[Note] As
per usual with the next generation executables, the compass directions are
wrong from reality. I use the red pointer for directions. The health bar has
been modified to be small and the color changed so that it is basically useless
to determine Lara's health using it. Lara has dyed her hair to blonde and
changed her name to Marion. She must have also lost a lung, as the underwater
breath-holding swimming times are much shorter than usual. There are some new
moves found in the tutorial level. [End note]
Level 0:
Marion's Manor Tutorial
This is a practice level for all the actions and
moves. It consists of a full motive video and text of what to do. This is
followed by you doing the action or movement. This section does not need a
walkthrough.
Level 1:
South America: Path of the Maya
You start by sliding down a slope. You have
apparently being dropped from a helicopter. There is a running timer clock in
the upper right corner of the screen. Run south and go to the right to go east.
Enter a dark room and pick up the pistols on
the floor in the middle of the room. The gate opens in the east wall. Turn
around and go into the south-east corner. Shoot a box and pick up pistol ammo. Now go east and enter the open gate. You
are in a large outdoor area with four pyramid structures.
Shoot the snake that
slithers towards you. The hit points (40) and the enemy name (crocodile) appear
in the lower left corner of the screen. When the hit points are zero, the enemy
dies. From the entrance gate go north to a snakehead receptacle on the west
wall. Pick up a silver rose for secret #1. If you turn the volume up to maximum, you
can hear the secret sound. It sounds like a telephone modem dialing.
Continue north and run up the steps of the
north-east pyramid. At the top, crouch down to avoid wall darts from somewhere.
You can see the blood spots and the screen waves as Lara is poisoned. Crawl and
pick up a green rose for secret #2. Descend from the pyramid to the gate
entrance again. Go north-east and ignore the first water pool. Continue east to
another shallow water pool near the east wall. Search the pool bottom and pick
up pistol ammo.
Get out of the pool and go south. Just follow the
wall. You pass a pool with very loud chirping crickets. Continue to follow the wall to the south and
then west. Near the steps of a pyramid you should find a snakehead receptacle.
Pick up Uzi ammo from the receptacle. Continue
to follow the wall. You should be going north and see a small rectangular pool
to your left. Search that pool fro a small medipack.
You arrive back at the gate entrance. Go south-east to a large pool between the
pyramids. Search that pool for pistol ammo.
Climb the south-east pyramid next to the pool with
the chirping crickets. At the top of the pyramid are a hole and a vertical
shaft. Drop into the hole and land in a large underground lake. Swim to the
east wall and pull up onto a ledge next to a key lock. Shoot a rat (scorpion with 10 hit points). Dive into the water
and swim into the north-east corner. Pick up the old
rusty key off the lake bottom. Swim back to the key lock and use the
key. The door opens at the top of the steps.
Enter the door and run east. You run through a
plant and off a small ledge. You should land in the correct position to pick up
the flares at your feet. You can see a closed
gate in the far distance. Go south and near a column you should shoot two rats. Go to the south wall and go west behind a
column for flares. Go into the south-east
corner of that area and pick up pistol ammo. Go
north back to the column near the dead rats. Climb the east side of the column
and pull up to the top. Grab the ceiling and monkey swing west and drop onto a
column. Hop back and grab the side of the column. Shimmy by an invisible
crevice to the right. Pull up onto a column near the location of the flares.
Grab the ceiling and monkey swing south and then east. Drop onto a pit near the
south wall. Pick up a gold rose for secret #3. Pull up on the wall and slide down to the
floor.
Go north to the start of the three bridges over the
water. Pull down the two wall switches on the north and south walls near the
start of the bridges. Go east over the bridges to the now open door. You enter
a large dark room. Go to the east wall and climb the front of the only column
in the room. Pull up into a higher room and go west to pick up pistol ammo off a platform. Go south-west to pick up
a small medipack off another platform. Then shoot a bat
(bat with 8 hit points).
Go to the north-east corner and climb the rock
texture on the north wall. Keep the UP ARROW pressed and Lara will grab the
monkey swing on the ceiling. Turn around and monkey swing for four hand
movements to the south. That is two left and two right hand movements. Turn
left and go west for four hand movements. Then south for six hand movements,
west for four hand movements, and finally south until you drop onto a ledge at
the end. Shoot the south wall and the wall breaks. Enter the opening and get a
flyby of the next room.
Stand jump south onto a column. Stand jump to the
east to grab a climbable column. Climb up near the top and back flip onto a
floating ledge above the column at the entrance. Run and jump onto a corner
north-west ledge. Go west and follow the short tunnel to a large room. Shoot a snake and notice the wall spikes to the south wall.
