LEVEL 1 - RUSSIAN COMPLEX
Run straight ahead into the cave and locate the movable crate in the corner, push it twice to clear the way and in the next cave shoot a couple of leopards, pick up the shotgun shells in the corner and the small medipack in another corner, note the closed door and look for an opening leading to a canyon area. Don't jump into the water, but take a standing jump to the flatter rock to your right and from here a running jump to the block at the other side of the river; now take a tricky running jump with a right curve to the ledge behind the icy block and another running jump to the lower ledge with the flares at the other side of the river. Continue with another tricky running jump to the lower ledge in the corner and finally a last standing jump to grab the edge of the upper ledge, pull up and quickly run left or right to avoid the rolling snowball.
Advance to find an open area with two leopards and a skeleton with the STONE KEY, now you can go back to the canyon, jump into the water and swim to the entrance; near the skeleton find an opening to your right and continue until you can surface and drop into the corridor leading to the canyon. Retrace your steps to the first cave and open the door with your key; advance to a huge outside area where a couple of killers await. Pick up the automatic pistols ammo, the shotgun shells and the small medipack they drop.
To the right of the metal tower there are two holes next to the wall, drop into the first one and in the machine room shoot a brawler, pick up the flares he drops and locate the movable wooden crate in the corner, pull/push it all what you can to the border (three times) and inside the new room full of movable crates pull/push the one just in front of the entrance outside the room against the first movable crate; enter again and pull the crate in the corner once to the entrance and aside to reveal the IRON KEY. There's no need to move any of the other crates, so go back to the outside area.
Now go around the building in front of you to its back side and look for the wall switch to open the front door. Go inside, shoot the killer, pick up his large medipack, the uzi clips in the corner and use the key to open the trapdoor. Drop into the hole, light a flare and try to avoid the disks the best you can; at the end of the corridor pick up the RED ACCESS CARD and go back outside the same way, alerting a killer and a doberman, pick up the small medipack and shotgun shells the man drops.
Before exiting this area you can take a detour for a secret if you want. Go again to the back of the building and to the corner closest to the wall switch: there's an illegal slope there; you'll need to take a jump back onto the edge of that illegal slope and forth with a hard right curve to grab the edge of the tall block with the sloped top. It's not easy. If you get it, pull up and jump to the roof of the building to get the SECRET #1: the Golden Skull. This will alert two eagles too. Make your way to safely drop to ground floor.
Anyway use the card to open the remaining door and advance to another big area with buildings; shoot the killers, pick up the small medipack and uzi clips they drop and also the automatic pistols ammo on one of the wooden crates in the center of this area. You'll need a lot of items to get access to the buildings here so the only thing you can do is go inside one of the buildings with a dark opening and pull the switch to open a door in the outside area, shoot the brawler and locate the open door flanked by grated walls.
Run straight ahead to the end of this canyon, note the closed door to your right and climb the ledge at the end, beware of the falling icicles, drop down and in the next passage run left or right to avoid a rolling snowball and more falling icicles. In the next cave shoot a couple of leopards and explore this area to find automatic pistols ammo (the exit door will open; for later) and a small medipack near a corner; continue counterclockwise keeping always the wall to your right until eventually you'll find a water hole. Jump into the water, time the teeth doors and avoid the rolling snowballs, pick up the automatic pistols ammo to your right and swim to the opposite side where the snowballs are lying, continue above the moving blades and take a breath in the air hole in the ceiling; pull the nearby UW lever and swim all the way back the way you came to the cave with the dead leopards.
Now locate a blue icy low ledge attached to one of the walls and take a running jump with a right curve to grab the edge of the next block, pull up and continue jumping from block to block until you reach the opening with the open door. Climb up the ladder, jump back at the top and go right at the junction, time the teeth doors and advance until you eventually find a wall switch, pull it to open doors above and go back to the junction, run to the shallow waters, pick up the shotgun shells and climb/jump onto the blocks so you can reach the opening with the open door, jump to the next one and continue to the passage with the rolling snowball, climb down the ladder at the end and you're back in the cave with the dead leopards. Cross to the opposite corner and go outside.
