Level 1: Der Gelbe Kristall

 

You start with a flyby of Lara near a helicopter. Go west down some stairs and you hear the pilot, I assume, say something that I could not understand. Follow the stairs to a tunnel and then into a cave. Shoot two wolves and there is more discussion between the pilot and Lara. In the east wall are two receptacles. There are two holes in the cave floor.

 

Go down the stairs in the east hole. Jump over the lava to grab the wall. Shimmy to the left around the two corners until a wall stops you. The camera view makes it difficult to see but you can back flip into a room. Quickly shoot a wolf before it pushes you into the lava. Pick up the laser sight from the floor. Climb the blocks in the corner and then another block to the north. Pick up the crowbar and notice the closed gate. Return to the room and jump over the lava to grab the wall again. Shimmy to the right and around one corner. Position Lara on the second row of tiles above the lava. Back flip, roll, and grab the opposite wall. Shimmy to the left around the corner. Shimmy left down the long wall and shimmy around the corner and the camera view is normal. Now shimmy back around the corner to the right and back flip into an alcove. You get secret #1 and pick up shotgun wide shot ammo.

 

Jump to grab the wall and shimmy to the left. Go around the two corners and back flip into a room. Shoot a harpy and go to the east wall. Back flip onto the slope and jump forward to grab the edge of a slope. Pull up and back flip to a flat ledge. Pick up shotgun wide shot ammo and jump at a small angle to grab the crevice in the north wall. Shimmy to the left and into a tunnel. Follow the tunnel and use the crowbar to open a gate. Pick up the revolver off the floor. There is a slot in the south wall. Use the revolver and laser sight to shoot a swinging blue ball at the far end of that slot. You can jump up and down and use the pistols if you want. Turn to leave the tunnel and you get a cut scene of the open door where you found the crowbar. Get down and shimmy over the lava again to return to that room. Climb the block again and go through the open gate. Pick up the Blauer Kristal from a block behind the open gate. Climb the next block and slide down the slope into the room with the receptacles.

 

Go down the stairs in the west hole. Then take a long slide and drop into water. Pull up onto the west ledge and pull up onto the large rock. There is a closed gate in the west wall. There is a jump switch on the north wall. Jump up to grab the dark ceiling and monkey swing over to the jump switch. Pull down the jump switch and the gate opens in the west wall. Enter the gate and climb the wall. You emerge into a large room with a water-filled pit. There is a closed underwater gate in the water. The camera view also changes. Go north and pick up revolver ammo. Go to the north-east corner and climb the east wall to pull down a jump switch.

 

Dive into the water and swim west into the open gate. When you see crocodiles, roll, and swim back to the room. Pull up onto a ledge and shoot two crocodiles. Dive into the water and follow the underwater tunnel to the end. You pull up into a room and shoot the two harpies before they poison you. There are many designs on the floor and two pedestals. Most of the floor designs have XXX on them. There are two floor designs with XIX on them. Move the pedestals to the XIX floor designs. A gate opens in the north wall. Go there and pick up a small medipack and a second Blauer Kristal. Go to the north-east corner of the room and go through the open gate and into water. This was the room you climbed up the wall into earlier. But now it is flooded. Swim east and down the hole into the room into the room with the block. Go east and swim up the slope. You are back in the room with the receptacles.

 

Use the two gems in the east wall. Go to then south-west corner of the room. Follow the south tunnel through the open gate. Pick up shotgun wide shot ammo and enter an outdoor room with a water pool. There are two spirals and a closed gate at the south wall. Dive into the water and pull the underwater lever in the middle of the north wall. A block is raised at the west wall. Climb a block and pull up to the south to a ledge. Look to the south-east and see a rope. Use the rope to swing onto the east wall ledge. Use the floor lever and the gate opens in the south wall. There is another discussion takes place between the pilot and Lara. Dive into the water and pull up to any ledge. Go through the open gate and pick up the Gelber Kristal from a pedestal. Continue south through an open doorway. There is a short cut scene and the pilot speaks again.

 

Go south through a row of columns and see a guard. He ignores you until you pull out your guns and shoot. Then you have to shoot the guard. Go west and shoot a crocodile in the water. Between the two plants in front of the water you can find the jeep keys. Dive into the water and swim east into an underwater tunnel. Pull the underwater lever on the wall. Continue to swim around to the right and east into another water pool. You can pull up in the south-west corner. Go to the north-east corner for shotgun wide shot ammo. A gate is open in the west wall behind the first water pool. Go through the gates and get into the jeep.

