To save time I shall not mention all the enemies you can find in this
adventure, except if they drop something when they die. The game is non-linear
and complex, and you have to jump between levels several times and you can do
the tasks in any order; I'll try to advance through the game the best I can,
but it doesn't mean that this could be the best and fastest way. [End note]

LEVEL
1 - THE BEGINNING (first time)
Entering the castle
Slide down the ramp and turn left. Do you see the small green plant SW? Take
a running jump there and pick up the Old Key. Slide to the bottom and go to the
NW part of the castle to pick up a small medipack in front of a grey door. Turn
around and go S and E to find flares near the tree at the NE. Use a flare to
discover a moveable block in the N wall under the right shield with two swords.
Pull it back and aside to enter into the castle.
Two blue balls
After the flyby turn right and use the Old Key in the keyhole to open
the trapdoor. Drop there and go west into the sewers. Jump into the water and
pick up the first Blue Ball in the S side; exit through the opening in the NW
corner. At the end pull the switch to open the door and shoot the thug to take
his shotgun shells. Pull the nearby switch to open the large grated S doors. Go
to either side and up the stairs, left and left again to the arched catwalk. In
the SW corner position Lara facing SW and do a tricky running jump through the
arch and over the sloped roof to land in the other side and discover SECRET
#1: crossbow arrows and a large medipack. Pull the
switch in the SW corner to open a trapdoor near the grated doors. Go to the
border of the roof (right side) and facing W do a backflip to slide back on the
other side, grab the edge of the roof and safety drop to the floor. Go up the
stairs again and return to the same arch in the SW corner. This time angle Lara
S-SE, do a running jump through the arch and over the roof, slide and jump at
the last moment with a left curve to land on a small roof in S wall; pull the
jumpswitch in E wall to open a door at the right side of the stairs. Go there
and pick up the second Blue Ball. Go up the stairs again, but this time go
through the N passage and on either side to a large courtyard. On the E ledge
near the right stairs there is a small medipack. Place the balls in the hands
to open the grated door.
Entering into the main courtyard
Go up the stairs and pick up flares and shotgun shells on both sides of
the archway. Go through the N opening and to a small courtyard with a well. Shoot
the N grate and continue to the next room. Go right and up the stairs to a
ledge with three wooden tiles. Position Lara facing NW and do a running jump
over the fence to land on the NW beam. From here, take another running jump SW
over the next fence to land on the W ledge. Notice the S wall sconce (for
later). Pull the jumpswitch behind the pillar to open a trapdoor somewhere. Jump
to the floor and through the N opening into a new courtyard. Go NW to find a
closed wooden door. Climb the N ledge and jump over the small square fence to
get crossbow arrows; on the W ledge there is a small medipack, too. Pull the
switch near the door to open it and enter. In the SW corner of this room is the
trapdoor you opened with the last jumpswitch. Continue and see a flyby of the
main courtyard. One of the thugs you shoot when entering drops a large
medipack.
The shotgun
Go right (S) and at the top of the stairs look NW: there are some green
vines on a pillar. Climb and at the top if you go left there's a corridor you
can take to return to the previous courtyards. Go up the stairs and shoot the
left barrel in the terrace to get the Timber. Now position Lara at the very NW
corner and facing E; walk one step forward, do a backflip over the W roof and
jump with a left curve to land on the N ledges behind the fence. Pick up the
shotgun shells and jump NW over the stone left of the N roofs to get SECRET
#2: the shotgun.
Preparing the way
Now walk SW till you can go no more and position Lara facing NE; jump
back so Lara lands over the W sloped roof, slide and grab the edge. The walls
of this house are climbable, so shimmy all the way left and around the corner
till Lara is facing E in the very left side of the W wall of the house. Climb a
bit and jump back to land over the roof behind. Pull the switch in the W wall
to raise a nearby block behind you. Go down to the ground floor, go E a bit and
around the corner is a jumpswitch; pull it to open the door behind you and
create a shortcut to the first courtyard. (If you missed the shotgun secret,
after pulling this jumpswitch you can go to the vines in the SW side of the
main courtyard, go down to the previous courtyard and use that door to grab the
climbable wall of the house).
