Level 1: Mine
Run north on the valley floor and go to the
north-east. Shoot the barricades and the two ninjas
next to the jeep. Go east into the mine entrance and down the slope. Turn the
corner into the north tunnel and shoot a ninja.
Continue north and shoot two ninjas. Go slowly
so that only one ninja appears at a time. Just continue following the tunnel to
reach a large cave and you get a long flyby of the next tunnel. After the flyby
you can see a large bin of gold to the north. To the immediate west is a small
room with a closed gate inside. To the east is a ladder leading to a close
gate. Go to the east wall with the boxes.
Climb the north-east corner box and look above your
head for a ladder. Climb the ladder and pull up into a tunnel. Follow the
tunnel to a crawl space. Get into the crawl space and drop onto a girder above
the room. Look to the lower west wall and you can see a floor lever. Follow the
north girder west and climb down a ladder to the floor. Shoot a guard and use the floor lever. You get a cut scene of
a gate opening. Climb the ladder back to the north girder. Re-trace you route
back to the large cave. Now go south-west into the small room. The gate is open
so enter the next room. Shoot the vases for a small medipack.
Pick up a revolver and revolver
ammo from the west wall corner ledge. Shoot the ninja
that appears and leave the room. Return to the large cave.
Go north to the large bin and turn to the west.
Follow the track and shoot a guard. There is a
side tunnel to the south but it ends with a closed door needing some items. Go
west and shoot the barricades and a ninja behind a jeep. Continue west and see an area with boxes to
the south. Do not go there, as a sentry gun guards that area. In the north wall
you can see an opening with a barricade. Enter the opening and shoot the
barricade. Go forward and turn around to slide down a slope backwards. At the
end, grab the edge, pull up, and back flip to a ledge near a deadly water pool.
Go south into a large room with a deadly pool. Jump to a platform and then run
and jump to grab a pole. Rotate around the pool and back flip to a platform.
Jump to the north ledge and pick up the Eye
Piece from the pedestal.
Use the binoculars and see a crevice on
the east wall. Grab that crevice and shimmy to the right to pull up into an
alcove. Run and jump to the platform at the pool entrance. Go south where you
entered this area and jump to grab another east wall crevice. Shimmy to the
right and into another alcove. Climb the south wall and go up a ramp. Continue
climbing blocks and at the top, safety drop back into the main tunnel. Continue
west and sprint through the next section, as there are sentry guns at the south
wall. Shoot the barricades and two ninjas. Behind the box at the end of the tunnel, you can get blue shotgun shells. You cannot pick up
the grenades fused into the floor.
Return east to the rear of the jeep. Jump over the
north ledge and land on the rocks. Drop into the corner to avoid the sentry
guns. Turn south and get into the space between the bridge girders. Pick up a small medipack near west wall. Pick up flares near the east wall. Go east and jump back onto
the corner rock at the north wall. Take two steps forward from the north wall.
Jump forward with grab and you should land on the corner brace girder just
below the girder you left. Go west under the bridge and pick up red shotgun shells. Grab the underside of the bridge
and monkey swing west as far as possible. Release and drop onto a ledge. Go to
the bottom of the cave. Shoot the ninja and pick
up the laser sight. Climb the blocks back up
and safety drop onto the cave. Follow the steps at the side and you reach a
ledge below the sentry guns. Stay at the west side and jump to the corner brace
girder. Jump to the west wall under the bridge again. Go back to the north wall
rocks and then jump back to the bridge.
You can get more items now or wait to later. If you
want to get the items now, go to the east entrance and you will need full
health. Run south towards the sentry guns so that they both shoot at you. Run
off the south ledge and drop onto a ledge below. Go to the west end and jump
onto the corner brace girder. From there you can destroy the sentry guns, as
they are pointed to the east. Aim at the top upper corner of the rear bag. Go
back to the north rocks and jump back to the bridge. Pick up the revolver ammo on the grate between the sentry guns.
