THE INFADA CULT

Consult the builder’s readme for information regarding gamma adjustment, operation of the motorboat (third level) and the locations of the 12 secrets, among other things. Also, the builder has pointed out that various weapons can be found in more than one place. However, once you've acquired that weapon you'll get only ammo for it if you happen to come across it later in the game.

 

 

Level 1: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE

 

Begin standing on a tiny island surrounded by a jungle lake. Turn around and enter the tent for shotgun ammo. On the right side of the tent is a small medipack. Jump into the water, being mindful of the school of piranha swimming nearby that are dangerous but fairly easy to avoid. Search the blocks and ledges on the lake floor for 2 x flares, a small medipack, uzi ammo, shotgun ammo and harpoons, return for air and swim through the opening. Follow the passage around to a submerged room and continue to the far left corner to find shotgun ammo behind a column. Return to the central slab and pick up the SHIVA KEY, go back to the lake for air and pull back onto the island if necessary to avoid the piranha.

 

Facing the tent, jump back into the water to the left of the tent and find a narrow channel in the back corner of the lake. Follow around, surface and pull out into an underground cavern. Run forward past the hanging vines to find the receptacle for the Shiva Key. Use it to open the nearby door and go on in to attract a hostile monkey. Enter the small building through the opening on your right and search the side ledges for 2 x shotgun ammo. Grab the flares in front of the closed door and pull the pushblock from the corner onto a trigger tile that opens the door. Climb the ladder, back flip into an upper passage and hop onto the adjacent ledge for the SHOTGUN and more shotgun ammo. Safety drop to the floor, exit the building and loop around right past the tree to find an opening in the back corner.

 

Jump with grab a bit to your right over the spear trap into an opening that leads to a jungle clearing and shoot the approaching tiger. There are several ways to go from here, but for now turn left and approach what appears to be an ancient storage facility. Enter to your right, pick up the shotgun ammo and follow around counterclockwise for more shotgun ammo and flares on the ledges while noting for later the side opening that leads to a closed door. Go back the way you came, toward the slain tiger and past it through an opening that takes you around to another lake. Jump into the water, loop right around the island and search the lake floor for 2 x shotgun ammo, swim into the passage to the left of the waterfall and stay right for more shotgun ammo and harpoons a bit further on. Surface here and wade out onto a rocky shore.

 

Jump up to a cleft in the rock wall and continue with a running jump onto the green ledge ahead. Pick up the small medipack and walk forward to the end of the ledge. Turn right and take a running jump toward the opening. Walk forward to trigger the chimes of SECRET #1 and turn right to see two wall switches. Pull both down for cut scenes showing two doors opening, return to the water and jump in. Loop around left into a passage near a closed door, follow to a small lake and pick up the small medipack on the closed floor trap door. Surface, paddle toward the waterfall and pull up onto the ramp to your right for flares. Take a running jump and grab across the water and pull up onto the block for more flares. Take a running jump to the adjacent ledge for shotgun ammo. Jump into the water toward the waterfall and pull up left in front of an opening.

 

Run forward and climb the ladder to a higher passage leading to another lake. Jump into the water and swim around left until you can wade out and pick up 2 x shotgun ammo, a large medipack and uzi ammo in the knee-deep water. Go to the opening overlooking the familiar piranha-infested river below and dive in. Swim straight forward into the narrower opening a bit to your left, loop around left into the passage and continue past the opened door into a lake area you explored earlier. Pull up onto the ramp where you found the flares, take a running jump across the water to grab the block, pull up, jump to the adjacent ledge and follow the ramp up to an opening near the wall switches you pulled down earlier. Slide down the slope, jump near the bottom to grab the block, pull up and follow to an opening. Take a running jump over the water, grab the block and pull up in front of an opening.

 

Run up the dark sloped passage until you emerge on a ledge. Take a running jump to land on a tree limb in front of shotgun ammo, turn left and run off the limb to land near the trunk. Run forward past the hanging vines to an indoor pool, jump over to the cascading water for more shotgun ammo and jump into the pool. Search the corners for 2 x shotgun ammo, pull out onto the ledge opposite the cascading water and find yet more shotgun ammo in the corner. Find the gap between the huge columns and make your way up to a boulder resting in a corner hope. Jump up to grab the nearby monkey bars and monkey swing away from the boulder to the other side of the pool room. Drop down and turn left through the opening. Follow the passage to a pushblock and pull it once onto a trigger tile that releases the boulder and causes it to roll down and knock a hole in the wall.

 

Return to the previous room, enter the corner area made accessible by the boulder, face the boulder and jump up to grab the ladder in the ceiling shaft. Climb up to a passage leading to a wall switch that drops a block in the pool room. Return there, use the block on the other side of the pool to reach the dropped block, turn left and take a running jump to grab the top of the waterfall. Pull up and deal with the attacking tiger. Run forward through the cascading wall of water, swim down for the nearby harpoons and search the weeds in the alcove for a large medipack and shotgun ammo. Pull out into the opening to the left of the one you entered by, wade out to the end of the ledge and take a running jump to grab the limb occupied by a friendly monkey. Pull up for uzi ammo and jump from the end of this limb to grab the limb of the next tree.

