"Losing your Marbles" by Michael Prager

May/June 2003

--- STORY ---

After a season of exciting archaeological adventures, Lara has finally come to rest at her mansion, but it seems all the sand, heat, traps, enemies she had to deal with finally got to her. More and more she has trouble sleeping and even when she does, she enters miraculous dream worlds, in which she has to do what she does best only to escape from her dream: solve tricky puzzles, master challenging jumps, fight the fiercest of enemies, drive tricky courses on strange vehicles and more. She needs your help to wake up and fly away from this dream...

--- CREDITS & ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS ---

This is my fourth level and it's been almost two years since I had built my first three, way back when the editor had just been released. And no, I have not been working on this level for two years, actually only for the last two months ;-). As I have not really had the time to work myself into any of the builder's tools other than the editor itself and TRWEST, I need to express my gratitude to a few members of the community who through their contribution made this level that extra bit special (well, in my humble opinion anyway...), so here goes:

Initial Custom WAD creation and Texture Set by Uwe Fröhlich aka UFO

http://www.rollingball.de ; email: trlevel@3d-ufo.de

Without his willingness to provide me with a WAD with movable and raising blocks, a few enemies (which I believe need to be credited to Tomo) and a couple of other elements I would never even have started to build this level. As soon as I had set my mind on building I wanted to use the 'Return to the Blue Planet' texture set, which Uwe has kindly made available to people on his website. If you have not played Uwe's levels yet, then I suggest that you should seriously consider doing so as soon as you can. They are awesome!

Vehicle construction by Richard Lawther

http://mysite.freeserve.com/Trevelyan ; email: lawth@air-head.fsnet.co.uk

Dick was very responsive to my query whether he could provide a modified jeep and the vehicle he came up with yet again demonstrates his genius in creating the unexpected. It caused me to expand the jeep tracks in the level and even add a 5th Secret to allow for some more fun riding - so make sure you find it ;-) Again, if you have not yet played Dick's levels and in particular his Astrodelica series, you don't know what your missing, so go download them now!

Lara's Outfit by Danny K (TR Tailor)

email: danny_trprfe2@hotmail.com

I downloaded this Cambodia outfit by Danny K from the TRLE Search Engine (http://trsearch.tripod.com/cgi-bin/TRSearch.cgi).

Beta Testing by

Dick (lawth@air-head.fsnet.co.uk )

Gerty (schalulleke@hotmail.com )

RJB (robinandjeanb@ntlworld.com )

Seemeister (seemeister@laraslevelbase.org )

Xxenofex (xxenofex@aol.com )

I am indeed very grateful to the beta testers, as they have given excellent feedback and caused about two dozen modifications to the level  (hopefully for the better, but of course you as a player will never know… J

--- KNOWN BUGS & LITTLE ANNOYANCES ---

  • On several occasions where you raise and lower movable items on raising blocks the movable items (blocks and planets) do not always 'move' up and down immediately. You need to walk towards them and they will suddenly appear in the place where they should be
  • The Floor Trapdoors can be walked through once they have been opened
  • Because of the heavy use of transparency in some rooms you can ‘see through’ to parts of other rooms that you should not be seeing or you do not see parts of other rooms that you should be seeing. I made a few attempts to improve this but eventually gave up as I believe it does not hurt the game experience that much.

--- EXPERTS CHALLENGE: "Beat the Creator" ---

I completed the Level in 46:48 minutes, 5378 metres, 787 Shots, 5 Medipacks used (yeah, I know….) and naturally found all 5 (!) Secrets. Send me your Savegames to show me you can do better…. J

Thanks for playing my level and HAPPY RAIDING!
