The Venice Incident – 20x20x20 challenge
Level by Uzi Master (Blade Leguerrier)
Walkthrough by dmdibl (David Dibble)
This level is no more than 20 blocks wide, 20 blocks long,
and 20 blocks tall. Pistol ammo is limited. The men in white suits have
bulletproof vests, but the Glock uses Teflon-coated rounds that will penetrate
the vests. Otherwise a powerful weapon like the shotgun or M-16 is advisable
against the guys in white.
Note: gunman = gunman in black suit;
Mafioso = gunman in white suit, a ‘made man.’
Lara hears a ticking from the back of her speedboat, and without
hesitation leaps to a dock and rolls. The boat explodes leaving Lara stranded
among the canals of Venice.
Go left (S). Right around the corner are pistol
clips (50 rounds). Continuing, the tree has small medipack, the next tree has shotgun shells. The dog looks like he is guarding
more ammo for Lara, but better shoot him before
picking up pistol clips. Go to where the
dog fell to get small medipack (dogs
often swallow them in this adventure).
Dive into the canal, in the middle of the east wall use an underwater
lever, roll, and swim through an opposite door that opened. Go left inside, and
left around the corner, and swim down into a slot at bottom, inside find shotgun. Swim out and get onto a raised portion,
wade toward the center and shoot two rats. Pull out where they were and use a
wall lever, a camera shows a block going down to the right of the villa's front
door. Some sort of small bats attack, Lara can try to hide underwater. Two
large bats attack, shoot them with pistols. Wade and swim to the NW corner for pistol clips. Swim to about the middle of the
east wall for M-16 clips. Then swim S to
exit, left around the corner (E), and pull out of the water to stand outside
the front door.
Go to the right (N) around the corner to where the block lowered, and
pick up Golden Key. Look north to a
window, stepping toward it will alert two gunmen. With pistols out, Lara should
start backing up, all the way to the front door, and keep backing up, while
gunmen break the window, and run firing toward her. When they are dead pick up large medipack and Uzi
clips. Go to the broken window, into the little gunmen area and in
NW corner find pistol clips. Jump onto a
crate here, and pull up to
ledge overhead for Uzi clips.
Exit east, and left of the gondola find another Golden Key.
Return to the front door and use the keys on either side to open the
doors, then enter. Too bad that Lara
is stumbling into a major meeting of a crime syndicate. Press button
right (N), go in opened door, shoot a couple bats. In the SW corner, crouch to
get a large medipack, and across to the
east wall to get M-16 clips. Lara sees
on the east wall that she needs an item before the spikes in the center will be
disabled. For now, go out of this room, and straight
across to S door.
Push the double doors open. A Mafioso drops down, get out the shotgun
and back up, blasting at him. By the time he drops a gunman appears, so shoot
him too. The first leaves the Uzis, the
second Glock ammo. Now go into the south
room, shoot both dogs that are dreamily looking out windows, and get 2x small medipack. A NE corner diagonal crawlspace
has shotgun shells and shotgun wideshot shells (the trapdoor at the top
of this ladder has to be opened from above). When Lara crawls
out notice the trigger tile under her in the corner. Move the harp in
the SE to that tile—actually, it's a good idea to move the harp to one square before
that tile and save the game, then push the harp on the
tile.
A camera shows two gunmen rushing at Lara, so maybe try the Uzis (shoot
a rat while you're at it). Take 2x pistol clips
from their bodies. Go outside this room, and now the doors to the west are
open. Enter the main house, and see that the door to the right (N) is
invitingly open. Ha! Fat chance. Instead go forward, a
right block by the stairs has small medipack,
the low table across the way has Uzi clips.
Go to the top of the stairs, then north for large
medipack. There isn't anything else that can be done upstairs, so go
down to the south door on the stair landing. Push double doors open, enter, and
go to the red curtains right (NW). Push the button behind them, and the
painting on the other side of the room opens. Lara hops through the painting
opening, and a camera shows that a gunman appears, but the closing painting
blocks him off. So Lara goes right (S), through a crawlspace.
