An alternate walkthrough by D&G Productions follows this one.

Start the level after the short flyby that ends with Lara standing on the dock. Go forward along the building and look north; you can see the faraway restaurant that you can reach by swimming crossing the marina, but leave it a while as you visit there later. Turn right, see the door with the keyhole, and from the other left side another door and a few tins from both sides. Proceed further toward the alley and take care of two thugs. Kill them both and get their medipack and the Front Door Key, then run up the stairs, you see the keyhole for the library that you find later.
However, climb onto the wall from your right, then take a running jump forward across the gap, grab the brown sloped roof and climb up. Go and climb onto the next balcony and go toward the tins; shoot on them, you find the Restaurant Key. Now climb onto the next glass roof, kill the thug, then look for the UZIS.

Go back where you saw the first keyhole and use there with the front door key. Enter the building and climb on the first window, get the revolver ammo, then go toward the ladder and climb up to room above; you have to deal with thug. Kill him and go to next window, climb up and get the REVOLVER. Go to next ladder and climb up, you find yourself on the roof. Take a look around and see there is a keyhole to open the attic door. Now look north and see again the restaurant and part of the city; nice air view indeed.

Turn east and stand facing the sloped roof. Run and jump over the sloped roof, drop and grab the edge, shimmy left and drop onto the red roof. Run and jump to next red roof and the one after it, face to the crack, jump and grab it and shimmy left until you can climb into the alcove. You are now above the restaurant square. Don't drop down yet, as you need to explore the place beyond the sloped wall from the right. Jump and grab the roof edge and shimmy left, climb onto the wall. Go forward, then jump to the next red roof, from here take a jump over the top of the slope, slide down to a small courtrard. Kill the thug and get his clips, then enter the garden. Pull the jump switch at the right side of the waterfall. The ball from the top of the waterfall will drop down and smash the crate, then pick up the Circuit.

Kill the thug who is shooting on you from the high wall and then head west, climb on the wall and slide down to the restaurant square. Open the restaurant with the key, enter and kill the thug and get his revolver ammo. Meantime, the door closes behind you, go around the counter, pull the block and pick up the Attic Key. Now keep to pull/push the block and place it onto the wooden board, it will open the restaurant door. Get out from restaurant and head toward the fountain; get the clips, then jump to the water and take a swim across the marina, climb out onto the opposite dock.

Once again enter the building and climb to the roof, this time open the attic door with the key, enter the room. Throw the switch, it opens door down nearby the dock at the short passageway, then head toward the window and shoot on the glass. Kill the thug in the opposite balcony, run jump from the red roof over the balcony and get his clips. Jump back, grab the edge of the red roof, climb up and enter the room again. Go outside and stay on the roof, stand east facing toward the sloped roof as you do earlier.

Take a jump toward the roof, grab the edge, drop and grab the crack, then shimmy right until you reach the ladder. Drop down onto the sloped roof, roll and jump forward, grab the edge of the alcove right behind you. Climb into it, you can get the crossbow normal ammo, but it's not all just for this. Light a flare and see better the hidden block, pull it out two steps, then grab the edge again and shimmy right, climb beyond the block and throw the switch.

The doors with the tins from both sides are open now. Go through there to another part of the city and first jump into the fountain, open your eyes and find the Library Key. Now you can take a free enjoyable tour around the area, not much to do here, just gather an impression of the place and feel the atmosphere.

Time to leave, go out through to the door you entered from. Back to the short passageway, enter the room you just opened when you been up in the attic. First, get the flares, now place the circuit in the panel; see through the screenshot the gate and the underwater door are open in the marina. Now throw the switch in the second wall, see double doors opening the boathouse in the canal. Get out from the room and jump into the canal, swim to the boathouse and find the SECRET PLACE, pick up the Gold Ingot from the bottom, then climb up onto the dock, pick up more clips and kill the rats. Head toward the switch and throw it, see thug and dog waiting for you on the dock outside the boathouse. Swim over there, climb out onto the dock and kill them both, get the crossbow normal ammo the thug left behind.