At the other side of the deep pit is the snowmobile, but you can't cross from here, so climb the high opening to your right, light a flare and jump over the moving blades, drop from the other side in the area with the snowmobile and a building. Don't shoot the monks, they are friendly if you don't disturb them and they will help you later. Go inside the building and drop through the hole in the corner, light a flare and in the next room Lara will look to the crate high up in the corner, but you only can dispose of a single movable crate, so move it under the high wall switch and pull it to open the door. Now there are two available crates, place them in a row so you can pull the crate in the corner to get the IRON KEY (cut scene of the monks fighting with a killer outside). Before exiting, pick up the goodies inside the niche with the open door: shotgun shells and a large medipack.
Once outside don't forget to pick up the automatic pistols ammo and the small medipack the killer dropped; now it's time to mount the snowmobile, drive up the small slope and over the raised bridge to cross to the other side (use the "Ctrl" key to get an extra boost), continue driving to the well known cave and exit to the canyon. Don't go to the main area with the buildings yet, but turn left and drive up the wide slope to save the next pit, run over the leopard near the shallow waters and dismount.
Go inside the small building, light a flare and climb the wooden block in the back side, save your game and pull the timed switch, quickly turn left and take a standing jump with a left curve so you land onto the central part of the metal trapdoor in the corner (this timed run is very tight), pull the switch, fall and run around the central pillar to find an open door at the other side, pull the switch in the niche to open a door in the main area with the buildings, alerting two killers; they will drop shotgun ammo, flares and a large medipack. Now mount the snowmobile and drive over the higher slope in the right side to jump over the pit (tricky jump) and drive back to the main area with the buildings.
Locate the open door just in the building to your left, enter, shoot the killer and pick up his shotgun shells; there's no need to pull the switch for now (it's timed) but remember this place for later. Go outside and diagonally to the building in the right side where you can use your key in the darker keyhole and go inside; note the hints on the wall and from the marked tile in the corner jump without touch any other tile 2 south, 2 west, 2 south and 1 southeast to open the trapdoor above the ladder; take a curved running jump to get out of this floor and climb up.
In the upper floor shoot the brawler, pick up his large medipack, the nearby shotgun shells and the movable crate in the corner hides the AUTOMATIC PISTOLS. Now go through the narrow corridor, pull the switch at the end to lower a trapdoor somewhere and shoot the nearby window (the one in the niche), turn around, drop/grab the edge, shimmy right and climb up the ladder to the top; go right to the roof of the next building and locate a hole next to the rocks, drop through, shoot the killer, pick up his shotgun shells and climb down the ladder to the floor below; beware of the dark holes, don't climb to the very bottom but shimmy left or right and drop onto one of the adjacent tiles. Shoot two rats.
For a secret: light a flare and explore the dark holes in the floor: one of them has an opening in a lateral so you can run off the opposite edge with grab to land into and get the SECRET #2: the Golden Ingots. Take a standing jump to grab the edge of the hole and go back up.
Pull the switch to open the exit door and go outside; now it's time to use that timed switch I talked about in previous paragraphs. Go directly to the building straight ahead and turn left to enter, pull the switch and quickly run back inside the building with the holes in the floor, climb up the ladder a bit, jump back with twist, turn left and run towards the timed door (not too hard for me this time).
Once inside the new room, pick up the uzi clips in the corner and look for the numbers on certain tiles: those numbers indicate the tiles you must step on counting from the border of the square floor. I started with the number "2"near the entrance, took a standing jump onto the second tile, then directly walk onto the tile to your right (number "3"), take a diagonal standing jump to your left (number "4") and a diagonal standing jump to your left (number "2"). The door near the tile with the number "4" should be open, so go there, enter, light a flare and save your game in front of the timed switch, pull it to turn off the fires in the corridor for a brief time, slide down the slope, jump, run and try to roll at the end to land just onto the CIRCUIT BOARD; pick it up and quickly run and jump like fool back to the entrance, drop into the first fire tile and take a standing jump over the slope. This timed run was particularly hard for me.