Drop out of it, use a wall switch, an adjacent door opens to the west.
Go inside the ductwork and throw a floor lever. The plinth blades stop, so Lara
can continue safely to the end of the ductwork to pick up a crowbar, then return back through the plinth
blades—the blades are going to start up again, the blades are going to start up
again—well, okay, maybe not. Go straight forward and use the crowbar on a door,
to be back in that sort of library. As Lara steps out a dog
attacks, then a gunman. The dog leaves a small
medipack,
the gunman drops a note which reads:
“The great Madame, all were humbled by her
greatness, her power. We shall serve her, she shall rise. We will never forget
her tragic death in 1907.”
This doesn't mean a whole lot to me, but Lara is already running out of
this room, and back to the front entryway. Go right to the keypad near the
front door and enter the number “1907”. The container next to the keypad
opens up, Lara reaches in to get Glock and batteries
(obviously the batteries have a later use).
Enter the doors west again, and this time go to that inviting door on
the right stair landing N. Lara may want to start by drawing Uzis. Check all
ammo, and maybe take a small medipack to top up Lara's health if needed. Now
step inside. The door closes behind Lara.
This can be rough if Lara steps too far down the stairs, as this may
cause gunmen on a ringing walkway to drop down, in addition to enemies on the
ground. Also, if Lara is on the left side when entering the door, she may get
distracted by those high up gunmen, while being blasted by a gunman next to
her. The best thing is to enter on the right side, advance a small step, roll
forward so that Lara touches the stairs, then roll and hop back against the
door, as far in the entry corner as possible. Watch Lara's health. She may only
have to contend with 2x gunmen and two dogs initially.
When those are dead, step down and pick up pistol
clips and Glock ammo. You can
probably hear two gunmen running overhead, trying to get out the door up there.
Climb up on the table, jump/grab the chandelier, and pull up. Draw the Glock.
Lara should be able to jump straight up from the chandelier and shoot the
gunmen in the SE corner where the door is. She can shoot them in the back. This
is so much easier than having them drop down to join the initial fight.
Once they are dead, drop down to the table and switch to pistols. Shoot
the vase under the chandelier, and crouch to pick up the Bundle of Keys. Shoot the vase that is farther
down the table, the one at the west end, and pick up Glock ammo. Do NOT
shoot the nearby vase, as it contains those small bats.
Climb the chandelier again, and take a running jump/grab to the climbing
surface west between the balcony railings. Shimmy around right to drop down
onto the balcony. Run around to the SE door, shooting a couple of bats, to see
what the gunmen left: M-16 clips and shotgun shells. Push the double doors open, and
shoot a dog with pistols.
Don't exit by the double doors, but instead go west, and use the bundle
of keys to unlock the door there. Lara steps out on a tiny balcony. To the left
outside there is a brick wall, and a gunman pacing
back and forth on it. If Lara acts fast he doesn't even notice her. Use Uzis to
shoot him in the back, and he rolls off the brick wall. Pick up Uzi clips on the little balcony. Take a running
jump to land on the brick wall where the gunman was. Hang and drop into the
area beneath the small balcony. Here Lara can push the button for the door in
the brick wall, so that she can access this area later on.
There is a gunman outside the brick wall, so shoot him, get his Glock ammo. A Mafioso is observing from the far
side of this next area, use a weapon like the Glock to take him out, get his large medipack. Continue south, push open the
double doors, and inside climb on a crate for grenade
ammo. Drop down and open a manhole cover. Descend the ladder, pick
up pistol clips from the middle of
puddled water, but the far door is closed, so get back up and out. Outside in
the grassy area, shoot a window right to get back in the house.