Turn to the right as the room widens and pick up Uzi
ammo near the entrance corner. Go to the south wall and pull down the
wall switch. Turn and run north-east through the open gate and onto a ledge.
The moving spike wall goes behind you. Run and jump east to grab a ledge and
pull up. Go to the end and stand jump north to grab a rope. Swing north and
release to land on a platform. Pull up west to a higher platform. Stand jump
west to grab a ledge and pull up to the top.
Run and jump south onto a ledge. Run and jump south
again to grab another ledge. Pull up and find red
shotgun shells. Run and jump west to grab another ledge. Pull up and
jump to a corner ledge. Run over the bridge and pick up an old rusty key. Go back over the bridge and jump east
to the ledge. Now run and jump with no grab to the next east ledge. Now run and
jump with no grab to the next north ledge. Jump to the north wall ledge and go
left down the platforms. You may have to shoot a bat
somewhere during the trip. Drop south onto a lower ledge and shoot another
annoying bat. Ignore the rope and stand jump
west to grab the climbable column. Climb down to the floor.
Go to the dark north-west corner and pick up pistol ammo off the floor. Go to the south wall and
use the key in the key lock. The door opens in the south wall. Save the game
before entering the room. Run to the west wall and pull down a wall switch.
Quickly run to the south wall and enter the open door before the ceiling spikes
reach you. You enter another large dark room. Go south and pick a small waterskin off the middle of the floor. Continue
south and pick up a large waterskin off the
steps. Go into either side water pool and fill the two waterskins. Use the
large waterskin on the left scales and the door in the left corner opens. Use
the small waterskin in the right scales and the door in the right corner opens.
Save the game so that you can reload and try the
both routes. The reviews called the two routes as Heaven and Hell. I assume
this is a translation of the level names. I found nothing to determine which
route is which. Run into the left corner open door and run down the tunnel as
the level changes.
Route 1:
Level 2: I'rar, Underwater Caverns
You start by dropping into a pool of water. Swim
into the north-west corner and pick up a small
medipack off the floor. Swim to the middle of the north wall and pull
down an underwater lever on the wall. Swim east and through an open underwater
door in the lower east wall. Swim up to the south-east corner and surface. Pull
up into a room. Pull down the switch on the south wall. The door opens in the
east wall. Go there and see a water trench. There is an animal behind the bars
on the opposite side.
Dive into the water and swim through the hole in
the floor. Swim to the middle of the north wall and pull down the underwater
lever on the wall. Swim through the open gate in the east wall. Quickly swim up
and surface for air. Swim south over the low gap in the rocks and to the south
wall. You can pick up Uzi ammo off the floor
near the south wall. Swim east to surface for air. Dive down and pull down the
underwater lever on the middle of the north wall. Now swim back to the previous
room to get air. Swim north and then east to pick up the wooden door key off the top of the mound in the
underwater room. Swim back to the previous room.
Save the game and swim down and through the open
underwater door in the east wall. Evade the finned
crocodile and swim above the open door to pull down and underwater lever
on the wall. Swim east and surface to pull up into a small room. Shoot a bat that may be flying about. Go to the north-west corner of the room.
Shoot a box and pick up a silver rose for secret #4. Pull up onto the nearby south block and
pick up pistol ammo. Go into the north-east
corner and pick up pistol ammo. Now go to the
south wall and use the key in the key lock to open the door.
Enter the door and go south to a zip-line. First
climb down the wall in front of you and onto a platform in the lava. Pick up a golden rose for secret #5.
Climb the wall back up to the zip-line. Use the zip-line and land on a far
south platform Pick up a small medipack and two pistol ammo off the floor. Go around the column
into the next room. Shoo the ahmet (40 hit
points). Pick up flares off the floor. Go south
and climb the pole. Back flip into a higher room with a lava floor tile. Jump
over the lava and climb the next pole. Back flip into a higher room and see
three blocks. Push the middle moveable block to the south into a tunnel. Push
the block to the end and climb on top of it.
Pull up into an opening. You face a large lake. Go
forward and drop down onto a platform and pick up flares.
Wait there and shoot a finned crocodile in the
lake. Dive into the water and swim into the north-east corner. Pick up a small medipack off the corner mound. Swim back to the
entrance platform. Swim down to the south-west. Pick up pistol ammo off the top of the mound to the left of the plant.
Swim south-east and into the tunnel in the south wall. Just before the south
wall, swim east and west to pick up two pistol ammo
off the floor. Then pull up onto the south wall. You face a large room with
many fires.
Go south and you can shoot boxes and get nothing.