Go outside to the main area with the buildings and mount the snowmobile, drive to your right to the entrance of this main area and locate the wide ramp to your left, drive up this ramp and dismount in front of the deep pit; go through the opening to your right and from the exit opening take a standing jump with a right curve to the flatter ledge to your right, from here a running jump to the rock with the shotgun shells and a last running jump to the snowy wide slope. Run up but beware of the falling snowballs, shoot a couple of eagles and finally get the YELLOW ACCESS CARD (a trapdoor opens somewhere). There are flares to pick up in the nearby corner too. Go back to the place where you parked the snowmobile the way you came (this time don't jump to the rocks where the shotgun shells were, but directly take a running jump to the flatter rock near the opening).
Mount the snowmobile and drive back to the main area with the buildings. The open trapdoor you find on your way is only in case you exit on foot without the snowmobile so you can go back here from a hole in a previous area where you got the first secret a long time ago; one of the holes to the left of the metal tower. If you climb down the ladder from this open trapdoor, you'll find shotgun shells. Anyway, better mount the snowmobile and drive back to the main area with the buildings. Locate the card-hole just in front of the keyhole where you used the iron key time ago, open the door and enter (perhaps a killer could attack from your back; it will drop automatic pistols ammo).
In this building there's a movable crate in a niche just in front of the entrance, pull it once and go through the corridor to your left to find another movable crate, push it several times inside the next room and shoot the doberman and the brawler, pick up his small medipack and climb up the ladder in the corner. In this upper floor pick up the flares in the niche and there's another puzzle to solve: in the wall you can read "40 - ?x? = 4". Of course, the solution is "40 - 4x9 = 4" so go to the square in the floor with the numbers and step only onto the tiles with the "4" and the "9" numbers to open the nearby door.
Enter, use the circuit board to open the trapdoor, climb up the ladder, shoot the killer, pick up his automatic pistols ammo and the shotgun shells in the corridor with the sink too; note the closed door with the keyhole and pull the switch to open the other door. In the bedroom you'll awake a knives thrower, he will drop the IRON KEY so you can open the remaining door and at the end of the corridor pick up shotgun shells and the STONE KEY, alerting a flamethrower outside.
Exit this building, shoot the enemy and open the door to your left with your new key, advance to find another outside area with a building and a lake. Continue to the next cave and turn left to shoot a leopard, pick up the flares and go to the other side of this cave. From the snowy mound take an angled standing jump to grab the edge of the high icy opening, now a series of standing/running jumps come to go all around the room clockwise (note the closed door to your left on your way) until you eventually find a wall switch in the very far corner near the building; pull it to open the door you should have see on you way here and go all the way back there; inside the room, pull a switch to open the door of the building; go there, enter, shoot the killer, pick up his shotgun shells and finally get the RED ACCESS CARD alerting two more killers and a flamethrower; they will drop a small medipack, automatic pistols ammo and uzi clips.
To get the last secret jump into the lake and look for an open door near a corner, swim through the narrow crawlspace to get the SECRET #3: Golden Coins, a large medipack, shotgun shells, 2 X uzi clips and the UZIS. Go back to the main area with the buildings. Locate the receptacle for your card near the metal tower and open the next door to get access to the forest area; advance to finish this level.
LEVEL 2 - MYSTICAL FOREST
Advance and when you find the first tree in the middle of the way go to your right to get flares; continue until you find a red building. Enter and jump into the water hole to get shotgun shells; go through the left opening (looking from the entrance) to find two timed switches, pull first the one just in front of the entrance opening to stop a fire in the nearby ledge and quickly the one next to the opening to raise a trapdoor behind the slope; jump to the small ledge, take a running jump over the slope and a final running jump with curve to grab the ladders in the wall, shimmy left to the last ladder, jump back and take a couple of jumps over the slopes (the last one with a hard left curve) to land onto a safe ledge. Now go through the dark opening, pick up the large medipack to your right and time the rolling wheels and the moving blades to cross to the other side; pull the wall switch and go back to the starting room picking up shotgun shells in the pool with the ladders on your way.
Once in the room with the small water hole go through the other opening and soon a door will open in the dark corridor releasing a yeti; to get an extra pickup you can go further to the next room and drop into the hole in the corner to find uzi clips. Anyway go inside the room the yeti came from, pick up the flares and step onto the yellow tile to release a golden cage in the next room, go there and pull/push the other golden cage onto the cage in the hole so you can climb it and pull the high switch: a door opens in the first room, so go there and enter.