Here at the back of the house there are two doors, north and south, and
both take the Bundle of Keys to unlock. Go left (N) and unlock the door. Go
downstairs. In the room go to the far right corner (SE) for shotgun wideshot shells. From the
entrance, make a sharp right to throw a wall lever; this closes the entrance
door, and opens the door on the right. Go through, up short stairs, around to
the left just far enough to see the M-16 protected by steam jets. Don't get too
close or Lara will be scalded.
Jump into the water and swim to the farthest SW corner, throw the
underwater lever on the inside of the pillar. See a door open. (Lara was just
in that area, after dropping down a manhole ladder.) Now swim to the farthest
NE corner to pick up Glock ammo. From
here swim out, make a right around the corner and swim against the right wall
to the inside corner, and pick up shotgun shells.
Pull out of the water.
Go to the east-west walkway in the middle of the room, W end. Pull back
the mirror once. Get to the side and pull it back east once. Now the passage is
clear where the mirror was, go down it to a wheel valve and turn it. This does
several things. It double flips the entrance doors again, meaning the door by
which Lara entered here is now shut, but the passageway door to the small room
is now open. That means that thugs that were in that passageway have now made
it into the small room, and are now trying to get into the final door to this
area. But most importantly the value turned off steam jets over the M-16.
Lara side flips over the pipe with the valve. Pick up 2x M-16 clips. Side flip
out. Go over now to pick up Blue Key
and M-16. If Lara wants to get out of
here she will now have to go back and turn the valve again, do
that. For the fun of it let's see if the M-16 works. Wait for the gunmen
to show up, and find that the M-16 works fine. Pick up their small medipack and pistol
clips. Go down the dark stairs. Throw the wall lever at the bottom
to reverse the doors again. Now Lara can leave by the passageway.
At the top of the stairs keep running straight across the house to the
north, and unlock the door there. Shoot the dog, and get his small medipack. Now there are a lot of gunmen
below. It shows discretion on Lara's part to just step into the hallway down,
then to turn and sprint back toward the front door. This gives her lots
of room to roll and strafe with the M-16. Two Mafiosi drop shotgun shells and M-16
clips, three gunmen drop Glock ammo
and 2x Uzi clips.
Returned to that opened north door and go down. Shoot a rat. Get large medipack, Yellow
Key, Glock ammo.
Go back out the passage, outside the door to windows on the left. I'm
not sure about the actions in this paragraph, Lara merely seems to detour, but
remember that underwater lever opened a door. Go through the broken window to a
grassy area outside, and left through the south door, and down a manhole
ladder. Go through puddled water, find the opened door, and shoot two dogs. If
Lara stands around she can shoot two more dogs. Pick up 2x shotgun shells and a small
medipack. Find the crowbar door in the SE corner, open it, go up to
a wall switch, open the door, and Lara is back underground at the valve, even
though everything is done here. The far side door in this water area is now
shut, so Lara could work the valve again, but I think the easiest thing for Lara
is to return to the manhole cover, climb up, go back to the grassy area, and
enter the house by the broken window.
Go toward the front of the house, up the stairs and left (S) to find the
keyhole for the Blue Key. Use it. Carefully enter the room as there is a
swinging crate on the right. Run to the left and shoot rat, dog, and roll to
shoot gunman and take his large medipack.
Switch to pistols, shoot vase NE for shotgun shells.
Shoot out the window south. Shoot vase SW for flares.
Shoot out the west window, and here pick up pistol
clips.
Switch weapon to something more powerful, although not necessary. Drop
out the south window, shoot two dogs, pick up their small medipack. From the small doorway east pick
up a radio. Combine the radio with
batteries, to have a Radio With
Batteries—obviously. Climb the ladder west, and at top turn right.
Lara had a lot of trouble trying to slide down past the clothesline with damp
laundry. So I had Lara stand facing the right broken window (in the room, this
is the end window Lara shot). A little more than one square out from the right
wall, do a standing jump into that window.
