Background story (as written in the readme):
For thousands of years everything had been going smoothly in the fantasy world of "Sudeki“. But then came the time when war broke out between the good Tetsu and his bad brother. The powers of the Good competed against the Bad and, to the surprise of all, the final battle ended in a draw. The result was that Sudeki was divided into two parts and suddenly, two worlds in two spheres existed which were nearly identical. The one is “Hasklia," the world of the Good, the other is its dark mirror image “Akloria”. After that ruined incident, thousands of years went by in which “Hasklia” and “Akloria” developed separately. However, in the end at this millennium the borders between Good and Bad started to fall to pieces. It all begins with the attack of the population by unknown creatures in some rural regions of the kingdom “Illumina”. As the attackers cannot be located, the people want to protect at least the capital “Ilumina”, a magical shield for protection is developed. However, for it the people still need some crystals. Lara starts looking for the four crystals…..

Sudeki consists of 5 different places: Illumina, Shadow World, Castle, Inside The Castle and Metal World. There are 9 secrets to find altogether: 2 in Illumina, 2 in Shadow World, 3 in Castle, 1 in Inside The Castle and 1 in Metal World. All of these secrets are listed in the walkthrough below.

Part I - Illumina

Pickups: Old Letter, small medipack, Illumina’s Diamond + 2 secrets

Enemies: Wolf monster

Becoming aware of your quest:

Lara starts the adventure in Illumina, sliding down a slope in front of the gate to the capital. Run ahead to the stone wall and climb the block on the right. Continue climbing over the wall and down on the other side. Slide down to the ground. Here there's a closed gate in front of you, but we'll get back to opening that one later. Go over to the S wall and climb the ledge here. Turn left (E) and face the brick block in the S/E corner. Pull it out twice, jump down and climb up on the opposite side of the block (now facing W). Push the block once onto the black tile in the corner ahead and you'll see a shot of some ammo on a burning tile. As a result of pushing the block onto the black tile the fire is switched off, giving you free access to the ammo. But first you have to find out where it is. Turn to face the E and the entrance you revealed when pulling away the block. Follow the passage around the right corner and pick up the Old Letter laying on the ground. You will be shown a gate opening somewhere else. The letter reads (both in English and German): "To save Illumina you need four diamonds, which are hidden in four different worlds. Search them!"

Opening the gates of Illumina - finding Secret 1:

Go back outside and head past the slope and towards the N wall. Turn to face the alcove on the right hand side to see the gate you opened earlier. Go in there and turn to the left. Enter the room with the ammo and you'll hear a variety of the well known secret chime. Congratulations; you have found Secret 1: normal AK47 ammo. If you hadn't pushed the brick block
onto the black tile in the corner earlier, the fire on the tile where the secret was would still be on and you wouldn't be able to pick it up without burning to death. After picking it up, turn around and go back to the opening on the right.

Turn around (so that Lara is facing the N) and look up to spot a ladder. Jump up to grab it and climb up about halfway (until you can spot a black ledge behind her). Backflip, roll in mid-air and press Action as Lara slides down the black slope to grab the edge. Shimmy left until she can pull up in a narrow space (pressing the Duck key) to the left of the slope. Walk up the slope as far as Lara will go and do a standing jump into the opening above. Go ahead and pull the lever to open the main gate down in the area below. Slide facing forward down the slope and jump in the last second, grabbing the ladder ahead. Climb down to the bottom and leave this room. Now you can proceed through the main gates of Illumina.

Pool with swans - getting wet and wild under water:

Continue ahead past the two houses on each side. When you reach the block with the fire look to the right. In this house you need to bring the four diamonds once you've found them so we'll get back there way later. Go straight ahead to the lake with the swans swimming around in it. Here there are no less than 5 underwater openings: one to the left (S), two small ones and a large in the middle along the W wall and one to the right (N).

The middle and right ones on the W wall both lead to dead ends so they can be ignored. The opening in the S wall leads through a maze to a portal for when you're ready to depart to the next world. We'll start with the opening in the W wall first.

W wall opening- Alcoves and switches:

First head over to the leftmost opening in the W wall. Swim through and right, then left and ahead and right again at the end. Here there are four alcoves on the left hand side and an opening on the right.

*Note: if you start running out of air during your business down here swim through the opening in the right wall, turn left (N) and swim ahead and up where Lara can surface for air.*

Pull all the four switches in the alcoves along the left wall and once it's done swim through the now open black gate at the end and follow the passage until you can surface in another pool.

Climb onto the small island and from there do a running jump to the ground across from the pool. First turn left and you should see a black ledge leading towards a closed gate. Climb the ledge and pick up a small medipack, then go back down. Turn left and run straight ahead onto the dark brown, muddy area. Turn left to face the tall tree by the N wall. Go behind the tree and jump up while pressing Action to grab onto the ladder hidden by the tree. Climb the ladder up until Lara reaches a high crawlspace.

*Note: she can't climb into the crawlspace while her legs are tucked up on the ladder. To solve this let go of Action and quickly press it again together with the Duck and Up arrow key to make her climb into the crawlspace.*

Illuminas Diamond:

Climb through and when you reach the two openings among the leaves go through the right one (to the E, the one to the N is just a dead end). Continue crawling straight ahead and to the right at the end. Hang from the ledge and drop down into the underwater tunnel below. Swim to the right(left is only a closed gate) and follow the passage up and to the left. Continue swimming straight ahead (ignoring the empty opening on the left hand side), left, then right around the corner and finally right again. Swim ahead into the room where Lara can surface. Climb out of the water in the N/W corner. Turn right to face the block with the fire on it. Stand as far to the right as possible and jump to grab the edge of the block. Pull up and turn right to face the monkey swing above. Do a standing jump to grab it and traverse to the end. Let go of Action and press it again immediately to grab the crawlspace below. Pull up and push the lever and you'll hear a gate open somewhere else. Save your game here because you're in for a beastly encounter.

Turn left and head up the stairs to the gate you just opened. In the next room you'll among other things encounter a wolf monster. Now if you're like me and preoccupied with conserving health (and thus medipacks) this is the safest shot of doing it: Run over to the entrance of the next room and roll in the doorway. Run back down the stairs and jump in the pool. If you're lucky you should see that the wolf has followed you outside when you surface and thus you can climb onto the ledge with the two stars (the beast won't reach Lara here) and shoot at it from safety. If it runs back up the stairs to hide, you can lure it out by starting up the stairs and run back down and drop into the pool when it comes back. Climb the ledge with the stars again and fire off at it until it bursts into flames. If you prefer close encounters you can of course take it out up on its own ground on top of the stairs, but I found this rather difficult due to the lack of space Lara has to move around at. Once it's dead break the two golden stars with your pistols, climb the stairs again and re-enter the room where the wolf came from.

Head over to the right side and climb the box. Shoot the two golden stars and the box retracts. Turn to face the S wall and pull the moveable block out once. Go to the block on the left side of it and pull that one out twice. Go around it and enter the revealed secret passage behind it. Pick up Illumina’s Diamond on the floor. Congratulations; you have just found the first out of the four diamonds needed. Go back to the previous room and you'll see that the black gate in the S wall (to the right of the block with the burner) has opened. Enter the new passage and follow it out onto a bridge spanning across the pool with the two swans where you entered this area. Dive into the pool and swim through the passage from earlier, then swim over to the opening in the N wall.

N wall opening - Spikes and secrets:

Go through the opening in the N wall and squeeze through the crack on the right. Head down the tunnel, but be careful. As you can see spikes are popping up ahead so if you still have air left save your game here and proceed towards them. There are two sets of spikes and they luckily don't pop up at the same time so you have a chance of making it through without loss of health. Go as close to the first set of spikes as you can without getting skewered and wait until the first set starts retracting. Now you can gun it past the first set and if your timing is good the second set will start retracting at the moment you have passed the first one so you can just swim ahead and around the left corner unharmed. Aha, pickups ahead. And a very familiar chime as well. Since you might be running out of air already quickly swim and pick up Secret 2: the revolver and some ammo. Turn around and once more time your swim past the spikes. Gun it up the tunnel and out to the right to surface for air.

