Walkthrough by Harry Laudie

[Note] The author included a picture walkthrough with the zip file. However, on my computer, I found the pictures to be so small and so dark that it was very difficult to follow. I got the general idea of what to do and where to go next but all details that I really wanted to see were just too black. It caused a lot of frustration. The level was not too dark and Lara is dressed differently from that in the pictures. [End note]

Additional note from moderator:  Scroll down to the very last part of this walkthrough and take note of the walkthrough writer's comments concerning the final secret.  Unless you get it earlier, you won't be able to get back to Level 3 and the finish trigger, because of an earthquake that blocks your way.

XETH-3-Bergfahrt

Pick up four Uzi clips, four large medipacks, and four flares. Slide down the east slope and the level changes.

XETH-4-Zugang zum Tempel

Go east and break three vases to your left by a red pillar. Pick up shotgun shells and three Uzi clips. Go forward and shoot the two vases that contain nothing. To the south you can shoot three vases and pick up shotgun shells and the shotgun. I tried to get rid of the enemies first so I could work in peace. There are a lot of enemies and they attack in small groups. Go east and kill four scorpions. Go through the hedges and pick up a small medipack and a large medipack. Notice the three statues to the north.  Go to the next section to the east and then to the south section. Hop onto the boxes and shoot the vase. Kill four blue ninjas that attack. Pick up a large medipack, two Uzi clips and the Uzi's. Go west and north to kill three bats. Kill two blue ninjas that attack at the same time.  Jump on a red box next to a column for a revolver. Go south and see a closed door. Go west and get on a box for Uzi clips. Then I went back to the starting area as six red ninjas and four blue ninjas attacked. Then go south but save the game before you go too far south. If you see some vases to the far south do not shoot them. Pick up shotgun shells from a pedestal. If you are lucky you will get Uzi clips to the right before a ninja picks them up. Run back to the start as two red ninja and two blue ninja attack. Go back to the shotgun pedestal and go east. Kill a red ninja and a blue ninja that attack. Pick up two shotguns shells in that area. Go west to hop on a brown box and then onto some orange boxes. Pick up the laser sight.

Go south and kill a blue ninja but be careful not to break any of the vases in that area yet. It is hard because the ninja wanders among the vases. After he is gone, go south to the back wall and turn around and face the vases. The camera view changes and you can see a trap door to the east. Save before you shoot. Shoot the vases in this order:

And the trap door to the east opens. Any other order does not seem to work. [Opinion] I have seen levels where switch order is important but they have resets. Four order specific items with no reset capability is just nasty. [End opinion]  I really found it difficult to determine the order from the picture walkthrough. Go down the ladder and get secret #1 and pick up the grenade gun. Climb back up to the main area. The author's picture walkthrough shows an area further down there but I could never make it.

Now most the obvious enemies are gone, go back to the three statues near the start. Pull them from the wall to reveal three jump switches. Kill the two dogs that attack.  One jump switch gives a cut scene of a block in a corner. Pull all three jump switches and go east to find that block. The block is down so pick up two small medipack, normal cross bow ammo, and shotgun shells. Pull the jump switch and get a picture of a block. You may notice a face tile south of here. Do not move a statue onto it. It is a trap. From the block go west and just before the hedges look to the right for a square hole. Go there and reach inside. Immediately side jump to avoid a falling spike ball. I think that it was just a trap. From there go south to the second statue near a south wall. Pull it one square west through the hedges. Push it north to the second face tile and get a cut scene of a block. From there go west to a group of blocks. Next to the one with the spike-type plants is a hole. Get in and climb down. Although there are spikes at the bottom they do not seem to harm you. Get into a tunnel but watch out for darts. Avoid the darts, the steam, and the fire to reach the end and climb a ladder. Pick up revolver ammo and push a button. You get a cut scene of a column dropping and a statue falling on it as well. Kill or run around the skeletons and go back to the spikes. Climb the east wall to the surface.