 

Pull up, pick up the flares and follow the limb to the right for shotgun ammo. Find the nearby opening and hop down next to a wall switch that lowers the trap door to your left (for later). Hop back up to the limb, turn right and go past the hanging vines, take a running jump down to the tree limb and turn right. Take a running jump curving left to land on a limb between the tree and the wall for a small medipack. Slide down into the water, swim over toward the small waterfall and wade out. Turn the corner and come to an open area featuring an impressive temple. Before entering this area, turn around and jump up onto the nearby ramp for shotgun ammo. Approach the temple and look to your right in the corner for more shotgun ammo. In the near left corner is uzi ammo, and you can loop around into an alcove behind the temple for yet more shotgun ammo. Note the nearby closed door overhead, exit the temple area and run straight ahead past the entrance to the left of the waterfall and look to your right for a block with shotgun ammo. Continue up the hill, go around to the left of the trees and find flares up in a corner. Look down to your right and you can see more shotgun ammo next to the jungle wall. Get it and continue up the hill past a vine-covered opening that leads to another temple. Quickly grab the small medipack to your right before the monkey can steal it. Stay right, hop up for flares and continue around until you reach the corner of the temple where you’ll find MP5 clips next to a pile of rubble. Go to the other corner for flares and light one of them to see that the left panel is a pushblock.

 

Push the block two times to reveal an opening, hop over the spear trap to your left and hop backwards into the tunnel ahead. When you hear action music, run forward and to the right to avoid the triggered boulder. After it rumbles by, re-enter the tunnel and pull down the wall switch at the end to open a nearby door, but not the one to your immediate left. To get there will require a circuitous route, so exit this temple area (being sure to jump back over the spear trap), run down the hill past the trees, loop around right when you’ve passed the last tree and go up the sloped passage to reach the opened door. Hop down into the shallow water, walk forward to the edge and look left to see an opening in the wall. Take a running jump and grab, pull up into a room with two additional openings and follow the one to your left.

 

Face the trees and take a running jump curving right to land on a jutting limb. Go to the other end, turn left and take a running jump to grab the next limb. Pull up, reverse roll and take a running jump slightly to your right, using the grab key so you’ll glide into a vine-covered opening for SECRET #2. Proceed into a room beneath the one you explored a bit earlier, note the wall switch in the alcove to your left and go the opening in the back corner. Walk carefully to the edge and take a running jump onto a tree limb. Take a rather precise jump to the next limb to your right for the UZIS and continue with a jump under the zip line for uzi ammo and shotgun ammo on the next limb. Go back the way you came to the secret room and pull down the wall switch in the alcove to open the nearby trap door.

 

Pull up into the higher room you visited earlier and go through the corner opening on the right. Go around and take that curved running jump onto the tree limb, go to the other end and jump to grab the next tree limb as you did earlier, but when you pull up this time, take a running jump a bit to your left onto the limb extending from the wall. Face the wall and take a running jump into a vine-obscured opening higher up to your right. Follow around to a closed door and continue past a fence to an opening. Hop down left onto a ledge and shoot the tiger that’s charging toward you. Go through the first opening to your left and pull down the wall switch to open the door behind you. Don’t go through yet, but instead run along the ledge to the last (fourth) opening on your left, hop up the slope and run up the ramp to a new temple area in shallow water.

 

Enter the temple and take the SHIVA KEY from the central slab. Continue toward the zip line you can see ahead, but before using it slide down the limb to the right of it and pick up the shotgun ammo. Hop back up, save your game and ride the zip line down past several limb remnants and release to land on a much larger branch. Side flip left upon landing (better to deal with the waiting tiger) and go to the other end of this long branch through an opening. Turn around, lower Lara down through the crawl space and release to land on a lower limb. Turn around, save your game and line up for a running jump just to the left of the tree ahead. Hopefully you’ll land on a flat spot next to the trunk. Otherwise, reload and try again. Hop forward onto the ledge for SECRET #3 and follow around to the raised corner. Jump over to the smaller archway on your right and pull down the wall switch to hear the sound of a rising platform. Safety drop from the foliage side and step forward for some uzi ammo. Turn around, walk down left as far as you can and jump to a flat spot near the ladder. Hop up into the alcove for uzi ammo and shotgun ammo, then climb the ladder and shift left to drop down into the larger archway.         

 

Turn right to face the tree, jump onto the jutting limb and turn around to jump back to the alcove with the wall switch. Continue in the same general direction with a running jump onto the raised platform, hop over to the jutting ledge and take a running jump ahead into the higher opening in the wall. Pull up onto a familiar tree limb, run underneath the zip line just past the tree to your right and turn to face it. Jump down to the flat spot to the left of the trunk and pick up the flares. Turn back to your left and jump into the alcove in the temple. Follow to a nearby wall switch that opens a trap door. The opening behind you has a ladder leading downward, but ignore it and continue around the periphery of the ledge to find a small medipack in a window alcove. Go through the vine-covered opening for flares and look out to see the first temple area you visited much earlier. 

 

Jump through the cleft separating the tree and the wall to land on a corner ledge. Jump from there to the temple ledge and shoot the monkey if it grabs the SHIVA KEY before you can get to it. Go past the vine-covered opening and loop around left to find a wall switch that opens the gate you noted earlier. You’re not yet ready to leave, however. Go back up and take the opening to your left at the crossing. Drop down to engage two tigers whose snarls you’ve undoubtedly been hearing and look for two raised slabs next to a column. When you stand on either of them you get a remote camera shot, but this has no apparent significance in the game. Nearby are receptacles for your two Shiva Keys. Use them to lift the large gate and step on through to finish the level.     

 

Level 2: THE SHIVA TEMPLE

 

Slide down into a passage, go around the corner, save and slide down a second slope. A boulder is triggered on your way down, so jump several times with a left curve to get out of its path and take a rather precise jump near the bottom to grab the ledge ahead lest you fall into some quicksand. Pull up and follow to an open area. Hop up left for a small medipack and go the edge of a deep pit. Hop up right, pull up higher and crawl into the opening to a room with a number of pushblocks. Two are in the back wall, so pull both once to form a bridge, get up and pull a third one from the wall. Use this upper block to access an outdoor area featuring colorful and ghostly Shiva statues. Go around and step on a trap door to drop Lara onto a slope. Slide, grab and safety drop onto raised platforms that now span the chasm you noted earlier.

