[Note] The
title name Susej reversed is Jesus. However, I doubt that this has any meaning
in the actual game. [End note]
Level 1:
Mortal Riddle
You start by sliding down a slope and land
knee-deep in sewage. Go forward and then go east to an alcove. You see a two
closed gates and a key lock. Return to the sewer and go south. The far south
area is a dead-end. You see a face blowing stream on the west wall. Opposite
the face is a corridor of more sewage. Go east and see a snake statue on a
block. There is another face sticking out its tongue. Go forward and take the
right south-east corridor. You see another face with something coming out of
its mouth. Go to the left and hop into an alcove. Turn around and shoot three snakes in the water. They are hard to kill. I
assume that they are snakes, as you cannot really see them very well. In the
alcove pick up the Riddle Scroll from the
pedestal. You can read the scroll if you want. Return to the sewage and take
the north-east corridor. You enter a room where the sewage is very deep. Go to
the left and climb into either alcove. You may have to shoot another snake in the water. Use the binoculars and look to the
middle chain that hangs from the ceiling. There is a brown thing in the sewage.
That is the top of a well-hidden floor lever. Use the floor lever and go east
into a tunnel. Follow the tunnel and go through the open gate.
Enter the room and go to the north-east corner. Use
the binoculars for light. There is a well-hidden jump switch on the north wall.
Pull down the jump switch to open the door in the north wall. You get a flyby
of two creatures fighting and a man crawling away. Enter the open door and go
for a very long elevator ride. Enter a large red-lit room with a pit in the middle.
Shoot the four red skulls that attack your feet.
To the north of the pit is a large statue. There is a large hallway to the west
of the pit. There are ladders to get to the bottom of the pit. First go to the
south-east and climb down a ladder in the corner. Follow the dark tunnel to a
dungeon. Pick up two flares among the
skeletons. Do not go to the north grate. You can walk through and fall to your
death in the elevator shaft. Climb the ladder and back flip into the red-lit
room.
Now go the south-west and climb down another
ladder. Go south to find a three-way junction. To the south is a closed gate.
Go east and pick up flares off the floor. Pull
back the dead body for a small medipack. Jump
over the fire and enter the tunnel in the south-east corner. Walk and do not
run down the tunnel. The camera view changes. A blue angel appears behind you
and says "No, Lara". Walk
further and the gate closes behind you. Shoot five red
skulls before they push you off the ledge and into a pit. Climb into an
upper north wall crawl space. Follow the crawl space and drop into a dark
tunnel. Go west and see a climbable crosshatched wall to your right. Climb the
left side, back flip, roll, and grab a ledge of an alcove. Pull up into the
alcove. Pick up crossbow explosive ammo and get
secret #1. Drop down into the tunnel. Go to
the west end of the tunnel and pull down a jump switch above a closed gate.
Enter the gate and you are back at the junction. Enter the west tunnel and
follow the tunnel and pass many closed cages. The last tunnel has an open gate.
You can enter the tunnel and see the creature behind another closed gate.
Continue west and loop around to the right to find a floor lever. Use the floor
lever and get a cut scene of a gate opening in the pit. Return to the junction
and return to the ladder. Climb the ladder and back flip into the red-lit room.
Go north to the statue and shoot two red skulls. Climb down the west ladder and drop
onto a breakable tile. Roll and run forward and to the right to jump with a right
curve to grab the ledge at the open gate. Climb over a block and drop on the
other side. Walk forward and get a flyby showing a hole below you. Stand on the
middle of the left tile edge with your back to the south wall. Stand jump with
grab to the north-north-west. You should fall and land into the hole. Your get
another camera view and fall into more sewage. The camera view makes it
difficult to do anything. Pull up to the west and onto a ledge. Jump east to
grab a ladder and climb into an east wall tunnel.
