Stone of Perseus 2

[Note] This level is very dark. You have no flares or weapons. You start with only one small medipack. This level is very difficult and it gives you more frustration than fun. Save the game often, use the binoculars for light, and conserve as much health as possible. [End note]
You start with a long cut scene of Lara waking up on a floor. Eventually she shoots a Shiva and runs out of bullets. Then the level starts.
Tomb of the Temple Guardians
You start by avoiding a Shiva. Run around the enclosed area and pick up the blue Andromedas Eye and the red Cassiopeias Eye from the floor. Two gates open in the east and west walls. Lure the Shiva near the east doorway and sprint out the west doorway and pull down a wall switch under the wall torch on the west wall. This closes the west gate. Run north, east, and south around the outside of the cage and pull down a similar wall switch on the east wall. This closes the east gate. With luck the Shiva will be locked in the cage. Although, on one play, the Shiva just vanished. I think it may have been stuck in a closed gate.
Now go around the outside of the cage to middle area of the north wall. Face south and see a wheel on the column of the cage. Turn the wheel to raise a platform above the west wall torch. Go to the south wall and turn a similar wheel to raise a platform above the east wall switch. You actually only need to use one of the platforms. Go to the east wall torch area and pull up onto a block. Pull up onto the platform. Pull up onto the higher east ledge. A knight starts to move in the east wall alcove. Then the knight just collapses. There are a few other collapsing knights on the ledge. Go north and see a circular door. Stand on a platform and jump south to grab a higher climbable wall. Climb up and onto some beams above the cage area.
Turn the two wheels on the central column. Go west and run and jump off the west side of the beam. You land on a platform at the west wall. Use the wall switch and get a cut scene of a platform rising. Safety drop to the lower ledge. Go to the open gate in the south wall. Pick up the Dark Gem from the pedestal and immediately hop back to avoid the spikes. Turn to the north and run over the small slopes on the ledge. Quickly run away to avoid three falling spike balls. Then return to the slopes and run and jump with no grab to land on the raised platform to the north. Go forward and place the Dark Gem in the receptacle. An earthquake occurs and bats fly around to steal your health.
Go back to raised platform. Run off the edge and drop onto a lower column. Safety drop to the floor. Go to the east wall and climb the block again. Pull up onto the platform and pull up onto the east ledge again. Go north and see that the circular door is open to reveal a tunnel. Enter the tunnel and just follow it to the end. You get a long flyby of the large cavernous room with a pool at the bottom. Go forward to the edge of the water. Dive into the water and pull down the two underwater levers in the south and north sides of the small channel. Now swim east across the pool toward the large statue. Pull down the two underwater levers in the north-east and south-east water channels. On the last lever, you get a cut scene of a door opening. Swim to the west and pull up onto any ledge.
Go north and tightrope walk across the pool to the east ledge with the open door. Enter the open door and go down the corridor. Climb the wall ladder on the north wall. Pull up onto a higher balcony. Go to the north wall and turn the wheel. Quickly side jump out of the way of spikes that come out of the block behind your back. Climb back down the ladder and go east down the corridor to another open door. Run over the breakable tiles. At the third tile from the end, jump to grab the climbable wall to the east. The last two tiles break before you reach them. Pull up into a dark corridor. Follow the corridor to an opening overlooking the pool. Run and jump to a west ledge ahead of you.
Jump to grab the climbable bricks texture on the north wall. Climb up near the top and back flip onto a ledge near the face of the statue. Run and jump south onto another ledge. You could climb down the ladder and back flip onto a lower ledge. Or you can just safety drop onto the lower ledge with no loss of health. Go east and run and jump into the east wall tunnel. Follow the tunnel to a very dark room. Use binoculars and see some sections on the floor are different and look darker. Avoid those darker sections, as crossing those sections release health stealing bats. Get into the doorway in the west wall. This is very slow and painful as you have to use the binoculars for light all the time.
Go to the edge and run and jump to grab the horizontal pole. Spin and release to land in the west wall tunnel. Follow the tunnel to an upper opening. Stand at the east wall and run and jump at an angle towards the middle of the opening. You should jump forward to grab a horizontal pole. Spin, release, and go forward to grab another horizontal pole. Spin and release and go forward to land a crawl space in the north wall. I landed in the crawl space in the crawl position. I did not seem to grab the edge. But you need all the lucky chances that you can get with this game. The double pole spins are always difficult.
Crawl to the end and stand up on the bright tile at the crawl space exit. You can see several darker tiles that are breakable tiles over spike traps. The tiles break instantly so that you cannot run over them. The brighter tiles are the safe tiles. Run and jump north over two tiles to a safe tile. Stand jump to the north-east and land on a safe tile by the north wall. Stand jump to the south-east onto another safe tile. Run and jump to the safe tile at the crawl space in the south-east corner. Go through the crawl space and stand up on a ledge over the pool.
Run and jump south to grab a rope. Swing south and release to drop onto a south wall ledge. Follow the south wall tunnel to a small room. Pick up the Stone of the Doomed from the sitting mummy and the mummy stands up. Turn around and avoid the three mummies as you run out the tunnel to the ledge. Run and jump off the ledge and drop into the water below. Swim east to the base of the statue. Swim down the open trap doors in the floor. Follow the underwater tunnel to a small pool. Pull up on the south side. Slide down a slope and fall into the water far below you.
Now is a very tight double timed run. Swim into a tunnel in the middle south wall. Swim to the end of the room and pull down the underwater lever on the wall. Roll and swim north and across the pool into a timed gate in the north wall. Swim into the room and pull down the underwater lever on the north wall. Swim out of the room and swim left and down into a timed trap door at the bottom of the pool at the north wall. You cannot stop for air and there is a snake that follows you and slows you down. Inside the trap door, swim south and into the lower tunnel. Swim to the end and surface for air. Now swim back and swim into the upper tunnel. Swim to the end and pull down the underwater lever. You get a cut scene of the trap door opening and a large underwater gate opening.