 

Jump over to the darker area on your right and follow the passage to another open area down below. Don’t go all the way down, but await the arrival of a lizard mutant so you can shoot it from the safety of your higher perch. Note the wooden bridge ahead, go down and look to your right for harpoons. Continue underneath the bridge and come to another bridge overlooking a river with a scenic waterfall. Go across the bridge to alert a second lizard mutant and grab the uzi ammo on the other side. Note: In my game, when I proceeded through the tunnel on the right, Lara inexplicably died upon reaching the bridge on that side. When I reloaded from my previous savegame (at an earlier point in the level), she would die immediately, forcing me to replay from an even earlier savegame in a different slot. This apparently has not been experienced by anyone else, so I mention it only as a matter of interest. Take the tunnel to your left and slide down to a mine cart with shotgun ammo on a nearby raised slab. Go back up to the tunnel and return to the bridge. 

 

Jump into the water below and avoid the piranha while searching the nearby river floor for harpoons, shotgun ammo, a small medipack and the HARPOON GUN on a block. Continue past the block to find 2 x flares, shotgun ammo and another small medipack in the next area, locate the opening near some underwater steps and swim into a small room with a raised slab. Pick up the BRONZE KEY, alerting two crocodiles, and beat a hasty retreat to the open area where you can swim to your left and pull out near the waterfall. Hop up to the nearby opening and follow around to another opening in the rock wall. From here you can take a running jump and grab the central ledge. Pull up and turn left to locate a wall opening that was too high to reach from the water. Take a running jump and grab the edge, pull up and go around to the next opening.

 

Take a running jump to land next to a tree, turn left into the opening and come to an underground area with swinging flame pots. Jump into the water for uzi ammo, pull out near the left corner and work your way past the first two pots. The second pool has flares, and it’s a simple matter to pull out and evade the third flaming pot. From the opening, jump across to a flat spot between the waterfall and the tree and jump to the next flat spot ahead. Follow the passage to a flameblower and time a running jump into the upper passage. Pull down the wall switch to open the trap door to your left, but continue along the passage to a second flameblower. Time a jump past it into the higher passage, turn around and locate the ladder. Jump up to grab it, climb and back flip near the top to land on a flat spot. Climb over the block and drop down into an underground tunnel near a familiar bridge.

 

This time, when I went past the bridge to the hazardous area noted earlier, I experienced nothing of a harmful nature. You’ll come to a second bridge. Go halfway across, turn right and take a running jump to grab the opening just past the waterfall. Pull up and follow to a room with flares, shotgun ammo and a receptacle for the Bronze Key that opens the ceiling trap door behind you. Locate the ladder in the ceiling shaft and climb to an upper room. Ignore the opening on your right and hop backwards into the passage to your left to trigger a boulder and a flameblower. Reverse roll and run back, turning right just in front of the opening to avoid both hazards as the boulder rolls by and into the water below. Re-enter the boulder passage and follow past a closed door to an alcove with flares. Pull up into the opposite alcove for MP5 clips. Get back down, hop into the dark opening and slide down two slopes to land near a pool.

 

Jump into the water for shotgun ammo, swim into the narrow opening just below the bridge and continue down and along the lower passage, pausing for more shotgun ammo before swimming up to find a timed underwater lever that opens a door on the other side of the bridge. Swim quickly back to the bridge, pull up and run past the timed door to face your next menace in the room ahead. A Shiva statue comes to life and steps out of the flames. When it dies it leaves behind the RIGHT SHIVA SWORD. Go around the room to collect 2 x shotgun ammo, note the ladder near the archway and climb up into an opening that leads to an upper room. Pick up the shotgun ammo and step into the alcove for a screen shot of a key you need to acquire. Enter the side room and pull down the wall switch to open a door beyond the archway in the Shiva room down below.

 

Get back down and go past the opened door into what appears to be an atrium. Go up the ramp in the opening to your left (watch out for the spike pit near the entrance) to trigger a boulder and two flameblowers. Put the same evasive skills you used earlier to work and jump to the right or left of the spike pit as the boulder falls into it. Re-enter the opening and pull down the wall switch at the top of the ramp to open another nearby door. Exit to the atrium and run forward to the tree. Turn left past the opened door and hear the sound of platforms rising and falling. When you go through the small building to the next hub area you’ll be attacked by a lizard mutant. Hop down and look for flares near the back wall to the left of the steps and shotgun ammo next to a bush at the near left corner. Not far from that bush is an alcove with a wall switch that lifts a timed platform not far away.

 

Reverse roll, exit the alcove and turn left. Pull up onto a moss-covered block and step forward to pull up higher onto a ledge (there’s a small medipack here that you can get on your return trip). Turn to your left and jump past the vision-obscuring vines to grab a slope. Shimmy left to the raised platform, pull up before it drops and stand jump toward the block. Climb to another wall switch that opens a door in the new area below and get back down to engage another lizard mutant. Locate the opened door opposite the entrance through which you entered this area, go up the ramp and pause for uzi ammo in one of the side alcoves. Continue along the only possible path, grabbing shotgun ammo in another side alcove, until you emerge on a ledge overlooking the hub area.

 

Stand at the right corner and take a running jump to land on the sloped tree stump below. Slide a bit and jump off to grab a limb with the small medipack. Go to the trunk of this tree, turn left and take a running jump with a midair roll to land on the slope sliding backwards. Grab and shimmy right to the raised platform, pull up and run forward for SECRET #4. Climb the blocks and come to another opening overlooking a quicksand pit. Turn to your left and take a running jump to land inside the wall opening down below. Follow the steps to a bridge you saw earlier from the valley floor and go across into a secret area that you can explore for a large medipack, shotgun ammo and 2 x uzi ammo a bit farther on.