Get around the swinging crate and out of this room. Go down the stairs
to the bottom. Here there is a low table on one side, and a computer desk on
the other side. Place the Radio With Batteries next to
the computer, in the center of the desk. Lara makes a distress call requesting
help. The trouble with doing this on an open channel is that other people are
listening in, and won't be at all happy about more intruders.
Go up the stairs and start to go by the room with the blue keyhole. A
camera shows all sorts of mobsters converging on Lara. This is too much. Lara
runs into the room on the right (avoiding swinging crate) and to the far left
corner by the clothes rack. Turn toward the doorway, and wait with M-16, shoot
about 3x gunmen and a Mafioso. First time they dropped nothing, but on replay
Lara found shotgun wideshot shells.
Go out of the room right, and up to big double doors that opened. Go into
a small passage right, a door shuts behind her. At the end of this corridor
shoot 2x gunmen, and pick up Glock ammo.
Go left, shoot the window glass, get shotgun shells. Come back and use the yellow key,
shoot a dog that comes out. In the small room shoot a vase on the floor for Heart of Protection. Uh, right. Crouch against the
clothes rack and chair to pick up Glock ammo.
Get out the Glock because a Mafioso comes running, get his large medipack. When Lara comes back to the
intersection of small halls there's a small
medipack, not sure why, maybe from that dog.
Go to the broken window, from its edge jump right to a balcony. Push
open double doors. Shoot a dog (a small medipack
does appear to the side of where he falls), and shoot a vase for pistol clips. There is a button that opens a door
on a brick wall, for whatever reason. The table is between alcoves with a
window and a crowbar door. If Lara does the crowbar door she falls out, so wait
a bit for that.
Go outside to the balcony. Save the game. Angle a running jump right to
the red awning SE. Slide down, grab the edge, shimmy
left to get a Golden Key. A gunman
starts firing from that balcony, and it is hard to hit him. I just had Lara
leap into the water, swim most of the way down the canal, and get out past the
front door. A dog runs out the front door, shoot it for small medipack. Quickly turn the corner of the
front door to shoot a Mafioso for Uzi clips.
In the entryway turn into the right (N) door. Go to the middle of the east wall
and place the heart. In the room center spikes shoot up and retract. From the
now safe spike area pick up Code Card and Grenade Launcher.
Go out of room, and up the stairs, and all the way around to the big
open doors. In here, go left to press a button. You may be tired of the racket
the gunman is making out on the balcony, so go straight across and left to the
window to shoot him. Jump to that balcony, go inside
the room, and left to open a crowbar door.
Lara falls down into water. Pull the underwater lever near the fans.
Above the lever and fans, get out on a ledge for shotgun
shells. Jump across the water, pull up, go
forward to use a wall lever. This raises a trapdoor, so Lara can jump back high
across the water. Grab and pull up twice. Pick up a Golden
Key on top, so once again Lara has two of them. Now look ahead, Lara
has been in this next area before. On the far roof is a Mafioso impatiently waiting. I had Lara drop down to the next slanted roof and
use the M-16 to shoot him.
Now hang and drop where Lara got the radio. Run across and climb the
ladder. Once again turn to the right, and set up a jump for the broken window.
Inside the room, watch out for the swinging crate, exit by the door. Go right
and up to the big doors. This time continue straight through, but there are
gunmen waiting on both the right and left. Get their attention and run back.
Shoot them, get Uzi
clips and M-16 clips. On the
left side, shoot a dog on a bed. Crouch down and shoot a vase under the corner
table. A rat runs out, shoot the rat for another Blue Key. Jump on top the table for Pistols (basically the same as picking up clips).
In the opposite corner by the foot of the bed, shoot a vase for pistol clips.
Now go to the south, notice the trigger tile right next to the opened doors.
Go into the south corridor and around, push out the harp, and place it on that
tile. The outer doors open to a balcony.
