ARCHANGEL'S PATH (Demo)

The builder has provided his own video walk (which I have elected to follow, although there are slight differences between the version he used and the present download), as have Doggett TV and kapil4417037.

 

 

Run forward down the street, note the large pavilion to your right and look left to see some steps. Go up the steps to a closed door, turn around, jump up to grab the ceiling and monkey swing E along the not-so-well defined track until you can see a crawl space off to your left. Go there, drop, grab and pull up into a duct. Drop down the other side and push the wall button (wrong animation) for a remote cut scene. Return to the street, run N past the large building housing the gun shop (for later) and look right to see a pool with steps on either side.

 

Go up to the top where you see a block from which the water is flowing. Treat the block as a reach-in switch to drain the pool. Go down, drop into the dry pool and crawl in W. Hang from the other side and drop down a long distance into a sewer. Pull out S for flares and move the crate two times W so you can use it to access a high crawl space. Get in, drop down the other side into a water hole and see the crocodile circling around below.

 

Swim down past the croc toward the left (NW) corner and up into the ceiling hole. Pull out into another part of the sewer and locate the ladder in the E wall. Climb up to the top, shift left and drop down onto a metal walkway. Follow around counterclockwise, jumping as necessary, until you reach the wall button at the SE corner. Push it to flood the area and also to attract the croc. Turn around to face W, jump into the water and swim straight across to find a narrow opening high in the wall. Go through and down, then up, continue in like manner until you're able to surface and pull out S into a passage.

 

Make your way S, climb a couple of blocks and beware of the spike pit just after the second block. Jump up to grab the ceiling and monkey swing across the pit, drop down and safety drop S into a lower passage. Follow to the W ladder, climb up to a higher passage and pull up into the S crawl space. Crawl to a storage room with multiple shelves and find the STRANGE AMULET (or what appears to be half of it, anyway) near the SE corner. Climb the nearby S ladder and back flip to an upper room.

 

When you approach the N door there's the sound of an explosion and the door opens. Go on through to the beginning street area, run N past the gun shop building and turn right toward the drained pool. Go up to the reach-in block, turn right into a partially blocked alley and go down to find a pushblock. Push it aside to reveal a floor crawl space, enter and drop down the other side into a small room. Pull up into the window, grab the STORAGE KEY and use the NE pushblock to get back out. You can return to the street area the way you came, or you can continue S along the alley, emerge at the pavilion you saw when you began the level, and turn right to get back to the street.

 

There's a closed E door to the gun shop within the covered archway, but you can go to the alcove to its left and use the Storage Key to open the door there. As you run down the steps the door closes behind you, so continue into a warehouse and get down to the floor. Move the pushblock against the N wall (1 of 4) two times E and two times S. Get up on it and pull the higher pushblock (2 of 4) one time E. Go to the pushblock in the SW corner (3 of 4) and move it two times N and four times E. Finally, move the final pushblock (4 of 4) two times E next to the third pushblock. Move the higher pushblock three times S so you can use it to reach the high crawl space in the S wall. But first, get down and move the third pushblock around to the other side of the fourth pushblock, against the S wall beneath the crawl space (the reason for this will become apparent soon). 

 

Jump to grab the crawl space, pull inside and take the left path for a large medipack. Go the other way and follow to a ceiling hole that you can pull through to enter the gun shop. Stoop to grab the grenades next to the table, help yourself to the SHOTGUN, the PISTOLS and shotgun ammo on the raised slab, then shoot the larger crate for the UZIS and uzi ammo. The smaller crates hide 2 x shotgun ammo. The grenade gun seems to be missing, so return to the warehouse and prepare to deal with the waiting dog (from the vantage point of the pushblock you moved earlier).

 

Use the first pushblock to reach the E ledge above the row of barrels, pull up, you'll hear a brief explosion and the door in front of you will open automatically. Shoot the dog inside the next room, one you visited earlier, and use the pushblock to exit via the E crawl space. Go left up the steps toward the drained pool and turn around to shoot another pursuing dog.   Go E past the reach-in block and hop down to a lower area with an uneven dirt floor. Shoot the small crates near the NE corner for shotgun ammo and a small medipack. Run S past the palm trees, pull out of this lower area and run forward past the S opening.

 

Just past the two metal crates on your right is a dark alley with a small medipack at the end (stoop to pick it up). Exit, continue S a few steps and turn right into a dark area where you'll find a timed jump switch on the back side of the nearest column. Activate it to open up a crawl space directly overhead and head back N to shoot an advancing dog so you won't be bothered by it during the upcoming timed run. Wait for the jump switch to reset, save your game and activate it once again.

 

Run around the column, turn left and sprint N past the opening and alongside the lower area with the uneven dirt floor and jump onto the wooden ramp near the NW corner. Continue with a running jump onto the NE column, turn and from the back corner take a running jump onto the SE slope, slide a bit and jump onto the flat column. Take standing jumps SW to the next two columns, followed by a running jump and grab to the S ledge. Pull up and take a running jump SW onto the column against the next building, take a running jump and grab to the S balcony, pull up and do the same to the next balcony. Hop S over the railing and run up the slope to the timed crawl space.

 

Get inside quickly before the timed grate drops back down and crawl until you can stand up inside the duct. Hop over the gap, run forward into the dark area for a small medipack and climb down the ladder to drop into an indoor office. Find the GUARDIAN STAR on the SW raised slab and a small medipack in the NE corner. The E door opens upon your approach, so go on through to a familiar area. Step out into the alley, turn right and go through the S doorway onto a dark courtyard. There's nothing to do or find in the darkness, so turn right and run W down the steps to the pavilion.

 

Continue straight past the dry fountain toward the arch and find the receptacle for the Guardian Star. Note the empty statue base off to your right, insert the Guardian Star and a helix appears on the statue base along with a sword-wielding and bolt-tossing Roman warrior. Wait for the warrior to step outside his protective helix, get up close so you can weaken him with shotgun blasts and eventually he will succumb. When he finishes his death throes he'll drop down and leave behind the STRANGE EYE. Combine it with the Strange Amulet to form ARCHANGEL'S EYE and go W to the street.

 

Turn right and follow the street N to the dry pool you navigated earlier. Drop down inside and crawl W. Hang and drop from the other side into the sewer far below. Pull out S and move the pushblock back along the ledge so you can use it to jump E over the grated fence. Pull S out of the water, pull the pushblock E and get on it to jump onto the higher corner block. Take a running jump NE onto the slope, slide down to the next section of the sewer and shoot two waiting crocodiles. Run down the NW alley for a large medipack, return and go through the SE opening toward the steps as Lara's theme music plays. Continue through the S doorway and insert Archangel's Eye to open the next door. Run forward to finish the level.
