - Sash (21-Jun-2002)
"Well, yes, it starts nicely with a cool outfit (and make-up) for Lara and throughout there are some funky furnishing textures, but other than that this was just not my kind of level. SAS soldiers and bats appear in countless amounts and especially at the beginning pick-ups are rare and even when I later found all the ammunition, I still did not have the weapons to help me out. Often enough enemies and automatic guns just appear out of nowhere and certainly behind almost every of the many doors is a baddie. Cameras are also missing and there are quite a few paper-thin walls in the house. But, if you are an action fan, this may be a level worth checking out - you will be shooting around most of the time." - Michael (21-Jun-2002)
"Now I generally enjoy levels built on the city wad but I'm afraid this is not one of them. I mean fair dinkum other than shooting a truck load of SAS and having bats constantly biting your butt apart from a little bike ride what point was there to this level?" - Torry (21-Jun-2002)
"I've been wanting to play this level for a long time because I love any level with a pool. Unfortunately that was the only thing in the level that I found interesting. Starting in a series of alleyways your objective is to get past all the guards and machine guns find a motorcycle and jump over a narrow gap to get to an area with a large house and the pool. I enjoyed the secret underwater passage that connects the house to the pool but the house itself could use a lot of work. The main texture used seems to be from the freezer in Lara's mansion and that's just too much of a bad thing plus each room seems to have 5 or 6 doors and they all lead to the same place (and nearly always have a guard behind them). Aside from pulling a few switches and killing many guards and bats there's really not much to do here." - RaiderGirl (21-Jun-2002)
"Still don't like the levels with so much shooting. I wonder what the fun of it is playing wise or building wise. There are better games out there just for action. Gameplay is straight forwards no puzzles to speak off. Pick ups were plenty full and for what as I needed the weapons for it." - Gerty (21-Jun-2002)
"One more level based on SAS guards. In every step you will see two of them coming at you and keep coming at the end you are going to wonder what was the purpose of all that. The player has no puzzles to solve except from opening some big double doors if this was an attempt to present a level like the City from TR4 I am sorry it failed. All of it is based on darkness but enough light to see where you are going. At some time with the underground room and the firetraps I thought now we are going somewhere but it was just an illusion. Right about the end you will acquire a bike to perform a very easy jump across a small pit. Some sentry-guns but easy to avoid. Neither the textures nor lighting are any different than usual. Not really my idea of a good level." - Kristina (21-Jun-2002)