Climb the ladder of the column and pull up into a tunnel. Go to the end and
pick up crossbow explosive ammo, crossbow poison ammo,
crossbow normal ammo, crossbow, two revolver ammo, and a large medipack from a ledge. Climb down the ladder
and jump back to the bridge.
Go east and see a sentry gun guarding a doorway to
the south. Run down the left side to draw the fire. Then crawled back to the
main tunnel and use the revolver and laser sight to destroy the sentry gun. Go
south into the doorway. Turn to the east to shoot a guard
and a ninja. Go to the end and wait by the
doorway. Shoot the guard that appears. Use the
binoculars and you can see ammo next to the central column to the south. Run
into the room and go south as the sentry gun shoots at you. Near a black box,
jump to the right onto the hole behind the column. Pick up revolver ammo from the floor. Climb onto the south
track-like floor. Shoot the ninja hiding in the
dark south-west corner. Go to the south-west corner and keep the column between
you and the sentry gun. Climb the west boxes and crawl to the east side. Do not
stand up. Drop down into the dark corner where the ninja was located. Stay at the
box and south wall inside corner and turn to the north. You should be able to
destroy the sentry gun. Slide down onto the track-like floor and pick up the Hand of Orion. Then use the floor lever that was behind
the sentry gun.
Exit the room and go west and south. Be careful of
the fires on the floor. Turn the corner and shoot two
ninjas. Go west to the open doorway and shoot a guard.
Go to the north-east corner and pick up grenade normal
ammo, grenade gun, blue shotgun shells, red shotgun shells, shotgun, Uzi ammo, and
Uzi's from the ledge. Exit the room and return
to the main tunnel. Go to the east end of the main tunnel and climb the ladder.
Use the Hand of Orion to open the gate. Enter the open gate and pick up the
other Eye Piece. Climb down the ladder and go
west down the main tunnel.
At a large rock, turn south into the tunnel that
you ignore earlier. There is a crawl space in the right wall. There is nothing
there. Go to the end and make the Eye of Horus. If you did not get the items at
the bridge sentry guns earlier because of low health, you can go back and get
the items now. If you have the Eye of Horus made, the sentry guns do not shoot
at you. But they still follow you so you can use the same method for destroy
them or just ignore them as you climb the ladder to get the items. When done,
return to the circular door and use the Eye of Horus to open the circular door.
You can either turn around and shoot three ninjas
or just drop into an open hole and the level changes.
Level 2:
Guardians of Tomb
You start with a long slide and stop at the edge of
a deep pit. You can see a closed door on the south ledge. Turn around and climb
down a ladder. Near the top of the spikes, back flip over the spikes to land on
the floor. Go to the north-west corner and wait there to shoot two bats that appears. Get into the crawl space at the
west wall and follow it to the end. Pull up and be careful of the spikes that
are everywhere. Enter the east wall alcove and use the floor lever. You get a
cut scene of that south door opening. Return to the hole and jump behind the
sculpture for a large medipack. Enter the crawl
space again and follow it back. Pull up onto a block that has risen near the
spikes. Notice an alcove and a closed gate in the west wall. Jump over the
spikes and climb the ladder back to the top. Jump to either side ledge and
shoot a bat as you go to the open south door.
Enter the door and follow a dark tunnel to safety
drop into the room that you saw behind the closed gate in the pit. Enter the
cave in the west wall. Shoot a dog and a bat that attack from the south. Enter the south area
and shoot another bat. Jump to the ledge to the
west. Safety drop onto the wooden steps below you. Follow the wooden steps north
a little and drop onto a rock ledge. Go south under the wooden steps and go
into the south-east corner. Pick up the Ba Cartouche
from the skeleton. Return to the wooden steps. Follow the wooden steps to the
bottom and see a closed door. Jump down the east side of the steps. Shoot a crocodile that emerges from a crawl space in the east
wall. Get to the floor and go north to a receptacle. Place the Ba Cartouche and
you hear a door open. Return to the wooden steps and enter the open door.
