Reviewer's comments
"Just by starting the level I ended up burning. Anyway, it's a short demo where your goal is to find a pyramid key (I keep forgetting its name) to find the crystal. The area where you find this artifact is rather cool, I don't think I had seen those effects before. What I didn't like is that there's an unmarked ladder in that area with many pillars; if I hadn't watched a walkthrough, I would've never known of it (no, the camera didn't provide much of a clue). The readme states that this project would be composed of 20 levels... Oh boy! By the way, I think this level is in the wrong category, as it looks like Sctoland rather than Egypt." - alan (18-Nov-2022)
"This is another demo that has been left unfinished and while it does have some potential, it's a bit unfulfilling as a whole. The textures and atmosphere are well executed and the lighting is mostly effective, but unfortunately there's not a great deal to do and what exists is a bit meagre. Simply shoot a few dogs, avoid a few skeletons, pick up a couple of items and have a glance at the transporters before ending in around 9 minutes." - Ryan (06-Dec-2018)
"Another demo that was never expanded by this builder - indeed, this would appear to have been his swan song. Scottish textures used to good effect give a nice atmosphere and the retextured transporters look impressive, but the ten minutes of simple gameplay really don't give much impression of how good a finished level might have been." - Jay (28-Aug-2016)
"Very short this demo so, few comments to do. There are unmarked climbable walls (room with many pillars) and unmarked triangular deadly tiles; the door near the key receptacle is bad placed. The gameplay is simple, with no puzzles, the new enemies are cool, but I think they're excessive to begin a level so, not enough ammo for the shotgun I found. There are some special effects to create atmosphere, like the blue rays or the animating when you pick up the crystal; also I liked the lighting, but the texturization is ordinary. Good attemp, but I think there are many things to be revised." - Jose (02-Feb-2016)
"A pity that this project has remained in the state of short demo , as it certainly had good potential , not so much in the gameplay which is very basic (and the climbable walls are not always obvious) but atmospherically. The setting is solidly done, the enemies with a bit of blue are cool, and the last room is surprising. Well done anyway." - eRIC (13-Nov-2008)
"45 rooms. Quite a lot for a demo, still yet another quarter of a level. The readme itself says this promotional demo had little to do with the actual big project, which never surfaced, I guess. The skeletons with blue swords work, but I had to laugh at the dogs with blue ears because that was just plain silly. 10 minutes. 08/07" - Treeble (13-Aug-2007)
"The author says that this is a demo and indeed it lasted only fifteen minutes but sure felt like a level. The place is unknown but it has castle textures and many dogs that looked so funny with those blue ears. The skeletons were very annoying at some point and weren't letting Lara climb a surface. Anyway you have to pick up a guardian key and push levers to finally reach the Crystal watch Lara being surrounded by a white light and end the level a few steps further in another white light that looks like she is being teleported somewhere else. I would like to see this finished but I am afraid that's unlikely to happen." - Kristina (05-Aug-2003)
"It's not going to happen is it? Go on admit it. Still never mind; run shoot dogs (some of which are used quite effectively) run burn inexplicably run climb steal the Heaven's Crystal admire the rather splendid light effects run into same end. Tally Ho! Onward to the next level Ian." - Orbit Dream (13-May-2003)
"Considering this demo came out in September of 2001 I guess it's not very likely that we'll ever see the completed project. Looks like it might have been interesting though if it had been completed. It only takes about ten minutes to get to the end and in that time there's what looks to be a Scottish Castle to explore rooms of where you'll find dogs with blue gems for ears bats and a few skeletons. The coolest part is at the end where you pick up the Heaven's Crystal and get a great swirling effect around Lara with blue lights and blue balls of energy. The most annoying part was the deadly floor tiles that weren't really marked as such." - RaiderGirl (18-Feb-2003)
"As far as Demos go this is pretty advanced cause you get roughly 12 minutes of quite straightforward raiding which is more than what some tutorial debuts have to offer. It's a pity that yet again this seems to be one of those occasions where the promising demo never blossomed into a full scale level. Gameplay is somewhat rudimentary the most outstanding features being the modified skeletons and dogs as well as a quite impressive vortex at the end. The setting seems a bit undecided with some castlesque elements but overall effect is rather pleasing. Plus I liked the fixed camera angle that indicates where the climbable wall is." - Dimpfelmoser (10-Feb-2003)
"Made in September last year this probably will never be a full level. In my opinion a bit of mishmash of textures and some re-textured dogs and skeletons. Lara burns stepping on some parts hate that. Might be an interesting level to play if ever... 04-12-2002" - Gerty (07-Dec-2002)
"This project demo is as the readme states just a showcase of the capabilities of a team of people who are endeavoring on making a 20 level game and in fact this demo is not even part of that larger game. Realising that I understand the lack of game play in this 15 minutes project where the aim is to find a new pick up the Heaven's Crystal after pulling a couple of levers placing a key pick up and shooting some jackals who have been given blue gems for ears. Apart from the interesting mutation of the jackals there is a wonderful blue visual effect that is based on the swirling effect usually seen encircling golden statues of Lara which if that is any indication of what may lie ahead in the larger game I for one will definitely be looking forward to playing it." - Sash (21-Jun-2002)
"As said this is only a promotion demo for the Italian project and as such it does not offer any real gameplay in the 15 minutes it takes to run through. But it is definitely worth the look to see the mutated dogs and the really cool swirling effects at the end when you pick up the customized Heaven's Crystal. I am looking forward to all the level's that are meant to come out of the project." - Michael (21-Jun-2002)
"In this short demo (10 minutes) Lara has to find a heaven crystal and activate then a tele transport energetic among dogs with the ears of crystals to kill in cemeteries and laboratories. I hope that in future there will be other enemies and not only dogs. However it's only a demo we will see in future the real value of this project." - Boris (21-Jun-2002)
"This is only a demo... this should not be voted..." - Lorenzo (21-Jun-2002)
"This was certainly an interesting 15 minutes and as this demo was released way back in 9/01 I'm wondering what ever happened to the others that were supposed to be forthcoming. It's a shame if this project is not going further as it looked very promising what little of it here was." - Momster (21-Jun-2002)
