Level 1: Hell Keepers Ruins

 

You start with a far camera view showing you against a wall. Go west and pick up a small medipack. You can see closed doors in the west wall. Go to the south-east corner and pick up a small medipack. Go north and enter a wide tunnel. Go to the north-east and stand jump into the diagonal space in the east wall. You have to crawl through to get to the other side. Run up the south slope to the top. Go to the east wall and pick up revolver ammo. Go west and you are on a ledge above the area that you just left. Go west and run and jump onto a bridge. Pick up red shotgun shells.

 

Run and jump onto the west balcony with the blocks. Go north-east and pick up revolver ammo. Go south and past two closed doors. Hop onto a block at the second door and pick up revolver ammo. Continue south and safety drop into a hole at the south wall. Go to the south-west corner for Uzi ammo. Dive into the water and swim into the south-west corner tunnel. Swim into a large cave. Swim into the tunnel in the middle of the west wall. Swim up a vertical shaft and pull up into a room. Pull down the jump switch on the south wall. You get a cut scene of another jump switch. Go into an east wall alcove and pick up red shotgun shells.

 

Swim back through the tunnel into the large cave. You cannot pull up into the opening that you see to the east. Swim north back to the hole where you dived into the water. Climb the blocks and you are back on the balcony with the blocks. Go east to jump back to the bridge. Run and jump to the east to grab a ledge. Pull up and go east to pick up a small medipack. Then enter the open door in the south wall. Follow the cave to a hole in the floor. Safety drop to the room below. Drop at a corner and do not get into the water.

 

Enter the east wall alcove and pull down a first jump switch. Enter the south wall alcove and pick up a shotgun. Enter the west wall alcove and pull down a second jump switch. Now enter the water and notice what happens when you try to surface. Swim to the west and upwards near the ceiling against the left wall. You should swim over secret #1 and pick up revolver ammo. Continue swimming to the west and down. Swim north back to the hole where you dived into the water. Climb the blocks and you are back on the balcony with the blocks. Safety drop to the ground.

 

Enter the open door in the west wall. Follow the corridor to the west. Go to the end and face a deadly pit. There are opens doors on the other side. Jump into a north wall alcove for red shotgun shells. Jump into the north-east alcove and pull down the jump switch. You get a long flyby of a tall room with many doors and fires. Some blocks have risen in the deadly pit. Jump west onto the blocks. Run and jump west to pull up through the open doors. You enter the tall room from the cut scene.

 

Safety drop to the ground. Go north and pick up revolver ammo. Notice a closed door in the west wall. Go south and pick up a small medipack behind the columns. Use a reach-in switch in the south wall. You get a far away camera view and you can see the corner of an opening door in the lower left corner of the screen. There is a closed door in the east wall. Go west and climb the wall ladder. Ignore the small corner ledge and continue climbing up. Pull up onto a ledge and go south and east to the open door from the far camera view.

 

Follow the tunnel and then climb the west wall. Pull up into a tunnel and go north. You overlook the room you left. Drop onto the ledge and go east to the unlit brazier. Jump onto the first column and then jump to the north-east ledge. Pick up revolver ammo. Go north and jump into the two alcoves at the north wall and pick up two red shotgun shells. Return back to the first column and jump to the west. On the third column, run and jump to the south-west ledge. Go south for secret #2 and a small medipack. Jump back to the third column. Stand jump to the ledge with the pedestal and the camera view changes. Pick up red shotgun shells. There is a closed door to the west. Run and jump to grab the north ledge and pull up.

 

Use the reach-in switch and get a cut scene of the corner of the room with the deadly pit. I found the easiest way to get down was to safety drop onto the ledge below. Run and jump to the north-east ledge. Shimmy around the fire. Run and jump to grab the wall ladder on the east wall. Pull up and pick up revolver ammo from the north alcove. Go east and pick up red shotgun shells. Go east and climb a pole. Back flip onto the balcony with the blocks. Pull down the jump switch that has appeared on the west wall to the left of the open door. Go south and enter the second open door.

 

Safety drop to a ledge. Go west and pick up revolver ammo. Continue west and see a hole. Climb down a very long ladder. Look to the north-west and see a door open. Go through the open door and you are back onto the ground. Go north-west and enter the open door in the west wall. Follow the tunnel to a large room with a sand pit. Turn to the north and shoot two snakes. Go west and get revolver ammo off a ledge. Go to the north-east corner for revolver ammo. Go west and pick up a shotgun. Pull up into the tunnel in the west wall.

 

Go west and save the game before you drop into the room. Go west and the wall closes behind you. Shoot two giant spiders. Be careful of the fires as you jump around. If they corner you, you are dead. Pick up the two Hellís Gems from the floor. Place one gem in the east wall receptacle. Two block rise in the west wall corners. Pull up into the north-west corner ledge and pick up revolver ammo. Shimmy to the left under the blue block. Pull up into an alcove. Grab the ceiling and monkey swing to the south. Drop and release to grab the edge of the east wall tunnel. Pull up and follow the tunnel.