You enter a large room. Immediate go left into the
east corner and pick up a large medipack. Go
south and cross the bridge over the deadly red water on the floor. The mummy can be ignored. Watch out for darts from the
walls and enter the south tunnel. Enter another large room and shoot the crocodile that emerges from the west wall crawl space.
Continue south and get a flyby of the room. The flyby ends at a bird statue and
a harpy. Stay near the safe blue water and shoot the harpy
as it descends towards you.
There are two closed doors in the east wall. To the
south is a closed door that requires two items. There is a closed door at the
west wall. There is another closed door in the south-west corner at the bottom
of steps. There are steps going up to the north-west. Take the north-west steps
and follow the steps to where they turn to the west. Look to the north and see
a sculpture in the upper corner. Go up there and pick up blue shotgun shells, red shotgun shells, and a shotgun. Descend and return down the steps to the
water area.
Climb the broken column at the east wall. Turn
around and jump up grab a crevice. Shimmy to the left and pull up into an
opening. Run and jump with no grab to land on the rocks to the south-west.
Climb up to the west and run and jump into the open wing in the north wall.
Enter the room and see four receptacles. Use the floor lever and the gate opens
in the west wall. This gate goes to the path that leads back to the water area.
It is just a shortcut for when you get the required items.
Jump back to the rocks and climb higher to the
west. At the top, go south and climb a ladder. Run and jump south to a column.
Look to the east and you can see semi-invisible platforms reflected in the
light. Stand jump to the first platform and use the other platforms to get into
the tunnel in the upper east wall. This is the tunnel from the flyby. Go to the
east wall and pick up the Ra Cartouche from the
dark corner. Jump the platforms to get back to the column. Jump back to the
north column and go down the ladder. Descend to the rocks and jump back into
the room with the four receptacles.
I will refer to the receptacles as #1 to #4 from
left to right as you look at them. I suspect that the pictures above the
receptacles mean something but I do not know what it is.
Receptacle #1
Place the Ra Cartouche into receptacle #1, the far
left receptacle. You get a cut scene of a door opening. Go out the west gate
and follow the path back to the water area. Enter the open gate in the west
wall and it closes behind you. Go forward and see a lava pit. Jump down onto
the only safe tile in the lava pit. Step into the side alcove and an earthquake
happens. Exit the alcove and run and jump to grab the east wall. Climb back to
the ledge and notice that the south wall has changed. Climb the blocks at the
south wall and drop onto a ledge. Run and jump across the lava to grab the
crevice on the north wall. Shimmy to the left and drop onto the floor.
Go west into a room and hop onto the coffin. Shoot
the small vases in the south-west column and an item appears on the coffin.
Pick up the Ra Cartouche and exit the room. The
lava pit is filling with sand. Run across the sand and the door has re-opened.
Return to the water area. Go up the stairs in the north-west corner. Follow the
path back into the room with the four receptacles.
Receptacle #2
Place the Ra Cartouche into receptacle #2, the left
of middle receptacle. You get a cut scene of a door opening at the bottom of
steps. Go out the west gate and follow the path back to the water area. Follow
the steps down to the open door in the south-west corner. Enter the door and it
closes behind you. Run down the ramp and get a flyby of the large room. You can
see an empty pedestal, a rolling blade, a floor lever, and a receptacle at the
bottom of the deep room.
Turn around and drop to grab the edge of the steps.
Release and grab the crawl space below the entrance. Go through the crawl space
and use a floor lever. You get a cut scene of a block rising and covering a
spike trap. Exit the crawl space and shimmy to the left before you safety drop
to the ground. Go west and pick up a small medipack
and notice a golden skull in the north alcove. Go south and run off the edge to
land on a coffin. Pick up the Timeless Sands
from the base of the bird statue. Pick up red shotgun
shells from the skeleton. Go north and place the Timeless Sands in the
statue at the north wall. You get a cut scene of an item and skeletons rising
from the ground. Destroy the four skeletons and
climb the sand mound at the west wall. Pick up Cartouche
Piece 1 from the top of the sand. Slide down to the floor and go to the
north-east corner.