Go to the west wall and pull out the center moveable block twice. Climb on the
block and pull up to a column to the north. Turn around and run and jump onto a
south ledge. Pick up a green rose for secret #6. Jump back to the column. Stand jump over
the floating platforms to reach the north wall opening. Go north and shoot a dog (20 hit points). Pick up a small medipack in the north-west corner. Go east and jump over the
lava trench. Continue east and dive into the water. Pick up flares and pistol ammo
from the bottom. Pull up on the east ledge.
Go to the east wall and pull up onto the south
block. Stand jump to the north to grab a climbable floating almost invisible
block. Climb up to the top. Run and jump to the west to grab another almost
invisible block. Pull up and jump west to a solid ledge. Stand jump west onto
two almost invisible blocks. Run and jump west to grab a ledge. Pull and step
onto the higher ledge at the west wall. Pull down the switch on the wall. You
get a cut scene of a door opening in another room.
Run and jump east and into the water. Pull up and
go west. Jump over the lava trench. Follow the corridor back to the floating
platforms. Jump the platforms and jump with grab to glide into the open door in
the east wall. Go forward and pick up a large medipack.
Run east in the tunnel and the level changes.
Route 1: Level 3: I'rar Village
You start in the rain in front of a tent. Go west
to the west wall and pick up pistol ammo off a
short block. Go south and get pistol ammo from
the top of a tall block. Go east back to the starting position. Go east to pick
up flares. Go to the south-east corner to pick
up pistol ammo off the ground. Go north and
shoot a dog. Pick up Uzi
ammo off the top of a rock. Go east down a slope into a cave. Stop near
the middle of the slope and look north. You should see flares
on the ground near the north wall. There is nothing to find in the lower cave
with the water. Go south and pull up into a crawl space in the south wall. It is hidden behind a large plant and
covered by a hanging plant. Follow the crawl space to the end. You can do a
forward roll with UP ARROW and ALT to get out of the crawl space.
You are in another outside area in the rain. Go
east and drop into the water pool under the ramp. You should land near pistol ammo. Get out of the water and go south up
some steps. Press the button on the wall. Turn around and shoot two rats. Go up the ramp and through the open
door. Enter the cave and go straight to
pick up flares. Go north into another cave and
shoot a dog. Stop before a slope and notice the
poisonous wall darts. You can step down onto the first step. Crawl under the
wall dart and stand up. Then step down to the next step. Repeat this to avoid
the darts. Or just run down the steps and take a medipack to stop the poison if
a wall dart hits you.
At the bottom of the steps, go into the dark
north-west corner. Pick up the silver rose for secret #7. Go east and pick up Uzi ammo off the middle floor edge in front of the
water pool. Dive into the water and pull out again. Shoot the finned crocodile in the water. In the north-west and
south-east corners of the pool you can pick up two
pistol ammo. Pull down the underwater lever on the middle of the west
wall. Then swim across to the east side and pull up. Go up the steps and shoot
a winged female (40 hit points). Go up the steps
to the open door. Before you enter go the north and south corners to pick up two pistol ammo.
Save the game and enter the room. Go into the dark
north-west corner and pull down the wall switch on the north wall. Turn around
and run south to avoid the moving spike wall. When it is safe, go to the
north-east corner and pick up a green rose for secret #8. Return to the edge of the water pool.
Before you dive in, go the north and south corners to pick up two pistol ammo. Dive into the water and swim into
the tunnel in the east wall. Swim into a flooded room and pick up pistol ammo off the north-east corner floor. Swim
south and pick up Uzi ammo off the floor just
before you enter the underwater tunnel. Then swim south to surface for air.
Pull up and shoot a winged
female. Go to the north-east and north-west corners of the area to pick
up two pistol ammo. Go to the south wall. Look
behind the column near the middle and pick up a gold
rose for secret #9. Return to the
entrance water hole. The large column to the south with a blue rock texture is
climbable. Climb to the top and you can see a key on top of a south column.
Run and jump west to grab a ledge. Pull up onto the
ledge. Follow the ledges counter-clockwise around the room. Pick up pistol ammo off the corner ledge. Shoot a bat on the last ledge. Climb the north wall to about
two tile sections short of the top. Back flip onto a platform. Jump onto the
next platform to the south. Go south-west and pull up onto a block to pick up pistol ammo. Pull up onto the west platform. Run and
jump east to grab a rope. Swim east and drop onto a platform with a pole. You
can run and jump to a north ledge for Uzi ammo.
I could not jump back so I left the ammo there. Climb the pole to about one
section from the top and back flip onto a ledge. Go west to shoot a bat and pick up pistol ammo.