Now make your way over the library keyhole and open the doors. Enter the library, see from left a switch, it only closes the door. Kill the rats, then go through the passage with the glass walls toward the next library, get the crossbow normal ammo from the right window. Proceed further, kill the rats and later the thug to get his clips. Now go behind the west bookcase a few steps forward to load the next level which leaves you in the right place you were standing before.

Go down the stairs to next library, head west and kick in a door. Take care of the thug attacking from the back and get his Floodgate Key. Stay in this small room and if you look up above Lara's head you'll see the jump switch. Climb up on the bookcase, move left and take position above the jump switch. Drop and grab the jump switch pull it down, it will open trapdoor in one of those bookcase outside. Notice you can climb on any bookcase and pick up the clips, then you also can see the trapdoor you just opened. Right now don't climb down and press on the switch, it's open timed double door, but you need to do something else and later you came back here. However, get down from the bookcase, throw the switch to open the double door and get out to small courtyard. kill the dog and look on the wall, there is keyhole could missing his key. Anyway, pick up the clips and go through the opening door outside to the dock, jump to the canal and swim north, the level will load again.

You are standing on the other side of the dock; Go forward turn left through the short passageway Jump into the marina and swim through the underwater door you opened earlier, when angle camera shows you the next dock with the keyhole and the closed door. Use the floodgate key to open the door, enter inside the passage and load again the level from the right point, but from now on you are at second part of the city. Turn left to next room and pull the switch, it raises up the gate in the canal near the dock where is the exit from the library. You can use this later as a shortcut. Anyway, back to the passage and climb up to the empty room above, then keep climbing up to next room, shoot on the tin and get the clips.

Back the passage and load the level again, make your way back the library by swimming through the marina and later through the doors you opend with the key. In the library load the level again, go toward the bookcase and climb back onto the one with the open trapdoor. Now prees on the switch, it show you double doors opening, as I told before it's timed doors. Okay, climb out when you are onto the bookcase turn lfet and drop down. Run toward the opening door you are outside of the library, jump into the water and start swimming left along the canal past the gate you opened earlier. While at the same time you swim further, you can see the opening timed double doors in front of you.

Climb onto the dock and quickly passed the open double doors. Those doors will close behind you, but you can open them with the switch nearby. Get the crossbow ammo from the left side, then keep further to NW corner and pull the block from the wall. Enter the short passage, then climb up to room above, kill the thug in the front of you. Now jump over the fence and land onto the chandelier, from here run and jump over the next fence, go to the right and pick up the flares. Head left, follow the hallway, look for the switch at the third window from the right side. Press on this switch, it raises up a gate in the canal at the first part of the city. Now you can proceed further on this hallway and load the level again, but it does not give anything.

Make your way down outside this building, head toward the right side, climb up the stairs, it's a dead end but a thug will follow after you. Kill him and take his clips, turn back to the dock. Jump into the water and swim forward along the canal and further underneath the gondolas straight ahead through the gate you just raised and see the jumpswitch on the wall. Climb onto the ledge, get the flares, look back and see the wooden door. Now jump and grab the ceiling and monkeyswing toward the wall with the jumpswitch, drop and grab the switch to pull it down.

Swim back to the ledge, climb onto it and see the wooden door is closed now and you can climb down to next ledge. Swim over the columns and further climb on the ledge with shooting thug. Finish him, then light a flare and enter through the opening to a SECRET PLACE, go the right corner, pick up the Gold Coins (it also will open double doors). Turn around and be ready for a thug attacking from the back, kill him and take his revolver ammo. Get out from this place and jump back into the water, swim back the ledge, climb out then jump and grab the climbable wall and climb up to the ledge above. Jump into the canal and swim back toward the dock and climb out. Head right, pass the double doors you just opened, enter the small marina, proceed further and kill the rat on your way and meantime the doors will close and a thug will attack you. Climb the left stairs, enter the room, there you can pull the switch and open the next double doors outside.

