SOUTH PACIFIC CONTEST: Cook Island's Treasure

You start in front of a tent. To the west are a pit and some closed gates. To the south are a high opening and a closed gate. Go east into the foggy mud slopes and look to the south wall for a crawl space. Jump to grab the crawl space and pull up. Crawl forward to the end wall before you drop on the west side. Beware of a spike pit and go into the north-west corner. Use the wheel and get a cut scene of a block rising. Crawl back out and slide down the mud slopes. Go west and look to the left for the block. Climb onto the block and pull up into the south wall opening. Go east up a slope and jump to the left to avoid a rolling ball on the slope. Use the wheel on the east wall and get a cut scene of water filling the pit.

 

Exit the opening and go west to the water filled pit. There are two monkeys running around. They only attack if you shoot first. Dive into the water and swim to the south-west corner. Pull down the underwater lever on the south wall. Get out of the water and go to the open gate in the north wall. Enter and face a lava pit. Jump to the north-west into the west alcove. Pull down the jump switch on the south wall. You hear a gate open. Jump to the east alcove for a small medipack. Then jump to the north ledge. You see a red key lock to the right. Go left through the open gate. You are on a ledge over a lava pool.

 

Run off the west edge to land in a lower alcove. Pick up revolver ammo and run and jump to grab the north ledge. Pull up and shoot three bats. Run and jump to a north-east ledge. Jump north onto a ledge. You face a large outdoor area. To the north are waterfalls and a pool. To the west are a bridge and a wall ladder. You can see a jump switch in the upper north-west corner. It is protected by a spike trap. Drop to the ground and shoot three small dinosaurs. You can go into the cave behind the waterfalls, but you need a key for a closed gate that is there. Dive into the water and swim to the south side of a column to pick up flares. Then swim into the underwater tunnel in the east wall.

 

When the tunnel splits, take the right branch. Follow it and surface in a small room. Go to the south-east corner for a large medipack. Notice the shotgun and skeleton on the spike trap. You will come back here later. Swim back and take a right turn at the tunnel junction. Follow the tunnel and swim upward and surface. Pull up onto a ledge with a wall switch.  Save the game for a deadly trap. Pull down the wall switch and the gate opens behind you. Jump into the doorway and look inside the gate. Notice a red gate, floor blades, and a wall switch in the south-east corner. Jump the floor blades and pull down the wall switch in the corner. The red gate will open. Turn and jump back over the floor blades and jump into the open gate. This has to be done before a spiked ceiling descends down upon you. When the spikes have gone into the floor, return to the room. Get around the stopped floor blades and pick up the large medipack. Go back to the open red gate.

 

Go up the steps and look for a dark opening in the south wall. Use a flare and drop into that hole and pick up the laser sight. Get out and pull up into the room above. Do not use the ladder, as there is a fire trap at the top. Pull up onto the south ledge. Run and jump over the fire trap and into the corner. Go south and enter the room above the trap room. Go east and shoot the box. Pick up the crowbar from the floor. Go west and stay to the left of the hole. Be careful of the right side wall spikes. Go to the north-west corner and crouch down to pick up a revolver. Then pull down the jump switch on the east wall. You get a cut scene of the spikes by the shotgun and skeleton. Drop into the hole and drop back into the water. Swim back to the room with the skeleton on the spike trap. Pull back the skeleton and pick up the shotgun and the Bone Key. Swim back to the pool and swim north to surface by the waterfalls.

 

Enter the cave behind the waterfalls and go to the left. Use the Bone Key in the key lock and the red gate opens. Enter the room and be careful of the fire in the middle. Shoot the boxes on the floor and pick up red shotgun shells and blue shotgun shells. You also uncover a silver urn. Move the urn for red shotgun shells. Then move the urn onto the gray tile next to the entrance. Use the block behind the fire to pull up to the higher ledge. Shoot the boxes and pick up two grenade normal ammo, grenade super ammo, and grenade flash ammo. The box on the north ledge is movable. Push the block to the wall and pick up flares, small medipack, and the grenade gun. Now pull the block back. Go behind it and press the pushbutton on the wall. A block rises and lifts the urn to the ledge. Move the urn onto the tile in the south-west corner. You get a cut scene of spikes near a jump switch. Drop to the floor and exit the room. Go through the cave and exit the waterfalls.

