[NOTE]: This level is very dark, so to properly play it I needed to increase the bright and the gamma settings of my graphics card. [End note]

 

 

TOMB OF SETH

 

First Secret

 

Pick up the flares in the E side of the cave and more flares in the W side. To get extra pickups climb the rocks in the NW corner of the grated floor, drop into the nearby hole and pick up a small medipack. Get out and to get the first secret don’t drop to the floor but turn right and take a running jump over the N slope and go through the opening to your right to get the SECRET #1: desert eagle ammo. Go back out and follow the N passage to a wider cave.

 

The Torch

 

Shoot three small scorpions and climb the protruding rock attached to the E wall, turn right and jump onto the S ledge to get shotgun shells; back to the protruding rock take a running jump to grab the edge of the opening in the N wall and pull up to get a small medipack. Now go down the E ramp and if you approach to the closed door you’ll trigger a flyby; it seems that you need a torch to open it so climb the block in front of the door and take a running jump S to grab the edge of the big slope, shimmy left and around the corner until you can pull up. Advance S but beware of the quicksand, take a running jump over the darker part of the floor from the left side and continue through the opening and down the small ramp to a room with several small scorpions and a floor lever; pull it to open the nearby door and slide down the next ramp to find yourself in the starting area; now the corpse has disappeared and the S door is open so let’s go there to get the TORCH at the end of the corridor.

 

Lighting the Torch

 

Go back to the N cave, drop the torch where you can find it later and shoot a couple of hell-hounds,  remember where you left the torch and this time go through the opening in the N wall; the door is closed but you can reach a hole in the ceiling of the corridor and continue to the next room. The door automatically opens and a hell-hound is alerted; pick up the flares next to the open door and go through the W passage, pull up onto the slope to your right and jump back to land onto the higher N opening, pull the floor lever and watch the cut scene. Now go back to the previous cave, take back the torch and light it in the burning oil (don’t approach too much); back to the bigger cave go E and use the torch to open the door.

 

Second Secret

 

To get the next secret in the next cave go left and climb the nearby tall block attached to the S wall (from the very left side, use the Ctrl and up arrow keys) shoot the small scorpion and turn left to drop/grab the edge drop/slide/grab the edge of the slope below, shimmy right, pull up and jump to the opening to get the SECRET #2: a large medipack.

 

Saving the Deep Pit

 

Back to the cave go N and shoot several small scorpions and a hell-hound; in the holes near the NW corner pick up flares and a small medipack. Run up the nearby ramp and from the top take a running jump to the top of the SE pillar, from here take a standing jump to grab the edge of the SE ledge, pull up and slide down the ramp; you are now at the other side of the deep pit. Advance E, slide down the next ramp and pick up the DESERT EAGLE next to the skeleton, safety drop through the nearby hole (facing S) and after the flyby slide down the ramp backwards, grab the edge at the end, shimmy left or right to avoid the fire below, drop/slide/grab the next edge and safety drop to ground floor.

 

Room with the Deep Pit

 

Shoot several small scorpions and go to the back of the pillar under the ramp you came from (E side), turn right and jump onto the triangular ledge attached to the N wall, jump to grab the edge of the high crawlspace (from the very right side, use the Ctrl and up arrow keys) and advance to find a room with a deep pit. If you are interested in secrets continue reading this paragraph, if not go to (*). From the entrance tile take a tricky running jump S-SE with a hard left curve to land onto the block in the dark SW corner of this room, jump to the S opening and continue to drop into a bigger cave. Go to the N side of the cave, climb the blocks to get the SECRET #3: shotgun shells and uzi clips and safety drop into the corridor with the floor lever losing some health. Pull the floor lever to open doors in the main cave and time the trapdoor to take a running jump and go back to the entrance ledge. Go back to the main cave the way you came.

 

(*)Wait a bit and the trapdoor at the other side will raise, take a running jump to grab it but don’t delay so much because the trapdoor will go down and up intermittently every few seconds; pull the floor lever to open doors in the main cave and time the trapdoor to take a running jump and go back to the entrance ledge. Go back to the main cave the way you came.

 

First Eye Piece

 

Now go W and N, to the room where you’ll place the eye of Horus later. Don’t enter now (you don’t have the eye yet) but jump to the right side between the arch and the slope to get a small medipack. Above there are the openings with the doors you opened with the last floor lever; you can easily reach those openings from the ledges in the left (sandy mound) and right sides of the arch, so after I picked up the small medipack, I climbed the nearby ledge and jumped to reach the opening in the right side of the arch.