 

Go back across the bridge into the passage and pull down the wall switch in the alcove to open the nearby door. Step out onto the ledge, turn left and go to the opening. Take a curved running jump to land inside the opening in the wall to your left. Don’t run inside the room ahead, or you’ll fall through one of the trap doors you heard earlier from down below. Take a running jump over the trap doors to land on one of the sloped surfaces ahead, jump back and forth between the slopes while using the appropriate arrow key so you can land inside the window opening. Face the tree and take a running jump to grab the limb jutting from the trunk. Pull up, look left for uzi ammo and jump up into the wall opening to your right. Follow the ledge to a room guarded by a lizard mutant and grab the uzi ammo on the ledge to your right. Continue into the next room, note the central floor hole and search the ledges for 2 x shotgun ammo and a small medipack.

 

Go past the opening in the back wall and pick up that SILVER KEY you saw much earlier in the cut scene. Return to the floor hole, hop down and follow to a slope. Slide down backwards and safety drop to the Shiva room below. Go past the archway and use the Silver Key to open the nearby door. Enter, climb up two times to a higher passage and look for an alcove with uzi ammo and find shotgun ammo on the nearby interior ledge. Go around to the interior ledge on the other side of this room, use it to access an even higher alcove and pick up the shotgun ammo there. Get down, find the interior ledge with an opening in the latticework and jump down into the water far below. Search the floor for MP5 clips, surface and pull out at a convenient opening. Search the alcoves for 2 x shotgun ammo and uzi ammo, find the alcove with an opening that leads to a room overlooking a deep pit and follow the ledge around to MP5 clips.

 

Look down to see a sloped tree stump and stand jump to land on it. Slide to the jungle floor and engage two lizard mutants. Look for flares near the base of the central tree and search the upper areas for 2 x flares if you’re so inclined. There’s a lower opening near a corner of the glade that you can crawl into for flares and uzi ammo. To the left of this opening beyond the central tree is a much longer crawl space that brings you to more flares. Climb up past the hanging vines for a small medipack, climb up higher and follow to an opening. Hop back once from the edge and jump up to grab the monkey bars. Monkey swing past the tree to your left and drop down in front of a passage. Follow around to a ceiling hole, turn around, jump up to grab the edge and pull up into a new jungle area.

 

The upper section with the block is for later, so locate the opening in the wall to your left, save your game and slide down into a hallway where a spike wall is triggered off to your right. Quickly loop around right and push the pushblock to avoid the spikes. Go back to where the spike wall was for shotgun ammo and a large medipack, then push the block one more time and pull up left into the opening. Go to a ladder and climb up to a wall switch that opens the door beside you and drops a block in similar fashion as the one you encountered in the first level. Go out into the wooded area and up to the area in the corner you noted earlier. Climb up onto the dropped block, which enables you to reach the high wall opening with a standing jump. Go through the passage, pull up left and deal with the approaching lizard mutant. Locate the pushblock in the near wall to your left and pull it one time. Note for later the nearby wall opening with a closed door at the end. For a pickup, turn around and stand below the apex of the pointed rock. Jump up to grab a small flat spot, pull up and head right for a large medipack.

 

Drop to the ground and continue to the alcoves ahead. Search the one on the right for a small medipack hidden in a plant. Go to the nearby cleft, back flip onto the slope and jump off to grab the opening. Pull up, run forward and pull down the wall switch to open the door you noted earlier. Get down to the pushblock and use it to access the higher wall opening. Enter the passage and follow to a ledge. Pull up to find the GOLD KEY, and when you pick it up the trap door opens at the end of the passage. Drop down to a lower passage you explored earlier, find the interior ledge with the opening and drop down into the water below. Surface, pull out and locate a second opening that leads to a rock wall. Turn left and go around to a dead end. Stand at the higher left corner and pull up near some shotgun ammo. Go toward the opening, pause for flares to your left and enter a room you visited earlier.

 

Grab the uzi ammo if you didn’t do so before and place the Gold Key in the nearby receptacle to flood the area beyond the still-closed doors to your right and left. Exit this room, get down to the lower ground and jump into the pool. Pull out in front of the other opening to your left that you used earlier and run forward to jump into the now-filled pit. Swim forward and past the triangular wall opening, follow until you can surface and wade out, run forward for SECRET #5 and continue to an upper area where you’ll find 2 x shotgun ammo, 2 x uzi ammo and MP5 clips (at a dark spot). Continue through the narrow passage to a ladder that brings you to an upper passage with a wall switch at the end. Pull it to open the nearby door and step out onto a familiar ledge overlooking the hub area. However, you’ve already done everything that needs to be done here, so go back the way you came, get into the water and swim into the larger pool.

 

Turn left and swim under the waterfall you saw in the earlier cut scene. Enter the opening in the back right corner and surface. Wade out to your right for shotgun ammo and walk up the hill toward the archway to bring a Shiva statue to life. When it dies it leaves behind the LEFT SHIVA SWORD. Continue through this area, climb the ladder at the back wall and pull up near a slope. Slide down to a shallow creek and pull up onto the nearby block. Face the swinging flame pot and time a running jump past it to land inside the wall opening. Follow to the next opening, jump to the roof of the Shiva structure and go to the other side to find a higher wall opening. Stand jump to grab it, pull inside and pull down the wall switch in front of you. The nearby door opens, so proceed into a room with an inert Shiva statue. Pick up the harpoons and shotgun ammo on either side and place the Shiva Swords in the lower right and left hands of the statue. A nearby bridge is magically formed, so turn around and exit via the opening on your left. Locate the new bridge (the longer one to your right), go across it and bear to your left.