 

Save before you enter the room. Enter the room and shoot two giant bats. Afterwards watch out for holes in the floor and search the floor for a small medipack to the south, revolver ammo at the east wall, and red shotgun shells at the north wall. Go to the north-east corner and place the second gem in the receptacle. Turn around and follow the tunnel in the east wall. You emerge onto a ledge and see many swinging spike bags. Turn around and climb down the wall ladder to the bottom of the pit. Pick up a small medipack in the north corner. Go to the center of the pit. You get secret #3 and red shotgun shells. Go to the north-east and find red shotgun shells. Go into the south-east corner and find a small medipack. Climb back out of the pit.

 

Get past the spike bags. I found using stand jumps to be the best method. On the last ledge, stand jump into the tunnel in the west wall. Enter the room and pull down the chain. Exit the room and jump back to the ledge. Either go through the spike bags again or safety drop into the pit and climb the ladder to the entrance tunnel. Go west to the room with the holes in the floor. Safety drop into a middle hole since the floor is highest in the middle of the room below. Go south-east and follow the east tunnel to exit the room. Go south and climb the west wall ladder to the top. Pull up onto a ledge again.

 

Follow the south wall tunnel again. Climb the ladder and go north to overlook the room again. Follow the columns to get onto the ledge with the pedestal again. Safety drop on the north side. Then safety drop onto a lower ledge. Pick up a large medipack near a fire. Hop into the lower west wall opening and pull down a chain. Exit and pull up into the higher west wall opening. Follow the tunnel to the room with holes in the floor. Go south into a newly opened door. Follow the tunnel to a slope. Slide down and get a long flyby of many rooms and an outdoor area before it ends at Lara.

 

Pick up the revolver ammo to the left of your feet. There are three tunnels in the east and west walls. Enter the east right tunnel and shoot the boxes. Pick up the revolver and red shotgun shells. Exit back to the starting slope area. Enter the east middle tunnel and pull down the chain. Exit back to the starting slope area. Go south into a corridor and then go into the south-west corner tunnel. Follow the tunnel to a room and pull down a chain. You get a cut scene of that corner area. Exit the tunnel and go north to pick up Uzi ammo. Go east and shoot a snake. Go north to the starting slope area.

 

Enter the west left tunnel and follow the tunnel to a room. Turn to the left and pick up a small medipack. Follow the south tunnel and crawl under a partially open door. Go to the end and pull down a jump switch. You get a cut scene showing a water pool. Return to the partially open door and go east back into a room where you have been before. Exit back to the starting slope area.

 

Enter the east left tunnel and climb the wall ladder. Back flip onto an upper ledge. Go north for red shotgun shells. Go south and run and jump to grab the south wall. Pull up and enter the south tunnel. Go west for Uzi ammo and red shotgun shells. Follow the tunnel south to the room with the water from the cut scene. There is a large medipack beside the middle left side throne. Be careful of the fire and crouch down at an angle and you can pick it up. Go south and see a post. Dive into the water and swim to the south. Pick up red shotgun shells and continue swimming. Go south and then west for red shotgun shells and pull open an underwater door. Swim inside the underwater tunnel and surface at the end. Pull up and pick up a revolver. Notice the items behind the cage as you run down the north tunnel. I did not find a way to get them. At a T-junction go north and pick up revolver ammo. Go south and jump over the hole in the floor and get into the next tunnel. Pick up revolver ammo and return to drop into the hole.

 

Pick up red shotgun shells from the floor. You are in a room with two light spirals. The light spirals are fire traps. Go to the south-east corner and pull down the chain. You get a cut scene of a room with a chest. Hop into the open door in the north wall. Follow the tunnel north and exit back into the corridor where you have been earlier. Go east to pick up Uzi ammo. Go to the south-east corner and climb up the wall ladder in the corner. Go south into the next room and shoot the chest. Pick up the Broken Amulet from the floor. Exit back to the starting slope area.

 

Enter the west middle tunnel and climb the wall ladder. Back flip onto an upper ledge. Go north and find a large medipack. Go south and run and jump to grab the south wall. Pull up and enter the south tunnel. Go west for Uzi ammo. Then follow the tunnel in the south wall. Enter the open door and follow the tunnel to a wall ladder. Climb the ladder and pull up into an open area from an earlier flyby. Go south and pick up an Uzi. Go west and shoot two giant bats. Go up the hill and pick up red shotgun shells. Note that you will be back here later.