Exit - finding a portal:

Climb out of the pool and go back to the burning block, then enter the house to the N. From the doorway turn left (W) and insert Illumina’s Diamond in the purple receptacle (second from the left). Now go back outside and over to the pool with the swans. Dive in and swim to the S wall. Draw a deep breath, swim through the underwater opening and go the following route:

Right- through the narrow opening to the S- straight ahead- left- straight ahead- left- right- right- left- straight ahead- right and right again and finally straight ahead into the room with the golden whirl. Swim into it to be transported to the next part: The Shadow World.

Part II - Shadow World

Pickups: Small medipacks, normal AK47 ammo, flares, Shadow Key, Cross Of Shadow, Stone To The Secret, Shadow Diamond + 2 Secrets

Enemies: Baby spiders, beasts, huge spiders

Floating Islands:

After being transported from Illumina Lara finds herself in a hostile location, stranded on a black piece of meteorite land surrounded by nothing but thick fog. Oh and there are some other pieces of rock scattered around here (reminding a bit of the Floating Islands in TR2). Turn left and walk to the end by the dead trees, turn right to face the next piece of floating land. Walk down as far as you can and do a running jump to a small flat ledge on the corner of the next island. Turn to face the next one and do a running jump, angling Lara slightly to the right in mid-air and press Action to make her grab the edge off the next piece of black rock. Pull up and walk to the end, the triangular flat part in the right corner. Do a standing jump over to the flat part in the right corner of the rock ahead. Jump over the sloped part in front of you and pick up the small medipack that is partly concealed by a bush. Turn left and pull up onto the flat block where there's another bush. Walk to the edge and do a standing jump to the final piece of land with the dead tree on it, then proceed carefully towards the ramp leading into the building ahead.

Next stop Iceland - steam, flora and fauna:

On each side of the hallway ahead there are vents letting out clouds of steam. This steam is VERY harmful to Lara so be sure to avoid it at all cost. Walk up the ramp until Lara is about one step away from the entrance. To avoid taking damage from the steam stay to the right side and time a run past the first vent the moment the steam clears. The two next vents are close to each other, but if you look at them closely you will see that they let out steam in a different pattern. So time a run past the first vent when the steam ceases and as the steam in the next vent holds run past that one too. For the last two vents I could only find one method of escaping the sauna without taking damage at all: stand on the left side of the hallway as close to the vent as you can without Lara getting charbroiled. Turn left to face the wall (S) and take three sidesteps AWAY from the vent which is now on Lara's right side. As soon as the steam coming from the first vent stops do two consecutive sideflips to the right and if you have done it correctly Lara should have sideflipped past both steam vents without taking damage (the first sideflip should land her right between the two vents).

Pool room - getting familiar with the residents:

Walk towards the pool and turn left. As you get close to the partly cobwebbed opening ahead a party of five baby spiders will pour out
so pump lead into them until they're all dead. Now turn around and go over to the opposite side and through the N opening there. Go around to the left to the room with the blue crate and turn left again. Shoot out the left part of the fence and go behind it to pick up some normal AK47 ammo.

Now go back out and towards the closed gate to the W. It will open as you approach. Draw guns and take out the beast that comes to greet you from the left side ahead. Once it's dead go and explore this area further. But first head to the right to where the steam is hissing out of the black blocks ahead. You will see an opening under the black blocks where you can go and pick up some flares. There are six doorways in this courtyard: three to the W and three to the S. Enter the rightmost doorway at the W wall first. It seems we have walked into a spider lair. Baby spider lair that is......hopefully the spider mom won't be home for a while. Shoot all the baby spiders you encounter while entering the right doorway first. Go through the first dark doorway on the right side and around the corner to the right. Head around one more right corner and pick up the small medipack here. Go back out to where you entered this dark maze. From the rightmost entrance go left, shooting whatever comes along of baby spiders, past the first orange column. Face the W wall and go through the cobweb ahead and to the left. Here's a closed gate and a cross receptacle on the wall. We need a key for the receptacle so we'll come back here later.....this is just so you'll know where it is when that times comes.

Now head back towards the entrance (just to get oriented) and this time light a flare and head down the dark hallway to the left. Follow the passage around the right and left corner and then turn at the first right. Turn left again and go down to the second orange column. Here there's a high wall jump switch so jump up and pull it down. Should more spiders come to pester you do not hesitate with shooting them too. You're all done in here now so you can leave and go back to the pool in the other room.

Let's check on your skills - a tight timed run:

Go back right to the S room where you killed the baby spiders and enter here. Look to the left past the steam vent to see that a grate has opened in the floor right below the vent. Head into the room on the right side (carefully as to not get in the way of the steam oozing out from a vent ahead and on the left. Turn left by the entrance and you'll see a small switch on the wall (the E wall). This switch is timed, so save your game now if you feel you have to. As simple as the timed run might seem, to me it was complete agony. Remember the open grate below the steam vent that I mentioned earlier?? The gate that the timed switch opens is down there. Here's the drill: pull the switch and press Look to get the camera angle back. Turn left and run forward veering in to the right and go straight ahead towards the vent. Roll before you reach it and press Action. If you're clear so far Lara should roll and grab the ladder going down. Drop down to the ground (Lara will lose a little health, but I found it impossible to get to the gate in time when dropping down along the ladder). As soon as Lara lands turn a sharp left and sprint down the hallway towards the (hopefully) still open gate. Do a roll forwards while sprinting when Lara is about three-four steps away from the gate entrance to flip through before the gate closes.

"...Or try the salsa" - Lava room, fire blocks and eight-legged friends:

Oh boy, what a sight you're greeted with after all that trouble: a lava pool with burning blocks in it. You're going to have to make it to the other
side and that won't be easy. But before starting the hot stuff pick up the flares on the two blocks in each corner. Now let's get ready for some serious business a la flambé. Stand next to the black fence on the right side, straight ahead from the first burning block. Do a standing jump to land on the left corner of the block closest to the ledge you came from, barely avoiding to catch fire. Turn around and drop backwards to hang from the edge, then shimmy to the left turning one corner and pulling up before the second corner. If you've done it correctly you should be able to pull up without Lara catching fire. Turn around and do a standing jump while pressing Action to land at the far left corner of the next block.
From that position turn left and do a standing jump to the next block, pressing Action to make Lara grab the edge. Shimmy left around two
corners and pull up right before the third. Turn around and do a standing jump while pressing Action to land in the far left corner of the lower block ahead. Angle Lara slightly to the right and do a standing diagonal jump (still pressing Action) to end up at the bottom right corner of the taller block ahead. Turn around, drop backwards and grab the edge, shimmy right (but don't shimmy around the corner) and pull up. Turn around one last time and do a standing jump while pressing Action to land on the safe ledge in the S/E corner of the room. For help with this process see screenshot number 1 here:

screenshot

Look towards the right and do a standing jump (still holding down Action) to land in safety. Well, almost safety. Draw guns and run straight ahead past the cobwebbed opening on the left hand side taking down a baby spider on the way. Continue up on a slightly raised block in the corner, turn around and take out the big spider that came along with the small one. Enter the cobweb covered doorway that the spiders came from. When you reach the next opening with cobwebs covering it stop. Position Lara on the right side along the wall, as close to the brown floor beyond the doorway as possible without stepping on it, and angle her slightly to the left. Look to the left to see a glowing skull tile on the left wall. If you bring out the binoculars or flares you will see that there's a dark ledge right by it. The brown tiles ahead will crumble under your feet and you must get to the dark ledge below the skull tile before being sent plummeting to your death in the lava pool below.

Run along the crumbling tiles, veering to the left at the end and press jump together with Action to make Lara grab the ledge below the skull tile. Pull up and before pulling the switch beware that it's a timed one. It opens the gate behind you and to the right. This should be fairly simple though: pull the switch, turn to the right, run a few steps ahead, jump at the edge and angle Lara right in mid-air to make her land in the doorway before the gate closes.