Go through the doors you opened and load again the level, this time with a flyby that shows you the theatre and finish with a focus on Lara. Head west, follow the street until until you reach the black gate with a keyhole, proceed to the dead end alley and shoot on those tins to find the Control Room Key. Turn back up the street and turn left at the next street, run forward then climb onto the boxes. Keep running further along the street until you reach the hallway, then get down the stairs. Turn right behind those boxes, you'll see double doors with keyhole. Climb onto the boxes and get CROSSBOW GUN. Back to the hallway, keep down a few stairs and see another keyhole that matches the control key you have. Leave it a while and proceed down into the theatre, take a short visit at the theatre and wait for the thug to show up. Kill him and open big eyes, even put on you glasses if you have, look very carefully as this thug will drop the tiny Gallery Key.

Now back to the keyhole, use the control key to open the door and enter the control room. From your left there's another keyhole and closed doors, turn right, go toward the opposite wall and pull out the block. Pass the next open door and slide down directly to the big fans, light a flare, you can see the key beyond those fans. Go left and to the right see the closed door, turn and go to the other side, pass the open door. Jump into the water, get the flares, swim forward and see the underwater door, proceed left and pull the underwater lever. Swim through the open door, follow the underwater passageway, when you reach the large space swim up, turn right and left into the small opening. Keep swimming a little forward you had to choose left or right, keep to right then left into the room ahead, take deep air. Swim to bottom and pick up the Circuit, now swim back toward the small opening, but keep swimming forward turn left into the alcove reach the SECRET PLACE.

Pick up the Golden Skull and make your back to the fans. Light again a flare, go to left and climb up from there. Turn facing the ledge above the fans, jump and climb up onto it, avoid from the swinging crates. Head to other side, from there jump forward and climb up the top of the slope, a take jump over the open door, you're back to the control room.

Back to the hallway, climb up the stairs and turn left to key hole near the boxes, use the gallery key to open the doors. Get the medipack from the right pedestal, then go left (avoid from the boulder). Take a jump over the fence, grab the sloped wall, shimmy right to other side, then backflip and try to land in the next gallery. Get the Key from the pedestal, then go through the open door. Kill the thug who comes from the dark place, get down the stairs, avoid from the boulders in front of the doors and back to the theatre. Kill the dog and thug, pick up the clips, then back to the control room.

Use the key to open the doors and follow the passage to the dressing room. The left passageway brings you to the stage, but first look around the dressing room, get the flares then kill the thug. Nothing more to do, so head toward the stage and place the circuit at the panel, it turns off the fans. Cross the stage, enter the next control room, apart from an angle camera you'll not find here anything. Back to the stage and climb up the ledge above, get the crossbow explosive ammo and climb down. Jump into the pool that separates between the stage and theatre, climb out and back to the control room. Slide down back the fans, go through the open door behind the fans and pick up the Street Key.

Make your way out from the theatre back to the streets, head toward the black gate you saw earlier. Use the street key to open this gate, follow the road, turn right around the pool, pass near the coffee shop. Head forward around the next corner, go through the open door into a trap of thugs and their giant big boss with two guns in his hand. After you get rid of them, notice the big boss will drop his Bartoli's Key. Use this key to open the doors and go up the stairs, meet Winston, Lara's old butler, he always finds a bad time to serve the coffee. Anyway, you see the keyhole near the door but you really do not need one, just push the double door. Climb up to the roof, then head toward the helicopter, catch the flyby and finish this level.

The Theatre of Venice

We won’t mention all the Enemies, only relevant ones, due to size of the level it was split up and the level will change at many points, we will not mention them.

Story:

"Marco Bartoli wants to get his revenge on Lara for taking away the
Dagger of Xian. In order to get it back he kidnaps Lara's butler Winston
and takes him to a theatre in his hometown Venice. There he threatens to
kill Winston. When Lara hears about it she immediately travels to
Venice where she has to fight against Marco Bartoli and lots of his men.
Will she succeed in rescuing her butler?"

Revolver.