Just follow the tunnel until it splits. Follow the
north branch tunnel to a room with a mirror. You see a gem on a pedestal in the
mirror. Notice that a lion statue is broken in the mirror. Shoot the north-east lion statue and it
breaks to look like the statue in the mirror. Walk into the mirror and pick up Skull's Gem #1 from the pedestal. Return to the main
tunnel and continue to the east. Continue until you see another north tunnel
split. That is the exit for later. Continue east and go up a few steps into a
small room. There are four alcoves and each has a different letter at the end.
From west to east, the letters are J, U, S and E. Step on the letters in the
order of S, U, S, E, and J and Skull's Gem #2
appears in the south alcove near the room entrance. Exit the room and return to
the north branch tunnel that you skipped earlier.
Climb the ladder and back flip to a slope. There is
a fire blocking the path. Crawl underneath the fire and you do not get burned.
Use the floor lever and crawl back to the ledge. An ice
ahmet appears behind you. Jump and grab the ladder and climb to the open
gate at the top. Pull up to the east side and face a tunnel with spike traps.
Stand jump with grab to get over the first spike trap. Notice a closed gate to
the west. In the next section, jump over a spike trap. Go to the north-east
into a short tunnel. Pull down the chain to open the gate. Return to the open
gate and go down the dark tunnel. Shoot a headless
creature that jumps out of a box on a ledge.
Pick up a crowbar from the skeleton in the middle of the tunnel floor.
Return to the main tunnel and go north to a
three-way junction. To the north is a hole with a spike trap. Go west up the
steps and shoot a headless creature that attacks
you from behind. Hop up onto the west block with a standing skeleton. Pick up
the not-too-obvious Secret Key from the
skeleton. Return to the junction and enter the east tunnel. Save the game for a
difficult jump over breakable tiles. Before you enter the alcove, notice a pull
down trap door in the ceiling. There are two breakable tiles. Go to the edge of
the first tile and jump up to grab the handle. The trap door opens and you land
on the edge of the second tile. Stand jump forward and grab the ledge and pull
up. There is a star on the wall in front of you. Use the crowbar to pry off the
Magic Star from the wall. Stand jump with grab
to glide over the hole and land in the tunnel below.
Be careful of the spikes and return to the tunnel
where you picked up the crowbar. Go to the end and slide down the slopes. Go
west to enter a hallway. Place the star in the receptacle on the south wall.
The door opens in the west wall. Go west and enter a room. In the middle is a
large platform with four skeletons in fire. At the west wall is a statue. You
can do nothing here yet. Enter the tunnel at the south wall. Go to the end and
pull down a wall switch to open a gate. Exit the gate and you are back at the
starting sewer area. Go south and turn to the left to use the key to open the
gate.
Enter the tunnel and go into the first side
opening. Climb down a ladder to a platform in a room with deadly water. Go east
and hop onto a safe platform next to a fire. Crawl under the fire and turn to
your left. Stand jump to grab a monkey swing as an ice
ahmet drops behind you. Monkey swing over the water to the north and
drop onto a staircase. Pick up a large medipack
from the dead skeleton. Save the game frequently as you shoot the ahmet from
safety. The camera view makes it impossible to see the ahmet but you can use
the binoculars to see it. Make sure the ahmet drops on the middle platform
under the fire. Run and jump to the platforms. Crouch down to pick up Skull's Gem #3. Then run and jump with a left curve
into the east wall tunnel. Jump back to the safe platform and then to the west
ledge. Climb the ladder back into the tunnel.
Continue east to the end of the tunnel and see
another hole. You will need full health for the next jump. Stand at the south
wall and hang into the hole. Release and drop onto a slope. Start to slide and
jump with a right curve to grab a crawl space. If you miss, you fall into
deadly water. Crawl through the crawl space and stand up. There is a hole in
front of you. Stand jump to grab the upper north wall tunnel. Follow the tunnel
around and go to the right into a small room. Run forward and pick up a crossbow from a skeleton. Use the explosive ammo you
found to destroy three skeletons. If you do not
have the ammo, you are in trouble. Return to the entrance and go to the right,
Pull down a wall switch and return to the room. Destroy another two skeletons and enter the open cage to pick up Skull's Gem #4. Return to the tunnel entrance and
stand jump with grab to glide over the hole and back into the room with the
crawl space. Go to the south-east corner and run and jump to grab the ladder.