 

Drive up the hill to the south and keep to the right side to avoid a spike pit on the other side. Run over a guard and stop before you drive into a water trench. Get out of the jeep and shoot two guards on the ledges over the water. Drop into the water and swim to the east wall for a small medipack. Then swim into the south-west corner for shotgun wide shot ammo. Pull up onto the ledge above you and go west. Follow the path to a slope and more water. Dive into the water and swim east into an alcove. You get secret #2 and the shotgun. Pull back up at the bottom of the slope. The ledge you see to the west is a spike trap. Go east and return to the room with the water trenches.

 

Go to the north-west corner. Shoot the two guards on the ledges to the west. One of the guards will drop shotgun wide shot ammo.  Go north to shoot a guard at the north wall. Pick up a small medipack from the body. Go to the north-east corner and go behind the wall to shoot a guard. Pick up a large medipack from the body. Continue around the corner and go west. Use the crowbar to open the gate in the north wall. You see some slopes so you need the jeep. First dive into the water and swim to the west. Look into the small underwater alcoves for shotgun normal ammo and a large medipack. At the corner, swim south and get shotgun wide shot ammo. Swim to the east and find shotgun wide shot ammo between two columns. Now go east and go back to the jeep.

 

You can drive into the south-east corner to go down a ramp and onto the ledges over the water trenches. You may have to drive onto the middle ledge and then back up into the south-east corner. Then drive forward on the north ledge and follow the ledges around to the high ledge that goes to the west. At the end drive off the ledge to the north-west and onto the lower ledge. This will put you on the north ledge by the wall. Drive east to the open gate with the slopes. Drive up the slopes and get out of the jeep. The camera view changes to annoy you. Pull up onto stairs and go north to a wall. Go east and then north into another outdoor area. Pick up a crowbar from the ground as you enter the area.

 

To the north is a deep pit. To the west is a roll-up bridge. You can see a rope hanging from a very high ledge. Go west and notice a jump switch on the upper south wall near an entrance. Enter an open doorway in the south wall. There is a pedestal to move and a few blocks leading to an upper floor. Ignore pedestal #1 for now and use the block at the entrance to pull up onto the second floor. There is another pedestal and an obvious blue square. Ignore pedestal #2 for now and hop up into the north wall window. You see the rope in front of you. Run and jump to grab the rope. Turn around and use a small push to jump and pull down the jump switch on the south wall. You get a cut scene of the gates opening on the north side of the pit.

 

Enter the south room again and push pedestal #1 onto the brown tiles at the west wall. Climb back up to the second floor. Move pedestal #2 onto the blue square. A block rises beside you. Push pedestal #2 to the west corner next to a block. Now use the two blocks in the corner to pull up onto the third floor. Go west and use the crowbar to open the two gates. Stand at the left side of the gates. If you stand at the middle, Lara says no and does not open the gates. As you face the gates, the left side is floor lever #1L and the right side is floor lever #2R. Use floor lever #2R and get a cut scene of blocks rising on the first floor. Go down to the first floor and push pedestal #1 to the north corner. Go back to the third floor and use floor lever #1L. You get a cut scene of a block rising. Use floor lever #2R again and get a cut scene of blocks dropping. Go down to the second floor.

 

Push pedestal #2 to the west corner. Then push pedestal #1 to the west corner. Return to the third floor and use both floor levers #1L and #2R again. Now turn around and pull pedestal #2 to the east and off the block. Go to the second floor and push pedestal #1 to the south corner. Return to the third floor and use floor lever #1L again. Go east and exit the room onto the upper walkways. Go west into a large alcove and push pedestal #1 onto the XXX tile. You can see the upper gates opening in the wall to the north. Do not go there yet. Go east to return to the floor lever room.  Move pedestal # 2 onto the XXX square at the entrance. You get a cut scene of the roll-up bridges unrolling across the pit.

 

Now go across the upper walkways into the north gates. Shoot a wolf and a guard and drop into a hole into then room below. Move the two pedestals onto the floor tiles that are underneath the XIX symbols on the ceiling. You get a cut scene of a door opening. Get out of the room and return south over the walkways. Enter the building and get to the first floor. Exit the building and go across the bridge into the open gates. Go to the north-west corner and enter the open door. Run down to the bottom of the ramp into another area. Shoot the barricades in the west wall. Shoot a barricade in the lower left corner. Follow the crawl space to the end for secret #3 and a small medipack. Return to the bottom of the stairs.

 

Go east and between the two statues with the spirals. Turn to the left and shoot the barricades in front of the jeep. There is a guard on a bridge to shoot or drive over. Get into the jeep and drive over the bridge. It is very hard as you have to keep moving or you slide off into the water. At the end, drive up the ramp and get out of the jeep. Slide down the slope and the level changes. If you drive down the slope, the game crashes.