Go to where you got the shotgun shells from the pedestal and turn east. Ahead of you is the statue that fell. Pull it east three times and then once to the north to the face tile next to the black box. Get a cut scene of the block. Pick up revolver ammo from under the statue. From the statue's new position go north-west to the top of the orange boxes where you found the laser sight. Turn south-west and shoot the swinging blue ball high up in the wall. Then go east, left of the doors, though the hedge and east some more. Look to the south for a wall that has gone down. Go into the doorway and back out to shoot a blue ninja in the west. Back in and pull the statue back to the square with the design. You get a cut scene of a block dropping to reveal a switch. Turn around and that switch is there. Use the switch and you hear a loud explosion. Go back west and see a big pit with water where the orange boxes used to be.

Go to the south tip of the hole and climb down. There is a spot near the fog layer where it is hand-over-hand down instead of the usual climb. After one block, the climb reverts to normal again. At the bottom pick up a small medipack. Walk into the water a little and then wait for four crocodiles to show up and kill them. If you walk around the small area, you get a flyby of the place. When you go into the water keep to the bottom because there is a strong current higher up. Even then it is very difficult to swim and survive. The current carries you to the east to drown. Get in and swim west and find a hole in the far west wall. You can pull up by the waterfall for air. Swim in and follow the tunnel for secret #2 and a crossbow. Swim back, get some air, and fight the current back to the land. Run and jump to grab the west wall. Climb up into an alcove and pick up a large medipack. Go inside into a large room and kill a skeleton. The alcove gate closes behind you.

Again save the game because the switches must be done in order. This is one of the few times where I could see something in the picture walkthrough. Ignore the first jump switch because it just seems to activate darts. The second jump switch is the one to pull and then the switches in order as follows.

When done correctly you get a cut scene of a block dropping revealing a reach-in switch. The trap door behind also drops. Drop down and fight the current and the crocodiles to get back to land. Kill the three crocodiles and climb back up to the top. Pull up and kill two dogs and three guards.  Go to the reach-in switch and kill another dog that attacks. Reach in and get a cut scene of the two nearby doors. Kill the two skeletons that sneak up on you. Go to the doors and they open as you approach. Enter and kill four bats that fly out. As you approach the hole with the spider web, locusts attack. You have to just suffer them. Climb down the ladder on the wall and there are two reach-in switches to the east. The left switch is a trap that drops spike balls on your head. Use the right switch and then go west. Go right to pick up explosive crossbow ammo off a pedestal. Use it to kill the two skeletons, red ninja, and blue ninja that attack you. Pick up a large medipack in front of the now open gate.

Look for a high crawl space in the east wall. Stand to its left side to jump up and crawl in. Pick up poison crossbow ammo and follow the corridor for a large medipack. You are in a doorway over the pit. Run, jump, and grab a monkey swing and follow it north until you drop onto a ledge. Go to the west end and turn north to face a rope. First face north-east and use the binoculars with the light. You should see a dark triangular-like opening in the east wall. Use the rope and try to grab that crawl space. Pull up into a grey tunnel and go forward. As you go through a doorway at the end, the level changes. There were a few things left undone here but you will come back.

XETH-5-Im Bunker

Shoot the vase and a flame starts moving on the floor. I have no idea what it does and eventually it disappears into another wall. Slide down the ramp and turn around. Side jump to avoid the falling spike balls. Continue south until you see a rope. You also see a hole in front of you. If you use the rope and swing over to the other side, you will end up at a spike pit. To the right is a blue platform. There is a button switch there. Use it and get a cut scene of a tunnel with some steps. Put your back to the hole and back flip. You land on a slope and should just slide down into the hole and miss all the spikes at the bottom. Kill a skeleton and go south and see the cut scene. Go up the right side of the steps and you should very quickly fall into a hole. Press the button there to get a cut scene of a door rolling to one side. Continue and at the end jump into a hole partially covered by leaves. It looks like an underground temple area. North is a spike pit, so go west and then north to the door you opened. Go inside and go to the left. Follow the tunnel to the end and get a flyby of the underground cave with water at the bottom.

At this point, I could not get down so I want all the way back to the hole with the spikes where I enter this area. Jump and grab over the spikes and pull up beside the button. Back flip to the slope and this grab the wall in front and climb up. Run down the corridor and turn right. Just after the turn look north and see a hole in the ceiling. Run, jump, and grab the wall and start climbing. Pull up into a tunnel. Avoid the steam vents and go the end to a ladder. Climb up and duck as spikes ball on a rope drops in front of you. On the other side, just run into the pit and use grab. You should clear the spikes with little damage. Follow the corridor until there is a pit. Run off the edge of the pit at the center and you should land on a column. Go to the east side, drop and grab. Climb down near the bottom and shimmy to the left. Drop ona slope and jump to grab a monkey swing. Very awkwardly work you way north to drop into an alcove. Go through the crawl space and drop into a room. Go east to see a big blue wall and then south to face a pit.