Draw Uzis and start to go out, triggering a camera shot of overhead and
side balconies, and gunmen and Mafioso. Sometimes when the camera shot ends, a
gunman confronts Lara (fallen from above?), but then sometimes not. Go out
around to the right on the balcony (S) and shoot a gunman. Go to the opposite
end of the balcony, and in the distance see a Mafioso. Lara can use the Glock, by jumping up and shooting she can score hits and
drop him. Looking in the same direction, there is a gunman on a closer balcony;
Lara can use the Glock in the same fashion on him.
Now make a running jump to the red awning that is outward from where
Lara has been standing. From a high point of this awning, Lara has to jump to a
lower point on the red awning to the north, where the gondola is. Try this:
Lara sets up the jump normally, hopping back, then she jumps straight up in the
air (to advance herself a little bit forward), then she takes the jump without
grab. Her feet should land on the edge of the far awning. Sometimes it helps to
roll forward after such a close jump, but in this case it isn't necessary.
Jump to the next red awning. From here jump to the balcony with double
doors where the gunman was. Push the double doors open, to find that three
gunmen are waiting. Deal with them, pick up small
medipack, shotgun shells, and
Uzi clips and look around. Notice the
unlit wall torches.
Go out the hallway and come to scything blades on the stairway. It isn't
clear whether there is any advantage to going down now. (Whether Lara get wires at the bottom of the staircase, or whether she
gets the torch another place, she will still have to come back up.) Take the
torch route first.
Go up the stairs. Use the Blue Key in the keyhole, and a block lowers.
Go into the hallway to the right, past some gunmen trying to get through doors.
Continue to a corner, shoot a dog, get Uzi clips. On the next stretch
pick up Glock ammo. Follow the
hall, and turn right where there is a door and two golden keyholes. Roll and
shoot a dog that is running up behind Lara. Use both golden keys, enter the
door, and on floor level go to the back left. Use the code card in the alcove,
see a camera shot of a Mafioso, and get out the Glock to deal with him.
Turn the corner and shoot two Mafiosi, one high and one low, pick up large medipack and Uzi
clips where they fall. There are also Uzi
clips on the floor to the right of the table and chair. Go up the
stairs, and position Lara to jump on top the chandelier. Jump across, and use
Ctrl to get into a window alcove, take the Rose
Jewel. Safety drop down, get out of this room.
At the circuitous hallway, go to the right, take the corner left, and
halfway down the hall come to double doors to the outside. If these are free of
gunmen trying to burst through, Lara can open up one or both of them. In the
hallway opposite these doors is a set of closed dark doors (W), and to the side
of them are receptacles for two Rose Jewels. Remember that for later, when Lara
has found the second Rose Jewel. Continue on, pass the corner where Lara came
up, and continue to where gunmen are behind the doors. Use the Bundle of Keys
in the keyhole, run around the corner to lessen the mob of gunmen, and shoot
them as they come after Lara. Pick up Glock ammo,
large medipack, and M-16 clips that they leave.
Go out those open doors straight across to wall, then
turn around and look up to the right of that opening. Spot the jump switch, get
under it and jump up to use it. To the left a nearby block raised up. Go left
and climb a block higher, go right a square or two to find a wall lever. This
is important for the zip line later, but first Lara needs wires, and to drop a
trapdoor.
The next two paragraphs are in the way of sightseeing (remember Lara is
really here for the torch). Lara can go to the SE stairs up, and continue to
explore to find up on the left shotgun shells,
and directly over them, on a higher level a small
medipack. Go to the end of this path south to find a high ladder to
the roof; here the camera changes to overhead, and Lara fights two gunmen.
Ignore the ladder for now, take the right path and come out on a high area
where Lara fights a gunman, and targets a high up Mafioso with her Glock. On
this roof collect Glock ammo, small medipack, and 2x Uzi clips. This was the place that Lara saw when getting the
Rose Jewel.
Now return back down the stairs. Come to that ladder to the roof,
overhead camera shot,
and this time climb the ladder. To the right find large medipack, and run to the other end of the
roof for Glock ammo. From here make a
jump across for 2x shotgun shells. Jump
back, then go back near the large medipack end of this roof, and use a running
jump north to go over the alley and the railing of the adjacent building. On
its rooftop get small medipack, large medipack, grenade
ammo, and 2x shotgun wideshot shells.