Another Old Key
Now that we need to return to the small courtyard with the well, we are
going to use the opportunity to get the next secret. Go to the main courtyard
and to the S building with a barrel to the right of its door. Shoot the barrel
to discover a bunch of torches. Pick up one of them and return to the place
where you came from (where you used the last jumpswitch). Use the raised block
to climb near the W high switch; position Lara to the right of the switch facing
NE-E and take a standing jump to hopefully land over the roof. Go to the very
SE corner of the roof and do a running jump SE to land into the opening in S
wall with your torch in hand. Go down and to the next S courtyard, up the
stairs and light the torch in the corner; continue up and jump to the beam and
to the W ledge behind the fence like you did before; light the wall sconce in
the corner, a block lowers to your left. Throw the torch and go there to find SECRET
#3: the first Secret Passage Key and uzi clips. Pull the
switch and see a trapdoor opening somewhere. Go out of here and to the right;
if you follow the path E and N you'll find shotgun ammo in the NE corner. Go
down the stairs and through the S opening to the small courtyard with the well.
Using the timber in the W side of the well a bucket goes up and you can pick up
an Old Key from the S side.
Raising some blocks
Go to the next courtyard N and at the NE corner is the door you can open
with the new key. Enter and continue till you arrive in a room with a switch
(notice the closed door with a keyhole for later). Pull the switch to open the
door and make a shortcut to the main courtyard; kill the thug and pick up the
small medipack he drops. Now go up the stairs to a room with barrels and a terrace
(notice another keyhole in the right side for later). Climb the W wall of the
terrace and run S through the narrow passage to the end, pick up the crossbow
arrows and climb the W wall. There is a timed wall switch behind a pillar. Pull
it and quickly run around the pillar and jump over the central fence to land on
a raised trapdoor; turn left and pull the high jumpswitch in the N side of this
pillar: a block rises somewhere. Enjoy the nice view from this position and
make your way to return to the bottom of the main courtyard. (I jumped from the
terrace into the pool below.) Under the E arches is that block; use it to climb
the E ledge, go S and pull the switch near the crossbow arrows to raise another
block somewhere.
A Bunch of Keys
Go N and down to the floor; run a bit W and to the right there are
stairs behind some brown pillars; go up to find the raised block. At the top of
the stairs turn right and jump onto the S stone catwalk; go all the way W and
look for a jumpswitch in the N side of a stone pillar; pull it to open the
trapdoor above the raised block. Go there and climb into a new room. There is a
small medipack in a window sill. Go outside and pick up uzi clips in the NE
corner. Approaching the N grate you can see some keys at the other side. Climb
the N wall near the NW corner (highest block) and do a banana jump N to land in
another terrace. Pick up a large medipack and a Bunch of Keys. If you
discovered the first Secret Passage Key, the trapdoor must be open and you can
safety drop to the small hole with water below; if not, you can use the green
vines in the E side of the terrace, or jump with grab into a window sill in the
S wall near the vines to minimize the damage.
The crossbow
Once down, notice the crowbar door near the small trees NE (for later). A
bit further in the N wall there is a crack over a window; grab it, shimmy right
till you can pull up into a crawlspace and go in to find the small waterskin. Go
back outside. Go E and S to the very end, pick up the large medipack and look for
a moveable block in the S wall. Pull it out and drag it to the NW corner of the
tiled floor. Climb onto the block and jump SW to grab a crack in the S wall;
shimmy to the right and pull up into the window sill to get the crossbow. Now
you can go back to the place when the block was and move some more blocks (you
can take all blocks outside if you want) to pick up crossbow arrows at the SE
corner of the small room.
The Bronze Ball
Go back to the main courtyard and at the beginning of the first passage
to the right (where the house with the climbable walls is) there are two
barrels, one N and one S behind a grate; shoot the grate under the barrel in
the S wall; it falls and breaks the other barrel N, making a small pool where
you can fill your waterskin now. Once it's filled, go into the S building with
the torches at the entrance. Use the Bunch of Keys in the keyhole in front of
the entrance. Go outside and pick up a torch; enter again and go up the stairs
to light the torch in the wall sconce in front of the barrels. Go down again
and now you can enter through the open door. You'll arrive in a room with four
wall sconces; look the tiles under them: two are deadly traps and another two
lower a block in the same room, revealing a switch. (I'll let you discover by
yourself which ones are the traps). Pull the switch to open the S door and take
the torch with you. Left of the entrance there are uzi clips. Down the stairs
there is a pedestal with a Bronze Ball; pick it up and continue E through the
dark corridors.