Jump to the corner ledge and then to the ladder ledge. Hang, drop and slide and grab at the end. Pull up, back flip, roll and grab a crevice. Shimmy left until you go around a corner into an opening. Move the statue onto the face tile and kill a skeleton by shooting him out the door with a shotgun. When I used explosive ammo the puzzle piece disappeared. Climb the wall where the statue was. Go east and climb a ladder. Go to where you see a red flag and a green wall. Walk through the green wall and go east to pull a jump switch. You hear a gate opening. Go out and go west to climb a wall. Drop into the corridor and return to the pit. Go back to slide and grab the crevice again. Get into the room and see that the gate is open. Shoot the vase and pick up the Left Hand of Toom Rayda. Now follow the ladders again back to the pit.

Go to the corner and to the ladder ledge and pull up. Climb the ladder and when you are at the green vines, back flip, roll, and grab a ledge. Go west, north and east top a ledge with a pole. Face north and climb the pole. Go well pass the green vines and back flip to a ledge. Follow to another pole. Climb up a lot, face north, and back flip in an opening. Follow the ledges to the north side opening and go right. Hop the broken steps and when going down the corridor keep to the left wall. In front of the skeleton is a deep hole. Go around the corner and move the statue from one alcove into the next. Kill the skeleton and go where the statue was. Jump up to grab a crawl space. Crawl inside to a room. Get secret #3 and pick up a crossbow. Get out and trample the face tiles at the end just in case they trigger something. Go back to the hole you avoided before and drop down into the starting tunnel. Depending if you reloaded recently, the fire is still moving across the floor. I guess it starts at every reload.

Go south, use the rope to get over the hole and continue pass where you climbed up before. You are at a dead end with a spike pit to the south. Get on the block in front of the pit. Stand with your back to the pit and take one step forward. Hop back and grab and you should end up in a tunnel beneath the block. Light a flare if it helps. Follow the tunnel to the end. Turn around and jump to grab a wall and climb up. Pull up into a tunnel to get secret #4 and a shotgun. Climb down into the hole on the other side and end up near where you started. Go east and climb the north wall again. Watch out for the steam vents and climb up the ladder. Watch the spike ball and run into the hole and grab to avoid the spikes. This time jump over the pit in the floor and continue down the corridor pass some boxes. At the last box, kill two guards and a dog. Turn around and kill two guards near the first box. Shoot the vase at the west end and an earthquake occurs. Go back to where the floor is still fine and look north for a hole in the ceiling. Climb up there and when you step on a face tile you get a cut scene of some spikes. Go further and see Uzi's and a spike ball behind a wire mesh. Return back to the corridor. Notice a large part of the north wall is gone but you cannot get there yet. Two holes have opened up as well. One has the spikes at the bottom. The other is just a long drop into some water.

Top up your health and drop into the water side. The water breaks the fall but the crocodile does a lot of damage. Get out and kill the crocodile. Notice the ladder on the side. Go east and enter the main area. I will call this the underground water cave for later reference. A wraith attacks so go south-east to find the bird statue. Walk around the central area and kill five crocodiles and a shark in the water. A fire wraith may also attack so dive into the water to extinguish it. Go to the south-east corner of the structure for a large medipack. Stay away from the water in the south-east because of a sinkhole that drowns you. Swim into the channel in the west and turn back as a shark approaches. Kill the shark and swim west.  Go under a wall and surface on the other side. Go up a ramp to the right and use the Left Hand of Toom Rayda to open the door.

