  Starry Slope

The level begins with Lara sliding down a starry slope as she's cast down from the skies into the space between realms. As you slide past a blue lit area near the end of the slope, take a standing jump to the red lit block.

( Secret #1 ) Turn right, take a standing jump to the next block and pickup the large medipack which is Secret #1.

Take note of the pattern on the wall (a clue to a puzzle later on), then take a standing jump back onto the slope. Fall into the next room and watch a flyby showing the route and what is to follow.

  Window Room

Pickup the small medipack and take a standing jump to the first slope. Continue jumping the slopes, curving right until you reach the flames shooting out from the wall. When the flames subside, jump past the flames, then to the slope on the right, slide, jump and grab the monkey swing above. Swing until you reach another set of flames and wait for the flames to subside before continuing around. Stop before the next sloped block and when the flames from below subside, swing forward, drop to the slope, jump off and grab the climbable ceiling block ahead. Shimmy around the block, climb about half way up, jump off with a twist (roll) and grab the second climbable ceiling block behind. Shimmy around the block and with Lara's back to the window, climb down to the lowest point on the block. With Lara's feet on the ladder, still holding "ctrl", tap "alt + spacebar + end" keys once, still holding "ctrl" and Lara will twist, shoot the window and land in the alcove. Push the floor lever and watch a cutscene of a door opening in the opposite wall and spikes receeding on the sloped block, making the next flight of jumps accessible.



( Secret #2 ) Reverse roll, run forward, press "ctrl + up arrow" and grab the hidden crack in the wall above. Shimmy right, around the corner and pull up into the alcove above. Pickup the large medipack which is Secret #2.

From the entrance of the alcove, take a standing jump and grab the climbable ceiling block. Shimmy right, around the corner and from about half way up the block, from the rightmost side, take a backflip with a twist to the first sloped block. Jump to the next block, slide and jump with a curve right to the next block. Jump with another curve right with a final jump to the ledge. Head left and face the flaming pole. When the flames subside, take a running jump and grab the pole. Immediately climb up before the flames return, about 10 lengths and turn to face north/east (see screenshot). When you hear the spike sound, backflip with a twist to the slope behind, jump to land on the spike block as the spikes receed, then sideflip right to the sloping block. Jump off with a curve left to land on the small ledge. Take a running jump and grab to the next pole, shimmy right then backflip into the opening in the wall.

  Ramp Area

Facing the ramp, from the leftmost side, slide down the first slope. About half way down the second slope, jump and curve right to land in the corridor on the right. Note: If you missed the jump to the corridor, there is a ladder at the bottom of the ramp to climb back up for another try. Back in the corridor, climb the ladder, pickup the 1st of 10 Lives and watch a cutscene of a door opening at the bottom of the ramp. Once again take note of the wall pattern then return to the ramp.

( Secret #3 ) From the right side of the ramp, slide until you reach the second slope. As soon as you hit the second slope, immediately jump with a curve left to land on the ledge. Pickup the large medipack which is Secret #3.

Slide to the bottom of the ramp and pickup the flares in the alcove behind. There is a ladder in the alcove to climb back to the top of the slope if necessary. Exit through the newly opened door.

  Double Boulder Room

( Secret #4 ) Turn left, lower into the crawlspace and pickup the large medipack which is Secret #4. Turn around to face the small climbable portion of the opposite wall. Jump and grab the wall and with Lara's hands and legs situated just between the textured section, take a backflip off the ladder to land on the upper floor.

Avoid the boulders in the room ahead, turn left and pull up and slide onto the slope. Jump the slopes and curve left on the last one to land on the left ledge. Push the floor lever and watch a cutscene of a door opening in the area below. Slide down the last slope and shoot the Ahmet from the safety of the small platform. Head down the corridor and climb onto the trigger tile to show another door opening. Head back to the other end of the hallway, climb onto the trigger tile and face outward. Dash or take several running jumps down the corridor, curve right and climb the ladder at the end. Climb 5 lengths up and while still on the ladder, do a backflip with a twist to the sloping block behind. Jump off the next slopes and curve left on the last one to land on the left ledge. Take a few steps, then a standing jump to the raised block, turn left and jump up and grab the jumpswitch. A cutscene shows another door opening into the next room.

