This is a revised version of a level. However, it is different enough from the
original that I though it needed another walkthrough. [End note]
You start with a short flyby and stop with Lara in
a bedroom. You can turn around and shoot an empty box. Go west and hear a short
narration. To the south is a washroom that contains nothing to pick up. Further
west is a small library. Go north and see a lion's head on the wall. Use the
pistols to jump up and down to shoot the ball in the lion's mouth. A door opens
behind you. Enter the alcove and pick up the secret
glasses for secret #1. Continue north
and enter a living room.
Go to the north wall and pull out the moveable
block that is to the immediate right of the stereo in the corner. Enter the
opening and turn to the right. Pull back another moveable block. Go north and
get into a crawl space. Follow the crawl space to the right and see a key. You
may have to crouch to pick up the Loft Key from
the floor. Follow the crawl space and continue to the west and into a
stone-lined crawl space. As you crawl you will hear a strange laugh. Stand up
at the end and you are behind the fireplace in the living room. Climb the south
wall and back flip onto a ledge. Go east through another crawl space and enter
a small room. Use the key to open the door. Enter the loft (attic) and go to
the north wall. Push a moveable block to the east. Pick up the House Key that was beneath the block. Go to the hole
in the floor and safety drop into the living room.
Go east into the hallway. There is a dining room to
the south but I found nothing there. Go east and use the key to open the door.
You get a flyby of the huge outside area. Exit the house and go south-east onto
a large patio. Go south and follow the path down the hill to the north and see
a climbable wall in the north-west corner. Climb the wall and pull up to a
ledge with a tree. Climb the west wall and pull up into an area near the roof
of the house. Go to the side of the house and pull up onto the roof. Lara gives
a speech about bees. Shoot the giant bee on the
roof before it pushes you off.
To the south is a hole in the roof. Go to the
north-west corner and crawl west through the crawl space. Below you is the loft
you visited earlier. Grab the edge and shimmy to the right. Pull up into
another crawl space. Follow the crawl space to a pit. Climb the wall in the
south-east corner. Pull up into a balcony with a tree. Go north and pick up golden ball #1 off the ground. Go east and shoot a giant bee on the chimney. Jump back onto the roof. Go
to the south wall and slide backwards down the roof. Grab the edge, pull up,
back flip, roll, and grab a ledge to the east. Pull up onto the ledge. Run and
jump to the opening to the south-east. Shoot a giant
bee. You are standing in front of a long bridge.
Go north across the bridge. Go west up the slope
and notice a water pool over the north railings. Go up the step and pull down
the jump switch to open the door. Enter the room and go north to shoot a giant bee. Get into the crawl space in the west wall.
Follow the crawl space to the end and climb down a ladder. You are in a small room. Go south-east and
crawl behind the plant to get into the corner. Pick up the crowbar (looks like a sword) and crawl back out. The
water hole leads to the water pool you saw from the railings. I found nothing.
I guess it is a route back in case you fall into the water.
Climb the ladder and go back through the crawl
space. Now for a small side trip. Go out the door and down the hill. Cross over
the long bridge again. Jump over to the east balcony. Go to the south-east
corner behind the house and use the crowbar to pry open the door. Enter the
alcove and pick up the laser sight. Return to
the balcony and jump into the water below. The water is deep enough so you can
survive the fall.
Swim north and pull up into the north-west ledge.
Climb the north ledge and run and jump to the east onto the platform in the
water. Follow the platform to the east and south and the camera view changes.
When the camera view returns to normal, look to the left. Stand jump onto the path behind the railings
at the east wall. Follow the path south and pick up a revolver.
Follow the path back to the platform in the water. There is an underwater hole on
the north side of the platform. That is an exit. Dive off the south side and
swim south. Wade to the west shoreline and stand jump to get onto dry ground.
Go west and south up the ramp towards the house.
Stop at the south wall near a red bush. Run and
jump east onto a ledge. Jump the next two ledges to the east and pick up revolver ammo. Run and jump back to the first ledge.
Pull up onto the south wall. You are under the long bridge. Monkey swing under
the long bridge to the north and grab a crawl space. Crawl to the other side
and drop into a room. Go to the top of the slope at the west wall. Save the
game for a difficult trip down the slopes. As you slide down the camera angle
changes. You have to make two jumps over pits and there are rocks rolling down
behind you. At the end you face a bridge with many swinging lanterns on chains.
Get past the first lantern and jump to the ladder
on the south wall. Climb down to the bottom of the pit. Turn around and go to
the north wall. Pick up the secret glasses for secret #2. Climb the ladder and back flip onto the
bridge. Go east and jump over the gap in the bridge. Continue east and enter a
small room. Hop onto the platform and pick up the Maria
picture. Climb the ladder at the south wall. After a long climb, shimmy
to the left and drop onto a slope. Jump forward and grab a crawl space. Crawl
west and get a flyby of the water pool. You can see a bee and three wraiths start to attack. Drop to the ground and
run west to jump into the water to extinguish the wraiths. Pull up to the west
shoreline and shoot the giant bee.
Go to the north-west corner and climb the walls
again and pull up onto the roof again. Go south and slide down the roof again.
Pull up, back flip, and roll to grab the ledge. Pull up and run and jump into
the south-east alcove. Cross the bridge again and go up the hill and through
the open doors again. Go north and past the crawl space. You find an opening in
the east wall. Run and jump from the ledge to land on the top of a column. Run
and jump to a lower east wall opening. Go east and past the horse statue. Go
through and opening and drop onto a ledge. Go north behind the tree and enter a
tunnel in the west wall.