In front of you is the red water room and the water is deadly. Jump to the center platform and go left to easily work your way around the columns to the platform before the green opening. Before you go in take the binoculars and notice a monkey swing on the ceiling and a possible gate and possible crawl space in the west wall. Go into the green opening and follow through another green wall to a button. Press it and get a cut scene of the underground water cave that you just left. If you exit and go back there, you have to kill a crocodile that follows you back in the water and you notice that the central structure is damaged. However, for now, exit and work your way back to the L-shaped platform near the west wall. Face north and you can see a hole in the water at the north wall. Run north off the platform onto a slope. Slide, jump to a slope and slide into the water. Surface since it safe there. Paddle on the surface to the hole and suddenly jump up and drop into it (strange animation). Slide and at the bottom jump to a ledge and grab. Pull up into a crawl space.

At a T-junction go left and stand at the end. Watch out for the scissors and slide back and grab. Release and grab a crawl space and go in. At the end get into a room. Shoot the vase and pick up the Power of Ixnay. Two wraiths attack you. Climb into the hole in the wall and run to the end. Run, jump and grab a green wall to the left. Climb and at the top back flip to a ledge. Grab another green wall and climb to the top. Jump into a hole to your left and run down another tunnel. Jump over a hole to pick up a large medipack. Take full health and safety drop into the hole. Turn east and crawl and keep crawling until you can stand. Run near the bird statue to get rid of one wraith. Notice a closed gate needing an item.  Turn and run east and up some stairs. You fall through into some water. This kills the ice wraith. Swim to the end pull up to kill three crocodiles. Jump to a ladder and climb up. Go east up the stairs and stop before a deep pit. Stand on the left side and turn around and drop and grab the edge. Start to monkey swing forward until you clear the slopes. I did not think this maneuver was possible. Go into the tunnel as far as the spikes and then turn and run out as a spike ball drops.  Go back in and turn with your back to the spikes. Jump up to grab a wall and start climbing. When you can go no further, back flip and roll to grab another wall. Climb some more and when you are stopped, back flip and roll to grab another wall. Climb to the top for secret #5 and the Uzi's. Now get back down to the pit. Grab the north wall and climb back to the ledge.

Monkey swing across the spikes and watch out for the left-right jog in the swing. Drop at the end and notice stairs on the left. This goes up to where you jumped into the water pit. But there are spikes at the top. Just run up the stairs and you pass the blown out wall by the boxes. Continue up the stairs until you reach the top and the level changes.

XETH-4-Zugang zum Tempel visit 2

Immediately kill two yellow bugs before they push you back down the stairs and the level changes back. Avoid the face tiles or else beetles are released. Go north to just ahead of the two guards in white and climb the wall there to the top. The guards in white are your friends and help you, so do not shoot them. Jump west to the roof area and get a flyby of the area. Go over the bridge to the tree. Turn and run back again as the guards in white kill the six guards and two dogs for you. When the firefight is over go back over the bridge. Do not fall off or you cannot get back up. Look west to see a white column with a jump switch at the top. Go to the right and grab the rope. Swing to the north wall and then go west. Jump a gap and shoot a vase in an alcove to pick up the Right Hand of Toom Rayda. Jump back east and get on a sloped block in front of the tree. Jump to the branch and monkey swing over to drop on the white column. Drop back and pull the jump switch. At the bottom go south to see that the two big doors have opened. Go down the steps and around the corner until the level changes.

XETH-5-Im Bunker visit 2

Continue down the steps until you reach the pit. Monkey swing over it and continue down the steps. When the corridor has a long flat area go carefully and watch out for holes that drop you into water. Continue down more steps to reach the gate needing the Right Hand of Toom Rayda. Use it and the gate opens.  Before you enter the hole, go to the corner beside the bird statue. Locusts attack you and a gate opens in the wall high above. The other side of this is in the red water room and makes a shortcut. Jump and grab the back wall and climb up. At the top shimmy right and follow the tunnel to a ladder. Climb up and follow the tunnel to overlook the red water room. Jump up to grab the monkey swing and use it to get to the south-east crawl space. Follow the tunnel and get through the circular slicers. Get a picture of an opening with spikes. Pick up a two large medipacks and drop into the water. Now you have two ways to get back to the bird statue and the hole. The first way is to climb the ladder on the east wall. At the top shimmy as far left as possible and back flip to a ledge. Exit to a corridor and notice that in the opposite side the spikes are down giving you a shortcut. Monkey swing over the pit again and follow the corridor back to the hole with the bird statue. The second way is to go through the underground water cave and go to the red water room. Jump to the center platform and then jump in the direction of the gate you opened. There is an unseen slope behind the rock so you fall through the gate. Slide down and you are at the bird statue. Beetles are released but they can be dropped down the hole.