( Secret #5 ) Return to the trigger tile to raise the block again. Dash or take running jumps through the hallway, curve right and climb the climbable wall at the end of the corridor. Climb 5 lengths, then do a backflip with a twist to the sloping block behind. Jump onto the next two slopes with a curve left on the last one to land on the ledge with the floor lever. Take a step or two forward, then a standing jump to the raised block and crawl into the crawlspace in the wall. Pickup the revolver ammo which is Secret #5. Then head through the newly opened door.

Return to the trigger tile to raise the block again. Dash or take running jumps through the hallway, curve right and climb the climbable wall at the end of the corridor. Climb 5 lengths, then do a backflip with a twist to the sloping block behind. Jump onto the next two slopes with a curve left on the last one to land on the ledge with the floor lever. Take a step or two forward, then a standing jump to the raised block and crawl into the crawlspace in the wall. Pickup the revolver ammo which is Secret #5. Then head through the newly opened door.

  Push Block Puzzle Room

Through the door and on the right, are four pushable blocks. Three are needed to complete the pattern on the walls and open the door to the next area. Head to the rightmost block and pull out once. Face south and pull the block once. Head to the other side of the block, face north and push twice into the alcove. Watch an explosion and a cutscene of the door signifying you've placed the correct block in the correct alcove. Return to the pushable blocks and pull out the leftmost block twice. Head around the block, face north and pull the block once. Head around the block, face west and push the block three times. Head around the block, face south and push the block into the alcove. Watch another explosion and cutscene of the door. Return to the pushable blocks and pull out the rightmost block twice. Face south and pull the block once. Face north and push the block once. Face east and pull the block three times. Face north and push the block into the alcove. Watch the final explosion and cutscene of the door opening. Head through the door and watch a flyby of the next area.

  Lava Room

Pickup the large medipack and drop into the room. Quickly take standing jumps forward up the slope before the Ahmet attacks. Or just shoot him while backflipping and jumping. From the top of the slope, jump up and grab the monkey swing. Swing forward, then left and drop to the hill in the middle of the room. If you haven't already, shoot the Ahmet, then shoot both vases across the room, revealing a rope and some pickups on the far ledge. Take a standing jump and grab the rope. Shift right to face north/east, then swing and drop to the small ledge by the windows. Take a running jump to the ledge and pickup the Revolver and Lasersight . Turn around to face north, head to the wall and climb into the crawlspace above.

  Mountain Waterfall Area

Lower into the next room, turn right and jump over the slope to land on a small platform. Pickup the Revolver ammo. Turn to face north/west and take a standing jump over the slope. Immediately jump to land on the ledge ahead. Turn around, take a backflip to the slope behind and grab the monkey swing above. Turn around and swing as far as possible, drop and jump to the ledge. Shoot the Ahmet or take a running curve and jump from a high point in the floor into the alcove and shoot the Ahmet from there. Pickup the Water Element which opens the door in the north wall. Head to the entrance and from the leftmost side, slide into the next area.

While sliding, jump to the sloping block ahead, jump off the next slopes and make your way right, then off the last slope, slide and jump to the next one. Continue jumping until you reach the slope beside the waterfall and curve right to land on the waterfall. [Note: If you fall into the water, there is a ledge in the north/east corner of the pool on which you can pull up. However, using this ledge awakens a crocodile lurking in the depths below. To get back onto the slopes, angle to face south/west and take a standing jump to the space between slopes. Jump off to reach the next set of slopes and curve right to land on the waterfall. ] http://www.freewebs.com/trlescreenshots/TL01L.jpgClimb the ladder on the right and shoot the Horned Reaper / Demigod. Head south and pickup the Revolver ammo. Head north and climb the block to the left of the large tree. Climb the next block, turn right and take a running jump to the waterfall. Pickup the 2nd of 10 Lives (the 1st of 5 needed to open the door). Take another running jump east to the flat portion of rock. Face south, angle left and take a running jump to another set of sloped blocks. Continue jumping forward, then curve right onto another set of slopes until you reach the platform where the Horned Reaper used to be. Head south through the stone archway and quickly shoot the Ahmet before he ducks into the corridors. Take a running jump up to the blue-lit area within the rock. Pickup the 3rd of 10 Lives (the 2nd of 5 needed to open the door).

