NOTE: You have to play
"Canadian Forest" first or get a savegame click here to download one to play
this second level, 'cause you need the crowbar near the beginning and the
author didn't put it in this level. The guards are friendly, and help you to
kill the "wendigos", but the wendigos don't attack you if you don't
shoot them (except in the second detonator card room). This level is no-lineal,
so you can complete the tasks almost in any order.
N:north, S:south,
E:east, W:west, NE:northeast, NW:northwest, SE:southeast, SW:southwest,
CS:crawlspace. Have fun!
THE ENTRANCE
Slide down the ramp
and look how the guards kill a wendigo. Use the CS in N wall to get the other
side, once there open the door with the crowbar (see NOTE). Advance and find to
your left a small cabana and a crate with explosives, continue 'cause it's for
later. Push the grey moveable wagon to get continue and up the ramp to arrive
in a big area with a lot of crates and many tunnels. I'll call this area "the
main room".
THE FIRST DETONATOR
CARD
Turn right and find a
well hidden CS in the E wall behind the big brown pipes. At the other side, run
fast near the door of the cabana to avoid the big ice cubes. This door needs a
key card, so continue and enter into a burning area in left side jumping over a
safe orange crate.
Jump over the S ledges and pull the moveable machine to put it over the brown N
tile, this extinguishes a fire near the orange crate. Go now over the N ledges
and manoeuvre the other machine over the brown tile in the E side, this
extinguishes the fire on the brown tile in S side. You can jump over the NE
floor, it's safe, and pick up secret#1: explosive harpoons.
Go back over the S ledges and put the first machine over the very S brown tile,
this extinguish a fire near the second machine. Finally, go there and move that
machine over the very S brown tile at E wall, this opens a nearby door. Go out
of this room and left, to push the wagon and get the first access card under it
and shotgun ammo too.
Go back to the cabana near the big ice cubes and use this card to open the door
and get the first detonator card on the desk. Use the CS to return to the main
room.
THE DESERT RANGER
Go back down the ramp
to the beginning of the level, where the crate with explosives is. Enter the
small cabana and use the detonator card to break a passage outside. Go in and
pick up submachine guns ammo in a dark corner to the right. Continue up (the
sight is in the SW corner behind a grate), jump the pit, pass the couple of
guards (spot another explosive crate at the far end) and open the door at the
right. Enter and find a new receptacle to put another detonator card and a
yellow bottle behind a grate; hear the fight sounds outside and go there: a
couple of wendigos appeared and killed the guards. One of them drops... the
desert ranger! Pick it up and go back to the main room. You'll be back here
later.
THE LASERSIGHT
Go to the SE corner of
the main room and go up the passage, enter in the opening on the right (perhaps
you have to duck when into) and in the new room drop into the hole (from a
corner 'cause the drills) and swim. Judge the first cylinder machine, continue
and find another two; you can pass here easily swimming over the right superior
part of them. Continue and get out of the water. Go to left passage (S), open
the door and left, at the end you'll find the lasersight.
Go back to the water hole and this time go N. Arrive to a metal room and find a
button near the grate, push it to open a door outside. Use the E ramp to go
back to the main room.
THE SECOND DETONATOR
CARD
Go to the NE side of
the main room and through the right tunnel up the ramp. Find the crevice on
your way in the left side and combine the desert ranger + lasersight to shoot
the swinging ball at the far end; this opens the nearby wooden door.
Enter and find a button at the very end of the S cave (this two wendigos
attack!?) and press it, this turn off the fire over the railway. Go there and
push the wagon to the very end, now the nearby fire on the grey floor is
extinct and you can pick up the second detonator card. Go back to the main
room.
THE AZOT BOTTLE
From the main room, go
back to the place where you pick up the desert ranger, enter the cabana and use
the detonator card in the receptacle. Go outside and right to enter in a golden
cave with workers. Let the workers, the wendigos will enter into the cave and
will kill them. Go to the SW corner and into the passage there, open the door
and pick up the Azot Bottle. Go back to the main room.
THE EXCAVATION AREA
KEY
Go to the NE side and
to the left tunnel, where the wagon is. Push the wagon to can pass to the other
side and go up the ramp and right where the green arrow fixes. This looks a
place to put a wheel, but no. Shoot this gray crate and enter in the highest
part of a huge cave. Walk over the pole and enter in the E cabana to get the
Excavation Area Key.
THE OXYGEN BOTTLE
Go outside and walk to
the S end of the wooden ledge. Spot the swinging ball in a niche at the far S
wall and shoot it with your desert eagle (you can shoot it with the vector
too); a rope appears. Use the rope to land over the icy ledge in the SE corner
(it's no easy, the rope is very short). From here a running jump with grab to a
metal ledge where the ball was, another running jump to a hanging metal ledge,
another to the hanging crate under the crane and from here a running jump with
grab to an ice ledge at west wall. Shoot the worker and judge the cylinder
machines to drop into the hole. Shoot another worker and climb the long ladder
avoiding the drills (left or right side).
Judge the next three drills and in the next room, get the Oxygen Bottle from
the shelves, explosive harpoons in the NE corner, shoot a grey crate to get
desert ranger ammo and shoot another grey crate in the high SW corner to return
to the main room (pick up first shotgun shells at left side).
THE CARBON BOTTLE
Slide the railway ramp and go left and left again through the tunnel
with the wagon you crossed before. This time go up till the very end, pick up
the shotgun ammo and open the door with the crowbar.
Continue to the low part of the huge cave you visited before and cross the
railway bridge.
In the next room shoot the gray crate and climb the first ladder, in the second
ladder you have to beware 'cause you have to jump back and the opening is
small. Once in the small bridge do a running jump to land over an icy ledge at
the N wall, another running jump to the next ledge and cross the rope to the
other side. Climb the next ledge and from here a single jump to the upper part
of the building. Take the Carbon Bottle from the shelves and go down via the
small bridge.
Cross again the railway bridge and spot a grey crate up the ramp. Go there,
shoot the crate, open the crowbar door and get SECRET#2 from the shelves:
desert ranger ammo. Go back to the main room.
OPENING THE BIG DRILL ROOM DOOR
Go to the SW corner of the main room through the wooden door you opened
when you pick up the sight and into a new room with a small crane. Now you have
to go left and cross the passage with the cylinder machines, it's a tricky
task. I got pass the first two cylinders ducking for the left side of the
corridor with some luck (you have to be full of life 'cause the cylinders will
harm you so more); the other two are not hard. Once in the other side cross the
pole, shoot the worker and pick up the access card he drops. Cross again the
pole and the cylinders corridor (this time is more easy) and use the card in
the receptacle near the metal door in front of you. Judge the drills and push
the button to open a nearby metal door outside, in the W wall of the main area.
Go out and find that door, inside go to the NW corner, climb the ledge, pick up
the submachine guns and use the key in the keyhole to open a nearby door.
Go out and always to the left to find that door. Before enter get the
submachine gun ammo from the table. Open the right door and place the three
bottles into their receptacles: a door in the entrance of the room opens. Go there and press the
button to activate the big drill, witch breaks the ice floor and lets you
descend by the ladder to find the opening to the Ancient Indian Sanctuary. What
danger waits for Lara?
