[NOTE]: There's an accessible "Lara's Home" level, but nothing really interesting in it except look for a key to open the main doors of the manor and be able to go outside to the gardens and look for another key and open the exit gates, so I'm not going to include it in this walkthrough. [End Note]

 

Colors: pickups - enemies - necessary items - secrets.

 

 

LEVEL 1 – RUINS OF KHAMOON 1

 

Slide down the ramp and approach what appears to be a dead end, but go left to that sort of "double doors" and push the left block twice to clear the way. To get the first secret turn left and jump to grab the ledge above, pull up and get the SECRET #1: 4 X shotgun shells. In the next area shoot a lion and continue over the bridge avoiding the darts, time the swinging blade and note the receptacles for the Ankhs in this "hub room" with passages left and right. In the niches next to the receptacles, behind the statues, you can get 3 X shotgun shells and 2 X small medipack.

 

I went through the left hand passage first. In the room with the floor trapdoors pick up a large medipack and in the room with the boulders shoot a bunch of rats and use only the switch in the S wall or you'll be smashed by a boulder. Back to the previous room the trapdoors are now open; take a running jump with grab against the pillar in the NW corner to land into the opening below, carefully walk through the spiked floor and climb the next ledge to find a cave with a lava river.

 

From the entrance turn left and pick up the small medipack in the corner, then approach to the W edge, jump to the ledge with the shotgun shells and take a running jump SW to the flat part of the river bank; continue to an outside area where you'll be greeted by two lions. Pick up the small medipack and climb the rocks in the NW corner where you'll find another small medipack. To get the next secret turn around and take a long running jump S-SE (no grab) to the rocky ledge, walk a bit to the other side and for an extra pickup turn right and jump to the tile with the plants, jump left to the end of this path and look between the plants for magnums ammo and 2 X shotgun shells, now jump back NW to the previous ledge, turn right and from here take a running jump S to a flatter ledge above the entrance of this area to get the SECRET #2: a small medipack and uzi clips.

 

Safety drop to ground floor and climb again the same rocks in the NW corner, this time go to the corner where the medipack was and turn left (E), take a running jump with a slightly right curve onto the sloped rocks so you slide backwards and can grab the edge, shimmy left until you can pull up and finally pick up the first SAPPHIRE KEY. Safety drop to ground floor (you can drop/grab the edge and shimmy right until Lara is above a sloped rock below).

 

Now go to the S side of the lake and look for a skeleton who guards the MAGNUMS and a small medipack; from here advance a bit E and take a running jump E-NE over the sloped tile to a flatter tile behind it, another running jump E-NE to the top of the next block, turn around to grab the edge above and pull up. Take a standing jump W to the ledge with the plants to get a large medipack and shotgun shells, jump back to the previous tile where you pulled up, jump E to the ledge with the large medipack and go left to pull a switch opening a door somewhere. Go further to the end of the corridor and pull a sneaky switch in the left wall too. Go back to the lake area.

 

Let's look for that place where the door opened: go to the S side of the lake, approach to the slope leading to the lava river and go left just to the corner of the high building, jump S over the sloped sandy mound, slide and jump in last moment to land onto a flat ledge, go left and in this small room pick up the second SAPPHIRE KEY and a large and small medipacks. A flying atlantean appears at the other side of the grates, with a bit of patience I was able to shoot it even with the door is still closed. Anyway use the switch to open the door, go outside, shoot a lion and go back to the lake area.

 

Approach to the border of the lake and try to shoot the crocodiles. Once you're done jump into the water and look for an UW opening in the SE corner, swim inside and soon another croc will appear so swim back to the lake and get out of the water to dispatch it. Swim back to the UW passage where the croc came from and continue until you see a hole in the ceiling where you can surface; go to the end of the corridor to pull a switch and swim back to the lake.

 

When you are back in the lake note a small crawlspace just in front of the exit of this UW passage (NE corner); if you are interested on secrets swim through, try to avoid the crocs and at the end of the path surface to get the SECRET #3: a large medipack and 2 X shotgun shells. Swim back to the lake.