In this room take a look to the symbols in the back wall (the last one is partially covered, but only two symbols are required); you must move the cages onto the tiles with those symbols in the floor, so start by moving the cage near the entrance three times to the left; then move the second cage once to the left and three times back and the door should open; pull the switch into the niche to open a door outside in the forest. The door is just in front of the exit of the red building, but also two killers await so shoot them and pick up the uzi clips, small medipack and automatic pistols ammo they drop.
The open door leads you to a high opening from which you can take a running jump to the branches of a tree, jump to the branches of the next one and for an extra pickup you can take a running jump to the rocks in the corner to get a small medipack before you jump to the big high opening. Advance (note the closed door to your right) and jump into the river waters, the current will take you to a dark room with a large medipack and a hard-to-see STONE KEY on a tile next to the water, climb the opening and back to the river bank pick up the flares and take a running jump over the river to a flatter part of the rocky ledge at the other side; climb the ledge and use the key to open the door you saw moments ago.
Enter and there's a deep pit here with totally invisible ledges to cross to the other side, so take running jumps of faith always with grab (in the section with the highest ceiling you'll need to grab the edge of one of the invisible ledges) to cross to the other side, pull the wall switch at the end and go back outside the way you came. Now jump into the river, back to the cave where you found the key, again climb the opening and from the tile where the flares were jump onto the raised trapdoor, to the ledge to your left and a tricky running jump with a hard left curve to the ledge between the trees; from the other side take a long running jump to the sloped rocks in the opposite river bank, slide/grab the edge, shimmy left and pull up.
Go through the opening in the corner and advance until you eventually find a huge area with wooden huts, natives (don't shoot them) and a big building. In the hut to your right (1st hut) there is a small medipack and in the hut to your left (2nd hut) flares. For a secret: from the corner of the remaining hut (3rd hut), look down to the lava pit and climb down the ledges to the very lower one, next to the lava; drop into the tile with a phantom surface in that corner to get the SECRET #4: Golden Ingots. Climb back up to ground floor.
The third hut needs a key, so take the passage between the second and third huts until you reach another huge outside area with more huts. From the entrance, turn right and advance a bit until you note a slope to your left (before that green plant), slide backwards, grab the edge and shimmy left if necessary to drop in front of an opening. Enter, note the nearby closed door and go left, pull the switch to open the bars door and pull the golden cage in the right side out and aside to get access to the next switch; pull it and quickly (it's timed) roll and run back as fast as you can to the door you saw moments ago.
In this new room take a look at the big wall in front of you: each number is associated with a sign; below there are three movable cages you can move onto different signs and if you go to the right side of the ledge and look up to the wall you'll see the numbers 3 4 1 and a closed door. So you already know what to do: climb down either ladder to the bottom of the room and start moving the cage in the left side, look to the big wall the sign corresponding to number 3 and place the cage on that sign (in the corner), the central cage on the tile in the middle of the square (4) and the cage in the right side on the central tile next to the wall. A camera should show the door opening so climb up the ladder, go there and pull the wall switch to raise a trapdoor in the big pit.
Go out of this room, to the right and near the timed switch you used before there's an opening overlooking the big pit. Jump onto the flatter ledges to your right and take a long running jump with grab to land onto the raised trapdoor. Light a flare and go through the dark opening, soon you'll find a closed door and flares in a niche; continue through the next corridor and take refuge in the niche to your left to avoid the rolling wheel, when it goes towards the closed door, continue to the end of the corridor and take refuge in the niche to your right, wait for the wheel coming and go away, and quickly go out, pull the switch and go back to the niche. The door is now open so make your way to go there, save your game in the niche near the open door and when the wheel goes towards the switch enter, advance and stop at the junction; there's another rolling wheel in the next corridor, so when this second wheel goes to your left, quickly go right and take refuge in the first opening to your right. There's a third rolling wheel in the next corridor, so when the wheel goes to your left run to the right side and at the end of this corridor and pick up the HUT KEY. Make your way to go back to the entrance avoiding the rolling wheels the same way.