Back to the hole and this time jump to grab the back wall and climb down. Fall into some water, Climb out and look around for a switch. Kill a skeleton that appears. Use the switch and go through the open gate to the east. Enter and run down to the end. In the deeper water you can swim and are swept away by the current to the south. You can control when you are in a large open area. Swim to the east and pull up on a blue platform on the north wall. From here kill the two crocodiles in the water. Jump to the platform with the statue. Move the statue to the east face tile and nothing seems to happen. Move the status to the west face tile and you get a cut scene looking up at a deep underwater pit. This is a clue for a secret but I never got it until the end. See the note at the end of the walkthrough for an explanation. Stand on the east end of the platform and look north up to the ceiling. You see a ledge high up there. The north wall is climbable here so grab it and climb up to that ledge. Grab the monkey swing and go east and then south to a wall. Release and grab the wall and shimmy to the left until another wall stops you. Climb down the wall until you are hanging by your fingernails. Shimmy left and you go around the corner. Keep shimmying left until you come face-to-face with a jump switch. Release and pull the jump switch and fall into the water. You get a cut scene of a door opening in a corridor.

Fight the current and swim back to the blue ledge on the north wall. Go west and jump the ledges to get to a ladder on the west wall. Climb the ladder into an opening and follow the corridor up some steps to a ladder. Climb up the ladder and follow the corridor to the open door. Go inside and to the left to press the button on the wall. You get a cut scene of a block rising on a platform in the water room. Side flip to break out of the cut scene and exit the room. Select the explosive crossbow ammo and get into the crawl space to the left. Go down a bit and kill two scorpions that emerge from the right before they get too close. If not, they poison you and you cannot move. Pick up a large medipack and continue to crawl to the water. Swim down and underwater tunnel and into a room. Pull up on the ledge at the east end. Go to the west end of the three ledges and run, jump and grab the wall behind the broken screen in the west. Climb up the wall and shimmy to the left and pull up. Pick up grenade shells and overlook the underground water cave you saw much earlier. Jump back into the water and swim back to the crawl space. Return to the room where you saw the block rise on the platform.

Go back to the statue ledge and climb the north wall up to the ledge. Monkey swing and grab the wall again. However, this time, climb down until you hang by your fingernails from the brown edge. Now shimmy to the right and when you drop, you should land on the platform. Use the south edge to pull up to the block. Jump up and grab the monkey swing. Follow the obvious route to a rusty block. Release and grab the block. Shimmy to the left and pull up to a flat ledge. Grab the monkey swing and loop to the right and go towards the waterfalls. Continue over the blue and brown ceilings until the brown splits. Go right and follow the partial brown tiles around and back to the full brown tiles. This is a bypass around a tile you would drop from. Continue west and stay close to the wall to get over an offset tile. Then follow the brown monkey swing north to the end. Drop and swim north for secret #6 and a grenade gun. If you go up for air, a trap door is open. You can pull up to the underground water cave. The sharks and crocodiles are back. However, dive back into the water, swim south, and let the current carry you over the waterfalls and back to the room with the monkey swings.

Swim to the blue ledge and climb the north wall to the ledge. Monkey swing over to the suspended block as before. Now monkey swing to the block and shimmy around to the flat ledge. The picture walkthrough show Lara monkey swinging to the red banner on the wall. I used full health, climbed down a bit and back flipped to the ground below and added some more health. Go to the red banner and climb up. At the top back flip onto a ledge with spike balls above your head. Watch out for darts and run to the north-east corner and turn around. You see about a dozen spike balls rolling down the hill and over the edge. Go to the middle and walk slowly towards the skeletons as large blades pass in front of you. Go to the end of the platform and climb down the north wall. Turn and shoot the two vases from here. Kill the scorpion that comes towards you. Then run to the other vase and pick up the Eye Piece while locusts attack. You get a flyby of the area showing the ladder and a trap door dropping. If you did not kill the scorpion first, it poisons and kills you during the cut scene. Suffer the locusts and go back to climb the wall. Back flip at the top to get onto the platform.

