After the title flyby--with a musical score that gets my vote for a (TOMBIE
{the Golden Lara}) for best musical score for a level--you slide down a small
embankment into the entrance of a cave. Head into the cave til you come to some
water. Dive into the water and swim through the tunnel before you, surface,
exit the water and go over to the column to your direct right and use the
jumpswitch. Next head over to the left(squashing spiders along the way) and the
lower of the two blocks. With your back to the lower block and facing the
taller block, backflip onto the lower block and jump/grab/pull up to the taller
block. Now face the open gate and run/jump/grab/pullup. Once you are through
the open gate you are in a room with four vases, two open gates and a closed
gate that looks to need a Pharaoh's Knot and a Pharaoh's Root to open it.
Let's go through the
right gate and down the stairs past the next open gate til we come to a
"T" crossing. At the "T" crossing spikes start popping up
& down looking to
block your way down either side. Well, spikes have never stopped our daring
adventuress before, so carry on. This time we will head off to the left. Well, there
are two ways to get past the spikes. 1)Notice the slanted floor on either side
of the spikes? 2) Time the spikes and sprint past the spikes. Well, start
jumping to & fro or sprint til you come to a safe spot to rest. Once you
are at the safe spot, turn to your right and notice more spikes (such a
diabolical mind to have constructed such a place) that you have to get past.
When you get to the next safe spot, turn right again and confront yet more
spikes (with all of these spikes, it makes one wonder about the people
responsible for building this place). After making it to the next safe spot,
rest a bit and notice the opening just past the next set of spikes, we need to
go there.
So, when you make it
to the next safe spot, ignore the passage to your right, go through the
opening, turn left and use the wall switch. After a flyby of the large gate,
opening the one you passed on your way to this room, head back to the large
gate; but since the spikes make it unsafe to go back the way you came, exit the
room and turn left and go that way. Turn right at the next safe spot and get
ready to beat the spikes again, and keep going til you get to the large open
gate. Once there, go through and use the wall switch and watch a flyby of
another gate opening. Now head back out the gate and turn right and then right
again, take two more rights. Once you make it to the next safe spot, go through
the now open gate, use the wall switch and watch the flyby of another gate
opening.
Now, if you have been
keeping track of the gates then you know which one was just opened, so go
there. Once you get to and go through the gate, go around the column and use
the wall switch there. Turn around and slide down the ramp, jumping at the last
second to avoid the spikes at the bottom. However, once you are through the
gate you opened with the last wallswitch, a giant spider attacks, so deal with
it. When the spider is disposed of, head over to each corner of the room, climb
the pole, backflip into the alcove, turn around, jump back/grab the ledge, drop
and use the jumpswitch.
Once the last
jumpswitch has been activated, head over to where the cage held the pedestal
with the Pharaoh's Knot and get it, but jump back quickly or be squashed by a
ball coming down the ramp. After the coast is clear, head up the ramp to the
next room. When you get to the next room turn around and jump back/grab and
shimmy to your right.
Now calculate where the slanted block is (the one you saw as you entered this
room), then pull up/backflip/twist/grab/pull up onto the block. Now
run/jump/slide/jump/grab to the next block you can stand on. Once there turn to
your left and jump over to the green area. Turn right and go into the cave.
When you get to a locked gold gate that needs a key, turn around and
jump/grab/pull up to the ledge. Once you have pulled yourself up, turn to the
right and jump over the hole where you came into this room. Now head on into
this part of the cave, taking out spiders and bats that cross your path, while
getting the key from the back of this cave. After the key is in Lara's
possession, go and open the gold gate. Go through the gate and you notice that
the gate to your left leads back to the room with the Pharaoh's Knot door, so
go and place the one you have.
Now we need to go and
get the next Pharaoh's Root, so head through the other open gate and up the
stairs. When you get to the top, go through the next open gate, turn right and
head up the next set of stairs. But, stop on the second step, turn right,
run/jump to the ledge where the wall switch is. Use the switch and watch the
flyby of double doors opening up somewhere. Now for the hard part, the door is
all the way at the top of this room and it is on a timer, so get back on the
stairs and head up. Go to the top of the stairs, turn right, walk to the edge,
jump/grab/pull up onto the walkway. Go forward a bit, turn right and jump over
to the next walkway.
Next,
run/jump/grab/pull up to the stairs before you and go to the top of them and
turn right with your back all the way against the wall. Now run/jump/grab/pull
up to the next walkway. Once there, go over to the block and get on top of it.
When you get over to the next walkway you notice a closed gate to your left,
one ahead of you and a cage to your right with a place for a hand of whoever.