From the raised trapdoor take a long running jump with a right curve to grab the ladder on the rocks to your left, climb up to the top, turn around and jump to the sloped block at the bottom of the next ladder and finally climb up to ground floor. Go all the way back to the main area with the huts and big red building and use the key in the third hut (the one to your left), enter and a camera will show two killers appearing in the entrance of this area; fortunately the monks will take care of them and they will drop uzi clips and automatic pistols ammo. Anyway pull the switch inside the hut to open the trapdoor, drop down into a dark room and pull the switch to open the door, go up the ramp, pick up the large medipack and go back to the previous room; if you can't remember the signs associated with each number step on the yellow tile. In one of the walls you can read the numbers 2 and 4 so the switches you must pull, from left to right, are the first and the third. Go back up to the outside area.
The deep lava pit in the other outside area with the huts is partially flooded now, so go back there, jump into the water and to get a secret look for a narrow crawlspace at the very bottom, in the yellow part, swim through and pick up the SECRET #5: Golden Coins. Now swim through the big opening in one of the rocky walls and pick up the first GOLD NUGGET. Swim back outside and this time I was not able to use the raised trapdoor, so look for a low ledge in the opposite side you can climb to get out of the water, go to the room with the golden cages and climb to ground floor using the ladder as you did before.
Go back to the main outside area with the huts and the big red building, to the hut with the keyhole and in the right side, near the corner there's a passage leading you to another area where a native is fighting with a killer; this time the killer was stronger so shoot it and pick up his automatic pistols ammo. Two keys are required to open this door and two openings (water and fire) to get those keys in no particular order.
Water Opening
Jump into the water hole and soon you'll find a wide area where you can take a breath. There are two passages, left and right. In the right hand passage swim through the opening next to the closed door, time the teeth doors and pull the UW lever to open the door you saw at the entrance, quickly swim back there (moving spiked wall) timing the teeth doors again, enter, pick up the shotgun shells and pull the UW lever (1/2). Go to the main room to take a breath and swim through the left hand passage; go left through the opening opposite the teeth doors and time the rolling wheel to find an UW lever to stop the doors; there are flares to pick up here too. Swim out and directly to the corridor with the now inactive teeth doors, pick up the uzi clips and look for another UW lever to pull (2/2): the golden door in the main area opens; swim there and get the WATER TRIAL KEY. Swim back to the forest area with the keyholes.
Fire Opening
There are two timed switches to the left and right of the entrance; those switches will temporally stop the fires at the top of the pillars in the lava pits so you can use more switches to stop more fires and finally pull a last switches to open the golden door. The time is not very generous, so try to move and jump fast or you won't get it. Unfortunately in one of the pits you'll need to take a banana jump around a pillar (jump over the slope and run without stop or you won't get it). Once you got it the golden door will open and you'll get the FIRE TRIAL KEY. Before exiting don't forget the uzi clips between the central pillars. Go back outside to the forest area, use the keys to open the door, climb the ladder and find yourself in a room with two pools.
In the pool to your right there's a large medipack. Go to the corner with the golden cage, go all around the wall and push it once blocking the entrance of the corridor, now go to the other side with the ladder and climb to the first floor, run to the opposite side and from the top of the cage you can jump to the second floor and pull a switch to open a trapdoor in the side with the ladder; note the closed trapdoor here, go back to the ladder and climb to the third floor, pull the switch to open the trapdoor you saw moments ago and go there, climb to the very top to finally get the second GOLD NUGGET. Go back down to the bottom and move the cage to its original position so you can exit. Go all the way back to the main area with huts and big red building.
Go to the first hut and find a rocky opening to its left, enter in a dark cave, go left and use the flatter ledges in the big slope to climb up to the top (beware of the rolling boulders). Once you are up look for a dark opening in the ceiling over a slope; you can jump back onto the slope and forth to grab a high ladder, climb and go to an outside area with the SECRET #6: the Golden Skull and if you found the previous secrets the GRENADE LAUNCHER, 4 X grenades and a small medipack. Go back to the ladder and from the top of the big slope look for an opening in the corner, slide down the ramp and enter into a room with a yeti, an opening and a closed door.
Go through the opening and left to an open area with a river and a campfire, cross to the other side of the river using the flatter parts of the mound of rocks and shoot the killer (if you fall into the water the current will take you to a place where you can surface and find an opening to go back to the previous river bank), pick up the shotgun shells near the small boxes, go into the hut, pick up the flares and drop through the hole in the corner to a big cave with yellow lava.