( Secret #6 ) Before heading back, turn to face west and take a running jump over the slopes into the stone corridor below. Head forward (west), pull up and slide into a small area. Pickup the large medipack which is Secret #6. Turn right (north), pull up and slide. Finish off the Ahmet if he's still around, then head to the exit by the burning rock. Angle to face north/east and take a running jump to the slopes. Continue jumping right, past the trees back to the stone entrance.

Before heading back, turn to face west and take a running jump over the slopes into the stone corridor below. Head forward (west), pull up and slide into a small area. Pickup the large medipack which is Secret #6. Turn right (north), pull up and slide. Finish off the Ahmet if he's still around, then head to the exit by the burning rock. Angle to face north/east and take a running jump to the slopes. Continue jumping right, past the trees back to the stone entrance.

Exit through the stone archway and slide back down the cliff. Head back to the small ladder and drop to the waterfall below. Angle to face south/west, run off the edge and start jumping between the two slopes. Make your way along the slope to the right and grab the monkey swing above. Swing forward to the closed door at the end and pickup the 4th of 10 Lives (the 3rd of 5 needed to open the door). Drop into the water.

( Secret #7 ) Swim to the bottom of the pool where the water is rushing out of the rock and pickup the Revolver ammo which is Secret #7.

Swim to the bottom of the pool and head through an opening in the south/east corner. Pickup the 5th of 10 Lives (the 4th of 5 needed to open the door). Swim up to the opening at the top and pull out. Jump back and forth between the two slopes with a curve right to land on the flat portion of rock. Face south, jump over the water hole and take a standing jump to the slope ahead. Jump off the next few slopes and land on the walkway near the exit door. Face east and take a standing jump and grab the block. Pull up, crawl through the rock crevice and pickup the 6th of 10 Lives (the 5th of 5 needed to open the door) and watch the cutscene of the door finally opening. At the edge of the doorway, angle right and take a standing jump back into the previous room.

  Lava Room (Revisited)

Head south along the safe path, turn left (east) at the end and take a standing jump to the safe triangle off the middle hill. Take a standing jump forward to another safe spot on the other side of the hill and another to the safe part of the floor. Climb onto the trigger tile and watch as Lara looks up to the hidden vase above. Combine the revolver + lasersight, shoot the vase which opens the double doors on the ledge and lowers a rope over the lava. Take a standing jump and grab the rope, swing to the ledge and head through the doors into the next area.

  12 Boulder Room

As you enter this large ramp room, some caution music sounds (a good place to save). Head along the left hand side of the ramp and when you reach a small raised portion of floor, 6 boulders fall ahead of you. Sideflip left to a sloped portion of wall then jump off as the boulders roll past. Slowly step forward as 6 more boulders fall. Step back to the raised portion of floor, sideflip left and jump off while the rest of the boulders roll past. Head to the top to another section of raised floor and jump up and grab the large monkey swing above. Swing forward (west) then left to the entrance of the next room.

  Raised Blocks and Fire Jump Room

Drop down onto the trigger tile, watch a cutscene of a timed door opening and 3 timed blocks rising. Timed Run: Step backward as far as possible, sidestep left and angle slightly to the right. Take a running jump to the first block and without stopping run and jump with a slight curve right to the next block. Without stopping run and jump with a slight curve right to the final block. Continue over the last block without stopping and jump to the ledge. Continue running with a curve right to reach the wall switch on the right. Pull the switch, immediately roll and dash forward without stopping past both doors into the next room. [Note: Ignore the wall switch between the two doors. It is only there if you get stuck between them.] Head left and take a standing jump to the block ahead.

( Secret #8 ) Turn right, jump back and grab the ladder. Climb down, pickup the large medipack which is Secret #8 and climb back up.

Take a running jump to one of the slopes, jump back and forth between the slopes, twist to face the flames and when the flames subside, jump to the right until you reach the safe platform. Take a running jump to the next set of slopes, jump back and forth and land on the flat block when the flames subside. Facing north, head to the top left corner of the block (it is safe from the flames) and take a standing jump to the platform ahead. Turn right (east) and jump up and grab the ceiling trap door. Reverse roll, step forward to the edge and climb into the upper room. Avoid the chains, head towards the red glowing area, pickup the Fire Element and watch a cutscene of the door in the lower room opening. Reverse, head north back through the chains and drop back into the lower room. Take a standing jump west and slide back into the large ramp room.