Emptying the pool and finding a way out:

In the next room take care to avoid the lava pit in the N/E corner. Instead proceed towards the far wall and turn left. Pick up the flares by the W wall and turn around. Climb the slightly slanted block ahead and turn towards the block on the right hand side. Jump onto it and from there jump on to the flat block by the W wall. Jump over the slope ahead and follow the ledge to the left (walking as to not accidentally slide off the blocks). Drop onto the flat ledge below and go as far towards the E wall as possible, then turn right and jump into the alcove where you can pick up a small medipack. Go back outside and do a standing jump back to the ledge you came from. Follow it to the end, drop down on the block below and look up on the W wall (using the binoculars or a flare). From here you should be able to see a crawlspace. Go as far down on the block as you can without sliding off and do an angled standing jump while pressing Action to grab the edge of the crawlspace. Pull up and crawl until you reach a gap in the floor. Turn so that Lara's back is against the gap, press Action and the down arrow key together. Shimmy to the right around two corners and pull up on the other side. Continue crawling to the next gap, but this time shimmy right around the first corner and pull up. Pick up the small medipack, hang from the ledge and shimmy around the next corner to the right. Now you can pull up and continue crawling until Lara stands up.

Follow the passageway around and up the stairs to the top. Turn right and do a running jump with grab over to the ledge with the lever. Pull it and you'll see a shot of a familiar-looking pool, now all empty. Go to the left side and do a running jump into the doorway which is partly covered with cobwebs. Head up the hallway, killing a baby spider on your way, until you reach a small slope with a steam-spewing vent below it. Stand on the edge of the slope and when the vent stops letting out steam slide down, run ahead and to the right and out through the doorway on the left. Recognize this place??? Well, minus the beast running around your heels that is. Either take it out by flipping back and forth while firing or do it the easy (and harmless) way and run straight ahead and drop into the pool. As the beast runs away, climb the block in the S/E corner, jump and grab the edge and shimmy left until you have the block in the middle of the pool right behind you. Pull up and backflip onto the block and voila: you have a pain free way of dealing with the beast. If it runs back into the garden where you killed the first beast jump over to the ground in front of the gate and backflip onto the block in the pool as it comes running out. From there you can kill it from complete safety.

Down in the basement - cage puzzle and a secret:

When it's dead drop into the pool and flip the newly revealed switch on the E wall. Climb out of the pool and go through the N hallway, where a gate has now kindly opened for you to go through. Go along the hallway and head down the stairs into the basement where some ominous sounds greet you as you enter. Ahead you will see a huge spider. Luckily it's stuck in a cage by the left wall......but for how long???? Pass the spider cage, taking care not to go too close, and kill a baby spider ahead. Continue around the left corner and on the right hand side are some four steps, all with switches on top. But beware, not all of them are as safe as it might seem. Some of them will set Lara on fire if she pulls them. Go to the second block from the left (when facing the blocks) and you might be able to see a blue line painted above it. This is your clue: pull the switch, draw guns and turn around.....you've got company. This switch opened the cage with the huge spider in it and now it is thrilled to be free and out for a snack. Get rid of it and when it's dead head W and follow the hallway around the corners until you eventually come back to the open cage.

Enter it and pick up the small medipack in the left corner. Leave the cage and go over to the differently coloured floor tile. Stand on the right side of the burning block and jump while pressing Action to grab onto it. Pull up and turn around (carefully so that Lara doesn't catch fire) to face the wall. Jump up and press Action again to grab the edge of the slope above. Don't pull up though, but shimmy to the right until Lara can pull up at a flat area. Push in the moveable block to the E as far in as it goes and turn left to face a hidden alcove where you can pick up Secret 3: a large medipack. Drop back down to the ground.

Turn right and go around the cages again until you reach the side with the other two burning blocks. Face the W wall and climb the rightmost one the same way as with the other one, but be sure to climb it on the right side of the block or else Lara will catch fire. Turn right to face the ledge above and pull up onto it. Walk onto the skull tile on the left side and you will see a block raise over by the open cage. Go back there and climb the raised block, then pull the switch. You'll hear a trapdoor opening somewhere else. Head over to the open cage and enter the doorway ahead leading through to a different cage. As soon as you pass the cobweb covering the entrance, turn right and climb the ladder up through the trapdoor you just opened. Go around the corner and climb down the ladder into the opening here. As soon as you hit the floor draw guns and take out a baby spider crawling around in the cage. Head over to the W part of the cage and pick up the Shadow Key laying on the ground on your left hand side. You will be shown a fly-by leading you all the way back to the pool area and more specifically it leads to a keyhole next to a closed gate. A none too subtle hint I would say. But before going back there turn around and go through the passageway past the ladder you came down by and into the next cage.

Pick up the flares in the S/E corner, then head back to the ladder and climb up. Continue through the passage, down the ladder, leave the cage and go back up the stairs. Go to the right and use the Shadow Key in the lock here to unlock the green gate. Pick up the Cross Of Shadow and go back through the gate where you killed the two beasts earlier.

"Are we there yet?" - Secret # 4 and the Shadow Diamond:

Head through the middle doorway in the W wall and go straight ahead to the closed gate. Place the Cross Of Shadow in the receptacle on the left side of the gate to open it. Now draw guns and enter the hallway beyond the gate. Oh woe.....there are two beasts frolicking in the garden on the other side of the hallway. If you like the safe approach run over to the pool to the left and ahead and, standing at the taller parts of the bottom, keep plugging away at them from safety. If they run into the hallway you came from or anywhere else in the garden where your bullets can't harm them climb out of the pool and jump back in as they draw nearer. If you like to handle them the tough way suit yourself, but take care not to accidentally flip through the steam coming out of the vents straight ahead from where you entered the garden.

Once the beasts are taken care of go over to the S side (the building you entered from will now be on Lara's left side). Look up towards the building. There's a ledge up there, but it's slightly out of Lara's reach. Easy solution: stand facing the wall as far to the right as possible (with the small slanted block right behind her). Backflip onto it and immediately press jump and forward together with grab and she will bounce of the block and grab the ledge. Climb up, go through the crawlspace to the end and pick up the Stone To The Secret before going back out and dropping down to the ground.

Proceed over to the small pool and jump in. Turn to face the E side. Under the water to the left there's a very narrow opening. Press the jump key to make Lara jump up in the air and as she lands in the pool swim through the opening. Swim straight ahead and around the right corner. Continue straight until Lara reaches a large flooded room, turn left and go to the S/E corner. Swim up the opening here, face W and go straight down the tunnel, around the left corner and straight again until Lara reaches another flooded room. Head right and look up on the right side to spot an opening where Lara can go up and surface for air. Draw a deep breath (save your game if you like), turn Lara to face W, get ready for the next swim and dive back down.

Head into the passage straight ahead, around the right corner and go on through to the next room. Ahead of you(N wall) there are some blocks with circles on them at the bottom and above the middle one there's an opening: go through there, around the left corner, then straight, one more corner to the right, straight and up where you can surface in the next room. Climb out of the pool and drop down the first step towards the room ahead. A huge spider crawls in so either take it out in close counter or climb back up on the step where you got out of the pool where you can wait for it to occasionally crawl by for you to kill at leisure.

Enter the room and take care of one of its smaller relatives before heading over to the S/E corner of the room where there's a small alcove with a burning torch. Enter the alcove and use the Stone To The Secret in the sun receptacle next to the gate. Go into the room behind the gate that opens, you'll hear a familiar chime and you can happily pick up Secret 4: normal AK47 ammo and a large medipack. Leave this room and go around the right side of the pool and over to the wall ahead (N) where the burning blocks are. Climb the block to the left carefully to avoid catching fire, turn left and pull up onto the ledge above.

Now turn to face the pool. There are four stone columns ahead, cutting the ledge running between them into two parts. You need to do a running jump to the left part (opposite the portal block in the middle of the pool). Do a running jump over to the portal block, but do NOT press Action; if you do Lara won't make it. Without pressing Action she'll barely manage to land on the block. Pick up the almost transparent Shadow Diamond on the block and you are immediately transported back to Illumina.

Illumina Revisited

From the starting point run straight ahead until you can enter the room with the diamond receptacles to the left. Turn left again inside the room and place the Shadow Diamond in the red receptacle to the left of the one containing the Illumina Diamond. Once that's done leave the house and go left. Continue straight ahead until you reach the two houses on each side.

