ALWAYS BESIDE YOU by SLASH

Turn around and run to the water pool. Dive into
the water and pick up Uzi's from the bottom
corner. You can climb the ladder on the back wall but it seems to go nowhere.
You will be back here later. Turn around and be careful of the fires as you go
to the door. Go to the left side and press the wall button to open the door.
Hop onto the block and more fires start. Shoot the native
inside the door and hopefully before he shoots you with a poison dart.
Enter the corridor and look left to see a trap door and a key lock. Follow the
corridor and shoot another native. Go to the end of the corridor and drop into a hole
to pick up the Skull's Key. Return back in the
direction of the key lock.
You find a corner alcove with a short
block. Look for an opening in an upper wall. Stand on the block and jump to
grab the edge. Pull up into the opening and slide down a slope. Jump a set of
six slopes, as the floor is deadly. You land on a trap door over a water hole
and next to a closed gate. That timed closed gate is opened by a button near
the key lock. We will come back to it later. Press the button on the wall and
the trap door opens beneath you.
You drop into an underwater maze. Swim
forward a little and see two branch tunnels. Take the tunnel in the right side
corner. Follow the twisting tunnel to a large room with columns. The red
squares on the floor are deadly fire traps. Climb the ladder in front of you.
Slide down the slope and jump to the next slope. Pull up and jump again to grab
a slope. Pull up and slide down and jump into an alcove at the wall. You get secret #1 and a large medipack. Drop back and grab
the edge. Shimmy to the right before you drop to the floor. Go to the two
sloped columns. Pull up to the shorter slope, back flip and jump forward to
grab a floating bridge. Turn to your left and run and jump to another floating
bridge. Jump to grab the ceiling and monkey swing to the crawl space at the far
wall. Release and grab the crawl space below. Get into the crawl space for secret #2 and flares. Climb back out and drop onto the slope.
Slide down and near the bottom of the slope back flip over the deadly red tile.
Return to the water maze and swim back to the trap door for air. Do not pull up
onto the floor, as the floor is deadly.
Swim forward again a little and see two
branch tunnels. Take the left most tunnel and follow it until you have a choice
of directions at a block towards your right side. Take the right tunnel over
the block and swim down a vertical shaft. Follow the tunnel at the bottom and
surface in an alcove. Pull up to a ledge for secret #3 and a small medipack. Swim back to the
block and take the other branch tunnel to the left.
Follow the tunnel and continue to a
T-junction where the wall is green in color. Take the left tunnel and continue
to pull up into a blue room. Pull up and press the wall button to open the
lower grate in the wall. Exit into the starting room. In the test version you
could climb the ladder get a secret but not this time. Get back through the
grate and swim back to the green wall. Take the other branch and pull up
through a trap door that closes behind you. Exit out the door into the starting
room and be careful of the fire on the floor. Run to the ladder at the back
wall. Now climb the ladder on the wall. Last time there was nothing. This time
you pull up into a tunnel. Go into a crawl space for secret #4 and a second Skull's Key. Climb down and
carefully run over the floor again to get back into the room with the key lock.
Go to the key lock and use a Skull's
Key. The gate opens in the right alcove. Go there and save the game for a timed
run. Press a wall button. You get a cut scene of a gate opening next to a water
hole. Hop back, turn, and jump out of the alcove. Now return to the opening in
the wall. Try to jump onto the corner block so that you do not waste time
climbing onto it. Jump to grab the opening and jump the slopes again. At the
end, jump into the open gate. The trap door over the water has closed again,
which is very helpful. If you do not make it, reload and try again. You see
Winston at the end of a corridor.
Go to the key lock in the left alcove
and use a Skull's Key. The trap door opens in the floor in the corridor. Drop
into the water and the central current carries you to a flooded room. Swim to
the bottom to get secret #5 and pick up the rocket launcher. Avoid the two crocodiles and swim back next to the blue side wall. The current is only in
the middle of the tunnel. The trap door opens and you can surface and pull up.
There is a sign on the wall stating "This is not the true ending".
You have a choice.
Choice 1: Run down the corridor and
onto the blue tiles. The level ends.
Choice 2: Continue to play the level.
Run down the corridor and jump over the
two blue tiles. Go around Winston and hop up onto a block around the corner.
Press a wall button and the metal door opens in the hole beside you. Exit the
door and find a quadbike and some ramps. Take note of the warning not to save
on the deadly red tiles. You can search the area and look for a patch of green
floor among the gray walls. Go there to pick up a large medipack on the ground. You
may find a ladder but it leads to nothing useful.
To maneuver the quadbike, remember
Hold CTRL to go forward and press ALT to brake.
Hold ALT to reverse.
Use END and left or right arrow to dismount.
You cannot save on the red tiles.
However this time there are areas in the route where you can save the game.
This is a real big improvement over the test level version. Many thanks to the
author for changing this. Get on the quadbike and start to drive over the red
tiles. Go up the ramp, jump a gap, and turn to the right. Do not hit the wall
or you will not make the next jump. Turn right and go up the hill to another
jump. Turn right and keep close to the wall but do not hit it. Make the jump
and release CTRL and tap ALT to stop. You should jump the gap and hit a bump to
stop. The floor is gray and not red. You can save the game here for the next
jumps.
Use CTRL and ALT to maneuver the
quadbike. Keep to the left side where the bump is higher and you should make it
over the first gap. Tap the CTRL key so that you do not get too much speed.
