Lara is in the forest in Belize and she's exploring a mysterious Mayan pyramid looking for a legendary crystal skull.
But something happened in the sky over a wide forest...

In these levels you'll find several riddles and, sometimes, you'll have to quest information and clues out of the game (e.g. on Wikipedia).
If you don't like maths and logical puzzles or treasure hunts you'd better change your game.
If you want to deal with this long Lara's adeventure you'll find several clues and informations in "readme.txt" file.

A. INSTALLATION DETAILS
------------------------

1. Unzip "isdcp.zip";
2. In order to play the english version open the "ENGLISH" folder, copy the files english.dat, load.bmp and the folder "fmvs" and paste all them in the main directory (there's a loss of quality in fmvs with subtitles. I'm very sorry);
3. Copy the file uklogo.pak in "ENGLISH" folder and replace it in "data" folder;
4. Launch "tomb4.exe" and happy raiding.

B. NOTES
--------

1. Before starting the game DISABLE VOLUMETRIC FX!
2. SOMETIME THE ENGINE CAN'T START FMVS: a notice informs you when a video is going to start, but, anytimes it doesn't begin or, at its end, the game doesn't start again. If you should have these issues open the folder "emergency script", copy "script.dat" in this folder and replace the one in the main directory (if issues still stand and you can't watch any video in-game, you can exit the game and find every video in "FMVs" folder); if you can't start again the game and you get a dark screen at the end of any video, you can press "Esc".
3. These levels are not made and are not supported by Core Design Ltd. and Eidos interactive.
4. These levels must not be modified, sold, rented, leased or commercially exploited in any way.
5. If you distribute this level this readme file must be included. If you put this level for download on your website please let me know.
6. Save frequently and use different slots!
7. Explore carefully every place.

C. LEVELS:
----------

First of all there's an intro cutscene then you can start the first level:


Chapter 1: The Mysterious Pyramid
---------------------------------

1. There are 3 secrets

2. You need to know mayan numbers to solve some riddles. You can see them on a scroll you'll find somewhere in the pyramid, but you can also find them on Wikipedia: "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maya_numerals".

3. Some problem with pushable objects might occour: sometimes Lara enters these ones, but if she stands on their border she can push them (press CTRL).

4. There are some trouble with fixed camera: when Lara triggers one of them by pulling a lever the camera don't go back to her, so you must let her jump on one side or backward.

5. When Lara's climbing a wall and she turn a corner the camera doesn't follow her: press the key "watch" and everything should be all right.


Chapter 2: The Crystal Skull
----------------------------

1. There's no secret.
2. fmv3.mpg will be played.


Chapter 3: Lost Paradises
-------------------------

1. In this level there are 3 secrets.
2. Let Thalien/gude goes ahead and follow her; You can explore the places you are going to cross and the guide/Thelien will wait for you.
3. fmv2.mpg will be played.
4. Probably Lara won't be able to pull out her weapons when you press the space-bar. In this case, at the beginning of level, open the inventory (press "Esc"), select the pistols and "EQUIP". Now Lara can extract her weapons again when you just press the space-bar.


Chapter 3: Lost Paradises (part II)
-----------------------------------

1. It's just a cutscene. No secrets.
2. I made the textures of this level using pictures I found on the website: http://fantasyartdesign.com/


Chapter 4: Telengard
--------------------

Another cutscene. No secrets.


Chapter 5: The Forbidden Town
-----------------------------

1. In this level you can find just one (but big) secret and to reach it you'll have to explore the whole town from top to bottom, fight many enemies and solve some riddles. You won't find any medipacks, weapons and ammo in the town. So you can choose to reach the king's palace as soon as possible and to end this level without wasting what is in your inventory, or you can look for the only big secret.

In order to find the secret you'll have to solve some riddles too: you'll have to be patient, you'll have to watch carefully and reflect and probably you'll need a paper and a pencil.
Above all in a room you'll find 8 pulley to open different doors, but just beyon one of these ones you'll find a puzzle to reach the secret: first of all you'll have to find the riddle of the pulley. Don't pull the ropes randomly, because, as soon as you'll pull the wrong trigger you won't be able to open the right doorany more.
To find the solution you'll need a paper and a pencil, try and try and check by the text of the riddle if your solution is right.
Then there is a large underwater room with 7 levers which open an underwater tunnel, but each lever can close or open again other gates. You'd better save before starting, then try to pull a lever and to watch on which doors it has an effect, then reload the save, pull another lever and watch which doors are closed and so on.

2. Sometimes sounds don't work correctly.

Chapter 6: Feanor's Palace
--------------------------

1. In this level you can find 4 secrets (and now you can find medipacks, ammo and weapons in many places!)

2. There are some riddles to solve too.
This is the riddle of dragons:

Forests' Dragons always tell the truth.
Fire's Dragons always lie.
Ice's Dragons alternate a truth and a lie,
either starting off with a truth or with a lie.
Only Fire's Dragon can open the gate.
Ask to every dragon:
"How many dragons come from forests?"
"Where do you come from?"
"From where does the dragon on your right come?"
And compare their answers.