Run up the hill right before the house on the left and go behind the building. There's a tree on the left hand side by the N wall and behind the tree is an opening. Enter here and the gate closes behind you. Never mind that, but continue down the passage and right around the corner. Here's another portal so jump into it to continue your quest.

Part III- The Castle

Pickups: Small medipacks, normal AK47 ammo, Pool Key, flares, Castle Key + 3 Secrets

Enemies: Wolf monsters, bats, skeletons

Castle Gardens:

The next part of the quest starts outside a mighty castle. Go ahead towards the pool and turn left. Proceed to the N/E corner of the garden and climb the block in the corner on the right hand side. Turn right and jump while pressing Action to pull down the jump switch there. Now drop down from the block and retrace back to the pool and, facing the castle, you'll see that an underwater gate in the E wall of the pool has opened. Dive in and swim through the gate and straight ahead. When you reach the junction go right (there's just a dead end to the left) and continue around the corner to the left and ahead again. At the next junction first go right and pick up a small medipack over by the closed gate, then turn around and swim straight ahead and around the left corner. First swim left and surface. Climb out of the water and pick up the normal AK47 ammo, then dive back in. This time swim straight ahead and you can eventually surface in a different pool somewhere else on the castle grounds.

Before climbing out of the pool though be sure you are ready and fit for fight. I found no less than three wolf monsters running around the castle garden.

*Note: Unlike earlier it's very difficult to kill them by back flipping onto the fountain in the pool, because it will be harder to cause damage to them from there. But I found that taking them out on close hold was quite simple and didn't take that long, even with the pistols only. The kills will be even easier if you lure them out one by one and use the pool for cover if necessary. A good advice would be to run around the entire garden, taking them out as you encounter them, before doing the rest of your business here so that you won't have to be jumped at when unaware. Take care so that they don't fall on or very close to the black crows on the pedestals flanking two sides of the pool as these are switches and might not work if the wolves land on them when they die(unlike many other enemies these don't disappear when they fall, but drop to the ground and burst into flames instead so make sure they don't land on anything you can use or pick up).*

Dropping, climbing and swimming- finding Secrets # 5 and 6:

From the pool go over to the E side. Straight ahead there's a tiny white shed decorated with a sculpted cherub. Go towards the shed on the left side and as soon as you reach the wall right by the little tree turn right (S) to face the wall. The ground here is slightly raised so stand at the tallest point and press the jump key together with Action to get a small surprise: Lara actually jumps up and grabs the roof of the shed. Pull up and stand with Lara's back to the hole in the middle facing W. There's a ladder on the wall going down behind her so climb down there and along the way you'll hear the secret chime. At the bottom pick up Secret 5: a large medipack and climb back out. Drop down to the ground and go back to the pool.

Run past it with the large S gate on Lara's immediate left and go on until you reach the W wall straight ahead. Turn left and take a mental note of the rusty window in the W wall, the balcony above and the ladder in the corner of the E wall opposite of the balcony. Climb the ladder until you can see Lara passing over the balcony railing, then backflip onto it. Pick up the normal AK47 ammo on the balcony and pull the switch. Watch the following fly-by carefully to see where you're going. Ok, so you see the rusty window below, some goodies beyond it and an open entrance ahead. We need to find that entrance in order to get the goodies, so let's go for it.

Stand up against the balcony railing facing the ladder on the wall ahead. Do a standing jump over the railing, pressing Action to make Lara grab the ladder. Climb down to the ground and go back to the pool. Dive in and swim through the underwater opening and head for the following route back to the garden where you started the level: straight, then left (E), around the corner to the right and turn into the first opening along the right wall (W). Swim straight ahead, around the right corner and into the first opening on the left. You can now swim straight ahead, up and exit the pool.

Go to the right (N) and turn to face the wall on the right just before the corner block where you pulled the jump switch at the beginning of the level. Here you'll see the open passage leading down to the goodies and the rusty window. Enter the passage, you'll hear the secret chime and you can finally pick up Secret #6: more AK47 normal ammo and a more powerful weapon - the AK47 rifle. Leave the passage, go back to the pool, dive in and swim back to the other part of the garden(see the first paragraph if you still have problems navigating in the underwater tunnels).

Rattlin' bones - underground maze and first walkway:

Climb out of the pool to the N and head straight on past the willow tree to the right of the black crow pedestal. When you reach the third willow tree turn left and go straight ahead to the W wall. There's a block here that is slightly more off-white than the rest of the wall; this is moveable. Push it in twice and go left and around the corner. Shoot out the bars on the left and continue down the ramp. You'll start hearing the ill-divining sound of popping spikes. When you reach the junction ignore the right side and go left instead. Drop down into the opening and head W until you reach the opening. Look down and you'll see the spikes you've been hearing all along. There's no way Lara is going down there so instead angle her to
the left and do a standing jump over to the other part of the hallway.
Continue ahead and around the corner to the right.

Follow the tunnel around until you reach another opening. Drop down there and pick up the small medipack, taking care to avoid the spikes I mentioned earlier. Climb up where you came from and follow the passage back, going past the torch on the wall and continuing until you see a closed door ahead. Go left into the passage from earlier and look up. There's an opening here and you can pull up on the N side. Do so and as there's nothing to the right go left instead. Drop down through the hole in the ground and continue your journey down the hallway to the S (there's nothing at all of interest the other way). Drop down into the next hole and continue following the passage until you reach an opening above with a cobweb covering it. From the hallway you came from stand right where the opening in the ceiling begins and turn to face away from the slope opposite and above. Backflip onto the slope while pressing Action and jump together and Lara will bounce ahead, grab the jump switch on the opposite wall and pull it down. Continue down the passage below the slope opposite of the jump switch (W) until you reach a room with a cross-shaped walkway, a pool and three passages blocked by gates. Luckily in two of the cases, because there are skeletons running against each of the gates to the right and left. If you look up you'll spot two more cross-shaped walkways above and another skellie running free on the topmost one. There are also some bats flying around on the top level so run along the walkway trying to shoot them first, jumping into the pool to attract them down to your level if needed. The switch next to the right cage naturally opens the gate, letting the skellie out and onto your back. There's no need for pulling that switch though as there's nothing in that cage you need. It will just cost you health and AK47 ammo so ignore it.

Instead jump in the pool and swim over to the N side. Dive under and swim below the walkway, still facing N, and if you're facing slightly upwards you should be able to spot a switch under the walkway. Pull it and uh oh.....you have just let out the skellie in the left cage so immediately pull out of the water and get out that AK47 rifle to shoot it into the pool and get rid of it for good.

Now enter the cage it came from and run straight ahead and to the right. Turn to face the right wall and position Lara with her left side up against the N wall, then jump up to grab the crevice above. Shimmy around the right corner and pull up onto the floor above. Continue out to the second level walkway.

Part 2

Second Walkway- Secret 7:

When you step onto the second walkway turn right and go past the golden snake statue and through the doorway next to it. Ignore the opening to the left, it only leads to the slope where you pulled the jump switch earlier, and go around the corner to the right and into the next room where you can pick up Secret 7: some more normal AK47 ammo (if you hadn't pulled the jump switch earlier before entering the skeleton room spikes would have been popping up all around it). Go back outside and look closer at the two golden snake statues. There's an almost invisible sort of sphere above them, shoot both of those to open the gate to the N. Go through the gate, but careful as there's a room below at the end loaded with popping spikes.

It took ages before I eventually figured out what to do next, but once I did it wasn't all that hard after all. Stand on the right side of the edge and turn slightly to the right to spot a ladder on the wall ahead (this one is a regular wooden ladder which by all means stands out from the rest of the wall). Do a running jump to grab the ladder and climb as far to the right as you can. From the top of the ladder go three climbs down (pushing the down arrow key three times), then backflip and do a roll in mid-air and press Action to make Lara grab the alcove opposite where she can pull up to safety. But we're not done quite yet. Jump straight up to grab the monkey swing above and traverse ahead and to the left. You'll reach a small ledge at the end so either drop down there and save your game or continue traversing right and all the way up to the top of the slope. Run ahead and out on the topmost level and blast the skellie off the ledge with your rifle. Go to the block in the S/W corner and pick up the Pool Key and you're shown back down to the ground level by the pool where another gate opens. Make short process and dive into the pool, then climb up on the walkway and go through the until recently closed gate to the N.