After a flyby, showing the City of Venice, go E and around the corner, a closed door to the R and another one to the L, go S through the narrow Alley to come to a small square, up the stairs are some big closed doors (Library), which need a Key first, your main concern for now is those two Baddies. After doing them in you’ll find a Front Door Key and a MP. Return to the docks and open the door to the L. go in and get the Ammo from the first windowsill, then climb the ladder and hear another Baddy grunting upstairs, backflip off and turn L run to the far windowsill and jump up, quickly get the Revolver and shoot him with it. Climb the next ladder to the terrace on the roof.

Rooftops.

Go down to the roof W and then climb to the N side roof, shoot all those Garbage Bins and get the Restaurant Key from one of them. Turn L and climb up the roof W of there, get the Uzis from one of the Skylights. Go back down to the brown roof S and safety drop from the S side onto the pier below. Go N and swim across the canal to the NE, arriving on a small square with a terrace.

The Restaurant.

In the fountain is some Ammo, climb out again and head towards the E doors and open them with the Restaurant Key. Shoot a Thug to get his Ammo and go behind the counter, a pushblock NE can be moved to reveal the Attic Key. Now push the block to the W side to re-open the doors and back you go. Out to the square, over the canal to the docks and into the house there to go up the ladders again, on the terrace is the door that needs the Attic Key.

The Attic.

There’s a switch inside to the R, pull that and a door (to the Circuit board room) opens in the passage to the canal below. Now shoot the window S and shoot the Thug on the opposite balcony so he will drop his Ammo. Runjump to that balcony and get it, runjump/grab back to the red canopy you came from and head back inside, go out to the terrace and do a runjump to a roof SE (near the ladder down). Grab the edge and drop/grab to the crack below. Shimmy R around the corner to a ladder and wait till Lara gets her feet up, then backflip/roll/grab the ledge behind. Go get the Ammo L and then pull out a block in the N end of that ledge, drop/hang from the side of the ledge and shimmy R past the block go into the alcove to use the switch, which will open a door below (opposite the front door). Jump/grab back to the ladder and do drops down into the alley, go L and into the newly opened door E and through a darkened passage to Sunset Square.

Sunset Square.

Go into a fountain in the middle of the Square and find the Library Key there in the SE corner. Take it back W and out to the Alley. L to the small square with the steps and go up to those big doors, open them up with the Key and go in.

The Library.

To the L on coming in is a switch, don’t use that, it will close the doors, but go straight into the room W, climb a (climbable) bookcase to the L and go get the Ammo, on the N wall is a painting you can shoot and in the alcove behind it you’ll find some Ammo. Go back down from the bookcase and go up the stairs N of the Library entrance and pass over the walkway to the other side of the Library. Lots of Rats here and some Ammo in the first windowsill E. A Thug will also show up when you reach the back of the hall and he will drop some Ammo. You can choose to climb the bookcases to shoot him from above. When you finally go into the NW corner, the level will change.

Go to the lower floor of the library and in the NE corner is a small door you can kick in, a Thug shows up shoot him to get the Floodgate Key. Then climb the L side bookcase in that small cabinet and go L over a Jumpswitch, drop/grab and see a trapdoor open up (for later, don’t go in there yet and DON’T use the button in there yet or you’ll encounter a bug later). Get out of the small cabinet and to the L is a small door the will open for you, it’s a shortcut back to the 1st part of the level and you’ll need it later so be sure to open it.

Open the big doors S with the switch and go in to a small square with a gazebo, under the gazebo is some Ammo, approaching a small door in the E wall will open it up and you’ll create another shortcut by doing so, it leads to the same Back canal as that other small door in the Library. Go out that door and swim to the E, climb out L and go through that dark alley to the docks, to the L in the alley is a door you opened before, inside the Circuit board room are Flares and to the R of the Flares is a Circuit board that lacks one Circuit . On the opposite wall is a switch that will open big doors to a Speedboat, use it now or later.

The Circuit.