Make a running jump back to the first high roof, take the ladder down.
This kind of exploration could be done at any time. For now return
north, beyond that wall lever, all the way to a low spiked fence. Get down left
here, and see the jump switch that Lara used. Now Lara can do the things she
came here to do. Go past the jump switch and to the right beyond a crate spot a
Glock. Pick it up. Next to the square
with Glock is a window—shoot it. The easiest way to get into this window is to
get on the boards away in front of it, and take a running jump with Ctrl to get
inside.
Climb up left and shoot a bell. Hear a trapdoor drop and a swarm of
small bats or black moths attack, so crouch down in a
corner until they go away. Drop and hang, as Lara will fall down into a lower
area; when Lara lands there are torches in front of her. Move a stone cross to
a white/rose tile. The door opens, and a gunman, dog, and wraith attack. Shoot
the dog and gunman, run from the wraith through the open door ahead (remember Lara's
precaution to open it earlier), make a left through the broken window, run
through the house and jump into the canal. The water will extinguish the
wraith. Retrace steps to where Lara moved the cross.
Pick up a small medipack in the
little yard, left by the dog. Go in where Lara moved the cross, and pick up a
torch. Probably you remember the burning fireplace. Go back into the house, to
the front entryway, and go left to light the torch at the fireplace. Exit this
room, go right, up the stairs, around and out to the front balcony of the
house. Holding the lit torch, make a running jump to the balcony in front. Turn
left and make the jump to that awning as before (set Lara up, jump straight up
to advance her forward), make the jump to a lower part of the awning. Jump
around to the balcony and go in the doorway.
Light the three wall torches here. The red curtain in the corner is
swept aside to reveal three gunmen, and if Lara steps into the room two more
gunmen. Shoot them and pick up flares, shotgun shells, shotgun
wideshot shells, large medipack,
2x Uzi clips, and Code Card. Go out to the lit torch area, and
around the corner left to be back at the top of the stairs.
Lara has to pass the blades on the stairs. At the very top of the stairs
crouch down on the right side. Use the crawlspace roll, which is Crouch +
Sprint Key. Roll at the right moment as the blade is
about to pull back. It took about a small medipack of health to get down
to the bottom, but I didn't have the patience to try again. Shoot the plate
covering the wires to expose them, use Ctrl for the crowbar to collect the wires. Pick up Uzi
clips under the stairs. Open the double doors.
Draw Uzis and jump backward to the wall. Two dogs and a rat attack, and
with this extra space Lara can fend them off. Now go into the next room, which
is the one with the burning fireplace. Unless Lara wants to go up the blade
stairs, she has to repeat the routine used to take up the torch. Go out of this
room right, up the stairs, around and out to the front balcony of the house.
Make a running jump to the balcony in front. Turn left and make the jump to
that next awning. Jump around to the balcony and go in the doorway.
Go through to the right passage, bypass blade stairs down, and this time go up the stairs. At the blue keyhole at top
follow the walls right, come to an open door. Go out, straight back to the
wall, and see slightly to the right the place to insert the wires. After
placing them, a raising platform overhead goes up so that Lara can reach the
zip line. Now she only needs to open a trapdoor at the end of the zip
line. Roll, go forward and climb up a
block left. Go right around the corner to face a wall lever. You might think
that Lara will be back here in a short time, right?
First, go SE, to stairs on the left side that go down. At the bottom go straight toward a door, and see the swipe card reader
on the right side. Use the Code Card here. The door opens, Lara enters, but one
of those Mafioso tries to trap Lara inside by closing the door. Shoot him. Pick
up 2x large medipack, use the wall
switch, see a trapdoor fall open—finally. If the exit
door were open, Lara would be all set to go out and use the zip line, but Lara
is trapped. To the right of the door, NE corner, open a floor trapdoor. This
goes down a ladder to the library area, and you may remember that Lara was at
the bottom of this ages ago. There doesn't seem any
other way out.