Follow the tunnel and pull up onto a ledge. Go east
and pull up onto the north ledge. If you pull up onto the east ledge, you slide
down into the water pool. Go west into an opening. Drop into the opening and three wraiths attack. Hop down the blocks to the west
and wade into the water to extinguish the wraiths. Get out of the water and go west
to a wall. Pull up at the lowest middle section of the wall. Pull up onto a
higher west wall. Then get into a crawl space. On the other side, run down some
slopes and shoot a giant bee. Go south-west and
follow the ramp to the top. Stand jump to grab the north crevice. Shimmy around
the two corners to the other side. Pull up and jump to the tunnel in the north
wall. Follow the tunnel and slide down a slope. You get a flyby of a cave and
you see a high jump switch.
Go south-east and shoot a horseman.
Go the middle of the east wall and you should find a small
medipack on the floor. Go to the north-west corner and hop onto the
corner block. Run and jump south to grab a column and pull up. Stand jump east
onto another column. Run and jump east to grab a crevice on a column. Shimmy to
the right around the corner and drop onto a ledge. Stand jump to the south-west
to grab a crevice. Shimmy to the left against the wall and then pull up into
the alcove. Run and jump to the east to grab a column. Pull up and stand jump
to the north to land on a column. Run and jump to the north column. Slide down
and jump forward to pull down the jump switch. You hear a trap door open. Lara
makes a comment about jump switches that I generally agree with. Go west and
look to the north behind a tree to see the open trap door.
Save the game before you drop into the hole. You
land in water and it is difficult to get into the side tunnel. Swim north into
a flooded room. Swim into the crawl space in the upper east wall. Swim through
a triangular opening in the upper south wall corner. Then you can surface for
air. Swim to the lower south-west corner. Follow the tunnel and pick up bronze coins. Swim back and surface for air. Go east
and run up the ramp. Notice a different textured tile in front of the right
column. Pull out the gold vase from the north-east corner and place it on that
tile. You get a short cut scene of the room showing two pedestals.
Enter the room and shoot a horseman.
Pull out the obvious moveable block #1 from the north wall and push it to one
side. Enter the tunnel and loop around to the right to get behind moveable bock
#2. Push it to the west as far as possible. Go to the north-east corner and
pull back moveable block #3 from the north wall. Pull the block to the west and
reveal another tunnel. Enter the tunnel and push moveable block #4 to the west
as far as possible. Go to the right of the block and climb the wall ladder. At
the top, shimmy left into a tunnel.
Go south and run and jump onto a ledge over the
room with the two pedestals. Run and jump south to grab a ledge. Pull up and go
east to run and jump to grab a ledge. Go north and run and jump to land on a
ledge. Go to the north side of the ledge. Look to the north-west and you can
see a tunnel in the dark north wall. Stand jump into that tunnel. Hop backwards
up the tunnel so that you can run out as a rock rolls down behind you. Jump
with a curve to land away from the rock. You may need full health before you do
this. You will lose about half health in the drop. Go back through the tunnel
and jump the ledges again to get into the tunnel again. Go up the tunnel and
pick up the gold coins. Return and safety drop
to the floor.
Stand at the south-east side of the bronze
pedestal. Face north-west and place the bronze coins. Stand at the south-east
side of the gold pedestal. Face north-west and place the gold coins. You hear a
trap door open. Go to the south-east corner and drop into the open trap door.
You fall into an underwater tunnel. Swim east towards a picture. Continue to
swim east and then south-east and see a tunnel with a green slope. Swim there
and over the slope. Pick up golden ball #2 from
the floor at the end of the tunnel. Then swim back for air. Swim south and go
to the right. Just follow the tunnels and rooms to reach an underwater
door. Pull open the underwater door and
continue swimming. You pull up in the water pool.
Swim west and pull up onto a ledge. Climb the north
block and jump down to the lower platform in the water again. Go east and climb
onto the north ledge with the tree. Run and jump to the west to land on the
ledge. Place the two golden balls and the door opens. Enter the room and shoot
a horseman. Go to the north-east corner and
shoot the north wall. The north wall shatters. You see a tunnel and a high
receptacle that you cannot reach. Exit back to the room.
Go to the north-west corner and shoot the north
wall. The wall shatters so enter the tunnel. Follow the tunnel and climb the
ladder on the north wall to back flip into an alcove. Save the game for a timed
run. Grab the edge and drop down to pull down a timed jump switch. Roll at the
bottom of the drop. Lara seems to recover faster that after a simple drop where
she stands up afterwards. Exit the room and sprint to the north-east corner.
Enter the tunnel and hop onto the raised timed block and place the Maria
picture in the receptacle. You hear a door open. Return to the first tunnel.
Climb the ladder and back flip into the alcove again. Enter the open door and
pick up the hippopotamus.
Safety drop to the floor and exit the room. Stand
on the south side of the golden hand pedestal and place the hippopotamus. A
large hippopotamus appears in the room. There is a final cut scene and
dialogue. The dialogue was difficult to make out. I think that the hippopotamus
states that Lara has to feed it, clean it, and generally take care of it. Then
it gives the strange laugh. To which Lara gives a loud "No" scream.
Then the level ends.