The First Bullet of Glory
You arrive at a room with steps up and down. Take a running jump SE to
land over the steps, walk a bit E and light the first wall sconce; turn around
and go down till you find the second wall sconce in a corner. It's a bit tricky
to light this one, 'cause there is not a tile under it; position Lara in the NW
corner of the tile next to the pillar and move her a bit left or right,
hopefully she will light the second wall sconce. Go now to the bottom of this
pit and light the third wall sconce near the final steps: the door at your back
opens. Enter and pull the switch to raise a block at the very top of the
stairs; go there and climb the ladder. Save the game and position Lara over one
of the corners of the tile with the burning item and use your waterskin; if
you're lucky the fire turns off, if not, reload and try again (I got it facing
SE). Once the fire is gone you can see a flyby of the place where you must go
now, so pick up the first Bullet of Glory and some uzi clips in the corner and
go back to the main courtyard. Go in a NW direction and finally W through the
corridor where the house with climbable walls is. At the end use the Bronze
Ball in the hand behind the raised block to open the door up. Go there and
enter the...
LEVEL 2 - DEEP
IMPRESSION (first time)
The Barrel Opening Key
You begin in a place which I'll call "the main courtyard" (of
the second level, of course). Run in a NE direction and in the next area turn
right and go up the E ramp; once up, go E jumping over the gap and at the end
pick up the Barrel Opening Key. You see a screenshot of a room with barrels,
but this room is in the first level, so retrace your steps and return through
the corridor you came here to the first level.
LEVEL 1 - THE
BEGINNING (second time)
The crowbar
Go to the main courtyard and again into the S building with the torches
at the entrance. Go up the stairs and use the new key in the keyhole to the
right. One of the barrels to your left opens; go there and pick up the crowbar
from its inside. Go back to the main courtyard and cross it all the way to the
N, where the small fountain is, in the area with the grassy floor. Use the
crowbar to open the door near the small trees (do you remember?) and enter to
get SECRET #4: a large medipack in the window sill. Pulling
the switch to open the trapdoor you can go to the second floor to get the
second Secret Passage Key. Retrace your steps and go all the way back to level
2.
LEVEL 2 - DEEP
IMPRESSION (second time)
Dealing with the waters
In the main courtyard, open the E crowbar door to the left of the big wooden
doors near the entrance of the level. Advance and see the flyby. Jump into the
water and get the Bullet of Glory. A bit N and in the W wall there is an
underwater door; open it and dive straight to the end and left to get flares;
turn around and dive N almost to the end and up to emerge in a small pool. Go
up the N stairs but only to the middle, where the corner of the pillar is; turn
left and do a standing jump to grab the edge of the W high ledge. This is a
tricky jump; you must position Lara even a bit behind the pillar to get it. Once
up turn left and do a running jump to grab the S pillar, shimmy left and around
the corner and do a backflip with twist to grab the E pillar, shimmy left and
around two corners and do a backflip to land in a small alcove; use your
crowbar to get the Valve Wheel. Go down and use the wheel in the NE corner
block. An underwater door opens somewhere. Jump into the pool, dive down the
hole to the bottom; go left, left and right to find the open door. Dive and you
arrive in another water room. Behind the NW pillar there are shotgun shells,
behind the NE pillar is an underwater lever; pull it to raise the level of the
water and go up to get the Tower Key. Go out of the water through the W
opening.
The bowman's puzzle
In this new room there are green tiles and red tiles. Walk only over the
green tiles to disable the spikes under the switch, the red tiles are fire
traps. Pull the switch and a rope appears in the previous room. Use the rope to
swing and grab the hard-to-see pole a bit ahead from the rope; climb and
backflip into a new room. Go up the N stairs into a new room; there are two
moveable bowman statues and two switches behind the columns; the E switch raise
and lower the blocks at the sides of the stairs, the W switch is for later. So,
make your way to move the statues over the blocks to carry them to the lower
room and put them over the grey tiles in the corners of the grated floor (NW
and SE); when a statue is well placed a screenshot appears, and finally a block
lowers in the upper room.