Drop/grab down the ladder. Crawl out beside the harp, and take a right
to return to the house entryway. Do the same routine as before to get up. Go
left up the stairs, around to the front balcony, etc., awning jumps, blah blah,
lit wall torch area, up the stairs, right at blue keyhole, follow right and out
the door. See where Lara placed the wires. Go right and climb up. Go right
around the corner to face a wall lever at last.
[A note on creating a shortcut from the level author. Before throwing the wall lever, Lara can once again go SE, to stairs on
the left side that go down. At the bottom go straight toward a door, and see
the swipe card reader on the right side. Stand on the square for the swipe card
reader. The door opens, allowing access to a ladder. Now Lara can turn around
and go back to the wall lever.]
Save the game. Throw the wall lever, hop back, jump up on the roof in
front of the wall lever, run up to its peak and jump with a right curve (may
need to use Ctrl) to a trapdoor that extends out from the backside of the
pillar ahead. Try to land on the left side of the trapdoor. Turn left to face
south, and jump straight up to grab the ramp overhead, pull up. Lara can jump
and pull up left here. Or if Lara runs up to the top of the ramp, then don't pull
up, but jump up from the ramp to the ledge.
Go NE and jump to a raising platform by the zip line. Ride the zip line
to its end, release, hop back to grab, go down the ladder through an open
trapdoor. At the bottom pick up the second Rose Jewel. Roll and go press a button to open the
door. Come out beside the gondola, so go over into the entrance of the house.
[If you followed the author’s suggestion two paragraphs up, Lara can now
go into the library left, and left into the low corner crawlspace to take the
ladder up, and now the door at top will be open. Exit the room and go left (W).
If the double doors are open, Lara can go straight in and place the Rose Jewels
on either side of dark doors. Skip to next paragraph.] If Lara did not create a
shortcut, then take the same old route up. Balcony jump to awning, awning jump
to balcony, take the stairs up to blue keyhole, but this time take the left
corridor going south. To left there are double doors which open to the outside.
To right (W), find dark doors, and places for the Rose Jewels
on either side.
Enter once the doors are open, and gunmen come from left and right rear
alcoves. Shoot them. Get Uzi clips, large medipack, pistol
clips, and Mask Piece 2 on the
left side of the room. On the right side of the room get shotgun shells, M-16
clips, and Mask Piece 1. Climb
up in a high opening at the back of the room and go left for 2x M-16 clips, and then farther in the corner 2x M-16 clips. Return to the candle strewn area.
Combine the mask pieces to get Madam's Mask.
Lara may want to have the grenade gun handy. Facing west, place the mask in the
holder in the room center.
See a flyby in which Lara is mobbed. Wait for the screen to go to full
height, meaning the flyby is over and save the game. Feed Lara a
medipack while she runs to a back alcove where one of those gunmen came out
when Lara first entered this room. Get into the alcove with Lara's back against
the wall and start firing grenades. Watch the health bar, but soon it will stop
going down, and Lara should be secure. The grenades wipe out all the bad guys
within a few seconds.
Madam is left hurling bolts. But she is much as a demigod, so Lara can
run up to her and crouch, and the blue bolts will go harmlessly over Lara's
head. In my game, Lara used pistols, about 300 rounds, to dispose of Madam.
Then Lara is mobbed by three or four Mafiosi. Press “Esc” for inventory,
in order to check ammo. Lara had used up all normal grenade ammo, but something
called one-touch grenade ammo was left. Use that to wipe out all Mafiosi. At
the back of the room, in the alcove right, see three Code Cards. Lara picks up one on the first tile, two on
the second tile, and one from the third tile, so there are a total of four code
cards.
Pull up into one of the two high openings in the back of the room. Go