 

Time to use the keys. In the very SE corner of the lake there’s an opening with a low ledge you can climb; in this small room pick up the magnums ammo, use the keys to open the door and shoot the rats. In the next lava room shoot the lion and climb the opening in the SW corner, shoot the rats and pick up the small medipack and the shotgun shells; in the central niche look for another of those sneaky wall switches to pull, go out, shoot a lion and from the entrance take a tricky running jump with a left curve to that safe tile in the lava (in front of the closed door) jump to the next one and to the last with the switch, pull it and jump back using the same tiles to reach the opening with the open door. Walk through the spikes, climb the block to your right, walk through the next spikes and turn right: you can’t see it but inside the dark niche there is a switch to pull; do it so, turn around and drop through the hole to pull another switch and open a door somewhere. Go back to the lake the way you came.

 

For the next secret: from the exit of the room with 2 keyholes jump into the water and swim again through the UW passage just under this exit, surface through the hole in the ceiling and note that over this hole the ceiling trapdoor is now open; jump there to get the SECRET #4: uzi clips and large and small medipacks. Swim back to the lake.

 

Now go to the S side of the lake and again locate the skeleton; as you did before, from here, advance a bit E and take a running jump E-NE over the sloped tile to a flatter tile behind it, another running jump E-NE to the top of the next block, turn around to grab the edge above and pull up. Jump to the E ledge and continue to the passage with two switches you pulled time ago, here is the door you opened with the last switch in the lava room.

 

Detour for a secret: forget this open door for now and continue to the end of the corridor where the other door is now open too (perhaps with the sneaky switches?), trigger a rolling boulder in the outside ledge, slide to the N side of it and take a diagonal running jump to the opening with the SECRET #5: the SHOTGUN plus a large and small medipacks and 3 X shotgun shells. Go back to the corridor with 2 switches the way you came.

 

This time go through the opening with the open door, climb a couple of blocks and slide down the ramp at the end, jump to the ledge with the switch, pull it to open the double doors at the top of the… pyramid? And pick up the UZIS and a large medipack. It’s time go go up to those doors climbing the big slope: start from the lower ledge with the palm tree and take standing or running jumps to the flatter tiles until you reach the open gates. Save often because from time to time rolling boulders will fall trying to take you to your doom, and also a flying atlantean will be triggered sometime. Once you get it, enter and follow the only possible path jumping over the deadly holes and avoiding a last rolling ball at the end to reach a small room with the first ANKH. Now go all the way back to the hub room with the receptacles for the ankhs the way you came, shooting a lion on your way.

 

Now let's explore the right hand passage. Pick up the small medipack just right of the entrance and continue to shoot a lion in the next cave. For an extra pickup, look for a high opening in a corner, again right of the entrance, to get shotgun shells. Advance, jump over the hole and in the next room with the deep pit take a running jump to the block in front of the entrance, drop onto the next block and to ground floor, shoot a lion and continue through the short corridor to a room with two huge eyes. For the next secret: drop onto the yellow stairs and from the first (lower) step take a diagonal running jump from the left or right sides NW or NE to grab a small ledge behind the stairs and get the SECRET #6: a large medipack and 2 X magnums ammo.

 

Anyway jump into the water, beware of the croc and pick up 2 X magnums ammo at the bottom, now swim S to find a long hatch, swim up and get out of the water in the left side (dangerous tile in the right side). Climb the block to your left to get a small medipack if you want, drop down and save your game. Take a running jump to land onto the tile with the deadly sign but immediately jump back to avoid the rolling boulder; when you get it, pull up there and pull the switch to open a door in the room with the big eyes; go back there the way you came.

 

Climb the high platform with the lions, shoot them and also the crocodile in the small pool, pick up the uzi clips in the corner and a small medipack in the pool; at this moment one of the eyes explodes releasing a flying atlantean, shoot it and go to the next room. The block in the corner is movable, move it out of this room so you can climb it and jump to reach the top of the tall block in the NE corner. The door here is closed so turn left and climb the blue structure to the very top, pick up a large medipack, jump over the spiked hole forth and back to avoid the rolling boulder and run up the ramp to a new area.

 

This passage with the rolling boulders is very dangerous; you'll need to run and jump very fast if you don't want to be smashed. Try to run and jump without stop and land onto the first part of the grate in the floor (Lara can't sprint in TR1); save your game here, pick up the small medipack in the niche to your right and pull the switch to open a door somewhere. Now go back to the area with the big eyes and the croc-pool where the E door is now open, pick up the second ANKH and shoot the flying atlantean. Go all the way back to the hub room the way you came.

