Reviewer's comments
"Just another average level about running through some rooms to find an artifact, fight a few enemies and that's it." - alan (12-Jan-2020)
"A short level very easy to play. Place several demigods at the start when Lara has not extra weapons is not very nice, so I simply avoid them and the only enemy I fought with was a lonely harpy. The remaining gameplay was to pull two jumpswitches and use the portal guardian to get a second gem. I think there were deadly traps in the gray tiles with small holes, but no. Poor gameplay. At least there is a flyby and a couple of fixed cameras. The texturization is not bad too. Playable but too short." - Jose (14-Dec-2017)
"Hard to objectively (read fairly) rate this demo, as it looks pleasing but has very mediocre gameplay. Shoot or avoid some demigods, swim a bit, collect some gems and pull some switches. Obviously never going to be expanded. Oh, well." - Ryan (01-Sep-2017)
"It's always difficult to judge a ten minute demo with any degree of accuracy, but this had possibilities that were obviously never expanded upon. Basically, it's a quick romp through a Tinnos style environment, curiously devoid of any 'furniture'. Otherwise, there's a portal guardian to find, a harpy to shoot, and four (yes, four!) demigods to kill, which would have seemed like a hell of a boss battle if I'd played it when it first came out. Nowadays, knowing the trick of dealing with demigods, it is of course easy, if somewhat tedious, to deal with them." - Jay (06-Jun-2016)
"It is a pity that the level builder has not build a complete level after this demo. What one could see, was not so bad. Well, Diego would of course still have had to work at the lighting. And the four Demigods were rather superfluous. One or two Demigods would have also reached. Or the player would have had to find before more effective weapons with accordingly a lot of ammunition. The textures were so far ok, the same one is valid for the sound. This would have become certainly a good level." - Scottie (18-Feb-2010)
"A demo that lasts 15 minutes, subtitled"return to Tinnos 2", that shows that the author , in a time span of only a few months , had made a lot of improvements since his first visit in Tinnos, as the setting here is pleasant , despite a wafer thin wall somewhere. There is not a lot to do , defeat some demigods and an harpy, use the crowbar , and pick up the gems. One room where a raising block appears to pick up the last gem is atmospherically designed and textured." - eRIC (13-Nov-2008)
"Well I must say I'm impressed with the improvement in design texture application lighting and gameplay from this author. I was surprised I thought I was in for a Cleopatra's palace level but instead this is a very Tinnos looking setup. Most impressed with the 'ice' platform where four demigods appear and I liked the long swims and water rooms. Who is Mahuky?" - CC (23-Oct-2004)
"And another Demo that will never see the light of day; rather a blessing in this case I'm afraid to say. Bland Tinnos textures Ahmets to shoot (they are debilitating without sufficient firepower on your side) and Gameplay that is otherwise very dull and lifeless. Stick to completed projects I would." - Orbit Dream (01-May-2004)
"This was supposed to be a continuation of the 'Return to Tinnos' I believe and so much better if only for 20 minutes or so. As it started I thought it was going to be set in a 'base' setting although it is a Cleo wad but soon found otherwise. This was very pleasing to the eye and nicely layed out although gameplay was lacking. It was enjoyable though after playing some more laborious levels and the 4 demigod fight was quite exciting. A bit anti-climactic as you picked up the second gem and it ended." - Momster (03-Dec-2002)
"A nice short demo which will never become a full version probably. I found the fight with the 4 demigods fun and even if this level only lasts for about 10 minutes you may like it if you liked the original Antarctica levels. Strange that some base appliances mix together with the walls of the city. Nothing special overall give it a try." - eTux (10-Nov-2002)
"As this is a demo you reach the end of this quest for the two blue gems in 10 minutes but it looks quite promising I have to say. Definitely not what you would expect with the Cleo wad as there is even a bit of snow in it. However that's the most remarkable thing really; along with the four demigods that pop up all of a sudden when you snatch away the first gem. I had the feeling the gods were invincible inside the ring of fire so you had to lure them out into the open which I thought was a really great idea but apart from that there is not much to do there really." - Dimpfelmoser (18-Aug-2002)
"Although this is a demo it felt and played more like a small 15 minute level set in an icy underground location with the aim being to retrieve a couple of lost gems. There wasn't anything really special about the look of the level and the gameplay was very straightforward but I had a lot of fun fighting a formidable battle with four demigods in a small space with not much in the way of weaponry. The only real disappointment I have with this creator in this and his other works is the sparseness of character he gives to most of the rooms." - Sash (21-Jun-2002)
"Indeed as this is a demo it seems a little unfinished. After a few nicely textured but empty rooms a bit of fighting with 4 demigods and a banshee and after picking up the two Portal Guardian pieces and the Gems it ends after about 10-15 minutes. Guess we should wait for the full release of the level - the demo looks promising." - Michael (21-Jun-2002)
"This was a simple straight forward level. Lasting 15 minutes the best part surely was the fight with the 4 demigods pity only one can be active each time ;). Lara's quest was two gems. There was a hall that leads nowhere in the final room. The textures were nice but the lighting was not so good. Let's see how it is going to be in the final version." - Treeble (21-Jun-2002)
"As this is only a demo I wasn't too surprised or disappointed that it only lasted eight minutes but I am looking forward to the finished level. Playing this was like returning to Tinnos only much easier to get through. Gameplay was short and simple but with some work the end result could be a lot of fun. There was a moment of excitement as you find yourself surrounded by four demigods then you discover a weapon that was nearby all the time. I'm hoping the complete level will have some good puzzles added and some more pickups and places to explore but the camera work was very enjoyable with a great fly-by and some interesting camera angles that only added to the enjoyment of the demo. It ended suddenly after I picked up the second gem and I was left wanting more." - RaiderGirl (21-Jun-2002)
"Time to finish this demo Diego. It looks promising. Had a good time fighting those demigods took 2 at the time and survived. After exploring one arm of the corridors and coming back to get the gem I wanted more. 19 april 2002" - Gerty (21-Jun-2002)
"I liked the icy environment of this level and the general idea is good. The player has to collect two gems and the two pieces from the portal guardian. None of them hard to find. The battle with the four demigods took much of Lara's health also there is a harpy. Flipping a couple of jump switches will open the door to proceed plus you spend half the time this level needs swimming. As you pick up the second gem after the block has been raised the end comes. As usual the demo never made it to the full version." - Kristina (21-Jun-2002)