 

Go to the south-west corner and climb the block. Stand jump onto the bridge and shoot a small dinosaur. Jump west to grab the ladder and climb to the top. Go north to pick up red shotgun shells. Stand jump and pull down the jump switch. You will need full health to survive the fall to the ground below. Dive into the water and swim to the south-west corner. Surface and pull up into the open gate in the west wall. Go west through the crawl space. At the end, shoot the gate and enter the room. There is an empty pedestal in the corner. Go north and dive into the water. Swim down and north. Swim through a crawl space and then swim to the left. Evade two crocodiles and swim south. Then swim west and see a closed gate. Swim into the alcove above the gate and turn around. Use the underwater lever to open the gate. Swim through the gate and pull up to a ledge. Turn around and shoot the crocodiles that have followed you. Now you dive back into the water and swim back to the underwater tunnel. Swim to the lower south-east corner to pick up crossbow normal ammo.

 

Swim back through the gate and pull up onto the ledge. There is a tent and a campfire to the north. Go west and see three small trees. You can stand jump onto the slope behind them. Stand in the corner and pull up to the north wall. Step onto the roof of the building and run and jump to the south to grab the wall by a small plant. Pull up and go to the left behind the block for secret #1 and a Rose Goodie. Safety drop to the ground and use the corner slope to get back to the roof. There seems to be an invisible ceiling that prevents you from jumping directly back to the roof.

 

Go east and shoot a native. Jump into the left opening in the east wall. Shoot a box and pick up crossbow normal ammo. Jump back to the roof. Shoot the boxes in the right opening. You can also shoot another native safely from the roof. Jump over there and pick up crossbow explosive ammo and the crossbow. Jump back to the roof and jump into the left opening. Push the south box to the south wall. Pick up revolver ammo.  Now pull the north box back out of the north alcove. Jump to the roof and back again to get into the alcove to pick up the Red Key. Dive into the water and follow the underwater tunnel back to the room with the empty pedestal. Go back through the crawl space and jump to the bridge. Go to the high blocks in the south-east corner. Jump the ledges over the lava pit again and go east to the red key lock.

 

Use the Red Key and the gate opens. Enter the room and go up the steps. Pick up the Infida Sliver from the pedestal. Go to the west wall behind the pillar and press the pushbutton. You get a cut scene of a block dropping in the pool near the start area. Exit the room and go south. Jump the lava pit again and return to the pool. Dive in and use the new underwater lever on the east wall. Get out of the pool and enter the open gate in the south wall.

 

Go south and shoot three bats. Continue south and get a flyby of the next area. Climb down the ladder and dive into the water. Swim east and swim behind the pillar to use the underwater lever. This raises a column on the platform on that pillar. Swim back to the ladder and climb to the top. Jump forward to the ledge and get a cut scene showing the trap door dropping. Look to the south-east for the raised column. Stand jump to grab the horizontal pole to the south. Spin around and jump forward to the south ledge. Go to the south-west corner and push in a movable block as far as possible. Shoot a green creature that sneaks up behind you. Pull down the wall switch and hear the trap door rise again. Go east into a tunnel. You may see something in the wall to the north but I think it is just a graphic mistake. Crawl through the south tunnel to a closed gate. Use the crowbar to open the gate. Pick up a large medipack and pull back the movable block once. Exit and go behind the movable block and pull up into an alcove above it. Pick up the Red Crystal and get down to go back to the outside ledge. The trap door is up again and will stay up.

 

Run and jump to the raised column. Then run and jump to the west wall to pull down a jump switch and fall into the water. You get a cut scene of spikes on an upper ledge. Swim back to the ladder and climb up. Jump back to the raised column and then to the trap door. Run and jump to grab the north ledge. Pull up and enter the crawl space behind the spike trap. Drop on the other side and go down a slope to a water pool. Dive in and enter an underwater tunnel. Swim into a flooded room and pick up flares from the floor. Swim to the lower south-west corner and use an underwater lever to open a trap door at the top of the room. Then swim back through the tunnel and surface for air. Swim back and swim up through the trap door. Swim up to the upper east wall and use the underwater lever near another trap door.  The trap door opens so swim up into another flooded room. Swim to the upper north-west corner and use another underwater lever. This opens the last trap door above your head. Surface and get some air.  You can dive back into the flooded room and swim to the south-west corner for a large medipack.