Climb the ladder back into the tunnel.
Go west to return to the sewer starting area. Enter
the north gate and follow the tunnel down to the room with the platform of
burning skeletons. You will need to shoot another headless
creature on the trip. Go to the east side of the platform and place the
four gems into the skull receptacles. After each placement, immediately back
flip to avoid a steam emitter. You also get a cut scene of a face. On the last
cut scene there is an opening beneath the face. Go east to exit the room and
find the face in the north wall. Go north and enter a tunnel.
Follow the tunnel until you see a fire on a vase. Five gargoyles will follow you. You cannot shoot them
but they do not seem to hurt Lara either. Carefully stand by the corner of the
fire and face north. Jump up to grab a ladder. Climb up and shimmy to the left
into an upper west alcove. Pull down the chain and drop back into the tunnel.
Run down the east tunnel and drop into the hole. You drop onto a slope as the
level ends.
Level 2:
Forced Baptism
You slide down a few slopes and slide through some
slicing blades. Save the game quickly before you stop at the bottom. At the
bottom you will get a cut scene. The cut scene shows a floating skull saying,
"No, no, no, not in this house". It then follows a path among the
holes in the floor. Crouch to pick up the flares
to avoid a slicing blade. Jump over the holes to safety drop into the hole
where the skull stopped. To the east and south is a deep pit. Go through a
north doorway and turn to the left. Walk a little and you hear music. This must
be the right way.
You face a very deep pit with many skeletons at the
bottom. Run and jump to a south-west ledge and follow the ledge to the
end. Run and jump to a north-west
ledge. Look down to the north and see a slope below you. Stand at the corner
and stand jump down to the top of the slope. You should land on the top of the
slope and slide to the bottom. If you stand at the corner and back flip to the
slope, you seem to loose less health when you land. Go to the sides of the
slope and use the two floor levers. You get a cut scene of a gate opening. If
you enter the opening in the south wall, you get a cut scene showing a gladiator dropping in on you. I ignored that opening
and went to the central pit.
Safety drop onto a ledge in the central pit. Then
safety drop to the bottom. Pick up flares and a
small medipack. Enter the tunnel in the north
wall. See the skeletons at the bottom of the slope. Save the game before you
slide down. Stay near a wall as you slide down. About one tile from the bottom,
jump and hope that the slicing blades miss you. Continue up the north tunnel
and enter the gate that you opened. You are in a large room with a large
structure in the middle. Go to the east wall and enter the opening you find.
You are in a room with three water filled pits. Go to the left of the closed
gate in front of you. Light a flare and look to the west above your head for a
jump switch. Pull down the jump switch and the gate opens.
Enter the gate and jump over the deadly water to a
safe platform. Jump with grab to glide into the opening in the east wall. Turn
to the right and pull down the jump switch on the west wall. You get a cut scene
of a gate opening. Return back to the large room with the structure. Go to the
middle of the north wall and enter a lower crawl space. You enter a room with a
pipe. Follow the tunnel in the north-west corner. You will pass a few water
outflows. Enter the tunnel in the south wall and follow the tunnel to a room.
Enter the room and a block rises in the middle and hides the gem. Go to the
south-west corner and the block descends. Stand jump in front of the red status
that is emitting steam. Step onto the platform and pick up the Water Control Gem. Exit back to the large room with
the structure.