Jump over to the walkway where the other closed gate is. Turn right and
run/jump/grab/pull up onto the ledge before you. Turn right and run/jump to the
steps and go to the top and run/jump to the walkway, turn right and run into
the door. As you enter the next room a demi-god attacks, so get rid of him and
get the star thingy and the key he drops. When you pick up the key where the
demi-god fell, the doors close, so you need the key to not only open the big
doors again, but to open the gold door next to the big doors (as seen in the
flyby when you use the key).
Exit the room and go
to the now open gold door, turn left and jump to the wall and climb down to the
next room. When you get to the next room, notice the openings to your left and
to the right next to an alcove with a wall switch and the cage to your right
also. Use the wallswitch and watch a flyby of the cage you saw on your way to
the top of the room opening. Now turn around, then turn to your left down the
passage til you come to another wall switch by a closed gate. Use the wall
switch and go through the open gate and place the star in the slot. After you
see in a flyby the cage in the lower room you just came from, head back there.
Once you are where the
cage was, jump and grab the wall and climb up. When you get up the wall a bit,
backflip and slide down the ramp backwards and grab the edge. Pull up, backflip
again and slide to the bottom. Once you are at the bottom, spiders come out to
play, so give them a timeout and continue on. Head to the way the spiders came
from. towards the opening. But watch out for momma spider, because she is
pissed that you disposed of her young. Once she has joined her offspring, go to
the opening. As you enter this next room, you notice that there is an opening to
your right where the sounds of spikes are heard going up & down. The
opening to your left leads to a slope with a slope in front of it and a spike
pit below.
Take the left opening
first, slide/jump/grab/pull up/backflip and turn around (piece of cake), now go
through the crawlspace and use both the wall switch and the button, then drop
down to the room below. Now go over to the opening on your right, turn around
drop/grab/let go and land in front of another wall switch. After you use the
wall switch, turn to your right and go through the crawlspace. Once you are in
this new passage, notice the wall switch and the keyhole to your right and the
closed gate at the end of the small passage. Use the wallswitch and head back
out to the spikeroom, where a cage has risen below another wallswitch.
Go use the wall
switch, then jump back to the crawlspace and use the wall switch there to lower
the cage to reveal another crawlspace. When you go through the next crawlspace
and are able to stand, head to your right and go through the next
crawlspace. Stand, use the wall switch, go to the crawlspace to your left, get
the key and go over to the small passage to use the key. The gate beside the
keyhole opens, go in and use the button on the wall next to the crawlspace, then
go through the crawlspace and use the wall switch there. Now go back to the
small passage and use the wall switch again, then go back to the spike room. To
your right is another raised cage; go and get on top of it, then jump to the
cage where the wall switch is, then over to the now open gate. Once you are
through the opening go to the second right, shoot the vase and step on the
tile. Now exit here and turn right, then left, then right, then slightly left
and shoot the vase, step on the tile. Exit here and turn right, then left, then
right and use the button on the wall. Then exit here, turn left, then left
again and go through the open door.
Once you are through the door, head to your left and jump up into the
passage to your right next to the golden gate and pick up the key there. Continue
on through this tiny passage, jump down, then head left and left around the
corner, then look to your left high on the wall past the next golden gate and
see an alcove. Jump up into the alcove and pull the push/pull block there out
all the way. Then turn and exit, turn left, left at the corner and shoot the
giant spider. In the alcove where the spider emerged from is a wall switch, so
go and use it.
You hear the sound of a gate opening up, so exit here, turn left, then
left at the corner, then left through the open gate. Now head over to the
push/pull block and pull it out all the way, then exit here, turn left, then
right and use the wall switch. Now exit back through the gate and turn left,
then left at the corner, then left through the next open gate.
Next push the push/pull block on your left all the way in, then pull the
other push/pull block all the way out. Exit here, turn right, then right at the
corner, then right through the open gate and push the push/pull block all the
way in. Now pull the other push/pull block out once, exit here, turn left/then
left at the corner, then left through the open gate and take the second right
and use the wall switch. Exit, then turn left, then left at the corner, then
left through the open gate high in the wall. Go forward, then right, then left,
fall down to the pit below, turn around and get the key. Now go back to the
closed gate you past and use the keys to open it.
Go through the open
gate and open the ceiling door. Climb up, deal with the demi-god and turn
around and go get the Pharaoh’s Root and exit this area by the open door
directly across from you. Slide down into the water below. Surface, exit the
water and you find you are back in the first room of this temple. So get
through the open gate up high, the way you did before, and go and place the
Pharaoh's Root in the slot by the big gate. Go through the gate, turn left, go
up the broken stairs til you can jump up to the walkway above. Once there, turn
right and go towards the big doors which will open when you get near them. Go
through and to the right, then head to the clearing and watch the flyby as you
exit the temple, then the level ends.