Time the rolling wheel and go left, through the passage with the teeth doors and take a running jump to the other side of the lava river; continue (note the closed door to your left) jumping over the moving blades and pick up a small medipack. From the small slope in the corner take a running jump to the next sloped rock and jump in last moment to grab the edge of the rocks in the middle of the lava, pull up and take a running jump to grab the left side of the edge of the sloped rock in the corner; beware of the illegal slope here, pull up and immediately jump with a left curve to grab the crack, shimmy left, pull up and jump to the ledge with the switch, pull it to open the door you saw moments ago and continue running and jumping clockwise until you reach the first part of this lava area.
Shoot the yeti, jump again over the moving blades and find the open door to your right. Run and jump fast to avoid the moving spiked wall, go left and take a running jump onto the slope in front of you, slide and jump to the top of the central rocks. Now take a tricky running jump to the ledge in the corner with the switch (low ceiling), pull it to open a door at the top of the hut and jump back with care to the top of the central rocks; take a final running jump with a right curve to grab the ladder, shimmy right, drop at the top and continue to get back to the campfire.
Shoot a killer and jump to the opposite river bank, now go straight ahead and look for an opening to your right where you first got access to this area a long time ago to the cave with the closed door with keyhole you visited before. Climb the block attached to the wall just right from the entrance and from here take a tricky running jump (no grab) to the mound of rocks in the corner, finally take a last running jump to the rocky ledge next to the high opening and go through overlooking the same outside area with the campfire.
Don't drop to the floor but jump onto the tree branches to your right, go around the trunk and take a long running jump to the top of the mound of rocks near the river, from here jump to the ledge attached to the cascade and from the highest part a very tricky running jump (it took me a lot of tries) to grab the edge of the roof of the hut (very right side), pull up, go through the opening and cross the room avoiding the darker tiles or you'll be trapped here forever. Pick up the STONE KEY in the corner and go back outside the same way. Now cross to the other side of the river and go back to the cave with closed door and keyhole.
Open the door and enter in a huge temple; now you can take the left or right routes to get up to the top of the room, it's the same procedure in both cases. Take a standing jump to grab the edge of the slope next to the high pillar, pull up, slide and jump in last moment to grab the edge of the next slope, pull up, slide and jump in last moment to grab the edge of the small ledge, pull up and save your game. Now take a standing jump onto the bounce pad and take a hard curve when flying (left or right depending the route you choose) to land onto a small balcony with a balustrade; if you took the left path there are uzi clips here. Now take a standing jump onto the next bounce pad to land onto the top of the central pillar, take a running jump to the top of the next one and a final standing jump to the top of the yellow structure to finally get the third GOLD NUGGET.
To go back down to the entrance there are ladders in the left and right sides. Go out to the cave, run straight ahead to the opening leading to the forest but this time instead of going left back to the campfire turn right and pull a wall switch at the end to raise the bars door, continue following the only possible path to go back to the main area with the huts.
Now it's time to explore the big red building, climb up the ladder in its right side and use the nuggets to open the first double gates. Run up the stairs and find two open doors and two closed doors. Go first to the room with the rolling boulders and pull, from left to right, the first and second switches (the third trapdoor is down). Go outside and to the other open door, down the steps to a dark room with a wall switch, pull it to open one of the remaining doors and release a native. Go back to the wide stairs and this time go outside to the terrace with the balustrade, run always to your right to eventually find a switch in a corner, pull it to raise the last trapdoor in the room with the rolling boulders, go back there and pull the third switch; this will open the last door.
Now enter into the room where the native came from to get a hint (Lara will look to certain tile over the cage with the item); back to the stairs, go inside the last room to find a rectangle with colored tiles; if you understood the hint, the combination to obtain the purple color is red + blue, so step only onto the red and blue tiles and the golden door in the other room opens; go there and pick up the GOLD IDOL. This will alert two killers, help to the native and pick up automatic pistols ammo and shotgun shells when die.
Use the idol to open the next double doors and in the next room pick up 2 X uzi clips, continue and the stone warriors awake, shoot them and when you pick up the SEAL OF THE LAST KING the last double doors will open, releasing the Guardian of the Talion; when you defeat it the level ends.