Jump the ledges to the south. Drop down the blocks
and land on a south wall ledge. Pick up pistol ammo
and a small medipack. Run and jump east to grab
a ledge. Pull up and go east to drop down. Go west to drop onto a ledge. Jump
west onto a ledge and shoot a bat. Go to the end
and drop to grab the edge. Release and grab a lower crevice. Shimmy to the
right until the end. Climb down the wall onto a lower ledge. Stand jump north
onto the top of a column. Pick the old rusty key
and get a flyby of the key lock. Safety drop to the ground and go to the key
look in the east wall. Use the key to open the door. Enter the tunnel and go to
the end. Pull out a moveable block back into the room.
Go to the end of the tunnel and turn around. Pull
up into a higher west tunnel and pick up pistol ammo.
Go to the end of the tunnel and turn around. Pull up into a higher east tunnel
and go to the end. You enter a room with a sphere of light in the middle of a
platform. Run around the platform and pick up Uzi's,
two Uzi ammo, and two flares off the
floor. Step onto the platform and the level ends.
I think the game ends because the screen goes black
and I cannot do anything. Had to reboot the computer.
Reload a save game to try the alternate route.
Route 2:
Level 2: Anthin, Outskirts
You land on a platform in the middle of a water
pool. Pick up a small medipack off the
platform. Swim to the south-east and pull up onto an east ledge. Go east and
pick up pistol ammo off the ground. Then enter
a desolate area with dead trees, steam and fire vents in the ground. Go north
to the north wall and pick up pistol ammo in a
north wall alcove area. Turn around and shoot a wild
pig (40 hit points). Go east and
in front of the short wall, there is pistol ammo
on a fire vent. I just left it. Climb the short wall and safety drop into the
central cave. Go south and slide down a slope. You land in another cave and in
front of spikes on the wall.
Continue south and be careful of spikes behind the
column. The spikes have already got a ninja. Go behind the west wall column and
pick up pistol ammo. Continue south to bridges over a water pool. Dive into the water
and swim to the north-west corner for Uzi ammo.
Surface for air. Now swim to the south-east corner for pistol
ammo. Surface for air. Dive into the water and swim to the middle of the
east wall. Pull down the underwater lever on the east wall. Turn and swim west
and into the open underwater door in the lower west wall. Pick up pistol ammo off the floor at the west wall. Surface
and pull up onto a ledge and pick up a small medipack.
Go west to the end of the tunnel. Pull down a well hidden wall switch on the
west wall.
Return to the ledge and see that the water has been
drained. Safety drop onto the dry ground. Return to the previous area and go
south. Pull down the switch on the middle of the south wall. You get a cut
scene of the bridges. Go north and climb the wall. Jump over to the bridges and
enter the open door in the east wall. You enter another dark cave area. Go
north-west to the top of a slope. Stay on the right side to avoid a falling
spike ball. At the bottom of the slope, climb down the wall. Pick up Uzi ammo near the spike ball.
Go east into a large cave and shoot a poisonous spider (8 hit points). Go behind the hanging wall
section at the north wall. Pull up into a north wall tunnel. Stand jump onto a
wooden platform. Pull up into a higher cave to the south. Go onto the
south-west platform for Uzi ammo. Go onto the
south-east platform for a silver rose and secret #4. Get down and return to the large cave. Go
south and be careful of the pit. Shoot the south-east corner box and pick up pistol ammo. Now drop into the pit and land in water.
Pull up onto a south ledge.
Go south and grab the ledge but do not drop. Pull
up and shoot two spiders on the floor
below. Then safely drop in to the pit.
Go to the north-west corner for pistol ammo.
Enter the west wall alcove for flares. Go to
the north-east corner for a small medipack. Go
east into another cave. Pick up flares and two pistol ammo.
Shoot a spider sneaking up behind you.
Continue east and enter a large cave.
Run down a side wall ramp and hop onto the platform. Pick up the spider poison bottle off the ground.
Jump up to grab the west wall of the hanging column
above your head. Climb near the top and
back flip onto a ledge. Pick up flares and run
around to the opposite ledge to pick up more flares.
Go to the middle of the north ledge and climb the blocks to reach the top
ledge. Pick up two pistol ammo. Shoot two spiders on the side ledges. Go to the south-west
corner. Back flip onto a breakable tile. Jump forward to grab a breakable tile.
Pull up and jump onto the ledge. Pick up a large
medipack and place the bottle in the receptacle. You get a cut scene of
a door opening. Safety drop to the ledge.