Pick up a small medipack
near the corner from the cut scene. Destroy a mummy
that appears in the alcove. Pull up into the crawl space in the north-east
corner. Drop on the other side and save the game. Pick up Cartouche Piece 2 from the floor and get a cut scene
showing wraiths and the bird statue. Get out of the crawl space and run west.
The bird statue does not work so do not go there. Go into that north alcove
with the golden skull. Crouch down and use some medipacks until the five wraiths explode. You may have to run out and
around a little and then return to the golden skull a few times. They do all
not die at once.
Go to the center of the room and combine the pieces
to make the Ba Cartouche. Use it in the receptacle and get a cut scene of a
door opening at the top of the ladder in the south wall. Go to the steps at the
east wall and safety drop into a pit to the south. Go to the south wall and hop
onto the small block. Jump to the higher block to the north. Watch the rolling
blade and time a run and jump with no grab to land on the west ledge near the
ladder. Quickly turn and climb the ladder into the open door at the top. If you
jump from the lower block, you grab and have to pull up to the ledge. If you
jump from the higher block, you land on the block with no pull up and you need
the extra time. You may need full health since the blade does a lot of damage
if it touches you. Pick up the Ra Cartouche
from the floor of the alcove.
Face the room and be careful of the rolling blade.
Jump and pull up onto the ledge above you to the east. Run and jump to the east
ledge. Pick up red shotgun shells near the
skeleton. Climb the column to the north and run to the end to pick up Cartouche Piece 2. You get a cut scene of a skeleton behind you. Shoot the skeleton off the ledge.
Return south and drop to the lower ledge. Jump west to the central ledges. Go
around the first corner and drop to the grab the ledge. Shimmy to the left and
pull up onto a small ledge. Jump around the ledges to reach the floor lever.
Use the floor lever and you hear a door open. Jump the ledges back again to the
crevice. Shimmy to the right and pull up.
Go to the south wall and up the steps. Be careful
of the rolling blade and pull up onto the upper ledge. Go forward and pick up Cartouche Piece 1 from the pedestal. Shoot the skeleton off the ledge and drop down to the ledge
below. Now go west and jump into the open doorway. Enter the room and the door
closes. Go south and destroy the two mummies.
The fires on the floor seem to do no harm. Go to the right corner area and pull
up to the east into a higher balcony. You may need a flare to see where the
hole is located. Go north and be careful of the spikes. When you reach the
receptacle, shoot a bat and be careful not to
fall into the spikes. Make the Ba Cartouche and use it. You get a cut scene of
a door opening down near the deadly water. Go to the vase at the end of the
ledge. Stand jump north over the vase to land on the ledge below. You take some
damage but it is the easiest way down.
Go south and follow the steps to the deadly water.
Watch out for the rolling blade again and follow the platforms to the open
door. You enter a room with a deadly pool and spikes. When the spikes go down,
run and jump with no grab to the middle opening. The spikes will go up again
but should be down when you land. Run and jump again to a safe ledge at the
north wall. Grab the crevice and shimmy to the left around the corner and drop
onto a ledge. Save the game before you enter the next room. One pots is safe
and the other pots will set the floor on fire. Carefully shoot an annoying bat but do not shoot the
pots. Shoot only the red and black pot that is the only pot of its kind. Go to
its location and pick up Guardian Key #1. You get a cut scene ending with a demigod. Use the
revolver to shoot the demigod. This way, no pots are broken. Shimmy back to the safe
ledge in the deadly water. Again time the jumps through the spikes to get to
the exit.
Be careful of the rolling blade again.
Follow the platforms and go up the steps to the entrance ledge. The door is now
open so go up the steps to return to the water area. Go up the
stairs in the north-west corner. Follow the path back into the room with the
four receptacles.
Receptacle #3
Place the Ra Cartouche into receptacle #3, the
right of middle receptacle. You get a cut scene of a door opening in the water
area. Go out the west gate and follow the path back to the water area. Enter
the open door in the south-east corner and climb down the ladder into a hole.
