Reviewer's comments
"Not easy to go through this level, even with the helping cameras. Still in the first area, I got trapped in the corridors surrounding the square and I had to reload. Later, the timed run was hard and I only did it after several tries. Not enemies to shoot, not objects to ornate the rooms, not a nice texturization... At least you can walk through the nasty maze from above. Unremarkable." - Jose (15-Jan-2018)
"What a confusing level - I have no idea how anyone would manage to figure out what to do without the aid of a walkthrough. It's certainly intriguing, but so far from intuitive as to be utterly baffling, or perhaps I'm totally missing the point." - Jay (03-Nov-2017)
"Glad this is the last level of this builder I review. He for sure makes very quirky levels. Sorry to say but none of them are on my re-play list." - Gerty (27-Aug-2017)
"Another obscure level from Robert, this time involving a room-draining sequence, unmarked and marked trigger tiles and a short bike ride. Simplistic surroundings and no enemies or secrets. Nothing else worth mentioning." - Ryan (26-Dec-2016)
"Another day, another uninteresting release from Robert LaChapelle. And I have to say that this probably has to be his worst level yet(at time of writing), with gameplay that is far too obscure for its own good and unappealing environments that don't really lead to a positive lasting impression. So much like Robert's other levels so far, can't be worth recommending to anyone." - Ceamonks890 (25-Nov-2014)
"Robert's levels are all something of an aquired taste, and this is quite typical of his output - perform a couple of cryptic tasks where the cause/effect scenario isn't always clear, and then experience a quirky finish. The gameplay took me ten net minutes, but probably three times as much in actuality;and everything else about the level from a technical and artistic point of view is distinctly lacking.Only recommended for those in the mood for this sort of thing." - Orbit Dream (08-Jul-2013)
"This might be the worst of all the builder's levels - the rooms are textured with minimal care and gameplay is even for the builder's style way too obscure. None of the timed trigger tiles are marked and the maze you have to partially drain is not a bit of fun, and it was pure luck for me to have found the second door trigger to be able to finish this level with the (albeit good looking) bike after 8 minutes of net and easily double or three times as much of real gameplay time. Not recommended." - manarch2 (25-Feb-2013)
"G&P deserve an extra point. The rest is technically average. SUMMARY: Another game designed for mind teasers fans. This is ve2lyr's work, so you can choose the difficulty - either play this level at 12:30 PM or at 3:00 AM. The first option is definitely easier (I had no idea what to do when I chose the second one) and that makes me think taking some sleep may really help human brain rest." - DJ Full (28-Oct-2010)
"Normally I would've given a 5 for gameplay because of the way Lara has to drain the pool and open two doors (for the first door you need to go to the dark room but you need to watch out for the marked death square. You have to do a timed run in order to open the second one) but for some reason I think the author forgot to put the trigger for the second door because when I finished the timed run a camera was triggered but the second door was still closed (unlike the first one which was opened when the camera was triggered at the same time). Therefore I couldn't have any extra fun with the pink motorcycle (with the license plate 'Babe'). Of course you can always use DOZY in order to reach the finishing trigger but there is no fun in that. She's wearing a sexy leather outfit as well. Those two objects remind me of the 1960s (nostalgia?). The lighting is almost always at R 128 G 128 B 128 some textures are stretched the load.bmp provided by the author contains nothing (just a black loading screen) and there are a few paper-thin walls. However the author proves again and again that he's the flipmap master and since we are so accustomed to his step-on-a-tile puzzles he decided to fool us by putting colored tiles in two rooms that trigger absolutely nothing. He's also shouting with pride that he's reducing the risk of getting Alzheimer's disease by creating these puzzles." - Sakusha (14-Aug-2004)
"Once again the author has built a level that can be finished in less than five minutes once you've figured out what to do. Bad texturing bad lighting boring gameplay. As usual in levels by this author." - Magnus (29-Jan-2004)