 

Place the ankhs and in the next room the eyes will explode releasing several atlantean enemies; once they are defeated run over the breakable tile in the second hole to get a large medipack; at the top of one of the blocks with the switches there are 3 X shotgun shells too. Pull all four switches to open the next door. Advance to a cave and shoot several lions (note the closed door to your right), when you reach the lava river, from a flatter ledge in the right side (not from the very bottom) take a running jump S (no grab) to the lower yellow block in the opposite river bank, climb several blocks, shoot the rats and take a running jump N to grab the crack in the opposite wall, shimmy left, drop (note the closed door) and go to the end of the corridor, pull the switch and safety drop through the hole to the area where you shot the lions.

 

Here, the small door is now open, so go there, slide/jump with curve onto the safe block, jump to the higher block in the corner and if you want take a running jump to the N ledge to get the small medipack and 2 X shotgun ammo. Anyway, jump back to the yellow ledge and pull the switch behind the pillar, exit through the opposite passage, jump over the lava pit, shoot a rat and run with the rolling boulder on your knees, jumping without stop in last moment to the higher ledge.

 

You are back in the starting area, and the door you opened is at the end of the crack, so repeat all the same movements one more time to get back there and enter. Climb down, slide and when you reach the lava river jump onto the safe tiles in the lava (beware of the rolling boulder) and to the higher blocks attached to the S wall; from here take a diagonal standing jump to grab the edge of the high yellow ledge, pull up, drop/grab the edge left or right to avoid the rolling boulder and do the same a bit further with the next one; safety drop through the hole at the end of the path, drop again and take a running jump with grab to the opening with the pharaoh sign.

 

Take a tricky running jump to the block in the corner (no grab) and jump to grab the edge of the upper ledge (from the very left side, a bit tricky), advance, shoot the rats and pull the switch to open the exit door. Now go back all the way you came, up to the high yellow ledge and from here take a running jump to grab the edge of the platform with the crawling atlantean, pull up, shoot it and advance to finish the level.

 

 

LEVEL 2 – ROAD TO THE OBELISK

 

Drop to the bottom of this huge area, shoot the lions and pick up shotgun shells next to the skeleton. Now go to the S wall and look for a nearby block you can climb, take a standing jump to the NE block and continue climbing NE until you reach a high position in the SE corner; here there are cracks in the S and E walls, grab the S one and shimmy left until you can pull up, go to the corner, turn right and grab the edge of the opening above to find the SECRET #7: 2 x shotgun shells and magnums ammo.

 

Go out and continue W jumping to the top of the arches, shoot a flying atlantean, pick up the uzi clips and finally take a running jump to the protruding ledge attached to the W wall; pick up more uzi clips and pull the switch to open a door below, but also release a couple of crawling atlanteans. To go down you can take a running jump to the shoulder of the big central statue, slide to the arm and from this safe position shoot the enemies; when they are dead, from the lower part take a standing jump S near the arch with the pharaoh sign, where the door opened.

 

For extra pickups, before entering climb a lower block in the right side of this arch so you can reach the top and pick up uzi clips, shotgun shells and magnums ammo. Anyway enter, climb the block and drop to the sandy floor, go to the S side, climb the blocks next to the closed door and shoot the croc, jump into the water and get the first SCARAB. Go back to the main area shooting a centaur on your way.

 

Now from the block in the S wall you need to climb again, as you did before, to the high SE corner with the cracks in S and E walls (do you remember?); this time jump to grab the E crack, shimmy right and pull up to pick up the shotgun shells, take a diagonal standing jump to grab the edge of the next rock, pull up and take a last running jump to building with the yellow pillars; shoot a lion and pick up the shotgun shells and the large medipack.

 

Pull the two switches in the N blocks and enter, drop several times and pull a switch to open a door somewhere (no camera shot this time); climb back up and shoot a lion and a flying atlantean. Optional: now you can pull the remaining switch to open the E door and get extra pickups (a large medipack, uzi clips and 2 X shotgun shells) but that way you’ll release a crawling atlantean too and the long ramp next to the pickups leads you down to the ledge where you started this level.

 

But that’s not really necessary, you’ll save time approaching to the NW opening between the pillars and look down to see a yellow ramp attached to the wall; that’s your goal now. Check your health and take a long running jump W-NW, to land onto the tile at the top of that yellow ramp, losing some health, pick up the magnums ammo (alerting a flying atlantean) and to get the next secret take a running jump to the small ledge W-SW, in the niche pick up the SECRET #8: a large and small medipacks and magnums ammo. Jump back to the previous ledge.