 

Slide down the hill and pick up red shotgun shells at the west wall. Go north into a small room. Pick up a large medipack and revolver ammo. Pull down the chain in the corner. The door opens behind you. Go east into the tunnel to the end. Go north and shoot a snake. Go east in another tunnel and get a cut scene of the starting slope area. Climb down a long wall ladder and shoot a snake. Go east and climb up a wall ladder. You are back at the starting slope area.

 

Go south into the corridor and climb down the wall ladder in the second south-east hole. Go south into a room and shoot the chest. Pick up the Broken Thing from the floor. Go north to exit the room and climb up the ladder. Go back to the starting slope area. Enter the east left tunnel and climb the wall ladder again. Back flip onto an upper ledge. Go south and run and jump to grab the south wall. Pull up and enter the south tunnel again. Follow the tunnel south to the room with the water from the cut scene. Make the Flare Amulet and place it on the post. You get a cut scene of double doors opening. Exit back to the starting slope area.

 

Enter the west middle tunnel and climb the wall ladder. Back flip onto an upper ledge. Go south and run and jump to grab the south wall again. Pull up and enter the south tunnel. Enter the open door and follow the tunnel to a wall ladder again. Climb the ladder and pull up into an open area form an earlier flyby. Go up to the top of the hill again. Go north and pull up onto a block to reach the higher ledge. Pick up the shotgun and run around the ledge to the south-east corner and pick up a small medipack. Run and jump onto the platform behind the fence. Shoot two skeletons off the platform. Go east to the open double doors. Go to the end of the tunnel and save the game at the top of the slope.

 

Slide down the slope backwards. Grab the end, pull up, back flip, and roll to grab the edge of a platform. Pick up the Broken Amulet. Shoot the hammer demon. It takes a lot. I used all the small medipacks, shotgun shells and Uzi ammo and then half of the revolver ammo that I collected. I think it helps to jump up when the hammer is about to strike the platform. The author stated to just use the revolver. When the demon dies, it leaves behind the Broken Thing. Make the Flare Amulet and place it on the post. A pole appears to the south. Run and jump to grab the pole. Climb up so that your head is at a pole section. Twist around and back flip into the south wall tunnel. Follow the tunnel and slide down a slope and the level changes.

 

Level 2: The City Above Hell

 

You slide down the slope and land in a small room. Run forward and pick up a large medipack and revolver ammo. Carefully pick up the revolver by the fire. Shoot the barricade and slide down the slope into the next room. Go south and pick up flares and a large medipack. There is a receptacle on the south wall. Then return to the bottom of the entrance slope. There are eight holes in the floor. Number the holes clockwise from #1 to #8. The hole to the west is #1. The hole to the east is #8. The holes have ladders to climb down and climb back up again. The holes contain many items.

 

West side hole #1 red shotgun shells

West side hole #2 small medipack

West side hole #3 red shotgun shells and a tunnel to a hole

West side hole #4 red shotgun shells

East side hole #5 Uzi ammo

East side hole #6 revolver ammo

East side hole #7 small medipack and revolver ammo

East side hole #8 red shotgun shells, Uzi ammo and a tunnel to a hole

 

Pick up all the items and return to the entrance slope. Ignore the tunnels for now. Stand jump onto the ledge behind the middle west column. Climb the wall ladder on the column. Pick up red shotgun shells and jump east to the next column and pick up revolver ammo. Jump onto the side ledge and go to the south-west corner for red shotgun shells. Now enter the wide south corridor. Go south and shoot two bats. Stay near the left wall and find red shotgun shells. Go to the small tunnel at the end and open the door.

 

Enter the corridor and go south to open another door. Enter the room and pick up revolver ammo and an Uzi. Exit and go east and open a second south wall door. Enter the room and pick up revolver ammo, red shotgun shells, and two small medipacks. Exit the room and evade a Lara zombie. Go east into another corridor. Go north to open a door. Enter the room and pick a small medipack, red shotgun shells, and revolver ammo for secret #4. Exit the room and go south and open another door. Save the game and go east in into a toilet. Pick up red shotgun shells and shoot an ahmet. Get into a crawl space in the lower south-east corner of the room. Unless you killed the ahmet in front of the opening. Then you have to reload and kill it again away from the opening.

 

Crawl through and stand up at the end and pull up into a small room. Pick up red shotgun shells from the corner and hop into a north wall tunnel. Follow the tunnel and shoot an ahmet. Follow the tunnel to the end and drop onto a ledge. Go east and pick up revolver ammo. Look north and see a room with swinging lanterns over small ledges. The floor is deadly. Jump to the north ledge. Then run and jump north-west to land on a ledge. Stay near the wall and jump to a north corner ledge. Run and jump to the east to grab a ledge. Shimmy to the left wall before you pull up. Stand jump north to a corner ledge. Stay near the wall and stand jump to a west ledge. Finally stand jump west onto a safe ledge.