 

Swim up and pull up into a small room. Carefully time the fire emitter and jump into the tunnel in the south wall. Place the Red Crystal and get a cut scene of a gate opening. Exit the tunnel carefully over the fire emitter. Dive into the water and swim down through the trap doors. Exit the bottom room by swimming through an open red gate in the south-east corner. Swim back to the ladder and climb it again. Run and jump to the raised column again. Run and jump to the south down to the open gate. Enter the room and shoot three small dinosaurs. Carefully jump the fires and run up the east steps. Pick up the Bone Key from the pedestal and be careful of the fire emitter behind you. Go down the steps and stand jump into the south-west corner for flares. Jump the fires again and exit the room to dive into the water. Swim back to the ladder and climb to the top again.

 

This time, get onto the small ledge to the west of the ladder. Aim at the slope to the south-west. Run and jump to that slope so that you bounce to the north. As you bounce back between the slopes, roll and face north. Then stop jumping and grab the ladder on the north wall. Shimmy to the left wall and climb to the top. Pull up, back flip, roll, and grab the south ledge. Pull up onto the ledge and ignore the gate in the west wall for now. First slide down to the flatter ledge to the east. Look at the south wall and you can see a tunnel partially hidden by green leaves. Stand jump there to grab the edge and pull up into the crawl space. Crawl through and stand up beside a pit. Drop into the water below and pull up onto the north ledge. Use the revolver and laser sight to shoot the box in the water. Or just shoot a grenade at it. The box breaks for secret #2. Dive into the water and pick up the red shotgun shells, blue shotgun shells, and the Rose Goodie. Pull up to the north ledge and go into the north tunnel to slide back into the water.

 

Swim to the ladder and climb up. Go to the west ledge and repeat the jumps to get back to the ledge in the upper south-west corner. Shoot the gate and pull up into the opening. Follow the steps down into the pit and go south to shoot a green creature. Use the Bone Key to open the gate. Enter a small room with a shallow pool. Continue west and go down some steps and into the raptor room. Wait at the bottom and shoot a raptor that attacks from the south. The raptor is also poisonous if it bites you. Go south and see a large closed gate in the south wall. Go to the broken gate in the west wall. Shoot a second raptor and enter the cave. Pick up a large medipack and enter the crawl space in the lower south-west corner wall. Enter the small room and go to the west slope. Back flip onto the slope and jump forward to grab an upper ledge. The broken ladder in front of you is actually a trap door. Pull up and follow the ledge east to the corner.

 

Save the game in front of the timed wall switch. Pull down the wall switch and hear the trap door rise. Roll and run over the ledge and the trap door. Run and jump to the opening in the south-west corner. This is harder than it sounds because you keep turning and running off the ledge. Save the game again before entering the tunnel. Stand jump over the two floor blades. Run east over the two breakable tiles to the end of the tunnel. Pull down a wall switch and get a cut scene of a gate opening. Return and drop into the first hole. Follow the west crawl space for red shotgun shells and blue shotgun shells. Crawl back and pull up back into the tunnel. Continue and jump over the second hole. Jump the two floor blades again and exit the tunnel.

 

Go east and go through the crawl space again. Go through the cave and shoot another raptor. Go north and hop onto the north-west block to find the open gate. Enter the room and shoot a native. Hop onto the south ledge and pull the skeleton back from the wall switch. Save the game in front of the timed wall switch. Pull down the wall switch, roll, and run near the wall to get around the skeleton. Jump over the fire and sprint to the end wall switch. Save the game again in front of this timed switch.  Pull down the wall switch and back flip twice before a fire starts again by the switch. Turn to the left and jump off the ledge. Run and jump onto the lowest corner of the shorter block at the north wall. You will not slide off the slope. Run and jump to grab the edge of the block to the west. Pull up and slide down the slope. Jump into the tunnel in the west wall before the gate closes again. Save the game when you make it.

 

Go to the end and run and jump over the spike trap. You emerge in an opening above the room that you left. Stand jump up and grab the ceiling and monkey swing east and drop onto the ledge. Go south and through the open doorway. Enter the room and shoot a raptor. Go to the south-west and pick up the crystal off the pedestal. You get a flyby back to the raptor room. The large gate opens and a T-rex emerges. T-rex walks into the room and the level ends before you can battle with it.
