LONDON ROOFTOPS

Begin just where the level title says, on the rooftops of London. Run forward toward the wall and Lara will look up at the adjacent building. Go back past the crossing on your left, drop down into the alcove on your left for flares and pull back out. Continue left past the closed trap door and follow the walkway around to an area with a guard. Grab the shotgun ammo on the slab and pull down the wall switch to raise a nearby platform.

 

Go back to where you got the shotgun ammo and stand jump to grab the roof. Pull up and loop around to jump over the gap to grab the roof over the wall switch. Pull up, hop up left into a fixed camera and jump to the next balcony. Enter the crawl space to your left for SECRET #1 and the DESERT EAGLE. Return to the roof where you first pulled up, and this time drop down the other side. Run toward the barbed wire roof where you began the level to flush out a vulture, kill it and run back in the opposite direction.

 

Find the grated pushblock and use it to jump to grab another roof with barbed wire. Shimmy right to a safe spot in the corner, pull up and drop down the other side of the building for SECRET #2. Shoot a vulture, watch out for the barbed wire in the trench and pick up the UZIS and a large medipack. Vault up onto the nearby ramp for desert eagle ammo and shotgun ammo, get back down and return to the pushblock (which seems to serve no other useful purpose, at least for the moment). Go past it to the closed trap door near the beginning of the level, locate the gap in the barbed wire, stand one step back from the roof, take a running jump over the roof, slide and jump and grab the alcove with desert eagle ammo.

 

Safety drop to the ground. The platform you raised is around the corner to your left, but first go the other way and hop onto the blocks for a large medipack and a grenade. Push the nearby button to open a door and bring a guard running. Go back around the other corner and through the opening to the raised platform. Take a running jump slightly left toward the door you opened and pull up into the passage. Shoot a rat, then a guard, then another rat, and eventually you'll come to a dead end. Go back a short distance to find a ceiling hole.

 

Jump up to grab a crawl space, pull inside, follow around and climb down the ladder in the floor hole. Down below, take the passage to your left and shoot a rat and a guard before reaching a closed door at the end. Grab the shotgun ammo and a small medipack, go back to the ladder and continue down a ramp into an open area with two guards. Note the closed floor trap door, look right for a small medipack and push the buttons at the end of the left and right corridors to open the trap door. Go there, drop down, search the nearby alcoves for a large medipack and a small medipack, then approach the opposite passage to activate a series of flame blowers. Save your game.

 

Time a running jump past the first flame blower to grab the ceiling and carefully and quickly monkey swing past the next two flame blowers. You can get closer to them than you think without being burned, and you need to initiate your swing as the flames are about to subside. Drop down and pull the wall switch to open a door and to lower and raise platforms behind you. Climb down the ladder to find a small medipack in the water trench, then climb back up and monkey swing past the flame blowers once again (only two this time).

 

Climb up past the opened trap door and see straight ahead the door you opened. Go on through and climb another ladder to a door that opens as you pull up. In the next room loop around left for uzi ammo and enter the nearby side passage to flush out a guard so he won't be a distraction later. Go back and check the catwalk opposite the entrance for shotgun ammo. At the end of an otherwise empty side passage you'll find a large medipack. Go up a ramp, hop onto the ledge at the top and find the crawl space. Enter, get the large medipack at the end and return. Go up the ramp with the closed door at the top for uzi ammo, then go up the opposite ramp to sound an alarm as you enter a pool room. Shoot two guards, jump into the water, pull out onto a ledge where the alarm is sounding and note for later two wall switches to your right, one covered and the other uncovered.

 

Get on the ledge opposite the switches and jump to grab a ladder surface (the blue stripes) on the block. Climb up, turn around and take a running jump to an alcove. Push the button there to lower a trap door, drop back into the water and pull out onto a metal catwalk. Shoot another guard, follow the catwalk to find desert eagle ammo on a jutting ledge (the alarm mercifully stops sounding when you get far enough away from it) and jump back into the water.

 

Find the opened trap door near a corner next to the fan and swim down for SECRET #3 and the ROCKET LAUNCHER. Surface, pull out and return to those wall switches you saw earlier. When you pull the uncovered switch you get a cut scene of a crawl space at the end of a passage, and action music starts playing, but the switch does not appear to be timed. Reverse roll after pulling the switch, run and hop through the opening ahead for a short cut. Jump into the water, swim across slightly left and pull out in front of the ramp. Sprint down the ramp, turn left at the crossing and sprint all the way across into a new area where you shot the guard earlier.