 

Pick up the shotgun ammo against the near wall and go to the red-tinted corner for more shotgun ammo. Go down the steps toward the other bridge for yet more shotgun ammo and jump over to the limb where a monkey may be waiting. Jump to the higher limb for uzi ammo and for a secret, face the wall, side flip left onto the sloped tree trunk and jump to grab a wall crack. Shimmy left and pull into the crawl space for SECRET #6. Follow to an inclined passage and emerge on an upper veranda. Shoot two lizard mutants and search the extensive area for 2 x uzi ammo, 2 x large medipack, 2x MP5 clips, the MP5 and uzi ammo. Get back down to the previous area (for a short cut you can safety drop between the Shiva statues at the cost of some health).

 

Go past the archway ahead into a large room, note the drop-offs along the outer walls (quicksand below) and take the BLUE INFADA STONE from the raised central slab. Two Shiva statues come to life at the same time, so do battle with them while staying as far as possible from the quicksand traps. Also note that a gate has closed to bar your escape. When both enemies have been vanquished, go to the ladder opposite the archway and climb up past the opened trap door. At the top, run up the steps to your left, continue to a pool and jump into the water. Swim toward the closed gate to trigger a cut scene of a hot-air balloon. Turn right and continue swimming to finish the level.

 

Level 3: SHIVAVILLE

 

Reverse roll to break the remote camera and run forward (note the footprints Lara leaves behind) to find a small medipack and shotgun ammo. Go back in the other direction and look behind the fat palm tree in the opposite corner for desert eagle clips. Find a wall switch at yet another corner that opens a door behind you. Enter, go down the steps and shoot a panther as you round the corner. Grab the harpoons behind the plant and continue through the opening on your left for more harpoons and uzi ammo.

 

Jump into the pool, swim down for harpoons and MP5 clips and continue through the opening to greet a crocodile. You can either retreat and pull up out of the pool or try out your harpoon gun for the first time. Either way, pick up 3 x uzi ammo in the connecting passage, swim up at the end to surface and pull out into a small cave. Follow to an intersection and take the left path to a hallway. One of the panels in the decorative wall is a pushblock, so pull it out and push it into the near corner so you can reach the wall switch. Pull it down to hear the sound of a door opening, return to the intersection and take the other path to find the opened door. Go on through to emerge at a beach resort, slide down to engage a lizard mutant and jump into the piranha-infested water to find a small medipack among the clustered seaweed. Wade out and ignore the feline snarls for the moment. Locate the steps in the back left corner and go past a couple of closed doors to a courtyard where you’ll find shotgun ammo and MP5 clips at the very end.

 

Go back a short distance and past the arched opening to your left. Go across a short bridge and turn left to find uzi ammo in the alley. Continue down across another bridge to find more uzi ammo at a doorway, return across both bridges and face the tree with a jutting limb. Jump onto that limb and from there take a rather precise running jump to the limb of the next tree. If you happen to fall into the water there’s a nearby spot to your left where you can pull out and make the circuit to try again. Go to the end of this limb and take a running jump into the wall opening ahead. Pull down the wall switch to open an underwater door, drop down into the pool and find flares next to the waterfall against the nearby wall. Swim in the other direction for shotgun ammo to your left beyond the Shiva statue, continue through the channel to the larger open area and search the sandy floor for 3 x shotgun ammo and uzi ammo. Return through the channel to the Shiva statue and swim down through the floor hole.

 

You’ll be greeted by a school of piranha, so avoid them and find the uzi ammo in a corner behind a column, then locate the opened door nearby that leads to an underwater cave with no apparent air holes. Retreat for air if necessary, then return to the cave and swim to your left past the rotating blades. Pull the underwater lever on the other side (screen shot of closed trap doors), exit and swim left toward and through a vine-obscured wall opening where you can surface for air. Swim back down, pick up the grenades (actually, just one) and return to the underwater cave. Turn left, swim past a second trio of rotating blades and pull down the underwater lever to open the trap doors in the cut scene. Exit past the blades, swim forward and a bit right, go down at the wall to find a large medipack, then follow the wall up and to your left to locate an opening that leads you upward to the opened trap doors.

 

Continue up past the piranha, surface and pull out to engage a panther. Locate the corner opening and pull up in front of a closed door. Pull up higher and light a flare to find the pushblock. Pull it once and push it aside to reveal an opening to an alley. Go down left for uzi ammo, pull down the nearby wall switch to open the door behind you for a short cut, but for now go back up the alley and search the grounds, first in a side alley to your left for uzi ammo, then a bit further to your right for more uzi ammo. Continue in the same direction to find steps leading down to a veranda. Turn right, enter the alley and hop up into a window sill for shotgun ammo. Return to the veranda, jump into the water and search the immediate floor area ahead for desert eagle clips, 2 x harpoons and 2 x uzi ammo while avoiding the piranha.

 

Pull out at the back left corner for MP5 clips, walk up left and jump into the wall opening. Enter a dark passage and follow to a library where you’re greeted by two lizard mutants. Go around the corner to an opening that leads to another section of the library. Run toward the red-tinted Shiva statue and find a small medipack in the back left corner. In the adjacent alcove is a book switch that appears to be timed. Activate the switch, reverse roll and loop around right past the timed bookshelf into a larger wing of the library that features a blue-tinted Shiva statue. Stay left and go through the side opening into a smaller wing. Look for MP5 clips to your left and continue to another book switch at the end of the passage. Activate it to open the shelf in the nearby alcove, but for an additional pickup reverse roll and run back past the Shiva statue for a grenade in the wall alcove. Reverse roll, turn left and go up the steps through a fixed camera. Continue around the central column, jump to the ledge surrounding the next column and locate the opening in the corner to your right. Take a running jump to grab the ledge next to the railing, pull up and go around to a balcony overlooking Shivaville.