Caution: traps ahead:

Continue down the hallway until you reach some stairs and a blade trap. Hug the right wall, go as close to the first blade as you can without slicing Lara and as it starts retracting run past it, veering right around the corner. Stop immediately, because there are more blade traps ahead up the next couple of steps. Continue hugging the right wall and go as close to the next blade as possible at all. As it slashes towards you jump ahead while pressing Action to land on the step just a millimetre out of the blade's reach. To get past the final blade go as close to it as possible, still keeping along the right wall, and as it goes towards you run up and past it. Enter the alcove on the right and pull the switch on the right wall. The fly-by will show you exactly where to go and the result will be you looking onto a raised block out in the garden. If you've followed the fly-by closely you'll know where to go and either way there's only one obvious path to take so I'll suffice it to say head back to the garden and climb the raised block (it's located S of the white shed where you found one secret earlier). Turn to face the balcony to the W and do a standing jump while pressing Action to grab it. Jump and grab the red roof and pull up. Walk to the sloped part of the roof on the right side and do a standing jump over it. Head over to the two grey, moveable blocks straight ahead and pull out the rightmost one two times. Go behind it and pull the switch on the right wall. You'll see a fly-by once more of the garden area below and this time a trickle has turned into a pool. Climb over to the red roof the same way you came, slide down to the flat part and drop to the balcony below. Do a standing jump from the edge where there's no railing to land on the raised block.

Head over to the white shed and pass it on Lara's left side over to the small pool you just filled with water. wade in and you'll see a narrow crack in the E wall (between the tree on the right side and the fountain on the left). Save your game and prepare for more underwater, labyrinthine fun.

Underwater maze:

Draw your breath, because this a tough nut to crack. I have split the explanations into three parts: locating the lever, catching breath and heading for the exit.

*Locating the lever: swim through the narrow crack in the pool and go straight ahead into a large flooded room. Go right and continue swimming until you see a stone pillar on the left. Swim behind it (to the S/E corner) and there's an opening where you can go down. Continue around the left corner, then right corner, make it a first right, around the left corner and then a right one and swim up. Position Lara facing W, swim around the right corner and pull the lever here. Now you probably don't have much air left to use so hurry on with the next part.

*Catching breath: swim back down the way you came up and quickly head around the left and then right corner. Go around two more corners to the right, then a final left corner and up where you can surface for some air and get ready for the final swim.

*Heading for the exit: position Lara facing the N, swim down, around the right corner and straight ahead. Swim up through the opening here, turn to face the S, go around the right corner, straight and the finally up to surface in front of a now open gate.

Enter the next room and go right. Position Lara so that she's standing on the slab of pointy rock facing the N. Jump straight up and grab the ledge above, then shimmy right and pull up onto the flat area. Face the S wall and angle Lara slightly to the left, then jump onto the slope ahead and slide down, grabbing the edge on your way. Shimmy all the way to the left as far as possible (but don't go too close to the left wall or Lara might just slip off the slope instead of back flipping), then pull up, backflip and roll in mid-air and press Action to land her safely on the ledge behind. Climb the slightly higher block on the left and do a running jump to the flat ledge by the ladder in the corner. Climb up the ladder to the top and use the Pool Key in the lock on the left next to the gate to open it.

Pool Rooms - finding the Castle Key:

From the entrance go right and pick up some flares in the alcove to the right. Drop down from the alcove and continue to the right. Go behind the horse statue at the end and turn left. There's a very dark alcove behind here and if you light up the place with a flare or the binoculars you'll notice that there's a crawlspace here up on the wall for you to go through. Crawl through it, drop down on the other end and pull the switch here. This raises a block out in the pool room. Crawl back out and head over to the horse statue in the S/E corner of the room. Go behind it, turn to face the right (S) wall and look up. There's a jump switch up there so stand about three steps away from the wall on the left, jump up and grab the switch. When you now go back to the pool area you will see that there's an opening down there in the middle.

Swim down there and follow the passage until you can surface in a room with a huge Mona Lisa painting. Climb out of the water and enter either of the 4 doorways along the E wall. Here you'll find four switches and what you need to do is to (counting from the left side) pull switch number 1 and 3.

*Note: there have been occurrences where players have reported that saving the game AFTER pulling the first switch here will cause Lara to be impaled when pulling the third one. This didn’t happen to me though. The only solution that has been found is to reload a previous savegame.*

Go back outside and you'll find that two blocks have raised in the pool.
Climb the lowest one up to the top one and do a standing jump plus grab to get to the doorway ahead. Continue down the passage, turn around to face the room with the pool and look up to spot a ladder. Climb up to the middle of the ladder and backflip/roll onto the white block behind. Pull the switch here to raise a block in the pool room with the horse statues. Jump to grab the ladder, climb down, drop into the pool and swim back to the other pool room.

Go over to the horse statue in the S/W corner and you'll see that a small block has raised here. Climb it and turn left to see the other block you raised earlier. Turn to face the white structure in the middle, then do a running jump towards the flat ledge ahead. Press Action just as Lara hits the ledge to make her grab onto it (if you press Action too early she'll miss the ledge). Go left and pick up the small medipack under the middle pillar, then turn to face the S. Step onto the ornate block and pick up the Castle Key.....finally!!!! A fly-by will cut in, showing you the way out of this room and back out where you came through the pool and into the garden to the keyhole behind the closed gate. Dive into the pool below and climb out to the N before heading out through the gate you came in by. Climb down the ladder, turn to face away from it and run straight ahead off the ledge while pressing Action. Continue pressing Action as Lara slides down the slope and she will grab the edge. Drop down to the room from earlier and head right, left around the corner and out to the pool. Get ready for the final swim of this level.

Getting back to the garden:

Dive in the water and swim right around the corner and straight ahead. Continue the only possible way: around the corners and down when you reach the opening below. Face W (which is the only possible direction to go) and continue swimming, then make it a first right. Continue straight ahead and at the end turn into the second passage on the left (ignoring the first one). Go around the right corner and swim up through the opening. Now position Lara to face N, then swim straight ahead and to the left between two stone pillars. Straight ahead you should be able to see the opening in the W wall. Swim through it and continue to follow the passage until you can surface in the small garden pool.

Entering the Castle:

Get out of the water and run straight ahead and back to the main pool. Now it's time to use the black crow switches on the pedestals flanking two sides of the pool (I mentioned this near the start of the level). Go behind both of the pedestals (facing the crow's tail) and press Action. Lara will then start turning the top of the pedestal around. When she does that on the second pedestal the large gate to the S opens. Go in there and use the Castle Key in the keyhole to open the door on the right side. Go through the door and you'll proceed to the next level.

Part IV - Inside The Castle

Pickups: Torch, small medipacks, Crown Jewel, Castle Diamond + 1 Secret

Enemies: Bats, wolf monster, fire wraiths

The basement - opening a way out:

You start the level in the castle basement. First go ahead and turn left to face the stairs. Proceed forwards, draw guns and deal with a couple of bats fluttering about. Once they're disposed of there are three things for you to take note of. The first thing is the unlit sconce on the left hand side closest to where you entered, which we'll get back to later. The second thing is that on top of the stairs there is one closed gate to the left and two closed doors middle and right. And lastly, look closer on the white tile between the two suits of armour by the W wall. This tile opens the door to the right on top of the stairs, but it is timed so you have to hurry getting there. It isn't too hard though. Stand with Lara's back to the white tile, hop backwards onto it and run/jump up the stairs, veering to the right and through the open door. Once you have entered the room beyond the door will remain open for the rest of your stay in the castle.

The library - finding and using the torch:

Continue up the stairs and through to the library. Go down the stairs here and turn left to face the fireplace. Head over to it and go around it to the left and there you should find a torch on the floor. Pick it up and head back up the stairs leading down to the library. Light the torch on the lit sconce to the left of the library entrance and go down the stairs and back to the basement with it. Once back down there light the unlit sconce using the torch you just fired up and head on up to the library again.