The library
Enter and go right. A screenshot shows you a thug going out from a room
in the area where you got the valve wheel. There is a shortcut to go there
through the S opening in the room where the statues are; go there to get shotgun
shells if you want and then return to the library. In the small pool near the
pedestal for the scroll there are uzi clips. From that pedestal go NE into
another section of the library and look for a jumpswitch between the pillars in
the NE corner. Go back to the library entrance and go into the N opening; a bit
further there is a small pool with uzi clips and in front of it is the open
door. If you explore the rest of the corridor you find a room with a closed
door we'll open later. Go up the spiral stairs and in the upper floor pick up a
Curious Scroll in the NE corner. In the SW corner there is a small book you can
move to open a door in the lower floor. Go to the room with the pedestal and
place the Curious Scroll to open a trapdoor behind you; go there and pull the
switch to raise a block and open another trapdoor near the pedestal; go up
there and get uzi clips and the Library Key. Go down and through the S passage
near the pedestal. Now approach the right wall and prepare yourself for a fast
sprint to get the next secret: sprint down the ramp avoiding the swinging box
and before the rolling barrel smashes you, go into the hole in the floor at the
bottom of the ramp and quickly go through the crawlspace in front of you (it's
not very tight); there you can get SECRET #5:
the uzis and uzi clips. Pull the wall switch to open the door next to you and
another door in the room where you got the Valve Wheel, which gives you a
shortcut to return to the main courtyard. Go through the N open door up to the
library where the pedestal for the scroll is, and again through the S passage
with the swinging cage. To the left you can see the place where you can use
your Tower Key. Pull the switch to create a shortcut to the main courtyard and
pick up the small medipack in the alcove. Now you can go outside to a stone
bridge and use your key to enter the tower; to the right is a scale, and you
can see the 12 and 8 numbers in the sides so, 12-8=4 you can suppose that you
have to place 4 litres in the left side of the scale, but you have not the big
waterskin yet.
Secret areas
So, go out of the tower and go back to the library. In the room where
the two switches behind the pillars are, use the Library Key to open the N door
and this time use the timed switch behind the W pillar; quickly run through the
open door and through the timed door to the left in the next room. Now, you
have two choices:
1.- The difficult way:
Pull the wall switch to open the door to your left, go there and when
you step on the tile behind the door a spike wall starts moving from your
right. After a few seconds the door will close and spikes will appear from this
tile, killing you, so don't you waste any time, run left and use the wall
switch next to the door and escape. Go right and pull a moveable block two
times to discover an opening, which takes you to a small room with a wall
switch and a trapdoor. (Continue after the next paragraph).
2.- The easy way:
Pull the wall switch to open the door to your left, go there and step on
the tile behind the door and quickly go back before the door closes; wait for
the spikewall and the spiketrap and pull the wall switch again to calmly enter
the next room.
Don't worry about which way you choose. Go right and get SECRET
#6: a Red Gem in the window sill. Go to the room at your
back and left (leave the switch for the moment), push a moveable block two
times (in case you've chosen the easy way), pick up the flares and go to the
narrow passage behind the block to the end and get the Secret Corridor Key
(screenshot of the waterfall outside); go back to the room with the moveable
block. To the right are two sets of double doors which take you again to the
library, but for now go left to the previous room with the switch, pull it and
drop through the open trapdoor. Enter in a room with two pools and enjoy the
marvelous music. Pick up a second Secret Corridor Key (it doesn't show up in
your inventory) in the S niche and some uzi clips in one of the pools. Pull the
switch behind the grate to open a shortcut to the main courtyard where the
second Secret Corridor Key was, and continue to an outside area to pick up the
third Secret Passage Key under the gazebo.