 

Turn left and take a running jump to grab the jutting ledge. Pull up and jump left into the narrow alley and engage a panther. Continue around to a wall switch and pull it down to open the floor trap door behind you. Go there, safety drop to a stairwell and engage two more panthers. Go down the steps, emerge on a ledge overlooking the piranha-infested pool, walk down to the lowest point and pick up MP5 clips. Go back up, locate the wall switch on the patio and pull it down to open a nearby door. Again, ignore it for the moment, continue to the far wall and pick up flares to trigger a brief remote camera view. Turn left, jump up to grab the wall ladder and climb up to the top. Take a rolling back flip to grab the ledge behind you, pull up and turn left. Hop into the opening and take a running jump with grab to clear the low ceiling and land on a ledge in front of an opening.

 

Turn to face the opening you jumped from and find another opening covered with vines to the right of it. Take a curved running jump to grab the edge, pull up and enter the small alcove for SECRET #7. There are no pickups here, so pull up higher to your right and follow the passage left onto a veranda to collect a small medipack and MP5 clips. In the side area are more MP5 clips as well as desert eagle clips. Exit the veranda, turn left and drop through the floor hole at the end of the passage onto the ledge you jumped to earlier. Enter the opening and take a running jump to grab the jutting ledge. Pull up, hop into the wall opening to your right and drop down to an enclosed area. Exit and follow the short passage to an opening. Jump onto the tree limb to your left and look down left for shotgun ammo. Turn a bit to your right and jump to grab the limb on the other side of the tree. Pull up, walk left to the end and jump to the limb of the next tree. Approach the trunk and look for some purple flowers next to a palm tree down left near the wall.  

 

Jump there and enter the cleverly disguised crawl space for the SHIVAVILLE KEY. Crawl back to the palm tree and jump up the slope onto the trunk of the next tree. Make your way along the ledge, jump up onto the limb of the next tree and take a running jump to land in front of a wall opening. Shoot the panther waiting inside and look behind the column for desert eagle clips. Go to the opening, jump into the water below and swim across left to the back left corner where you found the MP5 clips earlier. Pull out, jump into the wall opening as before and return to the library. Take the first left and continue to the main area with the Shiva statue. Go up the stairs on the left side this time and go past a keyhole for MP5 clips. Return to the keyhole and use the Shivaville Key to hear the chimes of SECRET #8 as a gate lifts behind you. Go on through to an outdoor area to collect a large medipack, 2 x MP5 clips, a grenade and a rocket. Pull up onto the ledge and jump over into the pagoda. Pull down the wall switch on the column ahead to hear the sound of gates lifting below and jump down into the water. Swim under the pagoda to find that you now have access to a motorboat.

 

Get in, either from the right or left side and drive forward through the wall opening ahead. The action and up arrow keys move you forward, the jump key puts you in reverse. Stop before you make the right turn into a narrow passage, dismount by first hitting the end key followed by the right or left arrow key and swim down for shotgun ammo. Get back in, drive past two stairways and dismount as you turn the corner for a small medipack and shotgun ammo. Drive under a bridge to a waterfall and allow the motorboat to drop down to a jungle lake. Continue forward toward a waterfall and turn right to stop next to an opening. Dismount left and pull down the wall switch to open a nearby door. Turn the boat around, drive through the waterfall and face a gauntlet of swinging flame pots. Drive slowly to the right until you’re even with the first pot, dismount left (avoiding the flames) and swim to the end of the passage for MP5 clips. Return to the boat, dismount right onto a flat ledge and jump to grab the crawl space. Pull inside and follow the dark passage to a higher opening. Continue to a timed wall switch and save your game.

 

Pull down the switch to open the door behind you (timed, but not really a factor). Reverse roll and continue turning as you take a precise running jump past the opening to grab the bridge ahead. Save again as you’re pulling up, sprint to your right into the arched opening and continue past the timed door ahead toward a green-tinted Shiva statue for SECRET #9. Go down the steps and hop to your left. Follow the wall to an alcove in the corner where you’ll find the DESERT EAGLE in front of a closed door. When you pick it up two lizard mutants will attack from the other side of this area, so go there for desert eagle clips. Just beyond the nearby palm tree you’ll find uzi ammo. Hop up to the ledge near the corner of the building for more desert eagle clips and go toward the other side of the building where you acquired the desert eagle.

 

Your return route to the boat is blocked by the closed timed door, so follow the dirt path along the water’s edge and hop over the obstruction to an area visited earlier. Go up the steps to your left, go up and around to your left into the outdoor area, continue past the archways ahead and to your right, emerge outdoors and go down to the bridge. Jump toward the waterfall and swim past the opened gate until you reach the boat. Get in and back up a bit (jump key, remember), turn around and drive into the open river. Stay left, drive through the waterfall past the opened gates and get past another swinging flame pot. Turn the boat around at the wall so that you’re facing the pot, and dismount left onto a flat spot. Go up for flares and save your game before pulling down the timed wall switch that opens a door in the first flame pot passage. Get back in the boat and exit to the river, turn right, drive past the waterfall and turn right into the flame pot passage. Stay left, drive past the fire hazards, stop about a boat’s length from the wall (close to but not against it), dismount left and dash past the timed door before it closes.

