PYRAMIDE (first level)
Lara starts outside in the desert and in front of her is a pyramid and
the only thing to do is go in. Apart from the entrance there are three
openings, left (N), right (S) and straight forward (E).
GO RIGHT FIRST (S):
At the end is a body of water, so dive in and get the flares on
the bottom. Climb out again and notice that hole in the ceiling? I’ll be back
(to re-phrase the famous words of Arnold Schwarzenegger).
GO LEFT (N):
Go down some stairs
and a door at the end opens. This is a maze. Keep the wall on your right at all
times, so here is the drill, right up, up, up and get the flares. Back
down and still keep the wall on your right and find a small medipack.
Again keep the walls to your right, pass a door, find the Ba Cartouche
and crawl through that crawlspace. There are two mummies here and when you go
over the tile with the big scarab the spikes won’t be triggered. Get the flares
and crawl back.
Walls on the right,
remember and you’ll find some flares. You’ll pass that closed door
again, pull that statue out of the way and to get back at this point run around
with the wall on your left. Back again, keep the wall again to your right and
get to a corridor with stairs at the end. At the end is a pole (a bit further
is also some shotgun ammo to find though).
Descend and first you
see a room where to place two Cartouches, so slide down a bit more and when
Lara’s back is to another opening, back flip to get the second Ba Cartouche.
Grab the pole and climb up to place the two Cartouches. The door in the
middle opens.
ROOM WITH PILLARS:
Slide down and shoot
the vases in the corners and find shotgun ammo, flares and a medipack.
Behind the four pillars are also some flares to get. Standing at the
pool all the way back and looking north, you see a lever. There might be a
scorpion nibbling so keep an eye open for any bugs. A staircase appears so you
can climb the stone block north. Take a running jump to the highest and one
more to the ledge south. Get on a block and use the monkey climb to get to the
other end of the room and use that lever there. Go back and now jump in the
pool, as a gate north is open. Swim in, down and up and climb out. Another
lever, that opens the other gate underwater so get to it. At the end climb out
and find the lever SW, jump to the block on the south wall and jump to the
ladder and climb up and a running jump to the pole. Slide down, and use the
monkey climb to get to the next structure to get the EYE PIECE and watch
the fly by.
Do a safety drop and
find the hole in the floor. Then slide down the pole and you are in a new room.
In the NE is a small medipack
and south is a closed door with two levers on the right (W). There is a small
flaw at this point but if you want to play the game as it was intended than
pull the left lever. Next to the pole has another block risen so you can climb
the Ivy there but that is a bit of a hassle I found out, as Lara has to hang
and then you need to shimmy her to the ledge where she can climb up (I couldn’t
get it to work) and when you manage that you need to jump from block to block
to finish SE of the closed door. The other lever takes care of poison darts,
making it bit more difficult.
How ever when you step up to the door and turn to the east you can climb over
the wall. In there is another lever and that opens the door. Doing it like
this, there is no need to use any levers. Climb out by way of the Ivy covered
wall.
Get in and climb the
ladder and back flip when you are almost at the top. There is another ladder
and a back flip and another ladder. Climb the stairs and drop in the water. You
are back in the south entrance where you started the level.
NOW WE GO EAST:
Before you slide down
look up, yes a spiked boulder. So jump to the left and slide down. On the left
is an opening with a closed door. Jump pas the boulder and climb the stairs.
The door opens and at the end of this room is a spiked pit. With a running jump
you could get that small medipack and after that jump back as you need
to go to the south as there is an opening. It is rather dark here and in the
end, flip that lever. A block appears in the room and climb up in the ceiling
in the west. There is nothing under the vases and the door opens when you
approach. Climb the block and up again on the ledge there.
Find a small block
north and climb one ledge higher. Get the shotgun ammo and use to that
monkey climb. Get that lever and watch the fly by. Don’t go there just yet. Go
one floor down and find on the south the same block to get one ledge higher.
