********** MISTS OF AVALON **********

** Avalon became a more and more powerful and spiritual place over the course of many years.
Its priests and priestesses lived according to the laws of nature and by the movements of the sun and moon.

Morgain, also known as Morgan le Fey, was Lady of the Lake (high priestess of Avalon) during King Arthurs reign.
She was Arthurs half-sister.
She made for him the sheath of his legendary sword Excalibur and she is the mother of his son Gwydion.

Sometime during King Arthurs reign, Avalon started to become isolated in time and space.
Lost to the rest of the world.
Only the priestesses and priests of Avalon could reach it with a small boat,
willing the mists surrounding Avalon to yield.

It is believed that a map to the location of Avalon is hidden in King Arthur's tomb.
But where is King Arthur's tomb? According to some versions of the legend his body was buried on Avalon itself...

** Atlantis was destroyed by the wrath of the Atlantean god Deios.
The survivors fled overseas, in different directions, but
the Stone of Omphalis was saved from the destruction and was brought overseas to the Tor
where it was placed in an underground labyrinth to harness its immense powers.

It is believed that the Stone of Omphalis has indeed great spiritual powers.
The Atlanteans were able to harness and even channel this power through singing rituals,
thus enabling them to build massive structures that could not be built with any of the conventional tools.
This power could explain how Avalon, with the Tor at its centre, became lost in time and space.

** So the legends of Atlantis and Avalon seem to be connected...

**** INSTALLATION ****
No installation required.
Simply unzip the downloaded folder and doubleclick the tomb4.exe to start the game.
When you start the game for the first time you'll get a message saying that there are JPG files in the Pix folder.
Click Okay and the included CONVERTER.exe will convert all images in the Pix folder to BMP format.
(I used JPG in the download to cut down on download size...)

I've built and tested this game using a resolution of 1680x1050 (aspect ratio 16:10) and I because of this, the load.bmp has the same sizes.
However, when played in other resolutions the load.bmp can look ugly.
This is why I made one other version of it with resolution 1280x1024 (aspect ratio 4:3), it is placed in the LOAD folder.
If you want to use this version you should copy it to the main folder.
Since it is of no use to make versions of all possible resolutions you are free to resize one of the two included versions, adjusting it to whichever
resolution you are playing the game in.

**** NEW MOVES ****
All of Lara's new moves are also described in the "PDA - Notes" which you can access at all
times ingame by going into Lara's inventory.

PARALLEL BARS
Press CTRL in midair to make Lara grab the swingpole.
Lara can usually grab the entire length of the pole, unless there are objects attached to it.
So find the thinnest part of the pole and make Lara jump to that part.
Keep pressing ARROW UP to make her start swinging around the moment she grabs the pole.
If you don't press ARROW UP when Lara grabs the pole, she will hang still.

	When hanging still on pole
	-	Keep pressing CTRL, otherwise Lara will let go of the pole and fall down.
	-	ARROW UP: start swinging around.
	-	END: Make a 180 degree turn.
 	-	ALT: Lara will pull up onto the pole and jump off it.
Press CTRL in midair to make Lara grab a ledge, another pole or a jumpswitch.

	When swinging around the pole
	-	Keep pressing CTRL, otherwise Lara will let go of the pole and fall down.
	-	There's no need to keep pressing ARROW UP while swinging.
The swinging automatically continues untill you let go of CTRL or press one of the buttons described below.
	-	END: Make a 180 degree turn on top of the pole (sort of handstand).
	-	ARROW DOWN: Lara will stop swinging and goes back to 'hanging still on pole'
	-	ALT: Lara will jump off the pole.
This jump takes Lara a bit further than the 'pull up and jump off' move.
Again, when in midair press CTRL to make Lara grab a ledge, another pole or a jumpswitch.

(All parrallel bars animations are made by Titak)

LEDGE JUMPS
Lara can perform two different jumps when hanging still from a ledge: jump-upwards and jump-backwards

	jump-upwards
	-	Press ALT to make Lara jump up to a ledge or jumpswitch above her.
If there is no ledge, or the ledge above is to far away for Lara to reach, she will
be able to grab the ledge she came from as long as you keep pressing CTRL.

	jump-backwards
	-	Press ARROW DOWN to make Lara pull up and jump faceforwards to a ledge behind her.
If you press END while jumping, Lara will perform a flip in midair, so make sure there's
a flat surface to land on when making Lara do the flip.

CRAWLSPACE MOVES
	rolling through crawlspace
	- Position Lara in a kneeling position and press SPRINT.
		(Animation by Core Design)

	rolling out of crawlspace
	-	Position Lara face forward at the exit of the crawlspace.
Press JUMP to make Lara quickly roll out of the crawlspace.
(TRC move: animation by Core Design)

	ladder to crawlspace
	-	Keep pressing ARROW UP when climbing on a wall ladder.
Lara will automatically go into the crawlspace in front of her.
(TRC move: animation by Core Design)

MONKEYBARS
	ladder to monkey
	-	When Lara climbs up on a ladder on a wall, she can grab a monkeybar above her if there is one.
Simply keep pressing ARROW UP when Lara is underneath the monkeybars.
		(Animation by Geckokid)

	180 degree turn
	-	Press END while hanging still to make Lara perform a 180 degree turn.
It might take up to a second before the animation kicks in. This is some bug which I haven't been able to fix.
		(Animation by Geckokid)

**** CREDITS ****

Below is a whole list of credits for various stuff I used in these levels.
If I have used something that you recognise and which you made, but it and/or you is not mentioned in this credits list,
then I apologise to you.
At some point during the 3 year building process I lost track of what stuff belonged to who and so on. :0
But even if your name is not on the credits list, your hard work is very much appreciated!
(otherwise I wouldn't have used it in the first place! :P )

Thank you!

TEXTURES

I've used a lot of textures from other TR games, mostly AOD, TR Legend, TR Anniversary and TR Underworld.
I had to edit them quite a bit to make them fit my rooms and objects.

I've also used textures from various sites (mainly http://www.cgtextures.com)

Sorry, can't remember where I found them all. :-o

All texture-editing was done by Titak.

Special thanks go to Tomb Raider Forums (http://www.tombraiderforums.com), Skribblerz Forum and site (http://www.skribblerz.com/),
The Dutch TR forum (http://trforum.nedlinux.com/) and www.trle.net forums.
Couldn't have done it without the support and help of the members there.

Many thanks go to PSIKO for all the Meta2TR tips and tricks he taught me.
(and making me have a big awkward doh! moment when he noticed I kept typing wgt value 0.01 instead of the needed 0.1... LOL!)
Many of the things I've done with Meta2TR, I could not have done without him.

Also many thanks go to all the people mentioned above in the credits.
Due to the time I have spent on this game, chances are I forgot to mention some people.
If you are one of them, please forgive me. You are not forgatten and I thank you for whatever I'm using that you have made.

Special thanks to my beta testers:
	Gerty,
	Dutchy,
	Geckokid
	Phys
	Sethian
Raymond (participated in one testround, gave me some new TRNG tips and taught me how to make it work. ),
	Jos (participated in final testround.)

finding major and minor bugs, reading through my, sometimes, endless posts, etc. :-)
Job well done! *hug*

And special thanks to Dutchy for letting me use his private testing forum.

And special thanks to Gerty and Dutchy for writing the walkthrough for these levels!
