Return to the Ice Palace

You start in an ice cave. Run west down the slope and shoot two snow leopards. At the bottom of the slope, dive into the water hole. Swim down the underwater tunnel to the end. Pull up onto a ledge and the doors open for you. You enter a large room and see a Yeti in a cage. Go to the north-west corner for flares. There are closed bars in the north wall. Shoot the yellow bell at the east wall to open the bars. Enter the north room and see many slopes over a pit.

 

Run and jump to grab the top of the first slope. Shimmy to the left, pull up, slide down the slopes and jump with a left curve onto another slope. Slide down and grab the edge. Shimmy to the right, pull up, back flip, and roll to grab another edge of a slope. Shimmy to the left, pull up, back flip, and roll to grab another edge of a slope. Shimmy to the right but not to the end. Stay back one tile from the end of the ledge. Pull up, back flip, and roll to grab the side of a flat ledge and pull up. Run and jump north to a slope and bounce to another slope. Jump to a flat ledge. Run and jump south-west to a ledge and go south behind a column to reach a wall switch. Pull down the wall switch and get a cut scene of a block rising.

 

Safety drop to the floor and light a flare. Avoid the spike traps and run south. There is a climbable ladder on the left side of the column at the south wall. Climb up and exit south back to the room. Hop onto the risen block and pull up to the upper balcony. Run and jump to grab the east ledge. Pull up and pick up two Uzi ammo in the corner. Pull down the wall switch and get a cut scene of a door opening. Jump back to the upper balcony and go north to enter the open door. Follow the tunnel to a small room and shoot two guards. Climb the ladder in the south-west corner. Back flip to land on a slope. Jump forward and land on a column. Run and jump to the slope to the north-east. Shimmy to the right, pull up, back flip, and roll to grab the ledge in the south-east corner. Pick up a Mayan Mask (called Load) from the ledge. Safety drop to the floor.

 

Exit the room and go to the receptacle on the west wall. Place the Mayan Mask and the trap door opens behind you. Drop into the cage and shoot the two Yetis. Go west into the tunnel and follow the tunnel to the end. Use the wall switch to open the door. Enter the open door and shoot three snow leopards. Pick up Uzi ammo to the right side of the door entrance. Go north and watch out for falling icicles. Go north though an icy valley and go towards the temple. Shoot two Yetis that appear from the gate in the north-west corner.

 

Enter the dark temple and go up the steps. Light a flare so that you see the edge of an upper balcony. Wait and shoot a Yeti. Use the light of the binoculars and see a door in the east wall, a wide door in the north wall and a ladder at the west wall. In the pit you can see cages with Yetis. Climb down the west wall ladder into the pit. Go south and pick up flares, red shotgun shells, and two Uzi ammo near the cage. Go to the east wall and pull down a wall switch. Turn to the right and go south into the cage. Shoot the Yeti and go west to the end of the cage. Pull down the wall switch in the dark north-west corner. You get a cut scene of the wide door dropping on the upper balcony. Exit the cage and climb the wall ladder on the west wall.

 

Shoot another Yeti and go north to enter the open wide door. Go east and see a textured tile in the corner. Pull out the moveable block from the north wall and place it on that tile. You will have to pull it back into the door entrance area to maneuver it. Exit back to the balcony and see that the fires are lit in the corners.  The door is also open in the east wall. Go there and pick up secret #1, Uzi ammo, and an Uzi. Exit the alcove and return to the north room. Go through the opening created by moving the moveable block. Enter the room and pick up a large medipack from near the north wall. Go west and pull back a moveable block three times. Go behind it and push a moveable block to the south. Pull down the wall switch that was hidden by the block. You get a cut scene of the gate opening outside the temple.

 

Exit through the room and go down the steps to exit the temple. Loop around to the right and enter the open gate in the north-west corner. Go north and see a deep hole. Climb down a wall ladder into a tunnel. Go to the north end and see two closed doors in the east wall. In the west wall are two alcoves. All the blocks on the ledge are moveable. You can get into the alcoves and push the blocks. First push all the blocks to the south. Behind the last north block are two Uzi ammo. Now push all the blocks to the north. Behind the last south block is a wall switch. Pull down the wall switch to open the large doors in the north end of the tunnel.

