WHAT THESE LEVELS ARE ABOUT
---------------------------
"About 2500 years ago a giant bolt of fire came falling down from the skies above... 
Strange beings emerged from the wreckage. 
Local inhabitants of this desolate mountain region came to worship these beings 
as gods and and built shrines and temples to honor these beings. 
The Denboche cult was born."

"Lara Croft, daughter of Lord Hensingly Croft, was raised to be an aristocrat from birth.
After attending finishing school at the age of 21, Lara's marriage into wealth had
seemed assured, but on her way home from a skiing trip her chartered plane had crashed deep 
in the heart of the Himalayas. The only survivor, Lara learned how to depend on her wits to 
stay alive in hostile conditions a world away from her sheltered upbringing. Two 
weeks later when she walked into the village of Tokakeriby her experiences had had a 
profound effect on her..."

This adventure is my interpretation of what happened during those two weeks.


9 PLAYABLE LEVELS AND 3 CUTSCENES
---------------------------------
The two levels of HIMALAYAN MYSTERIES - PART 1 have been revised and are now levels 2 and 4.

1. Cutscene 1
	The planecrash caused by the artefact in the cargobay.
2. Crashed
	New level which focusses on finding survival gear.
3. Cutscene 2
	Dressed up warm and ready to go out.
4. Icy Waters
	A revised level that was also part of HIMALAYAN MYSTERIES - PART 1
	It has new textures and a more Tibetan atmosphere: I replaced the huts with
	Tibetan style houses. It also has some slight gameplay changes.
5. Denboche Monastery
	This was the title of the second level of HIMALAYAN MYSTERIES - PART 1 but
	it is now a completely new level. 
	It takes place in a Tibetan Monastery hidden within a mountain.
6. Tannhauser Gate
	This is a revised version of the second level of HIMALAYAN MYSTERIES - PART 1.
	It has new textures, the hut has been replaced by a small monastery type building
	and the gameplay has been changed slightly. 
	I added an extra puzzle and some extra traps.
7. Frozen in Time - Settlement
	A completely new level that takes place in an underground alien settlement.
8. Frozen in Time - To the Starship
	A completely new level that continues to take place in the underground alien settlement.
9. Yavi'ny Starship - Beginnings
	This is also a new level and it takes place inside the alien spaceship.
	It is a very short level and the main goal is to get the Anti-Gravity Belt.
10. Yavi'ny Starship - Engineering
	This level also takes places inside the spaceship.
	The area Lara visits in this level are mainly the 'engineering'rooms, 
	like water/fuel control and wind/air control.
11. Yavi'ny Starship - Hydroponics
	This level also takes places inside the spaceship.
	In this part Lara will visit the Hydroponic Gardens which are basically the foodsupply
	for the alien.
12. Cutscene 3
	The end.

* Alternative load	- inside this folder you can find several larger versions of the load.bmp
			  You can choose whatever resolution works best for you and copy 
			  it into the main TRLE folder.
* Data			- folder containing all the xx.tr4 files and the uklogo.pak
* Audio             	- folder containing xx.ogg files.
* tomb4.exe		- Patched tomb4.exe. The game won't run properly without this.
* Setup Tomb4		- a shortcut to the setup of the game.
* empty 'Save' folder	- needed to make saving the game possible. 
			  You won't be able to save the game without it.
* bass.dll		- file needed to make the tomb4.exe play the xx.ogg audio files
* readme.txt		- the file you are reading now.
* IMPORTANT.txt		- additional important information about new moves, setup and known bugs/issues.
* Lara Speech.txt	- here you can find the things Lara and other characters say, 
			  in case you have difficulty hearing what has been said.
* Secrets Guide.rtf	- A secret guide. You won't find out where you can find the secrets in this game,
			  but it tells you about the secret system and the meaning of the used symbols.
* Secrets Guide.txt	- Less fancy version of the .trf. ;-)



INSTALLATION
------------
- STANDALONE
This levelset can be played as a standalone levelset.
This is the easiest way to play this levelset since you won't have to move files around.
Simply run the tomb4.exe and the game will play.

- INSTALL IN TRLE FOLDER
But you can also install the files in your installed TRLE folder.
The files then need to be placed as follows:                       

* Replace the english.dat, script.dat and script2.dat in the TRLE main directory   
  with the ones from this zipfile. 
* Replace the load.bmp in the TRLE main directory with the load.bmp from this zipfile. 
* Move ALL the tr4 files located in the "Data" folder to the 
  "LevelEditor\graphics\Data" folder.
* Replace the uklogo.pak in the "Data" folder with the uklogo.pak file from this zipfile.
* Copy the xx.ogg files located in the "Audio" folder into the "LevelEditor/Audio" folder.

TIPS AND TRICKS
---------------
- 	LARA SPEECH:
	Lara sometimes says things. Her words can be meaningless but they can also
	provide useful tips, so listen carefully to what she has to say!
	Check out the Lara speech.txt to read what she is saying. ;-)

-	NEW MOVES: 
	1. the 'crawlspace roll' she could do in TR5-Chronicles
	   	Position Lara face forward to the exit of the crawlspace. 
		Make sure she is in crawling position.
		Press ALT and Lara will perform the roll! 
		So no more turning around in those tight crawlspaces
	   	in order to get out!
	2. 180-degree-turn-on-monkeybars move
		When hanging on monkeybars, press 'END' to make Lara perform a 180 degree turn.
	3. Swingpole
		Lara can use horizontal bars to swing on.
		- Jump and grab the pole, and Lara will hang from it.
		  The first swinging animation takes a while to be completed. 
		  You can start pressing buttons for Lara to perform a certain move 
		  WHEN SHE IS HANGING STILL.
		  So be patient and don't worry if she does not perform a move right away. 
		- Press ARROW DOWN to make her perform a 180 degree turn.
		- Press ALT to make her perform another type of 180 degree turn. ;-)
		- Press ARROW UP to make Lara start swinging around. Lara will keep swinging 
		  as long as you keep CTRL and ARROW UP pressed.
		- While swinging around, let go of ARROW UP or CTRL and Lara will jump off.
		  Lara will be able to grab a next pole, a ledge or a jumpswitch when you press CTRL in midair.
	4. Another crawlspace roll
		This move enables Lara to roll through crawlspaces, which is quicker than crawling 
		through.
		- Put Lara in a kneeling position by pressing the spacebar once.
		- Then press the 'SPRINT' button to make her perform the roll.

- 	If a door closes behind Lara after a timed run, Lara needs to push the switch twice to
  	open the door again. I don't know why this is, but I needed to place the switches anyway
 	to prevent the player from getting stuck in certain rooms.

-	Some pushable objects are climbable, others are not.



KNOWN ISSUES
------------
See also the IMPORTANT.txt for more KNOWN ISSUES. 
- Depending on your graphics card you might experience transparent and shiny textures 
  turning white when viewed from a great distance. (eg. watertextures and windows textures)

- If a door closes behind Lara after a timed run, Lara needs to push the switch twice to
  open the door again.

- The fish and the monks are harmless and can't be killed.
  However, Lara still targets them for some reason... 
  TREP has been used to make these friendly creatures invincible. ;-)