 

Level 2: Rettung mit Hagix

 

You start the level in front of a closed gate. If you look east though the gate, you can see the ledge that you drove over. Go west and slide down the slope. Go to the end and then go north. You emerge onto a ledge in front of a pit with a large building. Shoot the two harpies that attack you. You may notice to the north that there is a receptacle.

 

Go to the bridge and face west. Go a little to the left of the bridge and slide down the slope backwards. Grab the edge of the slope. Release and grab the edge of a crawl space. Crawl inside for the Stern des Lichts. Back out the crawl space and shimmy to the right. Release and slide down a slope to the ground. Go to the south-east and to the side of the building. Go to the south-west corner and pull down a hard-to-see jump switch on the south wall. You get a cut scene of the gates opening in the building. Enter the building and get a cut scene of a conversation between the dying guard and Lara. Climb the blocks and pull up into a higher room. The camera view changes. Go forward and get into a crawl space. Pick up the Stab des Lichts from the floor. Exit and pull up to a higher ledge to the west. The camera view changes just to make it difficult for you. Climb the blocks that you see from the top view. Pick up revolver ammo and climb into a higher room. The door is open so exit the room. Go west and cross the bridge.

 

Go north to the receptacle. Combine the two pieces to make the Artefakt des Lichts and use it in the receptacle. Try placing it from the north-west side. You get a cut scene of gates opening. Go east to the cliff. Slide down the slope backwards so that you can grab the edge and safety drop to the ground. There are the open gates in the north wall. Enter the gates and go west down the corridor. Jump onto the block in the south-west corner and notice a receptacle. Hop down and go east down another corridor. You can look out a window and see a ship with "HAGIX" written on the side. Follow the corridor and turn to the right and go up a ramp. At the top pull up to the east and pick up the Stern des Feuers in front of a closed gate. Return to the receptacle that you saw and place it there. You get a cut scene of the ship and the open gate.

 

Return down the corridor and go through the open gate. Continue down the tunnel and dive into the water. Pull the underwater lever in the north-east corner. Surface and pull up into the west tunnel. Climb the blocks to the top. The side tunnel to the south is blocked by a gate. Go west down the ramp and turn the corner to face a room of lava and platforms. You have to jump to the platforms to get to the east wall but some platforms are spike traps. Hop onto the first safe platform near the entrance. Stand jump east and then south-east to a safe platform. Now stand jump south-west to a safe platform. You may notice the spikes on the next platform popping up. Stand jump to the east over the platforms and into the corner. Then jump south and use the floor lever. You get a cut scene of a gate opening. Go back over the platforms. Use jump with grab to glide into the entrance. Go up the ramp and go to the right tunnel and through the open gate.

 

Climb a block and turn to pull up to a higher ramp. Run up the ramp and you emerge onto a castle wall. Shoot the three harpies that attack from the west side. Over the south ledge you can see the building in the starting area. Over the north ledge you can see the ship. Go west and hop over the ledge onto the rocks behind the wall. Follow the rocks south to the end corner. You get secret #4 and shotgun wide shot ammo. Go north to the wall and enter the doorway in the north wall. Follow the ramp to the end and stop on a ledge at a slope.  Go to the south end and grab the edge to hang over the slope. Quickly pull back up as two spike balls roll underneath you. Now you can safely go down the slope and jump into a side tunnel to your left.

 

Just follow the tunnel and go down the ramps. You will go through a long corridor with three shafts on each wall. Use the binoculars to see at the end of two shafts two clues for the next puzzle. The clues are (V+I-IX+XX-V) and (XXX+VI-IIX:VIIxV+I). Continue down the tunnel and enter a room with a fancy floor. Shoot two wolves and two harpies. There are large closed gates in the east wall. Most of the tile designs are XXX. There are a few XII, XXI, and XIX designs as well. Move the pedestal from the north-east corner two tiles west and three tiles south onto the tile XII tile in front of the door. You get a cut scene showing the closed gates if it is on the correct tile. Move the pedestal from the south-west corner five tiles north and one tile east onto the XXI tile. You get a cut scene showing the opening gates if it is on the correct tile. I do not know the logic behind this as the clues confused me. I just moved and stopped the pedestals on any non-XXX tile until I got a cut scene.

 

Go east through the open door and down the tunnel. You emerge onto a beach. There is a dark box to the east of the ship's mooring line. Shoot that box and pick up Letzter Secret although no secret was registered. To the west of the mooring line, you can jump to grab the deck of the ship. Pull up onto the deck for a final cut scene and a conversation as the level ends.