Head back out and L to the Canal, go R and to the Front door, up that ladders and from the terrace to the roof SE, shimmy L now and drop onto a red canopy, runjump to the ones N and from the last one you can grab the roof again, shimmy L a bit and drop/grab the crack in the wall, go around L and pull up in the alcove there. Runjump out NE and grab the roof upon sliding off, shimmy L till you can pull up and go over to the N side, runjump to another canopy and then jump over the roof E, shoot a Thug on that terrace and get his Ammo. Follow to that garden E and find the fountain, to the R of the fountain (on the dark surface) you’ll find a Jumpswitch, pull that and a Boulder will crush a small box that was standing in front of the fountain, inside was the Circuit, so grab that and go back to the terrace W and climb up the ledge SW, climb over the W roof on the L side and slide down to the square at the restaurant, go to the Canal and swim back SW.

Climb out at that passage to the Circuit board room. Now place the Circuit and see a gate open up N over the Canal. Did you pull the switch on the S wall already? If so, go out and to the Back (S) canal. Swim into the open doors S and R into the Boat house. Under the boat in the SW corner is Secret #1, a pile of Gold Bars. Climb up at the boat and go get the Ammo S, in the SE corner is a switch that will show a Thug and his Dog near the Circuit room, swim back there and take care of both, pick up the Ammo dropped by the Thug. Dive into the Canal and swim through that narrow, open gate N and follow to the back L, climb out on the L walkway where you can open the door with the Flood gate key. Go in and L and on the wall to the R is a switch that will open yet another gate outside. Go out and dive into the canal. Go L around the first corner and find 2 big doors to the R, the second set near the red docking pole will open a bit later in a Timed run. Go swim L (S) again and come through the gate you just opened and into that dark canal at the Library, to the R on the walkway is that small door to the Library you opened before, go in and now you can go up that SW bookcase and climb to the top, go down into the open trapdoor (if not open, go check the NE corner of the room for a small cabinet with a Jumpswitch) and save in front of the button as you’re in for a timed run (if you used that button before, go back to an earlier savegame as those doors will not be open when you get there).

Timed Run.

Push the button to open some big doors. Backflip with roll and run to the ladder, jump up and grab, quickly go over the to and you can’t run off, you have to turn slightly L and jump/dive (Alt+Shift) and Lara will dive through the lower ceiling and roll on the ground floor, to end up in front of that small door giving way to the walkway along the canal, turn L and sprint to the end of the walkway, then jump off with a little R curve and swim back to that doors you saw before. Climb out and run in just before they close, the switch to the L of the doors will open them again.

Go get some Ammo SE and then go to a pushblock in the NW corner. pull it out and go around to enter the passage, turn around in the end and climb up the wall ladder, into the first opening to take care of the Thug. On the balcony you will spot another balcony SE, you can jump there by going over the first chandelier. On the SW corner are some Flares, then enter the E passage and follow to the second windowsill R and push the button there to open the gates near the Library garden. Nothing else here, so you can return to the canals, outside you can shortly visit a passage to the R on the walkway to shoot a Thug that will show up for some Ammo he drops. Then go back down and dive into the canal.

The Floodgate.

Swim S and past the Library doors into the newly opened gate. Notice a Jumpswitch on a L wall and go into the last room where a small UW door is open. Climb out to the R and turn around, grab the wooden ceiling and go swing back to that Jumpswitch, drop/grab to activate it and that small door will close, a big Floodgate will open beyond that and the water level drops in that S canal. Climb out near that small UW door again and go dive down into the water there, swim into the room with the pillars and climb out S, shoot the Thug and go crawl into the small opening S, in a dark corner to the SW is Secret #2, a pile of Gold Doubloons (cutscene of the doors R of the Timed doors opening up). Shoot that Thug and get his Ammo. Then go out again and swim back through the Floodgate, climb up the block and jump/grab the ladder near the small UW door. Follow the canal back to the N and to the walkway near the Time door, now enter those doors to the R.

Small Harbor.

There are some steps on the W wall that lead into the Harbor Masters office, the doors you’ve entered from will close and a Thug appears. Inside the office is a switch in the SW corner, doors will open N of the harbor, go out and through those doors to get a flyby of the Theatre.

The Theatre.