The knight's hall keys
Go back to the room with the pools and this time use the shortcut to
land in a small room where you can pick up the first Knight's Hall Key. Continue
through a room with barrels and return to the main courtyard up the stairs. Go
straight ahead and at the end turn left to use your red gem in its receptacle. Enter
and get SECRET #7: the fourth Secret Passage Key
and a large medipack from the pool. Go out and to the left, open the crowbar
door. Go to the right passage and into a room with a dry pool. Pick up the
small medipack under the N wall arches and enter the S opening. Pull the switch
in the next room behind the central block to fill the pool. Go back to the
pool, dive in and swim through a very small opening at the bottom of S wall; at
the end pick up the second Knight's Hall Key. Go back, get out of the pool and
return to the crowbar door. This time go down the stairs. To the right there
are uzi clips on a pedestal. Run to the bottom, avoiding the barrels and the
spike wall; use the keys to open the door and kill the four knights inside; one
of them drops shotgun shells, another one a large medipack and another one a
light blue Gem. In the NE fountain there is a shotgun, and in the SW fountain
shotgun shells. Go back to the main courtyard.
A secret pasage
In the main courtyard, go through the E crowbar door to the left of the
big wooden doors near the entrance of the level. Over the wooden bridge turn
left (N) and take a running jump to land near the waterfall. Explore this small
area to find uzi clips, flares and a small medipack. Climb some ledges and go
to the E side of the long waterfall; turn right (N) and look up to see an
opening. From the very E side near the wall, take a standing jump there to find
SECRET #8: some crossbow arrows. Go back and finally
use your Secret Corridor Key in the blue keyhole to open the door. Position
Lara on the very right side of the tile before the slope and take one step
left; light a flare, slide down the first ramp and on the second ramp jump with
a left curve into a niche in the wall to get SECRET #9: a
large medipack and uzi clips. Slide now to the bottom and jump before the end
of the ramp so you don't lose time when stepping on the flat floor and can run
immediately to the left to avoid the rolling barrel behind you. Judge the time
to pass over the breakable tiles, avoiding the swords of the warriors, and
slide down the next slope to enter...
LEVEL 3 - DEEP
AWARENESS (first time)
The big cave
Use the slopes to safety drop to the bottom of the cave. If you pick up
the small medipack, the skeleton awakes and you don't have any way to kill it. Go
to the W opening and S to enter a small room; climb the wall right of the
entrance and backflip to the ledge behind; take a standing jump to grab the W
ledge and a backflip to land on a flat floor. Go S and enter into a room with
ruins; pick up the large waterskin from the pedestal and a door opens
somewhere. There are flares in the NE corner. Go a bit W from the flares and
there is a sloped ledge; position Lara facing SE near the slope and jump back,
slide and jump to grab the higher ledge supporting the columns; stand up and
get SECRET #10: shotgun shells, uzi clips and a large
medipack. Safety drop to the floor, go out of this cave and turn left; use the
ledge in the S opening to run/jump and grab the rope which appears in the
middle of the cave, turn left and swing to the ledge with the uzi clips, from
here to the top of the NW ledges to pick up shotgun shells and now through the
open door.
Back to second level
Make your way to reach the top of this pit using the ledges in the walls
and grabbing the vines (it's easy). Once up, go to the end of the corridor and
push a moveable block several times to clear the way. Go to the end of the N
passage and pick up the Little Wheel from the pedestal; turn around and take
the other way from the moveable block, run and enter again in...
LEVEL 2 - DEEP
IMPRESSION (third time)
A second light blue gem
Continue and open the double doors to find yourself in the main
courtyard of the second level. From the double doors take a NE direction and go
up the stairs, under the catwalk with the arches and through the shortcut-door
to the library (room with the swinging box). Use your waterskins in the small
pool to get 4 litres:
- Fill the big waterskin and combine it with the small.
- Empty the small waterskin.
- Combine the big waterskin with the small.
- Fill the big waterskin and combine it with the small again.
Now go back down through the room with the swinging box, but this time
go left (E) to the stone bridge. Use the Tower Key to open the door and put the
4 litres in the scale: a door opens below. Go through the hole in the floor,
pick up the shotgun shells and go through the door to get the second Light blue
Gem and a small medipack.
