Descend! At the third turn, jump on the slope behind the twin trees, to find SECRET #1 in the corner: the first of five Conan books hidden in this game.

 

 

 

LEVEL 2: CROFT MANOR#WEI

 

Always save in a different slot in this level.

 

 

Clouding around

 

Climb the stretched pillar on Your right (grab the E side) and jump on the cloud. Travel through the whole one, runjump/grab/pull up on the manor roof. From the square to the NE of the rollingball stuck in the ceiling, pick up the shotgun. It is essential, even though it doesn't seem to be. Go back all the way to the bottom.

 

 

Into the manor

 

Go towards the flares, but watch out while approaching them - You need to jump over an unmarked pit, otherwise You'll lead You to fatal death of Lara. Obtained all 72 flares, You shouldn't have any problems in the future. Follow the wide, curving corridor instead. When You see a pegasus, ignore it. When You see a transparent gasoline wall, cross it and go between the manor wall and the surrounding one. Far, far at the end of this path, You will find a switch. Press it and the door leading into the mansion opens. Go around the building and enter it.

 

 

Basement: The Beginning

 

There is a trapdoor in the floor - open it and sprint through it N to immediately start to slide. This way, You won't die squashed by the spikeball. You're not safe yet - the boulder is chasing You, so bounce off the slope and land behind the pit. The trapdoor closes and You can exit the room. To do so, approach the static camera. In the "water room", drop from the block to the left and enter the dark, where a crawlspace is drilled in the wall. Pass it and pull a floor switch behind it. Go back to the water room and through the open door.

Go left. You don't need to follow the corridor to the very end. The only thing behind the white writing on the floor is a picture You can fall through to Lara's death, just like it was in case of flares. When You spot the first pair of green tiles, notice the wall part next to them has a different colour, and there is an opening above. Yes, it is a ladder - climb it and press the floor switch hidden beneath the cartoon character tile up there. Descend to the basement floor, return to the starting point of this room and now take the other corridor. There is a tempting picture on the floor, but - just like the other one - it's a devious trap, so just avoid it and pass through the new door.

 

 

Everybody Goes Natla Fighting

 

Jump on the lower grassy block and follow the ones to the right of it. Descended, shoot Natla with the shotgun (pistols won't do). If done from close enough, she should fall after a single shot, but watch out not to kill her on a spike square, as she drops a key. Pick up additional shotgun ammo from next to the blocks. Now use them to get back on the ground floor of the basement. Climb the highest block. See the snowy wall in the far left corner? This is where You are supposed to swing and nowhere else, unless You want to be doomed.

 

 

Cavern of The Great Gif

 

Friendly-looking water is actually deadly. As I look at it more carefully, it seems to fight, so no wonder it kills. Swing two ropes. With super swing from the second one, the third rope is not necessary. Leave the switch for later (it triggers a timed run). Step in the hardly visible corridor to the left of it and hand on the ledge above the water. It's actually another ladder. Shimmy left and climb to the top for another Key. Drop to the switch, SAVE and pull it. Swing back to the Natla room...

 

 

Lara gets some gear

 

...grab the MS once again, swing to the door, drop to grab its base and pull through before the portal shuts. I don't get those slopes... simply sprint through the spikes towards the light and You should lose the same amount of health as if You did the intended way, but it will be much faster. Drop in the next room, move the lever and exit to the next chamber. Must be an arsenal, as there are uzis and the crossbow - both with additional ammo (crossbow gets some explosive arrows).

 

 

Lara gets more gear

 

Drop into yet lower room, and sprint around it, triggering some spikeballs on Your way to the pillar next to the wall. Grab its E side and climb to the top. Perform a beautiful swan-dive into the central "crater" (The Great Gif water is safe here) and swim through the UW hole. Get a book (Conan~~~~~0.0) from the bottom (SECRET #2) and swim out through the next hole to resurface and stand on the dry floor. Get on the block and swing the rope to the closest slope, to bounce off it and land in the corridor. Six times, collect uzi clips and climb the ladder at the end...

 

 

Nesterenko Fight

 

Aaah, so THIS is why You got all this ammo! Kill all naughty girls, watching out for them not to draw their guns too early... It's good idea to stick close to them before they die - as their first-instance weapon is sabre. Find and pull the switch on the SW pillar. Wow, an undead Kurtis! Explode him to retrieve another Conan (SECRET #3) and get back to the main, lower corridor.

 

 

The puzzle

 

Follow it to the electric arch. To the left of it, there is a barely visible walk-through (not a walkthrough) wall. Go through to approach the automatic grate. As soon as You are on the other side, it slams behind You. I must say I don't know what is presented in the worshipped picture. I only recognize the clef and a quaver, but all rest is pure Chinese to me. I never heard about Conan cartoon, so I have to check what it is. Next to the E wall, there is a block with a reach-switch above it. Climb there to catch jeep keys. There is a push- or in this case, pullblock in the S wall. And the other one in the N. Move them to create the complete vertical puzzle (its first half is enlighted by flames). It means the S block goes 2N 4W 2N 2E, and the N one -  2S 2E 2S 2W. TIP: It's enough to move the S block to raise the gate and get out.

 

 

Getting out

 

Back in the main corridor again, follow it to the far end switch. Pull it and kill the harpy flying down the grassy ladder behind You. Climb a bit and You should attract another blue monster. Get to the very top and appear in the mansion entrance. Kill two more harpies and look down into the pit You've just left. It's only one way to descend for SECRET #4 - SAVE, take a run-up and sprint diagonally into the hole with feign grab, so You can hear that marvellous sound :D Then LOAD and count the secret as Your, even though it won't appear in the stats... unlike SECRET #5 from upstairs cage (now open) - pick it up and exit the manor. Spot a shelf on Your right, low enough for You to pull up.

 

 

Eye of Horus Banshee

 

In any other case, I found a script default name disturbing. Here, it sounds cool. Enter the vehicle and run over a horseman appearing below You. Watch both the enemy and his pegasus vanish and drive up the ramp to the left of the mansion. As long as You can, drive through the following bridge, until You can fall at the minimum height. Exit the car, place the keys and run through the corridor to the end of the level.