Shoot two skeletons off the platform and watch out for more spike balls. Jump to a platform and then to the ladder and climb up. Follow the tunnel and at the end slide down and grab a wall. Climb to the top and go to the north-west corner. Jump forward to grab a ledge and pull up. You have been here before. Go north, turn west and jump into the left opening back to the underground water cave. Kill the shark and the crocodile and go to where the bird statue is. Go into an underwater cave to the north-east for a large medipack. As you return notice a hole in the south-west floor next to a broken box. Swim inside the up and into a tunnel. The start is rather hard to get past. When you turn south into a wide area, go into a lower tunnel to the east. Just follow the tunnel and eventually pull up.

Go up the stairs and get a cut scene of a block rising. Then run down the stairs into the water to kill an ice wraith. Go back to the top the stairs. Jump to the right slope, slide and grab. Shimmy over to the left to the end and back flip over the spikes to a ledge. Climb the south wall beside you. At the top run to the left and crouch as a blade goes your head. There is a large medipack on the middle of the floor. Jump the gap south to a ledge with a ladder. Climb the ladder into an opening. Use the monkey swing and go west. You will drop and start to slide on a slope.  At the end jump forward and grab a wall. Shimmy left as far as you can go around several corners. It is a little awkward at times. You may have to hang by your fingernails to shimmy and then pull up to a normal climbing position. When you reach the last wall, climb up to the top to enter a short tunnel. At the other side, climb down to a ledge. Look north and a little west for a crawl space. Run, jump, and grab the edge and pull up. Slide into a crawl space and follow it to a room with a grey CCCP block. Kill two scorpions as they poison you. Behind the block shoot a vase and pick up the Knowledge of Ixnay. Go to the south-west corner and pull up into the room above.

Here the picture walkthrough is so black as to be useless. Follow the room to the east to overlook the cave. Turn south and pull up to a slope. Slide and jump to an opening. Follow the opening to face west over the cave. Use binoculars with the light to see where to go next. You see a ladder on the left side. That is how you got here so forget it. Run, jump, and grab a ledge to the right side and pull up. Go west and north to drop into the corridor below. Follow this corridor around and you should see the CCCP block through a hole. Turn the corner to enter a room. Go to the north-west corner and pull up into another room. If you cannot see it, use a flare since it is sort of camouflaged. Go east and follow the stairs to the top and stop before the long drop. Grab the monkey swing and start swinging. Just follow it around and at the first junction go straight, as the right turn is fatal. Follow the monkey swing some more and approach a window. The monkey swing dips down and when you almost blinded by the light, go to the left. Follow until you see a pole and turn right and continue to an alcove to drop in safety. I do not know if you can grab the pole since I did not try it.

Go forward and see a ladder over a pit. Climb down into the pit and at the bottom shimmy right into a tunnel. Go to the end of the tunnel for secret #7 and explosive crossbow ammo. Getting back is hard since there is a spike ball above that kills you. What worked for me was to go to the entrance and face south. Grab the wall but stay near the bottom. Shimmy left a little and quickly shimmy right again. This will trigger the spike ball to fall. With luck and a dozen attempts it will miss you. Now climb back to the top of the pit and climb the ladder. Follow the tunnel, jump over a floor blade and continue until you are in a wide corridor. Go east and around the corner. Kill a skeleton and pick up a large medipack. The face tiles are spike traps so be careful. Go back west and notice an opening that looks like a mirror image of you. You can go there but if will be for later. Go west up the incline and watch out for the rolling spike balls. The right one rolls faster so stay in the middle and when it passes, side jump behind it.

At the top when you step on the grey part, beetles appear. Drop in to the hole and start to slide. Light a flare and slide forwards. When you see an opening in the ceiling, jump up and grab the wall. Climb up and go left at the top. Watch out for the scissors trap and enter a room with a pool. Pull the statue back one tile and get a cut scene of a corridor. You can see through the window the other Eye Piece. Dive into the water and at the bottom west wall swim through the solid-looking wall and follow the underwater tunnel. Pull up and get the Eye Piece. Swim back and get rid of the skeleton that appears. Get back to the wall and climb down. AT the bottom release and slide down. Kill four guards and a dog and run north. Enter an opening on the left and get a flyby of the underground water cave with ropes hanging from the ceiling. Jump and grab a rope. If you climb to the top and then turn you have a lot less movement and lining up for the next rope is easier. Swing to the next rope. Swing to the pole and back flip into the alcove. If you swing on the rope enough you will grab the monkey swing instead of the pole and it is lot easier to enter the alcove.