 

From the end of the corridor turn right and take a running jump to grab the W ladder, climb to the top, pull up and take a backflip with twist to grab the edge of the opening at your back, pick up the uzi clips and safety drop to ground floor. Climb the opening in the N wall and run to the trigger tile at the end of the corridor to lower a trapdoor somewhere. Go back to the first part of this corridor (the entrance opening) and take a standing jump E-SE to grab the high E ladder, climb almost to the top (this time Lara can climb over tilted surfaces) and continue grabbing the monkeyswing and another tilted surface until Lara can pull up into an opening to get the first EYE PIECE. Climb the ladder in the corner and slide down the first ramp jump in last moment to grab the edge of the ledge above, pull up and get the SECRET #4: a small medipack and desert eagle ammo. Drop down and slide the next ramp to get back to the main cave.

 

Second Eye Piece

 

After you drop from the opening you can take a running jump to the top of the arch and pick up the flares if you want; anyway jump and climb the opening to the left of this arch. Again several timed trapdoors going up and down so make your way to jump onto the trapdoors when they are up (two standing jumps and a last running jump to the third one) and finally jump to the ledge with the second EYE PIECE. Time the jumps again onto the same trapdoors to get back to the main cave (this time you can’t use the first trapdoor near the exit, so take a long running jump from the middle one to grab the edge of the opening).

 

The Timeless Sands

 

Now you can cross the arch, shoot the small scorpions and combine the pieces to form the EYE OF HORUS; use it to open the big door. From the bottom of the first slope jump over it when the first set of spikes go down, run to the bottom of the next slope, jump again almost without stop and when you are near the ladder take a sidejump left or right onto the sloped parts to avoid the rolling boulder. Climb up the ladder, continue sliding and jumping over the next set of spikes and slide again to finally get the TIMELESS SANDS. The nearby trapdoor opens so you can go back to the main cave.

 

Quicksand Area

 

Now go in a SW direction to an area with quicksand (in the W side of the cave). To get some extra pickups don’t cross the quicksand yet, but look for a ladder in the left side of the big head (S wall), climb it, shoot the small scorpions, turn around and jump NW to that stone bridge, pick up a small medipack, flares, shoot more small scorpions and go back down to the sandy area. To cross this dangerous trap, from the right side (facing W) use the binoculars with light to study the sandy tiles: when you see the sand moves in a tile, it’s deadly, but when you spot a tile without movement it’s safe. So repeat this trick several times until you reach the other side of the swamp; at the end jump onto the slope and jump again to the top of the safe block.

 

Opening the Last Door

 

Jump to the rock with the large medipack and continue up the tricky ramp to the very top, climb up the ladder and crawl in the corridor to avoid the darts; when you reach a dead end turn around and climb the next ladder, avoid the next darts and soon you’ll reach an outside area with two small scorpions (poisonous). Go to the end of the rocky path and from the left corner take a long running jump to the top of the big head, trying to not land in the very center to avoid the nasty rolling boulder; climb the ledge, slide, pick up the flares and pull the floor lever to open a door somewhere. To get the last secret exit from the E side, slide down to the bottom, shoot the small scorpion and get the SECRET #5: a large medipack and desert eagle ammo.

 

Using the Timeless Sands

 

Climb the N block, safety slide to ground floor and climb the stone structure in front of you, to the top of the rocky arch and in the SE corner is the door you opened moments ago; take a running jump there and go through the black corridor to a sandy room where you can use the Timeless Sands. Save your game and place the artifact: the room collapses but don’t touch any key because you soon will land on a flat rock; now jump to the right side of the ramp (facing N) and near the end jump to a safe ledge attached to the W wall, continue jumping to the next rocks until you reach a niche in the corner, turn around and take a standing jump to grab the ladder, climb up to the top and advance to the closed door which automatically opens, drop to the main cave, pick up the flares and shoot three hell-hounds.

 

Into the Big Head

 

Now go to the arch at the entrance of the room where you placed the Eye of Horus time ago, climb to the top of this arch and take a running jump S to grab the rope, swing to land onto the top of the big mouth, slide and grab the edge of the slope; this time you can’t drop and grab the edge below so you are forced to do the trick: pull up, drop and when Lara’s hands have gone over the edge, quickly press the “Ctrl” key and she will land into the mouth. Go through the crawlspace to the very end and drop into the dark hole to finish the level.