Jump to a ledge on the right and from there to the one in the south and flip
the lever around the corner. Get down and make your way to the east as there is
the block and trapdoor you saw in the fly by. First jump up and use the lever
and then go down and do the same.
The door you hear opening is on the ground floor in the east.
You can go either way
and take the elevator up. On the east wall, opposite that black column is a
ladder climb up and get off on the right. A running jump to the rope and a swing
to the other ledge, to pick up medipack and shotgun ammo. Go to the
other ledge and a running jump to that second EYE PIECE. Get back to the
ladder and on the ground floor the door in the west is open.
At the end, combine
the Eye Pieces and place the EYE OF HORUS on the door.
Nothing else to do
than get to the pedestal and pick up the Right Gauntlet. A fly by starts
and an earthquake occurs. Get the Right Greave.
Now look at that pile
of sand, straight ahead a bit to the left is a darker spot. That is the only
way to climb the sand. A standing jump straight ahead and another one slightly
to the right.
In the left opening
you can pick up the Left Greave and at the other end the Left
Gauntlet. Go back where you got the Left Greave and near that column is the
place to climb up. Run around the ledge till you can climb the stairs and do
the same again for the next stairs. Line up with the pole and a running jump
will get you there. Climb up the pole and with a back flip get off. Before you
slide down, have a look first, either hop over the spikes or jump left or right
to slide past them.
Once down, there is
nothing left or right, so just walk to the door and after entering you get to
the second level.
TEMPLE (second level)
On the right are some flares
and as you are surrounded with old buildings and sand, better watch out for
scorpions. SE is a small pool and some shotgun ammo. Go north now and
enter an area with stone blocks. Immediately on the right, you can climb up and
by a running jump (N) get the shotgun ammo there. Look to the NE and see
a ladder there on the wall. In the SW corner is a small medipack if you
want. Get to the ladder and climb about three blocks and back flip with a roll
to catch the block. Your goal is the wall in the west. First a running jump
north, then one to the west. The next to the south, another one west and the
last, while standing even a bit higher, too the north (don not use the Ctrl
key). From there one hop to the opening and better slide backwards down.
Get to the opening a
bit further down. Follow through and in the next room with all the pillars,
going to the left will get you some flares and on the west wall is a
lever. Follow through and in a corridor around a corner, another one, and jump
up and the door opens when you approach. You are back at the start. See the
open door between the statues? Enter and jump into the hole in the floor. Go up
the stairs and once outside you are at a pool.
On the left is a
receptacle for a Hand and in the middle is a block. Get into the water and swim
around the block on the right and climb out and get the SHOTGUN. Dive in
and go south and pick up the Hand of Orion and swim back to put it in
its receptacle. This however releases two crocs and if they don’t appear right
away, tease them out so you can shoot them. Once they are dead get into that
opening in the water and the skeleton there is hiding a REVOLVER. On the
west wall is a lever pull it and if I were you I would get a breath of air in
the pool first before going on.
Dive in again and now
go to the now open gate. Swim in and up and go right into the opening there, At
the end swim up, find the lever (N) and swim back as the trapdoor is open now.
Next room, jump on the
ledge with the pillars (N) and find the SIGHT on the right and revolver
ammo on the left.
I would save while standing in front of the CLOSED doors and the minute they
open you just have enough time to run out, line your self up with the ropes
(while running) and jump. The tiles behind you burst into flames and you won’t
have a chance to get to the ropes then.
Once at the other side
shoot that nasty ninja and use the lever there. Go in and go left and climb the
ladder.
In the next room are
ninjas and they leave Uzi ammo and a small medipack.
In the SE is water, jump in and start swimming. Get the shotgun ammo and the
revolver ammo at the other end and climb out. On the north wall jump on
that block and a running jump with grab to the ledge with the lever. This
releases a rope (SE) and swing (2 times) to the opening in the ceiling west.
Don’t worry about the spike holes yet and get the UZI. Now avoid the
spikes that popped up and climb down and go to the door that opens. Watch for a
ninja and gather a small medipack, and some uzi ammo, a big medipack and
revolver ammo.