Go to the south-east corner. Stand jump onto a
breakable tile. Pull up onto a ledge. Pick up a green
rose for secret #5. Safety drop to the
ground. Stand jump back onto the middle ledge and climb down the blocks to the
bottom. Pick up pistol ammo. There is also pistol ammo on the opposite ledge in the same
position. Go around to the side ledge
and jump to grab the climbable column. Return to the central platform. Run up
the side ramps and enter the east wall door that is now open. Hop to the side
to avoid a rolling spike ball.
Go to the east wall corners for pistol ammo and a small
medipack. Go up the ramp and climb the east wall. Pull up into a tunnel.
You enter another desolate area with steam and fire vents. Go south-east and
pick up a gold rose for secret #6. Go north through a doorway into a tall room. Follow
the ramp to the top. Hop into a west window and pick up large medipack and pistol ammo.
Hop into a south window and pick up small medipack
and pistol ammo. Go down the ramp to the main
room. There is pistol ammo on a north-east fire
vent. I left it.
Get on the motorcycle and drive east through the
large doorway. Avoid the fire and drive up the ramp. Jump over the gap and the
level changes.
Route 2:
Level 3: Anthin, The Dark Castle
You start the level on the motorcycle on a bridge.
Drive forward into a small room. Get off the motorcycle and return to the
entrance. Pick up flares from the entrance.
Ignore the switch on the wall and go north across the bridges. Hop onto a side
ledge for a small medipack. Return to the
entrance with the switch. Run and jump into the south-east corner. You should
land on a slope and slide down into the lower area with minimal damage. If
there was an easier way down, I did not find it.
Go north and pull down a switch on the side of a
bridge support column. Go north to find the open door in the east wall. First
go west to the west wall to pick up a large medipack.
Turn around and shoot a winged female. Pick up pistol ammo from the body. Ignore the water as it
leads to a dead end. See the note at end of this walkthrough. Go east and enter
the open doorway. Enter the room and go east. Shoot a ninja
and pick up a small medipack from the body.
Notice the east wall with the bad texture. Below it is a brick door that must
be opened. Go south to pick up pistol ammo on
the floor. Continue south and pick up flares in
a south wall alcove.
Go east and follow the corridor around the corner.
Follow another east corridor and see a small island in the water. Pull up onto
that island where the island is highest. It can be difficult, as Lara would
fall back into the water. Go to the east side of the island. Pick up the green rose for secret #7.
Go south into the water pool at the south wall. Turn around and swim into an
underwater tunnel in the north wall of that water pool. Follow the tunnel to
the end and pull down an underwater lever. You get a cut scene of a wall
opening somewhere. Swim back to the pool and get out of the water.
Cross the area and go to the north-west corner
where you see some boxes. Move the only moveable box on the ground to the west
wall so that three boxes are in a row. Move the top moveable box to the south
on top of the first box. Climb on the top box and run and jump onto the south
bridge. Go east to cross that bridge. Dive into the pool in front of you to
pick up pistol ammo and a small medipack. Look for an opening in the south
wall. Enter and go south over a long bridge. Then go west over another bridge
to the west wall. Pull down the switch and get a cut scene of a wall opening
under the bad textured wall.
Dive into the water and swim to the entrance steps
in the west wall. Pull up and follow the corridor. Return to the open door with
the bad texture. This is near where you shot the first ninja. Enter the room
and shoot another ninja. Pick up two pistol ammo and a small
medipack from the ledges in the room. Go to the south-east corner and
follow the ramp to a room. Hop onto a central platform and pick up flares. Go west and shoot a ninja.
Pick up pistol ammo from the body. Go out the
door and onto the bridge where you started. Go south and pick up a small medipack. Return south to the level entrance.
Pull down the switch on the west wall at the
entrance. The floor of the room drops. The motorcycle will be suspended in
mid-air. Safety drop into the room and slide down a long slope. You land in a
room with a lava floor. Jump south onto a ledge. Pull up to the west block.
Jump west to another block. Pull up and go west. Drop down onto a platform.
Pick up a gold rose for secret #8. Return back to the block where you started.
Stand jump south to grab a climbable wall. Climb to
the top and pull up. Go south and run and jump to a ledge in the lava. Climb
the south wall and pull up. Continue south to a lava pit. Run up both side
ramps and pull down the two wall switches. Jump down to the block in the middle
of the lava pit. Enter the open door
and enter a room with a sphere of light in the middle of a platform. Run around
the platform and pick up Uzi's, two Uzi ammo,
and two flares off the floor. Step onto the
platform and the level ends.
I think the game ends because the screen goes black
and I cannot do anything. Had to reboot the computer.
[Note] I
missed secret #9 somewhere. The dead end after the water hole mentioned above
is a closed door. I did not find a way to open that door. I assume that it
leads to the missing secret. If someone knows how to open the door, please post
it. [End note]