  12 Boulder Room (revisited)

( Secret #9 ) Head to the top of the ramp (east) and climb into the small alcove in the north/east corner. Pickup the small medipack which is Secret #9.

Head through the arch at the top of the ramp and place the Water Element on the left and the Fire Element on the right, opening the double doors into the next area.

  Statue Puzzle Room

Carefully step forward and notice lava tiles and trigger tiles ahead. The trigger tiles are safe and raise and lower certain blocks. From left to right, the tiles number 1 to 6 (see screenshot).

  1. Angle left and run onto Tile#2.
  2. Jump down to the lower level and move the statue onto the lowered block in the alcove.
  3. Reverse, climb onto Tile#5, jump to Tile#4, then backflip back to Tile#5.
  4. Jump to the south ledge and pull the statue off the raised block and onto the lowered block.
  5. Head back to the trigger tiles and jump onto Tile#6.
  6. Jump back to the south ledge, head to the north ledge and step onto Tile#1.
  7. Head to the statue, grab the raised block, shimmy right and climb to the front of the statue.
  8. Push the statue forward (east), then left (north).
  9. Head back to the south ledge and step onto Tile#6, then Tile#5.
10. Head to the statue, grab the raised block, shimmy to the front of the statue and climb up.
11. Push the statue forward (east), then right (south).
12. Head back down to the lower floor and climb onto Tile#3.
13. Climb the raised blocks to the statue and push forward (east), then left (north).
14. Push the statue onto the trigger tile and watch a cutscene of the door, not yet opened.
15. Push the other statue onto the trigger tile and the door opens into the next area.

  Raised Push Block Room

Head through the double doors, head left and pickup the large medipack in the alcove. Head south past the double doors, angle to face south/west and take a standing jump over the hot tiles. Take a standing jump south onto a trigger tile and watch a cutscene of a block rising, blocking access to a pushable block behind. Take a standing jump north/east onto another trigger tile and watch a cutscene of the block lowering. Face south/west and take a standing jump to the safe tile. Facing south, grab the edge of the block, shimmy left and drop to the other side. Pull out the pushable block once onto the lowered block. Jump north/east to the safe tile, face west, jump and grab the edge of the block and shimmy right. Step onto the trigger tile (west) and watch a cutscene of the block raising the pushable block. Take a standing jump south/east and jump up and grab the climbable wall. Climb right as far as possible and drop onto the safe tile just before the pushable block. Reverse roll, push the block south and take a north/east standing jump + grab (ctrl) down to the safe tile. Take a south/west standing jump to the next safe tile and another north/east to the trigger tile. Watch the cutscene as the block lowers, opening the way into the next area. Take standing jumps to the safe tiles and proceed through the newly opened entranceway.

  Slicer/Dicer Room

Watch the flyby for clues on how to proceed through the next hazard. Turn right and take standing jumps to the far corner and pickup the large medipack. Use the revolver + lasersight, angle to face south/west and shoot the swinging target on the far wall, lowering the first of two ropes necessary to traverse the cavern. Take standing jumps to the other side of the room, pickup the revolver ammo, face north/west and shoot the second swinging target, lowering the second rope. Take standing jumps back to the entrance and face west making sure to stand back from the edge to avoid the blades. [Note: It is possible to traverse this area without losing life and a good place to save your game.] With Lara positioned facing the ropes so that the ropes are aligned, wait for the middle blade to pass, then run off the edge to the block below. Take a step back and wait until the middle blade just comes into view (see screenshot). Immediately take a running jump and grab the first rope. Let Lara swing forward, then on the backswing press and hold the "forward slash key" (/) to swing forward and back. On the second swing forward, jump and grab the second rope. Immediately climb up once and wait for the middle blade to pass. Slide to the bottom of the rope, then swing safely to the other side and pickup the well deserved large medipack.