 

Enter the tunnel and pick up revolver ammo. Go north to use the floor lever. The gate opens in the west wall. Go onto the bridge and cross the bridge to shoot an ahmet. Enter a tunnel and follow the tunnel to the second bridge. Cross the second bridge and pick up red shotgun shells. Enter the tunnel and slide down a slope. You get a long flyby of the room. Search the south platform for a small medipack and revolver ammo. Search the north platform for red shotgun shells. Then pick up the Keepers Cross in the water at the east wall. Stand back from the cross at the west edge of the floor tile. Lara picks up the cross as if it was on a pedestal. You get a far camera view and see some red wings.

 

Go south and pick up red shotgun shells. Climb the wall ladder on the back of the south-east column. Shoot the winged mummy and pick up a large medipack that it drops. It takes a lot of revolver ammo to kill it. Go around the upper ledge for revolver ammo and red shotgun shells. Safety drop back to the floor. Use the two floor levers that have appeared in the south-west and north-west corners of the room. With each floor lever you get a cut scene of the upper ledge. Climb the south-east column again and get onto the upper ledges. Go to the north-west corner and hop into the tunnel. Hop down the blocks and you are back in the starting room.

 

Slide down the south slope again. Go south and place the Keepers Cross in the receptacle. You get a camera view from far away showing a white gremlin walking up behind you. Turn around and shoot the white gremlin. Go back to the entrance slope. Drop into the east hole #8. Follow the tunnel and drop into a hole and into a room. Shoot a white gremlin and pick up red shotgun shells. Ignore the crawl space in the corner and climb back up to the starting entrance slope.

 

Now drop into the west hole #3. Go west and drop into other hole and continue to a dark room with pipes. Pick up revolver ammo near a fence. Pick up red shotgun shells in a south wall alcove. Pull up onto a block beside it and get into a crawl space. Go through and drop into another dark room. Go south-east and pick up red shotgun shells for secret #5. Then go east into a wide corridor and pick up a small medipack and a large medipack. Follow the wide corridor to the end. Pick up a small medipack and pull up into a crawl space.

 

Go forward and ignore the right branch tunnel that leads back to the room from hole #8. Continue to the east. Go around a corner and continue to drop into a dark room. Go south and pick up a small medipack. Enter the open gate in the east wall. Pick up red shotgun shells and evade a Lara mummy. Shoot the barricades and a white gremlin. Follow the corridor to pick up red shotgun shells and drop into a hole. You land in water. Pull up onto the south ledge. Go south and get through the teeth doors. Shoot a white gremlin and pick up a large medipack and red shotgun shells from the floor.

 

Go through the north teeth doors. Go east into a room and shoot a white gremlin. Pick up red shotgun shells and revolver ammo. Use the floor lever and get a cut scene of double doors opening. Return to the earlier room and get through the teeth doors. The teeth doors may be closed but you can walk through them. Go through the east teeth doors. Pick up revolver ammo and get through more teeth doors. Shoot a white gremlin and get through more teeth doors. Continue through the open double doors of the cut scene.

 

Enter the room and pick up revolver ammo off the floor. Pick up red shotgun shells from the top of a coffin. Jump up to grab an upper west wall hole in the ceiling. Pull up and hop onto a coffin to shoot an ahmet. Search the room for revolver ammo and two red shotgun shells. Jump up to grab an upper west wall hole in the ceiling. Pull up and run west between the coffins as the camera view changes. At the end, slide down into a big tunnel. Follow the tunnel as the camera view changes. Shoot a centaur mummy and pick up the Keepers Cross that it drops. It is hard to kill. Place the Keepers Cross in the receptacle on the south wall. A gate opens behind you in the north wall.

 

Enter the gate and follow the tunnel to shoot or evade two ahmets. Follow the tunnel to the end and jump into an upper north wall tunnel. Dive into the water and swim north. Pull up into a small room to shoot or ignore two white gremlins. Hop into the tunnel in the upper north wall. Follow the tunnel and the level changes.

 

Level 1: Hell Keepers Ruins Again

 

Run forward and the door opens as you approach. You enter a room that you have visited before. Turn to the right and climb the west wall ladder to the top. Follow the ledge to the right and hop into the south wall tunnel again. Climb the ladder and go north to overlook the room again. Use the ledge and columns to get onto the ledge with the pedestal again. This time the door is open in the west wall. Follow the tunnel to the end and save before you enter the room.

 

Run in and pick up Hell's Gem off the floor. Run north and hop into a west wall tunnel to stop the moving spike wall. Then hop down and use the reach-in switch on the east wall. Hop back into the west wall tunnel. Follow the tunnel and hear Lara's ending theme music. Run up the ramp towards the light and the level ends.