Keep going and at the top, turn to the right but still keep to the left side of
the slope. You should jump the gap and hit a block to stop. The floor is gray
and not red. You can save the game here for the next jumps.
Maneuver the quadbike to the left side
of the next slope. I found it best to just tap the CTRL key so that you get to
the top very slowly. At the top, get ready for a right turn. Tap ALT to brake
and make the turn. Make another right turn and the floor is gray and not red.
Use END and the left or right arrow to get off the quadbike onto the safe gray
tiles. Save the game a few times in different slots.
Pull up to a large area and kill two natives. They shoot poison
darts, so if you are hit, wait until they are both dead before taking a
medipack to heal yourself. Pick up two small
medipacks from the dead bodies. In one corner of
the platform is a button. Press the button and you are sucked up into a water
shaft. You bounce on a water hole. Use jump to land in a small room. Jump into
the tunnel in the wall and you are swimming again. At the end of the tunnel you
are back in the air and sliding down a slope. Jump up and roll so you slide
down backwards. You should save at this point. Guess when you are near the end
and back flip over a deadly red tile. Land on another slope and slide down
backwards to grab the edge. Then shimmy to the left and pull up into an
opening. You can see many raptors below you. The raptors attack each other and
many will die below you.
There is a triangular crawl space in
the right wall but I found nothing inside it. Follow the tunnel and drop onto a
plateau. Get on the quadbike and drive down the slope into the pit. Run over fourteen raptors and a T-rex. Although some raptors had killed each
other already. Then pick up two Bloody Spinel
Rubies from among the raptor corpses. On one wall is
a picture of a girl with a camera. You have a choice.
Choice 1: Climb the two columns at the
wall to the right of the picture of the girl. Place the Bloody Spinel Rubies in
the receptacles on the wall and a door opens at ground level between the
columns. Get on the quadbike and drive up the slopes. You can also run up the
slopes as well. As you approach the top, you see a sign on the floor stating
"This is not the true ending". Run over the sign and the level ends.
Choice 2: Continue to play the level.
Enter the tall open gate to the left of
the picture of the girl. Light a flare so that you can see the ladder. Climb
the ladder before the fires start on the floor and kill you. Climb up, release,
and grab the ladder. Quickly shimmy to the left and pull up into a tunnel before
Lara gets into her climbing position. Pick up flares from the floor. Follow the tunnel and
go through a crawl space. Sand up and save the game at the top of a slope. Wait
with patience and shoot three crocodiles as they swim around in the water below.
Slide down the slope and land on
another slope. Slide down and jump over a fire to grab a climbable wall. Climb
up and continue to jump many slopes around the room. If you fall into the
water, swim down into one corner for a rocket. Then swim to the opposite corner to
pull up onto a ledge. Pick up a large medipack and shoot another three crocodiles in the water. Jump onto the starting slope and try the trip
again. After about eight slopes you can grab a climbable wall and save the
game. Pull up, slide down, jump to a slope, slide down, jump and grab another
climbable wall and save the game. You can save the game while pulling up over
or into a slope.
Pull up, slide down, jump a few more
slopes and grab the top of a slope. Pull up, slide down and grab a climbable
wall. You can see the fire at the room entrance far below you. Climb up, pull
up, back flip, and roll to grab a climbable wall. Climb up, pull up, back flip,
and roll to grab the edge of a slope. You can save the game while you are
pulling up onto the slope. You have a choice:
Choice 1: Shimmy to the right. Pull up,
back flip, and roll to grab the edge of a slope. Pull up, slide down, and jump
several more slopes. On the last slope, slide down and jump over a fire trap.
You enter a room with Winston and his tea tray. There is the picture of the
girl on the wall. There are signs on the floor stating "This is not the
true ending". Walk onto the sign and the level ends.
Choice 2: Continue to play the level.
Shimmy to the left. Pull up, back flip,
and roll to grab the edge of a slope. Pull up, slide down, and jump to grab a
climbable wall. Pull up and jump a few more slopes and finally pull up onto a
green flat section. A water current carries you down a tunnel and you stop.
Save the game. Light a flare and look above your head for a ladder on a side
wall. Climb the ladder and pull up into a crawl space. Crawl forward for secret #6. Pick up rockets, Uzi’s and Uzi ammo. Crawl out and climb down the ladder.
Save the game again.
Get into the next tunnel section. The
water current carries you again. As soon as the water current stops, you drop
onto a slope. Immediately jump forward over a fire trap and onto another slope.
Slide down and jump over the fire trap at the bottom. You enter another tunnel.
Follow the tunnel to press a button on the wall to open the gate. Save the
game. Enter the gate and the gate closes behind you. Shoot the T-rex before he gets you. Loop around to the
left when you enter the gate. Stand jump over the slopes and get into a safe
corner from where you can shoot the T-rex in safety. When the T-rex is dead,
pick up a Bloody Spinel Ruby near his butt. Go to the opposite corner of the area and step on
a blue tile behind a column. You hear a door open. Go back to the safe slope
area and enter the open gate. Winston is there with his tea tray.
Hop into the hole in the wall. Stand
jump over the gap and land on a slope. Jump forward to grab a monkey swing on
the ceiling. Follow the monkey swing and drop into a dark tunnel. Follow the
tunnel and see a sign stating "Well done. This is the end". Place the
Bloody Spinel Ruby in the receptacle by the gate and the level ends.