Returning to the third level
Go back and use the switch in the previous room to open the door and
return to the main courtyard. Use the gems to open the big double doors and
enter an outside area. There are shotgun shells in the SE corner. Go to a small
cave E and jump into the water going back, facing W. Once in the water, swim W
to a room where you can get a small medipack and some air. Now go back to the
crossing and swim N (take care with the current) and you can get SECRET
#11: uzi clips and a large medipack). Go back to the
crossing and swim W again to take a breath (you'll need it!). When you're done,
swim to the crossing and let the current take you to...
LEVEL 3 - DEEP
AWARENESS (second time)
Underwater business
You begin this part of the level in an underwater maze. The best way is
to find a small hole in the ceiling with air and from here confront the tasks. So
first go left (S), left (E) and right (S) and swim a little to find the air
hole in the ceiling. Save your game here. Now go down and E through the passage
in the floor with the brown plants and right at the end to pull an underwater
level, which opens the exit door; return to the air hole. Now go N, left (W), a
bit right and left (W), another bit right and left (W) and when you find a
green plant turn right to get SECRET #12:
flares and shotgun shells.
[Note:] There is a bug here. If you go back to the second level and
return to this place again, the secret chime sounds again and you'll get
"another" secret in your inventory. [End note]
From here, it's not necessary to return to the air hole 'cause the exit
door is already open and is nearer than the air hole. So dive S, left (E), a
bit right and left (E), right (S) and through the passage in the floor W to
find the exit. Once out of the pool, you can see a small underwater grate in
the NE corner, under the statue. Now you have two choices:
1.- Don't go back to level two any more and finish the game in this
level without having to get back to level two. In this case, you can use your
shotgun to break the grate, dive in and get the second Little Wheel.
2.- Make things a bit easier and play the game like the author intended,
returning to level two and getting the lasersight. Forget the small grate and
continue playing.
Don't worry about your choice: now you have to go to the S or to the W
to enter the main courtyard (of the third level, of course).
Another Light blue Gem
Cross the courtyard and go W towards the far gazebo; eventually the
camera view changes, showing us a jumpswitch to the left of Lara. The block
under that jumpswitch is moveable, so pull it and jump onto it to pull the
jumpswitch; a nearby door opens. Pick up the flares behind the moveable block
and the small medipack under the gazebo. From here run in a SE direction to
find the open door behind the arches. Go down the stairs and pick up shotgun
shells in the left passage. Go to the main corridor and left to enter a room
with a knight; the door closes behind you. Shoot the knight and pick up the
Light blue Gem he drops. In the E wall, near the lightened wall sconce is a
jumpswitch to open the exit door. Go back to the main courtyard.
Here you can really decide if you want to finish the game without
abandoning this third level, or play some more and do the tasks more easily. I'm
going to explain the longest and most logical way. If you don't want to abandon
the level and take the fastest way, advance to the "The Tower (I) "
section below the next paragraphs.
The Courtyard Trapdoor Key
Near the S wall of the main courtyard between the columns there is a
wooden wagon; it's moveable, so push it to discover some torches. Pick up a
torch and go back to the last place you've visited to light it in the candle or
in the mouth of the serpent. Return to the main courtyard, go left and enter
the NW building of the main courtyard. Light the two candles near the entrance
and a block rises in the NW corner of the room. Use it to climb the S ledge, go
to the end and grab the monkeyswing to go to the SE corner of the room and pick
up the Courtyard Trapdoor Key.
The lasersight (I)
Drop and go out of this building. In the N side of the courtyard pool
there is a green plant. Go there and look W and high. There is a jumpswitch in
the side of an abutment in the central building. Go all the way to the W area
with the gazebo to take the moveable block under that jumpswitch. The wall is
climbable. When you pull it a nearby door opens. Go to the floor and move the
block three times N. Climb it and jump to the open door; now you are in the
place where you picked up the Little Wheel before. Go all the way S to the...
LEVEL 2 - DEEP
IMPRESSION (fourth time)
The lasersight (II)
Once you've crossed the double doors go straight ahead, a bit NW and to
the right is the trapdoor with its keyhole. Use the key, go down the hole,
follow the path, light a flare and when the music starts, go down the room near
the N wall to avoid the rolling barrels. In the center of this dark room you
can find the lasersight and a medipack. Our job here is done, so go back to the
trapdoor and go out (the S wall is climbable), and go SE to the double doors
and return to...