Head NW over Theatre Square and into the W street, leading to a closed gate, to the R of the gate is an alley, go in and shoot the Bin to get the Control Room Key from it, return to the Theatre Square and to the E side and around the Theatre to the entrance steps leading down and go R when you come to the landing, there are some big doors that need a Key, to the R are some crates and on the lower crate you’ll find the Crossbow. Go back to the stairs and down again, to a small door W that can be opened with the Key you have (later).

Go on down the stairs and come into the Theatre, go R down the steps a bit and a Thug will show up from behind, shoot him to get the Gallery Key, if you go on to the water, take care as there are Sandbags falling down as you walk under them, you will have to be on the constant lookout for those things in this Theatre.

2nd Library Key.

You have to return upstairs where you found the Crossbow and open the Gallery with the Key, go onto the balcony and get a ½ MP to the R. Then turn around and carefully go to that roof W, you have to runjump R over the balustrade and grab the edge of the roof, shimmy all the way to the other (N) side and when you can’t go any further at the balustrade, save and pull up, backflip/roll and curve hard L to land on the N balcony, get the 2nd Library Key there and enter the big doors. Go on over the landing and down the stairs to the L, coming back into the Theatre a Thug and his Dog attack, get the Ammo and head S onto the S side staircase, to the R is a small door you can open with a Key in your possession.

Control Room.

Inside go N (L are doors for later) and in the middle of that wall is a pushblock. Pull it out and aside and enter, the door will open and you are now entering the Ventilation Room.

Ventilation Room.

Below in the dark, you can see the big Fans and looking R you’ll notice some steps, runjump to the steps and go down to where you can jump to w walkway with Swinging crates, go around the back of the crates to the W and turn L there, run off the walkway onto steps and go down to the Fans N, follow past the Fans to the E and turn R, come to a water filled basement.

Swim for the Circuit.

Dive in and go N, into a room with a closed UW door, go L there and pull the UW lever in the back of that dead end. Roll and swim back to that UW door go S and find extra Flares in the NE corner on the bottom, first get air and save.

Swim into the open door and go up, then R and as soon as you can go up, turn R (S) and immediately L into a small gap in the wall, follow to a crossing and go R, the turn L with the tunnel and come to an air pocket. Now swim back and go R around corners to come to a dark end, turn L there and find Secret #3, a Golden Skull. Go back for air turning L everywhere and at the same spot where you go up for air is the Circuit on the bottom. Then swim back W down and R, turn L through the small tunnel W and R when coming out, down L and follow that tunnel back through the UW door, swim S and L to climb out of the water again. Follow back past the Fans (carefully) and climb up L (passage straight leads to closed door). Jump/grab back to the walkway with the Swinging crates and go around the back to get to the other side of the room where you can go back up the steps and standjump back to the exit (L curve and grab in the end). Go S through the Control room and open the doors there with the Key.

Wardrobe.

Follow the passage down to the wardrobe (Library Key?), get the Flares and a Thug shows up, shoot him for the Ammo he drops and then go get a MP around in the NW corner, go back in the direction of the entrance W and go into the passage N to the Stage (yep, Sandbags). To the L is a Circuit board where that Circuit is missing, so place it and the fans will stop. Go N over the Stage and find the ladder on a pillar L (close to an empty room N), go up and get some Ammo. Go down and to the Wardrobe, R up the stairs.

The Street Key.

Go back to the Control room and into the Ventilation Room. Slide backwards down the sloped floor and drop near the Fans, go to the now open door in the passage W and find the Street Key behind the Fans. Return over the walkway with the Swinging crates and up to the Control room.

The Escape (freeing Winston).

Head S and then L out to the Theatre staircase, follow all the way up to the street and go W to Theatre Square and into the NW street, open that gate W and follow the streets around a canal and in the end through open doors R to a small square with a pond, Bartoli and his mate will attack and Bartoli will drop his Key. It’s getting late as the light fades. Up on a roof N you can spot the Chopper, open the gate N and go up to where the Butler is held captive, open the doors E and go up the ladder to the roof, "hey how did that old bloke get up here before I did?"

Go up to the Chopper and a Flyby will end the level…