 

Go around the catwalk on the right side, hop over the pushblock and continue to find flares. Return to the pushblock and move it in the direction from which you came until it's underneath a ceiling hole. Get up on it and pull up into a passage. Go around, enter the crawl space and follow until you can stand up. Hop down into a lower passage, pull up into another crawl space (the one you saw in the cut scene) and drop down the other side, alerting a guard as you do so. Look for the shotgun ammo, pull down the nearby wall switch to open a trap door back in the pool room, grab the small medipack from the block you dropped onto and return via the crawl spaces to the pool room.

 

Jump into the water and grab the small medipack before swimming down past the opened trap door. Follow the passage, swim down into a lower area with a fence at one end and a closed trap door at the other. Find a side alcove with an underwater lever that opens the trap door. Go there and swim up for air, then swim back down, look for a ceiling hole and swim up for SECRET #4 and a rocket. Return to the trap door, swim up and pull out in front of a wall switch guarded by flame blowers.

 

But first, turn around, jump over the water hole and grab the uzi ammo and flares. Then go to the flame blowers and time a jump past the first one. There's no barbed wire on the blocks flanking the floor hole (no trap in the hole, by the way), so hop onto one of them and find the ceiling hole. Jump to grab the edge and pull up for SECRET #5 and a large medipack. Drop back down and time another jump past the second flame blower. Pull down the wall switch to lift the cover you saw in the pool room and make your way back there. The room with the pushblock is now flooded, allowing you to pull out. You'll encounter a guard on the way to the pool room. Just before going up the first ramp, turn right into the corridor where a door has opened and pick up the LONDON SYMPHONY COMPLEX KEY, alerting another guard. Continue up to the pool room, shoot another guard and swim over to the button where the cover lifted. Push the button for a brief cut scene showing the empty slab from which you just now took the key!

 

Well, that was a wasted trip, so return to the area where you found the key, safety drop from the catwalk ledge to the area below and go up the ramp to the ladder. Climb to the top, drop and grab quickly so that you can pull into the crawl space and crawl left to the end. Drop down and run up the sloped passage to return to the London rooftops. Hop to the ledge below, face right and take a long running jump down to the sloped roof. Slide, grab, shimmy left and pull up into the alcove. Push the button to open a door and safety drop to the alley. Grab the SHOTGUN, shotgun ammo and flares, climb the grated wall and pull up onto a ledge. You hear the sound of a trap door opening overhead, so climb the next grated wall ladder up to where you started this level.

 

Go back around to where you shot your very first guard. Use the slab to jump and grab the roof, pull up and take a running jump onto the flat surface of the slope. Safety drop from the top of the slope and find a break in the railing where you'll find a ladder. Climb down through a fixed camera as a platform rises beneath you. Turn around at the bottom and take a running jump across the gap onto a ledge. Wait for a vulture to arrive and jump to the nearby platform. Face the wall and jump up to grab the crack. Shimmy left through another fixed camera and pull up into a crawl space. Crawl until you can stand up and climb the nearby ladder.

 

Shift right or left above the opening, drop down and dispose of the guard hiding in the trench. Explore the alley for a large medipack and note the keyhole that accommodates the key you're carrying. But to get the last secret, jump back to the ladder, climb to the top and follow the ledges around the building until you reach a crane with the MP5.  Vault up onto the crane, and from its front end take a running jump left to grab the sloped roof. Slide and grab, make sure you're over a flat surface (shimmy left if necessary) and release to land in front of an opening. Go inside for SECRET #6 and grab the MP5 ammo and the uzi ammo.

 

Return to the outside ledge, walk as far to your right as you can and take a running jump down to a flat block jutting out from the building. Continue forward into the area where you shot the guard earlier. Use the London Symphony Complex Key to open the door and enter the passage. Pull up through the ceiling hole and shoot the guard who drops a replacement for the key you just used. Drop back down into the passage and follow around to alert another guard. At the end of the side passage is the keyhole you're looking for. Open the door and two guards posted on the upper balcony in the next room.

 

Climb up to where they were and note the button across the room. There's a crack in the wall on the same side as the button. Jump to grab the crack, shimmy right and drop down to press the button that opens the door where one of the guards was posted. Go there and pull down the wall switch at the end of the corridor to open a door back in the passages. Return there, slide down past the opened door and run along the walkway separating two buildings. Watch out for the breaktile at the end and jump with grab to glide into the opening in the next building. Go around into the next room and hop onto the ledge for MP5 ammo, a large medipack and desert eagle ammo.

 

Go back and find a wall ladder to the right of the opening. Climb up and be prepared to engage a guard as soon as you pull into the upper area. Past the first opening to your right you can see a block jutting from the roof. Take a running jump to grab it and pull up to a fixed camera. Continue with a running jump in the same direction onto a stable roof. Walk forward and jump into the finish trigger.