 

You’re not yet out of danger. Deal with the panther and lizard mutant coming down the steps toward you, ignore the side passage (which leads to a wall switch that opens a door providing return access you don’t need to the boat) and go up the winding steps to a ledge occupied by a Shiva statue. Take a running jump to grab the tree limb, pull up and make your way from tree to tree with jumps and grabs as appropriate until you reach a small medipack (screen shot of the red-tinted Shiva statue below). If you wish, you can continue for MP5 clips, then return to the spot where you picked up the small medipack, walk to the far corner of the limb and take a running jump down toward the Shiva statue. Pick up the flares, enter the opening and go up the steps that lead to a lower room where you’ll find the INFADA ARTEFACT on a raised slab. Shoot two lizard mutants that attack and search the room on the other side for desert eagle clips before continuing through the next room to a breezeway.

 

The door ahead opens automatically, so go down to a familiar alley and stay left to go across the bridge toward the perched Shiva statues. Search the alcoves on either side of the statues for desert eagle clips and MP5 clips, continue forward to trigger a burst of action music and engage two native warriors. Search the side area on the left for desert eagle clips and go to the opening in the side area on the right. Follow to a small room and loop around left to find desert eagle clips next to a short passageway. Continue to a room lined with Shiva statues and go past them to a shrine where you can place the Infada Artefact to finish the level.

 

Level 4: AGAINST THE INFADA CULT

 

You’re still in the same place as before, so reverse roll and loop around left past the Shiva statue for uzi ammo in the near corner. Diagonally across this area is a short hallway with an opening in the back left corner. Go down to a ledge overlooking a deep pit and walk down right. For a secret, don’t turn right into the next opening but walk forward (don’t jump) over the edge and hit the grab key to glide onto a small corner ledge for SECRET #10. The floor here is deadly, so light a flare and turn right to face the wall. Pull up into a crawl space and come to a room that looks treacherous but isn’t.  Walk across the smoking floor and collect 2 x desert eagle clips and a large medipack, pull up left in the alcove next to the medipack and find a wall switch that opens the nearby door.

 

Walk out, pick up the flares and continue to trigger a seemingly endless cut scene featuring a sentry warrior. Hit any key to restore camera control and walk to the edge of the opening. Jump down left to land on a corner ledge and take a running jump in the same general direction to land on a tiny bridge. Turn to your left and take another running jump down to an opening and engage two warriors in close quarters (what looks like a solid dark surface is actually a phantom floor that will drop you to your death). Light a flare so you can see the safe path to follow to get to the other side of this cavern.

 

Go through the opening ahead and follow to a vast area with multiple Shiva statues. Look down right to see a jutting sloped ledge and stand jump down to it. Slide and jump off with a left curve to land on a wrap-around ledge that brings you closer to the Shiva statues. Look for a deteriorated lower section of the floor tiling ahead, save your game and take a running jump from the very end of the ledge to grab it (don’t even think about trying to jump to any other section that may appear to be closer). Pull up and run all the way to the left corner alcove for shotgun ammo. Return to where you pulled up and continue to the far edge next to a closed door. Save your game for the next secret and stand facing the darkness just to the right of the column jutting from the wall ahead. Take a running jump to land on a slope, slide and jump to a second slope, slide and jump with a left curve to land on a flat ledge for SECRET #11.

 

Hop through the opening into the water and swim down into a large underground area. Search the floor for the GRENADE LAUNCHER, a small medipack and a grenade bunched fairly close together, locate the wall opening not far from the grenade and swim up to an air hole. Pull out, go up the steps and pull down the wall switch to open the door above the ladder. Climb up to what I’ll call the main room and shoot the waiting warrior. Go to the end of the passage opposite the ladder hole and pull up into the window alcove for MP5 clips. Note the outdoor lake at one end of the room and a receptacle and a closed door at the other end, but for now go through the archway opposite the ladder hole archway and hop up into the window alcove for uzi ammo. Go through the short underground passage and beware of the deadly floor in the cave ahead.

 

Turn right and take a running jump with grab to clear the low ceiling and land near desert eagle clips. There’s nothing else here, so jump back and return to the main room where you met the warrior. Go through the opening to the lake you noted earlier, jump into the water and search the floor of the immediate area in a generally clockwise direction for 4 x harpoons while avoiding the piranha. Wade out onto the nearby island for MP5 clips and locate the waterfall in the back corner just beyond a high wooden bridge. Swim there for more harpoons, MP5 clips and a grenade, return and pull out onto one of the building ledges. Search the walkway perimeter for 2 x flares near the corners and enter the building directly across the lake from the one by which you entered. Take the archway on your right and jump into the water hole. Swim down and through the opening, stay left as a crocodile approaches and either lure it back to the water hole to deal with it or try to kill it here with the harpoon gun.

 

There’s a grenade behind the block in the passage. Turn right into the opening near the far wall and make a quick left to find an underwater lever that opens a door a little further on. Continue swimming along the parallel passage to the opened door and up to surface at another water hole. Pull out and find a wall switch in the corner alcove that gives you a cut scene of a closed gate. Jump back into the water and attract a second crocodile down in the passage, deal with it by your preferred method and find another grenade behind the red-tinted Shiva statue. If you have enough air, you can explore the central room between the passages for another grenade sitting on a shelf. Exit via the first water hole and go past the archway to the floor hole on the other side of the room.  

 

Save your game and step into the hole to slide down a slope. Hit the look key to break the remote camera, jump at the very bottom to grab the ceiling and quickly monkey swing clockwise along the tracks as a spike wall comes toward you. Drop down into a passage, restore your health as necessary and pull up four times into a higher room. Find a wall switch in the corner alcove that lifts the gate you saw in the earlier cut scene. Hop down and push another wall switch that opens the exit door to the main room. Go past the opened gate and follow to an underground cavern. Take the HEART from the steaming slab and turn to your right. Take a couple of jumps up the corner slope for uzi ammo and slide back down. You can see a higher opening to the left of the entrance, but for now return to the main room, go through the opening to the lake, jump into the water and swim across to the building on the other side.