 

Enter the doors into another tunnel. Shoot two guards and sprint north down the tunnel to avoid the falling icicles. Turn the corner and go west. The large door opens as you approach. Enter the room and see a cage of Yetis, a key lock and a closed door. Go to the north-west corner for a small medipack and red shotgun shells. Shoot the bell at the north wall to open the door. Enter the door and follow the tunnel to the end. You enter a corridor with spikes and swinging blades. Carefully get past the traps and enter an alcove. Climb the blocks and continue to follow the tunnel. Drop into another tunnel and follow the tunnel to emerge onto a balcony over the room with the key lock and cage.

 

Go south and see a closed door. Climb a pole in the south-east corner. Back flip onto a higher balcony. To the west are a receptacle and a closed door. Go to the north-west corner and pick up Uzi ammo, red shotgun shells, and a large medipack. Look out the window and you can see a key on the outside window ledge. Shoot the bell in the north wall alcove. Climb down the pole to the balcony below. Enter the open door in the south wall and go up the steps. At the end, climb a ladder on the west wall. Back flip into a tunnel. Follow the tunnel to the end and stop. Do not slide down into the next area yet. Pull down the wall switch on the north wall. You get a very dark cut scene of a gate opening. Then slide down into the starting area in front of the temple.

 

Enter the temple again and go up the steps to the balcony. Climb down the west wall ladder into the pit. Go to the north-east corner and enter the open cage. Shoot two Yetis and hop into an upper alcove at the west wall. Pick up a Mayan Mask and exit the cage. Climb the west ladder again and exit the temple. Loop around to the right and back to the open gate. Climb down the ladder and follow the tunnel again to the room with the key lock and Yetis. Go through the open door again and follow the tunnel. Get past the spike traps and swinging blades again. Follow the tunnels back to the second floor balcony. Climb the pole again and back flip to the third floor balcony. Go to the west wall and place the Mayan Mask to open the door.

 

You emerge into a large outdoor area. The camera view changes to annoy you. However, you can look up to the upper west wall and see an opening. But you cannot get to it. Face the building and hop up into the far left opening. Pick up the Silver Key (called Load) from the window ledge. Get down and enter the building again. Climb down the pole and safety drop to the ground floor. Use the key to open the cage. Shoot two Yetis and enter the cage. Follow the crawl space in the back corner of the cage. Enter an open arena and shoot three snow leopards.

 

Hop onto the short block in the arena. Jump to the east column. Then jump to a south column. Continue jumping to follow the columns and ledges around the arena in a clock-wise direction. You get higher each jump so save often. When you reach the highest ledge on the wall, turn and jump to the ledge behind you to the east. Stand jump to grab the opening in the upper south-east corner. Pull up and go south to an area with spike traps and climbable walls. You could climb the walls and back flip, roll, and grab another wall to work your way around the room. However, being lazy, I did a stand jump to the south-west to grab the top of the slope. Pull up, slide down, and jump to grab the wall ladder. Climb up to the top and pull down a wall switch. You get a cut scene of snowballs rolling down the hill in the large outdoor area.

 

Follow the tunnel around and slide back to where you started by the spikes. Go north and follow the ledges down around in a counter-clock-wise direction. When you are in the north-east corner, run to the north off the ledge and land on a ledge above the entrance door. Pick up a large medipack, Uzi ammo, and red shotgun shells. Safety drop to the ground and go back through the crawl space. Go left and enter the open door again. Go through the tunnel and the spike traps and swinging blades again. Follow the tunnel again to the second floor balcony. Climb the pole and back flip to the third floor balcony. Go west out the open door and back into the outside area.

 

The landscape has changed. You can now easily climb the blocks to the west. First climb the snow blocks and go to the upper north-west corner. Pick up a shotgun and two red shotgun shells. Climb the snow blocks to get to the opening in the upper west wall. The camera view changes. Slide down the slope to the bottom. Safety drop into the hole in the south-west corner. Slide down a long sloped tunnel to the south. Go south and pick up a small medipack, red shotgun shells, and Uzi ammo. Pull up into a slope and slide down. You get a cut scene of a big bird on some steps. Go east and shoot the big bird. Run up the steps and go north to pick up the Horseman's Gem. Place it in the receptacle in the north wall. The gate slowly opens. Enter the tunnel and follow it to a small room. Go south and pick up Pharos Knot from the floor and the gates open in the corners. Take either exit gate and reach a tunnel. Slide down a long slope n the tunnel. You land in an outside area. Run towards the snowmobile and the level ends.