LEVEL 3 - DEEP
AWARENESS (third time)
The Tower (I)
Go to the main courtyard and pick up a torch near the S wooden wagon;
you can light it in the candles of the NW building of the main courtyard. Go E
to the exit near the pool, then left (N) up the stairs to the pool with the
gargoyle where we arrived at this place; leave the torch a moment and combine
the crossbow with the lasersight to shoot the grate under the gargoyle (you can
do it with the shotgun, too), go there and get the second Little Wheel inside. Go
out of the water, pick up the torch again and go through the NE passage (very
clever flyby). Eventually, you'll arrive at a place with four closed doors
where you can place your gem. Throw the torch near here and remember where it
is. Place the gem and enter in the tower (Notice the keyhole at the bottom of
the stairs). Go up to the second floor and look for an opened window. Climb
there and look up: there is a bell high in a room of the front building. Use
the crossbow and laser sight to shoot the bell and see how the camera shows us
the opening doors of the church.
The Church
Enter and go to the right alcove in the W wall. Shoot the picture to
reveal a small room where you can get the Church Cross. Place it in the NE
corner of the church to raise a block behind. Use the block to climb the W
ledge. Take a banana jump S around the pillar to the next ledge. Take another
running jump S to land on a S ledge. From here go E to the next ledge, turn
right and use the green vines to climb to the next floor (and not to the top). In
the SW corner of this floor there is a switch behind a pillar. Use the S ledge
to go there and when you pull it, a rope appears in the center of the church. Go
back to the pillar with the vines and use them to climb to the top floor. There,
near the bell, you'll find the Church Corridor Key. Use the vines to go down
but not to the bottom, only to the first floor. Take a running jump to the
central E ledge and from here you can grab the rope. Turn right (N) and swing
to land on a high N ledge and find SECRET #13:
uzi clips and revolver ammo. You can go to the floor by running off the ledge
in a SW direction to land on the lower ledges in W wall. Go to the S of the
church and use the key to open the door. Now it's time to recover the torch; go
out and remember where you threw it or, if it's disappeared, you'll have to go
to the main courtyard, pick up a torch near the S wooden wagon, light it in the
candles of the NW building of the main courtyard and return to the church. Go
through the corridor and throw the torch on the floor of the next room. Go down
the hole and pick up the third Little Wheel. Approach the N door and it opens;
shoot the knight and he drops the Tower Key. Pick it up and leave this hole
climbing the W wall near the door.
The Tower (II)
Go out of the church and enter the tower building. Use the key in the
keyhole near the bottom of the stairs and a block rises at the top of the
tower. Go there and use the block to reach the highest part of the tower and
pick up the revolver under the gazebo. Make your way to return to the small
courtyard with the gargoyle and go through the S passage down the stairs; at
the bottom of the stairs turn left (E), right (S) and enter the S building. There
you can use your four Secret Keys to open the door and get a lot of goodies on
the pedestals and finally the Magic Sword. Go out of this room and straight
ahead is the door where we can place the Bullets of Glory. Do it so and in the
new room put the three little wheels in the machinery and pull the switch to
open the door.
The Golden Mask
Now you have two choices:
1.- If you got the four Secret Passage Keys and got the Magic Sword, you
can place it in the shield in front of the closed grated door near the
entrance, this opens the doors of the final building and lowers a trapdoor in a
corner so you can go back up if you go to the bottom of the final courtyard. Go
up the steps and pull the timed switch to open the nearby door and reach the
upper part of the final courtyard. Go S and enter the S building to pick up a
golden mask (Amulet of Horus). A door opens behind you. Slide down the ramp and
finish this fantastic adventure.
2.- If you didn't get the four Secret Passage Keys and you haven't the
sword, you'll have to take the other way and enter the low part of the courtyard.
There are revolver bullets in an E corridor. You awake two giant gladiators and
when you kill them (use some revolver or shotgun shots near each gladiator when
he is going to attack you with his sword) they drop two Light blue Gems. Use
them to open the S door and take either the right or the left stairs to go up
and get the golden mask.
