Planet of the Ancients
Two bugs were reported shortly afer release of this level.

First of all my apologies for any inconvenience caused by these bugs.

All you need do is replace the Planet.tr4 with the new one in this archive.

Savegames. Previous savegames may or may not work. Sometimes they work, sometimes they crash
the level. I suggest the level be restarted from the beginning. Sorry.

If anyone is interested (particularly level builders) please read on.
Since the bugs were reported, I have done extensive retests to try figure out why they were
missed in the original beta tests.
This weekend I have had three people (including myself) testing this game.
The game was played from the start to the point where the second bug occurs.
The only concession I gave was to provide players with the six-shooter and plenty of
ammo at the beginning of the level to speed up testing.
The level was tested a total of 11 times.
Here are the results.

Flyby camera bug.
After a certain flyby the game goes into 'video' screen and you are unable to proceed.
This bug did not occur every time the game was played. It happened 4 times out of the eleven.
No idea why this happened, the set up in the level editor was correct.

Flipmap bug.
This was where a flipmap triggered prematurely turning water into ice, making it impossible
 for the player to proceed.
Out of the eleven times played this bug only occurred four times.
In further tests using cheat DOZY mode without ever saving and loading, this bug never occured.

Conclusion
I am certainly not making excuses for myself, but it seems to me these two bugs are level editor
bugs. It seems that incorrect information, particularly as regards the on/off state of flipmaps
is saved. After researching this I found that this is a documented bug, but usually only occurs
after the flipmap has been triggered. For example if a 'dry' room is flipped into a 'water'
room, then subsequently saved and reloaded, the water room can sometimes revert back to the 'dry'
unflipped state.
I could find no logical reason why this flipmap triggered prematurely. Technically the set up was correct.
Builders, beware flipmaps. Because it is a bug, it makes sense to provide a means of reflipping the
flipman if the player is unfortunate enough to experience this bug,
I will certainly bear this in mind in future levels.
Once again many apologies to players who have encountered these bugs. If you have to start the level again, it may be of some solace to you that I have done this 4 times this weekend.:-}
