BLACK PHOENIX (Demo)

After the flyby, an unusually beefy Lara (gender identity issues perhaps?) begins in her foyer at the foot of the stairs.  Run ahead past the stairs toward the dining room and turn left into the kitchen.  Pull down the E wall switch to open the freezer door.  Enter and find a crawl space in the back corner that leads to a dark room where you'll find the EYE PIECE.  Exit the kitchen and cross over N into the pool room.  Note the closed underwater doors in the W wall.  There's nothing to do here now, so go to the dining room N and look around.  The large jugs are empty, so return to the living room and go upstairs.

In no particular order, open the left door in the S wall and enter the bathroom.  Nothing there, so open the other door in the S wall and enter a den/bedroom.  Finally, something to do.  Pull the block from the N wall, enter the alcove and pull down the wall switch for a flyby indicating that a door has opened downstairs.  Go there and enter the NE trophy room.  More empty jugs.  Open the five chests on the ledge.  Each time Lara appears to take something out, but when you check your inventory you find that nothing has been added.  Go through the N crawl space into a room with 2 x uzi ammo, shotgun ammo, the SHOTGUN, the GRENADE GUN, grenades, revolver ammo, the REVOLVER, 3 x flares, a large medipack and a small medipack (crawl in to get this last item).

Exit to the foyer and go to the top of the stairs.  Use the crate to jump from the first chandelier to the second, and from there onto the E balcony.  Push the floor lever to open a gate outdoors.  Jump over the balcony railing, go back upstairs, and this time turn right to open the door on the left in the N wall.  Enter an aquarium and enjoy the view.  Then turn left and enter a bedroom for a large medipack on a crate.  Get on the other crate, jump up to shoot the barrier, and crawl in.  Drop down the other side and push the floor lever to open an underwater door in the swimming pool downstairs.  Go there, swim along the passage and grab the EYE PIECE.

Leave the pool, go back upstairs and open the door on the right in the N wall.  Enter the den and find that you have an opening to the outdoor balcony.  First, however, climb the ladder in the fireplace and back flip into a room with a receptacle and a floor lever.  Push the latter to open the front door downstairs.  Combine the two Eye Pieces to form the EYE OF HORUS and place it in the receptacle.  The gate to your left opens, so enter a room filled with Egyptian memorabilia and find the HAND OF ORION on a crate.  You can take a swim with the marine life if you'd like to kill a little time.  Otherwise, exit the house either through the front door or by jumping over the balcony railing in the fireplace room and approach the SE gates to open them.

Go to the open hedge gate (near the horse statue) and enter the maze area. There's a gem receptacle in NE corner to open a trap door.  Use the Hand of Orion there, drop down and pick up the SILVER KEY.  Exit the maze S, cross over to the closed gate and use the Silver Key to open it.  The quad bike is there for the taking, but before using it go back to where you jumped down from the balcony (note a red key in the nearby gated enclosure) and follow the obstacle course W (noting a high floor lever above a steep blue ramp along the way).  Turn left at the corner and find a slope facing a column.

Back flip onto the slope and jump off to land on top of the column.  Turn around and jump to the floor lever.  Push it to open the gate leading to the RED KEY you saw earlier.  Go back there and pick it up.  If you like, you can finish the level prematurely by opening the E gate now.  Otherwise, if you'd like to take a joy ride on the quad bike, there are two ways to get to it.  You can either retrace your steps or use a method probably not intended by the builder: Return to the slope and jump back to the top of the column.  Take a running jump SW with control and glide into the opening.  Monkey swing S and drop at the next opening.  Make your way to the far end, where you'll find a closed S gate.  However, just pull up onto the wall and hop down into a hedged area.  Approach the gate from this side and it will open.

Make your way to the NE end of this area and mount the quad bike.  Drive along the course (your route is forced) until you reach a ramp leading underground.  You don't really need the quad bike to progress, but you can use it to break the many barriers you'll encounter down here.  Besides, it's faster than walking.  There's no reverse, however, so keep that in mind.  The hilly section branches off so that one way (S and long) brings you to a pit and a dead end, the other (N and short) leads to another ramp that brings you back to the hedge area.  Go that way and follow the route to the exit gates.  You may as well dismount here, as you'll come to a dead end soon if you continue driving.

Jump back to the opening and use the monkey bars to reach the N side of the obstacle course.  Proceed on foot to the E gate and use the Red Key to open it.  Run forward and veer right to end the level.