You don't need the torch for the next couple of tasks, but you will need it later on. The library is a good place to drop it, but be sure you know where it is for later. Go over to the right side of the fireplace and run past the fire, being careful not to get too close. At the back of the fireplace there's a crawlspace high up on the S wall. Crawl through and drop down into another section of the library. Ignore the stairs ahead, the doors up there won't open. Instead go left and over to the block in the S/E corner, behind the pink chair. There's a moveable block there, so push it in twice. When you can't move it any further, turn left and push in the block there twice as well. Follow the now open passage through to the pool room.

Pool room - finding Secret 8:

First let's get a bit familiar with the area, to save grievance for future tasks. To the E there's a small antechamber. At the end there's a closed gate leading out to a garden, we'll get back to this in a moment. As you enter the antechamber turn left. Right next to the tree there's a tile looking slightly different from the rest of the grey stone floor. If you go over to it and look up you'll see a hole in the ceiling and a jump switch on the N wall, which unfortunately is far too high up for Lara to reach......at least for now. The tile below the switch is in reality a block which can be raised, but before finding out how to do so let's go back for this level's only secret.

Go to the pool room again and dive into the water. Swim to the N wall where there's a blue tile in the middle. Don't let appearance fool you though, Lara can actually swim through it. Do so and go around the corner where you can pick up Secret 8: a large medipack. Swim back outside and get ready for a timed run.

Opening the garden gate - a short timed run:

Exit the pool on the W side and turn to face the fountain block in the middle. Do a running jump to land in the middle of the fountain, this raises the block below the jump switch in the antechamber. Continue running and jumping off the fountain block in the last moment, rush through to the antechamber, making it a hard left and jumping straight onto the timed block. Run to the wall, jump up and press Action to grab the jump switch and pull it down. If you have managed to do this successfully the garden gate to the E will open.

Garden business - dealing with local wildlife and opening a way out:

Draw guns, run into the garden and immediately turn right, ready to take down the wolf monster crawling in to ambush Lara. Show it where David buys his beer and once that is a done deal turn to face the pool room again. Look up at the red roof above the entrance to the pool room. Stand on the right side of the ramp exactly below the edge of the roof and jump up to grab onto it. Shimmy right and Lara will grab onto an invisible crevice. You can now shimmy around the corner until Lara reaches a high jump switch. Position her directly above it, let go of Action and press it again immediately to grab the jump switch and pull it down. Doing so opens way for you, but where???

Go over to the E wall (opposite the entrance to the pool room) and look right....a passage has opened for you here. Enter the passage, go left and continue around the hallway. When you reach a ramp going down on the right side, roll around and get ready for a hasty retreat. A pesky fire wraith starts chasing you, so run back around the corners through the passage, into the garden, left and through to the pool room where you can dive in and get rid of the unwanted company. Once it has put itself out of your misery head back into the garden and through the passage all the way to the ramp where it decided to join you.

How about some traps - sharp blades and narrow escapes:

This time go down the ramp and around the corners until you reach some massive clanking blade traps. These aren't necessarily easy to get through, but it can be done without losing any health at all if you take your time and measure each jump and run carefully. Stand in front of the first blade as close to it as possible without taking damage and position Lara so that she's facing the opening between the two blades. As they clank together and start opening run through and past the blades, but take care to stop before running into the next blade trap. Position Lara here the same way you did for the other blades, as close to the middle as possible and walk up until you can't go any further without being sliced.
Once you've ran through those two you have a fairly long way to go before the next trap, but uh oh....what's this???? Two set of blades, set up pretty close together and right after the last one there's a slope going down to a burner.

Time your run past the first set like before, but this time be extremely cautious to stop the moment you pass the blades to avoid being hit by the next set. But don't worry, the next run isn't as hard as it might look. Step as close to the slope as you can, sticking to the middle like earlier, and as the blades open run ahead and start sliding down the slope. In good time before reaching the end and the burner jump ahead and grab the ladder opposite. Climb up to the top and follow the passageway around the corner.

Here you'll run into another hallway lined up with blade traps. Line Lara up in the middle facing the opening between the blades and as close as she can get. As the blades start opening run through, but stop immediately. Ahead is another set of nasty blades, but these are set up right in front of an opening in the floor. And of course that opening isn't leading down
to anything but another burner trap. Getting past is easier than it looks though, as long as you are careful and take it slow. Position Lara like before, but instead of running through when the blades open do a standing jump ahead and press Action. If all went well Lara jumped past the clanking set of blades, over the opening in the floor and grabbed the edge of the opening opposite. Now pull up and repeat the same process with the final two sets. When all this is finally over run into the treasure chamber ahead.

Treasure chamber - retrieving the Crown Jewel:

Upon entering the room go to the immediate right, behind the chests of various size until you reach a small, wooden one. This sort clearly differs from the rest, not only in design, but because they can be opened and often hide various useful objects. Open this one to find a small medipack. Go back to the middle of the room and get ready for a bit of a tough challenge. First of all look towards the stack of crates lined up along the right wall. In the middle of this stack there's an opening leading out to a hallway. At the end of the hallway there's a dead end and a glass trapdoor above which will open in a little bit. Be sure to note that Lara can't run off the crates and into the opening, she has to vault down (facing away from the opening, pressing Duck, Action and the down arrow key together).

Now go over to the W wall, shoot away the square wooden chest and behind it you'll find another chest that can be opened. Make sure to prepare yourself (at least mentally) before you do so though. When you're good and ready open the chest and Lara picks up the Crown Jewel. You'll see a shot of a familiar room from earlier and as soon as you get control over the camera, run over to the crates on the right and climb up. Proceed
quickly, because now a fire wraith is all over your back, so head over to the opening in the middle of the stack, vault down and as soon as Lara lands on the floor roll and run down the hallway. At the end pull up through the now open trapdoor that I mentioned earlier and jump ahead into sweet salvation in shape of a well familiar pool.

Now that this nasty creature is no longer a problem of yours climb out of the pool to the W and go back through the secret passage you made by pushing and pulling the moveable blocks near the beginning of the level. Go through and back to the library.

Opening new ways - placing the jewel in the crown:

Crawl through the crawlspace back to the fireplace in the other end of the library and run past the fire. Head into the curtain-covered opening to the N/W and here you'll see a sight we've seen before: the room shown in the screenshot as we picked up the jewel earlier. And Lara just won't stop looking over at the little crown on the pedestal to the left so take that as a clue; head over there and place the Crown Jewel in the crown. The fly-by that cuts in will show you a door opening and if you watch carefully you'll also see where. Leave the throne room and go back to the library where you can pick up the torch again. Now head up the stairs, then through the opening ahead and down the stairs into the basement where you can enter the stairway beyond the now open door.

The final task - the quest for the Castle Diamond:

On top of the stairs turn left and light the unlit sconce there. Head down the hallway and there's another sconce for you to light. As you do so you'll hear a door opening so turn around and go back to where you lit the first sconce. You can now enter the master bedroom. Here you can drop the torch as you won't be needing it anymore. Follow the left side of the bed and eventually you'll drop through a concealed opening in the floor. Run down the dark tunnel and at the end climb up on the E side. Push the block there once and not only have you revealed a further passage, but also a switch. Pull it and you'll see a gate opening somewhere else. Enter the dining room and pick up a small medipack to the right. Go through the room and enter the doorway to the S/W. Surprise: you're back in the hallway where you lit the sconces earlier.

Go down the stairs again and this time you can go right and through the now open gate. Follow the green ramp to the end and turn to the right to behold a wonderful, yet almost sad sight: the Castle Diamond and
the portal that is ready to deport us away from this wonderful castle and back to Illumina. Watch the final, gorgeous fly-by of the areas of your past exploration on the way to getting the diamond and when it ends step into the portal, pick up the Castle Diamond and you are transported back to Illumina once more.