		1. Two - Ice - Forests.

Watch which dragon says it's caming from the forest (it should tell always the truth): there are 3 dragons telling they are coming from the forests; now by comparing their answers and the ones of the other dragons look for contraddictions you'll be able to understand the real place they come from.
For instance dragon # 2 tells it comes from the forests, the forests' dragons are two, and the dragons on its right, the dragon # 1, is a fire's dragon. What dragon # 1's telling is untrue. But its first answer is the same of dragon # 2 and so it contraddicts dragon # 2.

3. You'll need to know something about chess to solve the chess riddle. You have to know chess movements, strategy and tactics. You can find them on Wikipedia:

Another advice: knight is ofeten used in "forks" or double attacks.

4. Sometimes sounds don't work correctly.

5. If in the same room there are many cases containig pickup object, you can find the same objects in different cases (even if it was placed just in one case).

6. At the end of the level the first part of the game finishes (as you can read on your screen): exit the game, open the folder "Vol II" and copy the files English. dat and Script.dat in the main directory.
NOW DON'T USE PREVIOUS SAVEGAMES!!! Or a crash might occour (delete the old savegames or overwrite them).


Vol. II
-------

Now the main character of the game is Thalien, as you can realize watching the first cutscene.
She has the same anomations and controls of Lara, but objects in inventory will change.
There is the compass, but cardinal points are in elven language (sindarin - "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sindarin"):
North = Forn
East = Rhn
South = Har-, Harn
West = Dn
And the symbols are in runic letters or cirth ("https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cirth").
There's no weapons in inventory, except for the bow, Thalien uses Wound Charms and she don't need ammo but "Astral Energies".
Wound Charms are instead of guns and "Empowered Wound charms" (and "Empowered Astral Energies") are instead of Uzi (and their ammo). They look very different from classic weapons: "Empowered Wound charms" are a glove, and "Empowered Astral Energies" are transparent little spheres with many tips.
Light Crystals are instead of flares (and you have to watch very carefully to see them!).
There are no medipacks but Healing potions.
Then there is a scroll named "Charm of Vision" instead of binoculars.

After the opening cutscene there are the levels to play.


Vol. II - Chapter 1: The Vault
------------------------------

1. In this level, at one point, the path forks in two different routes; each player can follow a differnt path, find different trials and a different number of secrets: on one route there's one secret more, so, at the end of level the player can get 3 or 4 secrets depending on the way he/she has chosen.
2. Secrets are spheres made of different metals (gold, silver and bronze) and they are needed to start the next bonus level (see later).
3. In the first room of the level you can find lara's weapons (guns, shotgun and uzis), Thalien can pick up them, but she can't use them (see what explained before).
4. In each route you'll find some riddle to solve, you'll have to understand where and how place some things or in which order pull some levers. For levers riddle you'll have to find a riddle axplanation ad then try to solve it (probably you'll need one pencil and one paper). There are seven levers to pull in a correct order, the riddle tells you which lever is in the middle of the series and, beginning from this one, think which levers must be pulled before and later this one.
5. There are many bas relieves representing different fantastic creatures (dragons, unicorns, griffins and so on). On one of these two centaurs with bows and arrows are depicted; on another one another monster is depicted, it looks like a centaur, but it has membranous wings and a long tail like a reptile, so it's not a centaur.
6. Right route: Levers' riddle:
"The dragon is 3 places after the winged horse,
the basilisk is in the middle of the series
and the winged horse is 2 places before the basilisk.
The unicorn comes after the basilisk so many places as
those ones the centaurs are before the dragon.
And the griffin comes in the series before the unicorn.
Pull the levers in the right order."
7. Left route: Griffins' riddle
"Griffins' gaze will dry the eceeding water."
8. When Thalien will reach a tight rope a mysterious and invisible barrier could stop her. So let her walking near a wall until she will reach the border, then move her in the middle of the window where she'll be able to walk on the tight rope.


Vol. II - Bonus: Sunset in Glorindal
------------------------------------

1. This is a bonus level and you can start it if you have just picked up three different spheres (secrets) in the previous level (a golden one, a silver one and a bronze one).
2. In this level there are 3 secrets.
3. You can explore this town as long as you like: from top to bottom to find all the artifacts and the secrets, or if you can't, you can come back and go on the game and look for Lara).
4. WARNING: Sometimes, after you solved the jigsaw puzzle, it may not happen anything. That might happen in case you placed one block (or more) in the exact position, then you moved it to push another one and later you repositioned it again in its seat. In this case push it once more, then replace it in its position.
Don't save and load again the game until the blocks are all in their positions.


Vol. II - Chapter 2: The Lord Of Glorindal
------------------------------------------

1. This level isn't wide, so there are no secrets.
2. Store about 10 explosive arrows in your inventory to use them after you'll have beaten Feanor: you'll need them to fight a lot of enemies that will appear now. If you shot explosive arrows now (10 arrows are more than enough) you'll gain easily the end of level and also the end cutscene will work better.
3. At the beginning of this level you can watch a FMV: FMV 4. If any issue can occours open the "vol II" folder, where is a second "emergency script" containing another "script.dat" file: copy it in the main directory; if, at the end of the FMV, you see a dark screen and you can't go back the game press "Esc"


Vol. II - Chapter 3: Races' Council

That's the end cutscene. There are no secrets.