 

Slide down the ramp and jump in last moment to land onto a rocky ledge (no grab), turn left and take a running jump SE to the top of the next rock and from here a last running jump N to the opening in the building. Here is the door you opened with the last switch, enter, pick up the small medipack and 2 X shotgun shells (beware of the rolling boulder) and go through the corridor, slide down the ramp and let the tiles break; in the lower passage pick up more shotgun shells and shoot the centaur coming from the opening to your right, go there and slide down a series of yellow ramps until you reach a closed door; facing the door turn a bit right and run off the edge with grab to land into the opening below, turn right and time the first teeth blades, pull the switch between the pillars (1/5) to raise a trapdoor in the S wall, time the second blades, pull the next switch (2/5) and use the safe rocks in the lava to cross to the E side.

 

In this side there is a large medipack, more teeth doors and the three remaining switches (3,4 and 5/5), the trapdoor raises but also a flying atlantean is released. Cross to the S side and take a running jump to grab the trapdoor, jump again to grab the edge of the opening above, pull up and run to pull the switch in the corner: another trapdoor opens in the opposite side of the room and another flying atlantean is released. Drop onto the trapdoor, take a running jump to the W side ledge, time the teeth doors again and go through the N opening; climb the blocks because the door is now open, cross, jump over the slope, to the raised trapdoor and climb the opening above it.

 

Pick up the small medipack and climb to the top of the blue block, turn around and climb to the higher ledge, pull up, shoot a lion and go to the S side, take a diagonal running jump to the opening in the grate and finally get the second SCARAB; from here it’s very easy go back to the starting room with the rolling boulder, climbing several blocks and dropping through the hole at the end. For a secret: when climbing the brown blocks when you reach the top of a block with yellow textures left and right, turn around and take a running jump to grab the edge of the E opening and get the SECRET #9: a small medipack, 2 X shotgun shells and magnums ammo.

 

Anyway when you are back in the main outside area shoot a couple of crawling atlanteans and a centaur. Go W to the palm tree and take a running jump over the slopes to the place where the centaur was, two lions will attack from the cave to your left; don’t go inside this cave yet (you need one more scarab) but walk some steps to the very NW corner, turn left and climb up the slopes/blocks to the top of the yellow ramp you used to reach the last area; this time go N through this cave and shoot a crawling atlantean.

 

In the next room shoot the rats and pull the switches next to the double wooden gates to open the small door near the entrance, shoot the lion and another one when you go up the stairs; when you’re up take a running jump to the other side, shoot the crawling atlantean and locate the obvious movable block in a corner (with a small medipack under it), move it to the W side of the room so you can jump to the top of the blue ledge. For an extra pickup, climb the W platform, shoot the lions and pick up a large medipack behind the pillar. Anyway from the blue ledge jump onto the higher E block, take a running jump to the recess in the SE corner, drop/grab the edge, shimmy to the right, pull up and pull the switch in the niche to open the double wooden gates at the very bottom of this room. Safety drop twice to get there.

 

Jump over the spiked pit and in the pool room shoot a bunch of rats, shoot a couple of crocs in the pool too. Locate the movable block in the NE corner and pull it twice to reveal an opening, enter and jump over the pits to finally pull a wall switch, opening doors somewhere; another croc is waiting for you in the pool room when you go back, this time on ground floor. Now jump into the water and swim to the trench at the very bottom; there are openings in the left and right sides leading to UW levers in both cases (a croc should be roaming around in one of the passages). When you pull both levers swim back to the pool and note that the double wooden doors in the N wall are now open, swim there and continue to a new area.

 

From the entrance turn right and look in the SW corner for a low ledge to get out of the water; try to shoot the crocs from here and run down the W sloped passage to another open area with a lake; jump into the water and look for the first SAPPHIRE KEY, climb one of the low rocks to shoot the croc; from the W one take a running jump N to the block with the plants, now a standing jump W-NW to the recess in the wall, a couple of standing jumps climbing the higher rocks and left on the rocky bridge to finally take a running jump to the cave entrance.

 

Back in the main lake shoot three crocs, jump into the water and swim through the UW passage in the W wall (big opening); don’t go too far but just from the entrance swim down to the bottom to get the second SAPPHIRE KEY. If you go W to the very end and swim up, look for a hole in the ceiling leading to the SECRET #10: a large medipack, uzi clips and magnums ammo. Swim back to the main area.