Climb up to the north side and go west as a gate opens for you. Enter a small
room and the gate closes. Drop into a hole at the north wall. Climb down to the
south and pick up the Ra Cartouche from the
skeleton. Climb back up into the room. There are four sets of bones in the
room:
1. In the hole you just exited
2. In the north-west corner
3. In the south-west corner
4. On the coffin.
Use the revolver and laser sight to break all the
bones and the gate opens again. Do not use anything explosive or the gate stays
closed. The gate is now open so go up the ladder to
return to the water area. Go up the stairs in the north-west corner.
Follow the path back into the room with the four receptacles.
Receptacle #4
Place the Ra Cartouche into receptacle #4, the far
right receptacle. You get a cut scene of a door opening in the water area. Go
out the west gate and follow the path back to the water area. Enter the open
door in the east wall. Before you enter, notice the picture above the door.
Enter the room and the door closes. You get a flyby of the room. Go forward and
electrical arcs start in the three openings. Go through the far right opening.
The other two are spike traps. In the next area, go through the far left
opening. In the last area, go through the middle opening. You now have a choice
of four alcoves, Enter the third alcove from the left. This has the same
picture as was above the entrance door. Pick up Cartouche
Piece 1 from the alcove. You get a cut scene showing the door opening at
the south wall. The other alcoves are spike traps.
Enter the south door and go through a blade ball,
wall blades, and a second blade ball traps. At the end, go up the steps to the
west. The gate does not open. Grab the climbable wall over the lava pit in the
north wall. Release to grab a lower crawl space and pull up into it. Stand up
in a corner alcove and save the game. Pick up Cartouche
Piece 2 and the floor disappears beneath you. Slide down the slope and
near the end jump up to grab a climbable wall in front of you. Shimmy to the
right and pull up into a side opening. This actually was difficult, as Lara
seem frozen for a while before she pulls up. Hop down the blocks and enter a
new room with a lava floor.
Go to the south wall and make the Ba Cartouche. Use
it in the receptacle and the circular door opens in the west wall. Go west and
follow the corridor to some steps. Be careful of two spike balls rolling down
the steps as you go up. Go up the right side and run to the left side after one
of them passes. You enter a room with a colorful checkerboard floor and two bulls. Go west and pass a closed gate. Enter the
next opening and use the floor lever to raise the gate. Enter the room and pick
up a Ra Cartouche. I am not sure of the trigger
location of the bull. But when I exited, one of the bulls charged at me. Lead
the bull into the room and use the floor lever again to close the gate and lock
the bull inside.
Go north and hop onto the platform behind the
bulls. Use the floor lever and see the gate open in the south wall. Hop onto
the checkerboard and the gate closes again. But now the other bull is awake.
Lead the bull to the room with the floor lever, open the gate again, and locked
the two bulls inside. You can lure the bulls inside the room by just hanging
from the ledge near the open gate. Return north to the platform and use the
floor lever to open the south wall gate again. Run and jump to the first red
tile. Then stand jump to the other red tiles and reach the open gate. Land on
any other tile and the gate closes. Pick up Guardian
Key #2 from the floor and get a cut scene of more electrical arcing. Now
parts of the floor are deadly. Look at the west wall. The wall shows the colors
of the safe tiles in that row. Just stand jump onto the appropriate safe tiles
to get back to the north platform again.
Go to the north-west corner and climb the blocks.
The gate is open so go pass the blade traps again. The first blade ball is
easy. Run through the wall blades and crouch to crawl under the second blade
ball. Go through the wall openings that do not have spikes and return to the
water area.
Go to the south-east and south-west corners and
place the two Guardian Keys. After each key you will hear a door open. Now
enter the open doors in the south wall between the key receptacles. Pick up the
Amulet of Horus from the floor and a gate opens
in the south wall. Go to the east wall and place the Ra Cartouche to open the
door in the south tunnel. Run into the tunnel and follow the corridor. The
level ends by crashing to the desktop.