Go to the end and climb the ladder. Follow the tunnel to the wide corridor and go left towards where you saw the mirror image before. Jump the gap because the hole at the bottom is deadly. Kill the two skeletons and go left to the end. Combine two pieces to get the Death of XETH. Before you use it, drop into the hole in the north-east corner. This disables the blades on the floor. Go to the receptacle and use the Death of XETH. The door opens so enter. As you run down the corridor towards the water, the level changes.

XETH-6-Grab des XETH

Go to the left side and hug the wall over the brown strip. This way the blades miss you. Go near the water and kill two bats. Start going in the water and when you see two strange crocodiles move toward you, turn around and get back out. Kill the two crocodiles from the shore. If you go back to far, the level changes back. Annoying but you get full health when you return. Get back to the water and swim into the next room. You see four sharks so swim back and they follow you. Kill the four sharks and go back in to pick up a large medipack from the center column and return. Swim in and just after the entrance turn left to go behind the first flag against the wall. Behind it is an underwater switch to pull down. Now swim north-west toward the second column. Pick up a large medipack and swim up into the open trap door. Go forward and watch out for floor blades. Pull the jump switch on the back wall. Give yourself full health and safety drop to the now empty area. Dropping from the left side is the best. Go to the bird statue as a wraith attacks you. Go around the room and pick up normal crossbow ammo, two grenade shells and two flares. You may be curious as to what happens if you decide to go for the trap door and empty the room before killing the sharks. The sharks are still there chasing you in the shallow water but you can safely kill from any dry ledge.

Approach the Eye Piece door and locusts attack. Combine the Eye Pieces to make the Eye of XETH and use it to open the door. Kill the two dogs and four guards that attack you. When you enter the door from the center, there are blades that kill you. Run and jump into the doorway over the slope on the right hand side. This way the blades do not trigger. Run down the tunnel and avoid floor blades and spike balls on a rope. Turn the corner and kill a big yellow bug. Go to the end of the tunnel and kill a bat. If you run around the area in front you are chased by two unkillable knights. But you should find three grenade shells, explosive crossbow ammo and a large medipack. Hidden in plants near the stargate walls are a grenade gun and a crossbow. When finished collecting go back to the entrance.

Now for a lot of confusion on my part. Columns rise and fall in some manner that I had trouble determining. There are two unkillable knights to hassle you but they are slow. Step on the face tile in front of you and beetles pour out. Run east to the wall and step on another face tile and they disappear. An ahmet appears and you have to kill it. Run north to the stargate structure and columns rise in front of it. Step on the face tile in front of the columns. This triggers a harpy to kill. Run behind the columns for three more face tiles. This triggers a demigod to kill. Go to the middle section with two brown circular columns. Approach the face tile there from the east side. All other sides have spikes. This triggers another demigod to kill and the columns in front of the stargate descend and Seth appears. He cannot be killed but lure him away and run to the front of the stargate to pick up the stargate key from the pedestal. An earthquake occurs and the stargate is operational. Kill the four skeletons that appear, jump to the stargate and the level changes. I think that was the order of stepping on the face tiles and I may have stepped on some of them more than once. Sorry for a poor explanation.

XETH-3-Bergfahrt vist 2

When the level starts you get a continuous flyby of a large building and its interior. If you jump forward you face the gate at the start but now you are on the other side. After about two minutes the earthquake stops. I think that this is actually the end since if you move away from the gate towards the building you die.

However, if you want one last secret, you can jump through the gate and slide downhill and the level changes.

XETH-4-Zugang zum Tempel

Run towards the hole and dive into the water. Let the current carry you to the sinkhole and the level changes.

XETH-5-Im Bunker

Swim down and through the mesh and let the current carry you. Stay in the center and you get secret #8, explosive crossbow ammo and grenade shells. The current will then carry you to a familiar room. At this point I quit. I guess that the trip from level 5 back to level 4 and back to level 5 to get the secret should have been done earlier. I only found it at the end of the game and I did not want to re-do it.