Swim out the open trap door and into the pool to surface for air. Swim down and into the open gate in the west wall. Swim down into the hole in the floor. Swim north, up, and then south to the middle of the tunnel. Swim up and follow the tunnel to pick up the Dark Gem off the pedestal. You get a cut scene of trap doors opening in the bottom of the pool. Swim back into the pool. Swim east and down into the open trap doors. Swim to the end of the underwater tunnel and pull up into a high room.
Go to the east wall and turn the wheel. Avoid the two snakes and run into the north-west corner. Jump up to grab a west wall crevice. Shimmy to the left to the far end. Pull up, back flip, and roll to grab a horizontal pole. Spin and release forward to land on a slope. Slide down and grab the edge. Shimmy to the left and around many corners. Shimmy to the left as far as possible to the upper left side of a sloped block. Pull up and back flip with a roll and a left curve to land on a slope behind you. Slide down and grab the edge. Shimmy to the right around two corners to pull up into a crawl space and save the game. Face south and crawl out the north side onto a climbable wall. Back flip and roll to grab a climbable wall to the north. Climb to the top and pull up, back flip, and roll to grab a climbable wall to the south above the crawl space. Climb up and shimmy to the right around the corner. Back flip and roll to grab a ledge. Pull up into the alcove in the west wall.
Grab the dark crevice in the north wall. Shimmy to the right around two corners and drop onto a ledge. Go west into a small room. You see three floor levers on platforms with fire emitters. The floor levers are disguised as swords in the skeletons. When Lara steps on the middle platform, she looks up at the spike ball on the upper east wall. Stand jump to the spike ball. It is a cleverly disguised jump switch. The fire emitters at the floor levers are stopped. Use the three floor levers. After the third floor lever, there is an earthquake. Jump around the spike ball to exit the room and see that the room below is flooded. Swim across the room and pull up onto the east ledge. Be careful of the two snakes that are still in the flooded room.
Go east and run and jump onto a ledge around a large central column. Go south and run and jump to grab the hanging rope. Swing and release to land in the opening in the south wall. Go forward to a T-junction. Go east and follow the corridor to find a ramp up the side of the central structure. Be careful of four spike balls as you go up the ramp. You can hop back to grab the edge as the spike ball rolls past you. Continue carefully to the top of the structure. Pick up a large medipack from the pedestal. This is the only medipack that you get in this game. Go down the ramp and jump around the spike ball to get back to the entrance. Run and jump to grab the ledge to the north. Pull up and run and jump back onto the upper central ledge again.
Go to the north side and see a rope. Ignore it for now. Back flip onto a lower north slope. Slide down and jump forward to grab the lower central ledge. Turn the wheel and get a cut scene of a gate opening and an item on a pedestal. You have a choice of routes to get back onto the upper central ledge.
Choice 1: Carefully dive into the water below. You can pull up onto the ledge in the north-east corner. Climb up the ledges onto the north flat ledge. Turn around and run and jump onto a slope. Jump forward to grab a rope. You may need a curve to get the right rope alignment. Swing to the south and release to grab a climbable wall. Climb to the top and shimmy to the right around the corner. Back flip and roll to grab another climbable wall. Climb near the top and back flip onto a slope. Jump forward to grab the ledge near the south rope. Run and jump back onto the upper central ledge.
Choice 2: Go to the north-west corner. Stand jump to the south-west to grab the upper ledge extension. Pull up onto the upper central ledge. This is the easier choice.
Go to the north side and run and jump to the rope. Swing and release to get into the north wall opening. Go north and spike balls start to roll in a pit. Jump into the pit and you can run and jump into the north wall opening when the spike ball rolls away. You enter the room with the item on a pedestal on a raised platform. First go to the east wall. Back flip off the south slope and jump forward to the north slope. Pull up and back flip to get onto a ledge. Run and jump to grab the central ledge and pull up. Turn the wheel and hear a trap door drop open. Safety drop to the floor and get into the open trap door to drop into a pit. Go around the central column and pull down the wall switch. Get out of the pit and see a curtain of water around the platform.
Now hop onto the platform and pick up the Eye Piece from the pedestal. You get a cut scene of a rope and four wraiths start to attack. They are extinguished by the curtain of water. Drop into the pit again and reset the wall switch. Get out of the pit and the curtain of water is gone. Return through the spike ball pit room again. You are on the ledge over the room with the deep pool again.
Run and jump to grab the first slope. Pull up and slide down a little. Jump onto the lower slope and jump forward to grab the lower central ledge. Go to the north-west corner. Stand jump to the south-west to grab the upper ledge extension. Pull up onto the upper central ledge. Go south and run and jump to grab the south rope. Turn around to face the new rope to the north-west. Get near the middle of the rope and use a short swing to release and grab the new rope. Turn around and swing to jump onto the higher ledge to the north.
Go to the north ledge and run and jump onto the ledge at the north wall. Walk the tightrope to get to the east ledge. Start the dismount jump well back from the ledge or you will jump over the ledge and drop to die on the ledges far below. Stand jump to a south ledge and run and jump to another south ledge. Stand jump to another dark south ledge. Grab the edge and shimmy to the right. Pull up into an alcove. Place the Stone of the Damned in the receptacle. You get a cut scene of doors opening below you. Safety drop to the ledge below you. Go through the open doors and run east. You drop into a hole and start to slide down a slope. Continue sliding down and the level ends.