 

To get another secret, from the low ledge in the SW corner jump E to the flatter tile attached to the tall rock, from here take a running jump NE to the rock with the plants and another running jump NE to the small ledge next to the big block with hieroglyphics; take a standing jump slightly right or left to grab its upper edge, pull up and drop into the hole to pick up a small medipack; climb out and take a running jump W to the top of the next block, drop again into the hole to get the SECRET #11: a small medipack and magnum ammo, get out and to get the next secret situate Lara on the very SE corner of this block, face S and take three steps right, now take a running jump S with a slightly left curve to land into an opening in the W rocks and get the SECRET #12: a large medipack and 2 X small medipacks. Go out and jump into the lake.

 

Swim near the bottom and face N to note that the blocks with hieroglyphics are the top of a big UW building with two doors in the lower part; if you swim through the UW passages next to the E and W of the rocky walls in the sides of the building you’ll find UW levers to open those doors. Do it so and enter in each one of them to use both keys; back in the lake swim now through the hexagonal opening in the central part of this building to find the door you opened, continue and surface in a room with 2 X shotgun shells, 2 X magnums ammo and a large medipack. Advance through the corridor, slide and jump at the end to a room with some of those big eyes (you know what it means).

 

Advance and two eyes will explode releasing a crawling atlantean and a centaur; shoot them and place the movable blocks in front of the entrance onto the patterned tiles: the door in the E wall will open but three more flying atlanteans are released. When you’re done jump to the opening with the open door and prepare yourself to avoid several boulders when you run up the ramps (quickly roll and go back to a safe place). When you reach the top pick up the third SCARAB; the door will open so you can drop through the hole into the lake in the cave where you used the sapphire keys.

 

Sim through the S diamond opening to go back to the pool room with the movable block in the corner, shoot a crawling atlantean and continue back to the main area with the big statue. To get the last secret don’t go to ground floor, but from the exit of the cave turn left and, again, take a running jump to the small ledge W-SW where you found the secret 8 time ago (see previous paragraphs), from here look down SW to spot a pillar with grates and a small statue, attached to the W wall. Get this secret in a “legal” way was tricky for me: make sure that Lara is at full health, then situate Lara on the very SW corner of the tile facing W, take a step back and finally turn Lara a bit right so when she takes a standing jump she bits her head with the sloped ceiling and take a hard right curve to land onto the top of that pillar losing a lot of health to get the SECRET #13: a small medipack, 2 X uzi clips and 2 X magnums ammo. Restore your health and safety drop to the floor from the S side.

 

From this position in the pit surrounding the statue go directly E so you can climb to the upper floor with the palm trees; once you’re up take a hairpin turn to your right and again take a running jump over the sloped rocks to reach the very NW corner. This time go through the W opening to the room where you can place the scarabs. Do it so after picking up 2 X shotgun shells to open a door at the top of the big central statue in the main cave, but also the small door at your back. Go inside that room to pull a switch and flood some areas; go back out to the main cave and make your way to shoot the three centaurs; when the calm is restored go to the S side of the cave and go through the opening under the arch with the pharaoh sign.

 

Jump into the water and swim to your left, now you can reach the high ledges and get access to a room with several rats, 2 X uzi clips and a large and small medipacks. The door in front of the entrance is closed, so go through the right hand passage (S) and slide down backwards to safety drop into the room below. Draw a heavy weapon because several doors will open in all walls releasing a bunch of centaurs. When all they are die pick up 2 X uzi clips and pull all four wall switches to open a door in the W corridor; shoot one more centaur and two crawling atlanteans and go there.

 

In the next room locate the pushable block attached in the NE corner and pull it out and aside so you can reach the high opening in the NW corner; climb several times to a dangerous passage with darts, teeth doors and swinging blades. Make your way to cross to the end of the passage and in the next room shoot a crawling atlantean. Step onto the golden tile to hear the sound of a door raising, drop through the hole and go N and W to find the ANKH KEY. Exit E and swim back to the main cave with the big statue; shoot a bunch of atlantean enemies and when the calm is restored, from the corner (facing N) at the bottom of the waters flowing from the arch with the pharaoh’s sign take a running jump N-NW to grab the edge of the yellow ledge, pull up, climb the arm of the statue and go W trough the opening under its head; place the ankh to open the exit door and move forward to finish the level.