In the next room (S) go first to the right opening (W) and get after a crawl a
medipack. Now go to the opposite (E) and get the GATE KEYS.
Use the Gate Keys in
the south.
Ninja alert and he
leaves uzi ammo. In the opening left is shotgun ammo and where
the ninja came from look up and jump up there and find a small medipack.
Go north and around the corner and you are outside and in the pool find a small
medipack. Near a column is also shotgun ammo laying and then get
into the opening. At the end climb up and a back jump to descend the ladder
into the next room.
Align yourself up with the rope; you probably miss it first time around, but
that is OK as at the end is a pole. Slide down the pole and left and right
through a crawl opening get the uzi ammo and a medipack. You can use the
west wall to climb all the way to the top.
Now slide for that
rope and that means jumping to the rope one block at least before the second
slide. One on the rope, swing twice and grab the monkey climb. It might looks like
you can’t go forward, so monkey climb right and left in a forward angle and at
a certain point Lara will continue straight ahead.
At the end climb down
and come in a room with a big circular stone in the east.
Pick up the medipack in the middle and in the water right get the revolver
and uzi ammo. In the NW corner is a ladder, climb it and when Lara’s hand
are at the same height as the ledge, shimmy right and climb up.
Running jump to the
rope and align Lara up with the tile behind the lever, swing twice at least and
jump. Watch the fly by. You can jump to the rope and use the ladder or do a
safety drop at the end of the ledge. Now get in the water and swim to the other
side of the pool. In the east is a crawlspace and in the end you are at the
side of that circular stone, so use the lever and see the stone moving. Go back
through the crawlspace and enter the opening.
The room is filled
with pillars and the goodies are in between the pillars, like uzi ammo, a
medipack, shotgun ammo and revolver ammo. The opening is in the north wall.
There is also a crawlspace after the small corridor on the right with a small medipack,
a big medipack and as SECRET, the CROSBOW and arrows. Follow through and
see two mummies laying there, Pick up a small medipack, arrows and uzi ammo.
I wouldn’t shoot the mummies as I got thrown back to my desktop, so evade them.
Keep going and into the water and up, climb out and follow through.
ROOM WITH POOL AND
BALCONY
Next room you see that
you need a cartouche and the only way you can go is in the east so climb in.
Into the water and
swim up, in the next room push and pull the statue between the other two
statues. Climb up and slide to the next block, a hop to the highest point and a
hop to the block east so you can get to the crawlspace in the south. Use the
lever there and watch the fly by. Go back where you came from, but once in the
water swim into the opening you saw in the fly by. Climb out and if you are
quick in getting the Cartouche Piece 1 you won’t burn. But there is
water nearby so… Swim up and you are back at the room.
Go to the door west,
it opens when you approach it.
Better save here, spiked boulders of course
and the door closes the moment you enter. The left boulders falls first so run
to the other side and side jump back to the left.
Go up the ramp and in the next room are two reach in holes. The right has a medipack
and the other shotgun ammo. In the SW corner is a lever, this rises a
block and from the block, up that pillar (ninja alert) and get to the lever. Opposite
the lever are some flares though. After the door is open, two ninja
attack and once inside use the lever. Get out and now wit a running jump get
the ladder and climb up. Get a small medipack and on the other side the Cartouche
Piece 2. Nothing else to do apart from a lever at the west wall (camera
shot) and than get out and down the ramp. There is a monkey climb there and at
the end align up, let go and grab straight away and pull up. Behind the open
gate is a lever that opens the door at the ramp, so use the monkey climb to get
back.
Combine the cartouche Pieces and use the Ba Cartouche.
A trapdoor in the middle of the floor is open, jump in and follow
through and at the end climb the wall. Go all the way to the front and get the Breast
Plate.
You can go either back the way you came or jump in the pool down there. The
gate is open and swim in, watch out for ninja’s and jump over the spike pit and
run outside and watch the fly by. That is the end of the level.