"Well I've played Mirror 2 before playing this one so now I know what was that underwater maze about. It's this level. This maze isn't so hard but it's not as fun as the invisible one that's only present in Mirror 2. Well not really different though - you step on triggers to set the timed doors and run for them to set more doors. Eventually you'll get the doors to the ramp open and then you just get the pink 'babe' bike to jump over the gap." - Treeble (24-Jan-2004)
"I spent half an hour on this level the first time I tried it and finally gave up as I couldn't figure out how to drain the lower rooms. I too assumed it had something to do with the doors at the beginning of the level. After solving that part however it takes only minutes to figure out how to open the two gates and then you're rewarded by a short motorcycle ride." - RaiderGirl (11-Feb-2003)
"Robert's levels are usually minimalist and absurd but if you give them a chance by persevering and observing closely you'll get the hang of it. Have to admit it was by pure luck though I went to the end of the ramp to notice that by doing that you drained the water area. Anyway from then on you had to find a way to open the two doors (1+2) blocking your chance to act like Evil Knievel. Takes some time to manage the right order of opening the 4 blocking gates to open door 2 of the ramp but the other one (door 1) was fairly easy except if like me and don't immediately explore the dark area. Anyway very short level if you're Mr or Mrs Smartipants or about half an hour if you're a lazy bum like me. Other than that: it's a booby! Oh yeah and you get to drive a pink sidecar: yikes!" - bERT (20-Nov-2002)
"Well if you base your level on a single puzzle you should make sure that it is a good one. In order to ride the motorbike over the finishing trigger you have to open the two ramp doors and to do so you have to drain the basement first. Now you start the level in a litte separee with 8 step on tiles that open 8 different doors and I was trying for ages to get a combination that would make the water disappear when in fact all you have to do is jump to the end of the ramp. FG sussed that out straight away so maybe it's just me who isn't tuned in to Bob's peculiar logic. Once you've done the draining there is one more step on tile a booby trap a fairly easy timed run and you're through it in five minutes. I liked Lara's 60s-style outfit the pink motorbike and the load screen that I'll keep till something better comes along but as it is with the author's other levels gameplay- and enemy wise it's a bit short staffed." - Dimpfelmoser (11-Nov-2002)
"This is quite an ingenious little level and it is little it took me just under 5 minutes to play. You have to find a way of opening 2 gates to allow a hot pink motorbike access to a jump and the end opening those gates though isn't such an obviously easy thing to do and a third of the main game area where you will find their triggers is filled with water stopping you from entering the other two thirds then when you work out that little problem you then have to complete a timed run that can be quite cryptically set up in its own right. There is nothing special about the look there are no pick ups or enemies and it really is just a single puzzle to work out but that one single puzzle was very smartly made." - Sash (21-Jun-2002)
"Again a provocative outfit and this time a little more to accomplish in maze area once filled with water and then not. Open a few doors and make a jump with a brilliantly coloured pink 'Babe' motorbike after less than 10 minutes." - Michael (21-Jun-2002)
"This level will take you only 5 minutes or so to play (but half an hour or more to work out what to do). The quest is simple. Open two doors to allow Lara to escape on her bright pink motorcycle but getting those two doors open is a bit of a mind twister. Still for the inventiveness of this level it is well worth a play." - Torry (21-Jun-2002)
"A very strange level which I would like to put into the category 'experimental arts' ;o). Lara is wearing a kind of Domina-outfit and her quest is opening a couple of doors in order to finish the level with a jump over a huge gap with her bike which is very very pink. That's all." - Sheevah (21-Jun-2002)
"I must admit that I have no idea how I passed the timed doors or finished for that matter. This level is so short although it was so confusing at first. Lara's outfit is a little weird is she wearing underwear?! Anyway the textures are stretched in some parts and wafer-thin walls are present also. There are no enemies or objects besides from the doors and a pink bike yes that's right a pink bike; it was hilarious. It's just a waste of time." - Kristina (21-Jun-2002)