Turn left (south) and head to the end of the ledge. Turn left (east) and when the blade passes, slide down the slope, drop to the right onto the blue lit trigger tile and watch a cutscene of a block lowering on the ledge. Pickup the large medipack, face north and wait for the blade to pass. Climb the block and take standing jumps all the way to the other side to land onto the other trigger tile. Watch a cutscene of another block lowering and pickup another large medipack. Face south and wait for the blade to pass. Climb the block, take a standing jump up the next block then angle right and take two more standing jumps up the slope to the safety of the upper ledge. Enter the alcove with the trigger tile, turn left and push the block as far as possible out of the corridor. Turn left (north) and head to the end of the ledge. Pull out the pushable block, jump back to the ledge and pull the block in front of the green lit trigger tile. Enter the small corridor, pull the block onto the trigger tile and watch a cutscene of a door opening on the north side of the ledge. Exit the corridor, head north and exit through the newly opened door.

  Circular Blades and Stairway Corridor

Head forward and step on the trigger tile, opening a door at the end of the corridor. Reverse roll and head left to the first circular blade. Climb the block and step as close to the blades as possible without losing life. [Tip: Facing the wall and taking a sidestep towards the blade will get you close without losing life)] When the blades open, reverse roll through the circle. Head to the second circular blade, climb the block and reverse roll through. Step onto the trigger tile on the left and watch a cutscene of a block lowering in the next room, opening access to a new area. Exit through the corridor, take a standing jump through the west opening, avoiding the chain semiblocking the exit. Head west through the chains, climb the ledge at the end and head up the stairway in the next room. Climb into the hidden crawlspace on the right, lower onto the trigger tile and watch a cutscene of the door opening at the top of the stairs. Exit the crawlspace, head to the top of the stairs, pickup the small medipack on the right and head through the door into the next area.

  Moving Door Maze

The maze ahead contains doors controlled by 4 levers and a reset trigger tile on the left (to reset the doors to their original position).

( Secret #10 ) Push Levers #1, #2, #3, follow the left side of the maze to the middle and pickup the large medipack. Exit back to the beginning and return the levers back to their original positions.

Push Levers #1, #3 and #4 and follow the right side of the maze through to the end. Pickup the 7th of 10 Lives and the block underneath rises. Facing the wall, sideflip to the slope, backflip to the collapsible tile behind, take a standing jump forward and grab the ladder. Climb to the top, then do a backflip with a twist to the next collapsible tile. Jump up and grab the monkey swing and swing to the other side. Swing to face the next set of collapsible tiles and drop down to the one below. Take a standing jump and grab the next collapsible tile. Pull up and take a running jump and grab (to clear the overhead arch), then take a standing jump and grab the last tile. Pull up, reverse roll, run forward and grab the upper ledge. Pull up, backflip, draw weapons and while jumping between the slopes, shoot the Horned Reaper who's been pestering you all this time. Once the demon is dead, jump and grab the rope and swing over to the flat ledge. Pickup the large medipack and face the middle boulder. When the boulder begins to roll towards you, jump onto the slope, over the boulder and run to the left to the safe slope. Pickup the Water Element and take a running jump north to the other side of the ledge. Place the Water Element into the wall receptacle to flood the room below. Swim down to the bottom and pickup the 8th of 10 Lives needed to complete the game. Swim into the sewer tunnel in the south/west corner and pickup the 9th of 10 Lives . Swim through the tunnel in the north wall, through the door at the end of the underwater maze and left through the corridor to surface at the end. Head up the ramp and pull the wall lever, opening the door on the left. Before entering the room, reverse roll and head back down to the corridor which is no longer flooded. Pull the wall lever, head down the corridor and pickup the 10th of 10 Lives . Head back up the ramp back to the top and enter the room on the left. Place 5 of the 10 Lives in the wall receptacles around the room (one is located on a block near the southwest corner. The door back to the original room opens and now you can place the remaining 5 Lives in the wall receptacles on the ledge, opening the last and final door in the game.

  Greater Heights

Climb through the newly opened door, with Lara's back to the first slope (facing east), backflip to the slope and continue jumping to the top. Grab the pole, shimmy to face south/west (Lara's back to the entranceway) and backflip into the room at the top. Climb through the window on the right, onto a glass elevator and rise into a Higher Realm of Existence...

 

The End.