 

Enter the building, place the Heart in the receptacle you noted earlier and the door behind you opens. Go on through, pull up right at the end of the passage and turn left to take a precise running jump to grab the jutting ledge. Pull up and take another running jump into a higher opening where you’ll encounter a warrior and an awakened Shiva Statue in the next room. A half dozen dormant Shiva statues remain close by, but they won't come to life. Locate the ladder on either side of one of a closed gate, climb up and shift right or left as appropriate to pull up into an alcove. Pull down the wall switch to lift the gate below, drop down and enter a hallway overlooking the lake you explored earlier. Turn left, go to the end of the hallway for flares, reverse roll and go down the steps at the other end of the hallway to find a small medipack on the block to your left.

 

Go to the other block and locate the wall opening. Jump there and go around to the wooden bridge you saw much earlier from the island below. Go across to attract two warriors and continue to another swinging flame pot gauntlet. Light a flare to illuminate the floating translucent platforms and time a running jump to grab the first one. Pull up, take a running jump to grab the next one and pull up in the right corner. Turn a bit left and continue in the same manner to the third platform and jump onto the ledge ahead. Go through the wall opening on your left and follow to a ledge with flares. You’re facing another swinging flame pot gauntlet of a different nature, so take a running jump toward the nearest platform to your left. Land on the other side, slide and jump to grab the long platform ahead. Shimmy to the right corner, pull up, slide and jump to grab a small square platform. Pull up in the right corner, turn to your left and sidestep right to the next corner.

 

Face a bit left and time a running jump to the sloped platform, slide and jump with a right curve onto the next platform, slide and jump to grab the ledge ahead. Shimmy left past the crack, pull up and follow around to a deep pit. Take a running jump over the raised corner to grab the jutting ledge, pull up and slide down the other side, jump to grab the ladder and climb up to a pavilion where you’ll be greeted by three warriors. One of the Shiva statues will come to life as well. When all is quiet again, find the ladder flanking the archway across the room, climb up and shift right or left as appropriate to pull up into the alcove. Pull down both wall switches to lift two gates, one directly below and the other somewhere else, drop to the floor and go out onto a balcony. Turn left and go down for a grenade on the block to your left, then go back the other way and follow around to the end for a small medipack. Go back a short distance to the opening on your left, safety drop to the floor below at the cost of some health and step forward into a lower pavilion. Engage two warriors and the awakened Shiva statue, note the large opening on the other side of the room but pull up right into the higher opening.

 

Take the INFADA KEY from the raised slab and another Shiva statue will come to life down below. Collect the small medipack, shotgun ammo, desert eagle clips and MP5 clips, drop down to deal with the Shiva statue and go to the large opening you noted earlier. Jump up right into a passage with a small medipack, go back to the opening and jump up right over the slope for SECRET #12. Hop backwards up the ramp to trigger a boulder, run down and loop around left to avoid it, then go back up and pull up two times into a hallway. Follow to find a small medipack in an alcove on your right and a rocket on the outdoor ledge, then search the blocks at the end for the ROCKET LAUNCHER and another rocket. Safety drop from the ledge between the blocks and go around to the opening from where you dropped down earlier, losing a small amount of health for a second time.

 

In the Shiva statue room, pull up into the higher opening across from where you acquired the Infada Key and pull down the wall switch to open the nearby door. Step out onto a familiar pavilion and go around to the front entrance. Use the Infada Key to lift the gate and run across a translucent bridge to the far wall. Pull down the wall switch in the alcove to open the door behind you, go on through and save your game before sliding down toward a pool of deadly water as you hear a burst of derisive laughter. Jump at the very bottom of the slope to land on the block ahead. Your first order of business is to draw your desert eagle and destroy the baddy who’s about to start tossing flameballs at you. You can then pick up the rocket at your feet and engage the approaching Shiva statues while trying to avoid being pushed into the deadly water. You would be wise to save in different slots as you pick off a quartet of these enemies, one at a time. When done, you can explore the area at your leisure if you wish for provisions you no longer need (I scarcely had time to pause and acquire them during the battle): multiple grenades, multiple rockets, desert eagle clips and a large medipack.

 

Take a running jump to grab the central column and pull up for the RED INFADA STONE as you hear the sound of the exit door opening. Jump back down, locate the twin wall ladders and jump to grab one of them. Climb up, shift right or left as appropriate and pull up at the opened door. Note the boulder poised overhead, go down left to trigger it and at the bottom curve right and jump to the ledge at the end of a parallel passage. There’s a boulder at the top of this ramp as well, so save your game, sprint up the ramp and duck into the crawl space on your left before the boulder reaches you. Continue around to an opening, safety drop to the passage below next to a spike pit and grab the nearby flares. If you walk forward you’ll trigger another boulder, but there’s a pushblock immediately to your left that you can push to create a path of escape.  

 

Continue up the ramp into a cavern and walk up left to an opening with a fixed camera. Look to your right and take a running jump to land near a large medipack. Pull up right into the opening and shoot the warrior inside. Follow to a ledge and take a running jump toward the flares you can see in the distance. Pull up through the ceiling hole in the other corner and follow to an opening. Take a running jump to grab the next opening, pull up and open the door with the wall switch. Follow to trigger a brief cut scene of a descending hot air balloon, run past the Shiva statues into an outdoor area and await the arrival of your ride home. Hop forward to finish the game and enjoy the end credits.