Run to the middle of the west wall and enter a
lower crawl space as a
gladiator shoots fire at you. Stand up and follow the tunnel to enter
the only room that is open. You get another cut scene of a gladiator outside the north wall door. Place the gem
in the machine at the east wall. You get a cut scene of gates opening and a
room being flooded and the gladiator again. The gate in the west wall also
opens. Enter the gate and go up the stairs as the gate closes behind you. At a
T-junction, go to the right and enter a large room. A blue angel appears and
says that it will help you. You get a cut scene of a gladiator on fire. Some
items also appear. Go west and pick up two large
medipacks and two small medipacks. Go to
the west wall and notice the drag marks on the floor next to the statues. Push
the north statue to the north wall. Then push the south statue to the south
wall. The west wall disappears and a demigod appears
and shoots at you. Shoot back at the demigod,
obviously. There is a pit to the west so do not go there. But you can
shoot four dogs on the
west ledge. They leave behind human skeletons. Go behind the south statue and
pull down a jump switch on the south wall. You get a flash of a cut scene.
There is a tunnel in the north wall but it seems to
be a dead-end. Go east and take the other path of the T-junction. Go up the
stairs and follow the tunnel. Go through a gate opened by the jump switch. Go
up the stairs to a T-junction. Go to the right and see a gem behind a closed
gate. Continue up the south stairs until a red wall stops you. Turn around and
pull down a jump switch. Run down the steps to enter the open gate and save the
game. Pick up the Magic Corolla off the
pedestal. The skeleton attacks you so quickly
run out. There are also slicing blades on the floor of the tunnel entrance.
Stay on the north side of the steps and the blades should miss you. Enter the
next room and place the gem in the red circle on the north wall. You get a cut
scene of the red wall disappearing. Get pass the slicing blades again by
staying on the left side of the stairs. Go up the south stairs again. The
skeleton did not follow or was stuck by the slicing blades.
Follow the stairs up to ledge over a deep pit. You
can see a yellow gem floating in space. Two fire
wraiths seem to fly around but ignore you. Go east and the first tunnel
to your left needs a key. Continue to the tunnel in the north-east corner. Go
up two stairs and safety drop into a hole at your left. You land on a ledge and see a pedestal to
the west. Go down the south stairs to the end. Jump the columns and enter a
room in the south-west corner. Enter the room and go to the statue in the north
corner. Pick up the Secret Key from the statue.
Exit the room and jump over the columns again. Climb the stairs and pull up
through the hole. Return to the uper ledge and into the middle opening. Use the
key to open the trap door to the left. Drop into the hole and go south onto the
ledge. Pick up the Guardian's Amulet from the
pedestal.
Slide down and jump to the columns to the east and
get back to the hole. Now go down the steps to the south where the ledge is
flat. Give yourself full health and safety drop to the lower ledge to the west.
You loose a lot of health. A snake and a gladiator
appear. I hung off the side of the ledge and heard the gladiator drop and die.
I guess the snake bit him. Pull up and shoot the snake. Safety drop to a lower
west ledge. Then safety drop to the ground but between the black fences. Go
west to the yellow platform and it instantly moves you up to the yellow gem.
Pick up the Exit Gem from the platform.
If you go to the south ledge, a bird monster appears and pushes you off the ledge. In
the south-west corner is the entrance to the higher ledges in the room where
you pick up the key from the statue. Since I got the key earlier, I did not go
there. Jump to the north ledge and go into the north-east tunnel. Follow the
tunnel to the end. Place the Exit Gem in the red west wall receptacle to the
right of the closed gate. The gate opens so enter the tunnel. Place the
Guardian's Amulet in the receptacle in the north wall. The east wall drops and
you enter another large corridor.
Go up the steps to a junction and go north. There
are large creatures there but they seem to
ignore Lara. Go north to a junction and go to the west. The next north steps
are spike traps. Go west to a junction and go to the north. The next west steps
are spike traps. Continue and go west and north at the junctions. Follow the
long north stairs to the end and turn to the west. You can see daylight at the
end. Run up the west stairs and the level ends.