Illumina revisited - again

Go down the slope ahead and turn right. Run down the path until you reach the house with the diamond receptacles. Make a stop in there and place the Castle Diamond in the blue receptacle to the right. Only one more diamond to go now. Leave the house and go straight ahead, passing the burning block on your right hand side. On the opposite side you'll spot a small square of grass which far away looks like it has brown spots on it, but if you move close enough you'll see that the spots are small holes, revealing that there might be something below. If you have problems locating this spot see the second screenshot here for further reference.

screenshot

Stand up on the slightly slanted block facing E. Drop backwards while pressing Action and Lara will tuck her legs up on a ladder. There is indeed a concealed opening below the grass here. Climb down the ladder to the bottom and turn right. Follow the passage to the slope and the gate will close behind you. You'll see the final portal at bottom of the slope, but
unfortunately there are also some burners between it and you. This was doing my head in until I could finally figure out how to get past the burners and into the portal. If you stand approximately at the middle of the slope and look up and ahead you should be able to spot a part of the ceiling looking slightly different. This is indeed a monkey swing. Start sliding and
when reaching this area jump up to grab it. Traverse ahead as far as you can and to the right. Drop down and press Action again immediately to grab the ladder below. Stay as high up on the ladder as possible and start climbing to the left. Continue climbing left until you reach the portal and are instantly transported to the final world.

Part V - Metal World

Pickups: Flares, small medipacks, Magnetic Key, revolver, Main Door Key, revolver ammo, laser sight, AK47 normal + super ammo, Technical Room Key, Metal Diamond + 1 Secret

Enemies: Robots, cyborgs

Metal maze part I - Lighting things up a bit:

Ok, so you start the final adventure inside a pitch black metal maze. There are two switches that must be located: the first one turn on the power so you can have some light down here and the second one opens the way out. Bur before doing anything else stoop down and pick up the flares located right where you start out. Light one to be able to see what you're doing and then head straight ahead down the hallway and under the steam hissing out of the wall. The metal pillar ahead of you lowers as you approach so continue on down the hall and past two more pillars lowering. When you reach the junction turn left. Head past the lowering block and turn left again at the next junction(to the right is only a dead end). Go along under the steam oozing out of the wall above and straight ahead, on the S wall, there's a switch. Flip this and voila: you have turned on the lights in the maze. Now to find the way out.

Metal maze part II - Finding the exit:

After pulling the switch turn to face W and go ahead and through the first opening on the right hand side. Go straight ahead and past the pillar ahead which lowers on your approach. Straight ahead again and past another lowering pillar we go and when reaching the junction go right. Ahead are some goodies to pick up so go down there and grab the small medipack before continuing around the right corner and past the lowering pillar. Right before the second metal pillar ahead there's a jump switch on the right (W) wall. Jump up and pull it down only to see one pillar lowering and a block raising somewhere else. Turn right and head back where you came from (N). Go left around the corner and straight ahead you'll see the block you just raised. That's where we're going so when you reach the block climb it and turn right where you can pull up into a crawlspace.
Unfortunately this isn't getting easier as we go along. Steam is pouring out of the wall ahead and surprisingly enough I actually found a way of going past it without losing health at all. My method is the following: hug the right wall and crawl as close to the steam as you can without Lara taking damage. As the steam holds for a second immediately crawl forwards once (not holding the duck key) so she stands up and instantly press the roll key. She should now roll past the steam pipe over to the other side. Turn around to face opposite of where you came from and when the steam stops again crouch and quickly crawl forwards.

Drop down on the other side and turn left. There's some rough opposition for you: a robot is standing at the other end of the hall. But as you approach it the metal pillar between you raises. Don't fret, you'll be getting to him in a moment. For now turn left and spot the slightly brighter block in the wall. Push it in twice. I found that here I could go back to the entrance and the pillar there would be lowered again, but only until I stepped back into the hallway. Standing on the right side of the entrance I found was a perfect spot to attract the robot down to your area.

*Note: actually I also found that it dropped down from the ceiling. If you can't see it anywhere, but you do see a circular shadow on the ground it will most likely drop down as you approach- this actually happened to one of the gladiators in the custom level Alexander's Tomb Part 2 as well.*

The robot can be killed quite easily if you peddle backwards while pumping lead into its chest. If it backs you up against a wall jump over it, roll and continue the process. Once it's dead continue your mission and go back into the hallway where you pushed in the block before. Push it in once more and then go around it to the left (facing E) and push it once more to reveal a metal pillar lowering on your left hand side.

*Note: if you haven't dealt with the robot already you'll meet him here.*

To the right there's a dead end, so go left instead and past the lowering pillar. You'll see a lever behind a rusty window to the right, but we can't get to that yet. Head on straight past the second lowering pillar and we're out.

Welcome to Metal World - meeting some inhabitants:

Take a moment to enjoy the view of the old metal works and the über-gorgeous music. When you have, it's time to drop down from the walkway and explore the area below. If you follow the left hand side (hugging the S wall) you'll eventually come to a block where you can climb up (to the W). There are two openings here; the one on the left can be ignored for now as there's nothing of interest there, but take a mental note of the locked door and keyhole in the opening ahead (W).

For now head over to the exact opposite side (N) where the pool is. Jump over to the white stone blocks and slopes on the right hand side and climb up to the top as far as you get. Turn to face the S wall and locate a moveable block here. Push it in three times and turn to face the left passage you revealed. Head down the stairs and there you'll find the lever you saw through the window from the metal maze earlier. Now is a good time to pull the lever. You'll now find that a metal grate outside has opened and revealed a water filled hole in the ground. And to spice up the excitement there's a cyborg guarding that exact opening. This is a tough guy too and he's loaded with firearms shooting harmful bolts at anything moving within its radius. But before dealing with him jump in the water and swim through the opening near where you climbed up. Here there's a small medipack for you to pick up. While you're first in the pool swim over to the right (across from the brown house) and pick up the Magnetic Key in the N/E corner. And now let's get back up there and kick some cyborg butt.
One way of killing the cyborg without losing too much health is to climb out of the pool where you came from and run towards it (zigzagging a bit to avoid damage as much as possible) until you get over by where it stands. Here you can pretty much run in circles around it while pumping out lead until the demeanour falls. Or you can do it the safe way I did(losing no health at all): swim through the pool and climb out on the right side of the brown house. Stand approximately in the location and position shown in screenshot 1 under the “Killing the first cyborg” paragraph here:

Holster any weapon if you have one drawn as that will make it harder to estimate the angle over to the correct location. Run and jump over to where the pipe meets the block (as shown in the second screenshot shown at the site mentioned above). From here you can draw guns, jump up and down and successfully fire at the cyborg, whereas it will only hit the corner of the metal block and you will take no damage whatsoever.

After it's dead head back to the pool (left side of the brown house), jump in and climb out of the water next to the metal ladder to the left. Climb up to the top, turn left, follow the walkway around and finally do a standing jump over to the revolver. Pick it up and go back down the same way you came up.

Finding a way in - getting the laser sight:

Once that is taken care of head over to the opening in the ground that the cyborg was guarding and dive in. Swim down and over to the W wall, then turn right. Pick up the Main Door Key from the bottom and swim back out. Now remember the door I told you to take a mental note of earlier??? That's where your newfound key goes, so go back to where you can climb over the white block and use the key to open the main door. Follow the passage until you can drop into a large room. There's a receptacle for the Magnetic Key you picked up earlier right ahead, a closed door up to the left of it and toxic pools below. There are besides glass panels all around preventing you from getting anywhere. Go back to where you entered and turn to face the glass railing on the right side (if facing the entrance). The first one(on the left) is breakable so shoot it out and do an angled running jump to land on the left side ledge where you can pick up some revolver ammo. Do a running jump back and insert the Magnetic Key in the receptacle. This opens the door to your left. But before going in there stand on the walkway facing the doorway and do a sideflip to the right and over the plexi glass panel. Go around to the left where you can pick up the laser sight. Now go back and do another sideflip to the left over the glass panel back to the walkway in front of the open doorway.

Do a standing jump over in the doorway and go through to the other side. Turn around and drop from the opening to grab a ladder below. Climb down and when you reach the end drop and instantly re-press Action to grab the opening below. Pull up and pick up the revolver ammo here. Drop backwards off the ledge again, grabbing the ladder and climb to the left and then up back to the opening you came from first. Climb the ladder over to the left and climb up (the blue wall above is all climbable, apart from the far right side of it). Climb up to the middle, above the door you came through and about halfway up and then backflip onto the ledge past the glass panels.

Go through the large open window in the middle and head to the right. There's a jump switch up on the E wall. Jump and grab it to open a door
somewhere else. Approach the window you came from carefully. There's now a cyborg guarding the opposite side of the walkway to the left. Either run down to it with its blasts flying around you ears, firing non-stop until it falls. Or do a safer approach (recommendable if you're conserving health, but don't mind wasting a few revolver bullets). Stand in the position shown in the fifth screenshot on this page:

Arm Lara with the revolver, aim for the creature and fire until it falls.....it won't even know what hit it. Either way, once it's dead go over to the doorway it guarded and enter the hallway beyond.

Toxic Pool Room - acquiring the Technical Room Key:

Here you'll get a quick fly-by of the area: toxic pools, some pickups and two robots guarding the room. Do a running jump to grab the edge of the pool surrounded by the rusty fence ahead. Walk to the left and turn to face the small walkway between the toxic pools. Do a running jump over to it, being very careful not to drop off the ledge and into the toxic pool. Don't even bother trying to take out the robot running around up to the left, there's no use in it at all. We'll deal with that later. Instead go over to the E side and drop down on the floor here. Pick up the flares to the left and then head straight into the passage where you can turn the first wheel. Head over to the exact opposite side and around to the left where you can pull up onto a flat piece of walkway and go through the opening to the left to pick up some revolver ammo by the toxic pool. Go back to where you turned the valve and climb onto the ledge by the pool to the left. Go around it and jump to grab the top of the middle machine. Turn right, jump and grab the top of the machine with the ammo on it, pull up and pick up some AK47 normal ammo. Drop back down to the floor and go back out to the pool. To the right there's an orange ladder going up from the toxic pool and on the top there's another pool and the rather hostile robot I was telling you about before. Do a running jump and grab the orange ladder, climb to the top and either take out the robot face to face or run straight ahead and into the pool. Here there's a ladder so you can climb up whenever the robot is on its way to the other side, draw guns and pump some lead into it, then jump back in the water as it gets close for cover and repeat this process until it falls.

Climb up on the orange ledge around the pool, face N, arm Lara with the revolver and shoot out the grate up on the wall ahead. Do a standing jump from the right side of the crawlspace and grab the grate below it. Climb up and pull into the crawlspace. Pick up the Technical Room Key and drop back down into the water below (or simply drop down, grab the grate and
climb right on the blue wall until you can drop down on the orange ledge surrounding the pool). Do a running jump back across the toxic pool and enter the room where you picked up the AK47 ammo on top of the machine earlier. Between the leftmost and the middle machine there's a keyhole on the right side, use the key you just acquired to unlock the grate in the floor across from the middle machine.

Metal Maze number II - wheels turning and Secret 9:

Drop down there and run all the way to the E, then push in the moveable block here once to reveal a hallway to the left. Go down the hall and turn the two wheels on the right wall; the one to the right (when facing them) lowers a pillar that reveals a hallway across from the wheels. Here there's another metal pillar ahead and a crack on the right wall which is too narrow for Lara to go through. The wheel on the left lowers a metal pillar revealing two more wheels. Go N and turn the left corner where the two new wheels are (to the right you'll only find a dead end.....for now). Turn the two wheels here; the rightmost one raises a metal pillar, cutting off the dead end hallway to the right. The left one lowers the metal pillar by the left hallway. Shoot out the grate on the left wall and crawl through. Doing so lowers a metal pillar on the opposite side (where I mentioned the narrow crack in the right wall). Crawl out of the crawlspace and go back to where the two first wheels were. Head down the hallway across from them where the metal pillar now is lowered, revealing a new section of the maze. Go all the way to the end and pick up Secret 9: AK47 super ammo and a large medipack. Congratulations; you have now found all the secrets that are to be found in this adventure. Now it's time to find the fourth and final diamond.

Control Room - opening a way out:

Head back down the hallway until you can turn left and go through a new passage. Turn left again and turn the wheel here too. Turn around and go down the E hallway, then make it a first to the left. Follow around the corner, then go right. Head straight and around the right corner and you should be facing yet another wheel. Run ahead and turn this too. You'll see a shot of another pool and the ground will shake ferociously. Turn around and go straight ahead down where you came from. Turn left around the corner and continue straight, then follow the passage left and around another corner, straight again and when you see the crawlspace ahead turn left again. Continue E past the two wheels on the left side and make it a first right. Go on straight ahead and when you reach the far wall turn right and start down the hallway where you dropped down earlier through the grate in the floor. The grey metal texture on the left wall below the opening is a ladder so climb up to the top and go through the now open gate to the N (between the rightmost and the middle machine).

Follow the passage and head up the first set of stairs, around the left corner and up the next set. You are now in the control room above the pool area and so is another robot.

*Note: I found that when entering the control room the robot was stuck running against the machine by the N wall. If this happens you can actually go by without killing it, but if you insist on dealing with the tin can you must go as close as you can so that it will get unstuck and start moving about again as you can't get a clear shot of its chest when it's stuck there.*

No matter what you choose go towards the E wall and right into the alcove where you can turn yet another wheel and you'll see a shot of another one of the pools below. Go back downstairs and now you'll meet another robot in the room with the floor grate. To easily dispose of it run over to the S ledge and climb up there. You can now turn around and shoot it from above. Once it's done turn around and jump over to the opposite pool (facing S). In the middle of the S ledge there's a glass panel which you can easily sideflip over. Lara will fall into the empty pool below, losing a little bit of health in the process, but that's the only way I could find of getting over there. Climb the ladder on the right side (facing the W) and pull up on the ledge where you can pick up a small medipack to amend for the health loss.

Metal Maze III - globe puzzle and the Metal Diamond:

Climb back down into the pool and start down the opening in the W wall. Head down the hallway to the end. Here's a moveable block which you must push in three times. Enter the room beyond and approach the metal pillar to the S which will lower, giving you further passage. Follow the hallway until you come to a junction. Drop down to the floor and go to the right where the metal pillar lowers. Run down the hallway, past the steam pipe and lowering pillar, until you reach the left opening near the end. Go through there, to the end and right at the junction. Climb the small block, turn left and jump up in order to grab the jump switch high up on the wall. You'll get a shot of a hallway illuminated by a blue light.

Drop down from the block and go straight down the hallway to the pink globe at the end. Pull it out three times, then go past it and into the left hallway. Pull the globe with you three more times (until it is positioned on top of the lowered metal pillar), then go into the left alcove where the blue light is and pull it towards you one more time. Jump over to the opposite side of it and push it twice into the blue alcove. You're shown a glimpse of a metal pillar somewhere else. Leave the alcove and head right (W).

When you reach the end go right again (Lara should now be facing N). Continue ahead and go into the first passage on the right side. The metal pillar in front of you lowers, revealing another pillar in the right alcove. We'll get back to that in a moment. For now go straight ahead (E) and turn left at the junction. Go over to the pink globe here and pull it out once. Jump over it, turn around and push it once. Run past the globe into the right passage and pull it with you in there five times. You can now go left into another blue alcove and pull the globe once with you into that alcove. Jump over the globe, push it as far into the alcove as you can (it takes two pushes) and it's done. The metal pillar I said we'll get back to lowers, finally revealing the last diamond.

Leave the alcove, go right and then left into the passage where you can pick up the long awaited for Metal Diamond. Follow the hallway to the next metal pillar, it will lower and you will see the final portal ready to take you back to Illumina for the last time. Approach the portal and off we go, far away from cyborgs, rusty walkways, maze-like hallways and toxic waste.

Saving Illumina - the last visit

Turn left and climb back up the ladder. Pull up to see the light of day once more, turn left and go over to the house with the receptacles. You can now place the final diamond in its rightful receptacle on the right wall. Climb the block that appears to your right and pull the switch. Now it's time to sadly watch the final fly-by of the now safe Illumina and its inhabitants. And that is the end of this amazing adventure.
