GOLIATH IS BACK!

After the spooky opening flyby, begin as Kurtis and run forward past a couple of closed gates toward the skeleton guards to trigger a brief flyby. Continue into an outdoor courtyard and search the nearby corpse for EXPLORER'S ANNOTATIONS. Examine it for a number of helpful hints and head S toward the opened gate to trigger a cut scene.  Since you have no weapons or other inventory items, sprint past the opening to alert a thug, continue through the doorway and turn right into a side room. Quickly take the REVOLVER from the shelf, turn to kill the thug and then return to the shelf for revolver ammo, a large medipack and 2 x flares.

 

Exit this room, turn right into the alcove so Kurtis can empty his bladder and in the main room find a key called ACCESS FROM BACKYARD in the alcove opposite the roasted fish. Exit to the courtyard, hop down a few ledges on your right to a pool and shoot the wooden bars in the W opening. Make a rather difficult curved running jump to grab the opening, pull into the crawl space and flip out the other side to alert a friendly owl who means you no harm. Go to the corpse on the ledge and take his key called REAR SHELVING. Note the blade-trapped W opening and ignore it for now.

 

Go back through the crawl space and flip out into the water. Pull out onto the lowest ledge, climb back up to the courtyard and say a few words to the playful puppy. Head SE past a fixed camera and turn left past a statue block. Open the SW gate with the Access from Backyard and go inside to find a key called DEPOSIT on the small table. Picking it up causes strange things to happen to that skeleton you saw in the opening flyby. Grab 4 x revolver ammo from the larger table, turn around and open the other gate with the wall switch.

 

Enter the next room, collect a large medipack, 3 x revolver ammo and a key called FOUNTAIN ACCESS, exit to the courtyard and go straight across to open the next gate with the Fountain Access. Go to the fountain for healing water, remember its location for possible later use and return all the way back to where you found the first corpse. Run past the skeleton guards to the puppy's house and pull down the nearby wall switch to lift part of the next gate.

 

Enter a new courtyard, note the poor guy with part of one leg missing who's propped up against the wall and use the deposit to open the door in that same wall. Enter a cell and take 3 x flares from the central crate and the NW rubble. There's a large medipack in the SE shelf. Lift the E grate with the Rear Shelving and step forward to grab revolver ammo, a flare, GUARD'S ANNOTATIONS with more helpful hints and finally the SECRET ROOM ACCESS

 

As you turn to leave you're interrupted by another flyby revealing that Goliath has miraculously come to life and is apparently looking for you. Exit this room, turn left and cross the bridge to a large platform where yet another corpse lies. Pick up a piece of parchment called the PUSH MENORAH and examine it for a compass above red and green dots. Note the large castle in the distance, locate the floor hole near the NW corner of the platform and jump into the water. Swim down to the floor and search the skeleton for the DOUBLE UNLOCKER. Pull the underwater lever next to the SW opening to activate a squishy block. Don't try to time your way past it, but pull the lever a second time to deactivate the block while it's in an open position. Keep trying until you succeed, as it's mainly a matter of blind luck.

 

Swim into the next room and open the door in the far wall. A burst of warning music greets you as you pass underneath a ceiling shaft and enter the next room. Look up to see hanging swords and swim around until all of them have been released. Pull up onto the ledge with the skeleton guard and pull down the wall switch to lift a timed gate. Jump into the water and swim back into the N opening. Swim up the ceiling shaft in the passage, surface and pull up right and run forward before the timed gate shuts in your face. Pull the chain to raise the water level in the previous room and open both gates behind you. There's nowhere to go E for now, so swim back to the room with the skeleton guard and up to the ceiling hole.

 

Pull out into a sparse room and go through the W opening. You can hear the sound of a hovering helicopter, but there's no way to get to it. Use the Secret Room Access to open the S door and enter what appears to be a shrine. Climb the ladder on the left side of the S ledge and go around to push the menorah W. The W gate opens down below, so go on through as the gate slams shut behind you and a cut scene provides a clue for an upcoming task. Run past the supplicant kneeling at the spike-protected structure and activate two jump switches on either side of the structure. The spikes activate (poor supplicant) and a cut scene warns you that Goliath is now on the move.

 

Take DAVID'S STAR from the hand in the structure and exit E to the shrine and N to the room where the helicopter appears to have flown away somewhere. As you go through the E opening a flyby takes over that shows Goliath overtaking and subduing the helicopter while being knocked unconscious in the process. His weight also causes the wooden bridge to collapse. Jump into the water hole and swim down through the N opening and up that ceiling shaft. This area is now completely flooded, so swim E through a small opening you couldn't reach earlier. Swim down and continue S along a new passage to find a skeleton with an ANCIENT COIN for the level's only SECRET.

 

Find the central ceiling hole and swim up the long shaft until you can surface for air. Swim back down and up the ceiling shaft against the N wall. Go back the way you came, and when you reach the connecting passage down below, exit N toward the squishy block room. Don't pause as you go through the opening, as you'll be attacked by killer goldfish. Swim forward and up to the ceiling hole where Goliath is waiting. Pull out, run away from the castle in the distance, jump into the ocean and swim over to greet the frantically barking puppy.

 

Pull out and run diagonally to your right through the opening in the fence. Turn right between the two skeleton guards and run back to the spot where you began the level. There's a receptacle in the N wall. Use the Double Unlocker to open the gates to your right. Go through the passage carefully as you trigger a squishy block at the second gate. Get past it into a new passage, turn right and stoop to get a flare at the skeleton. Go to the closed gate at the E wall, push the red button on the skeleton guard's rear end to open the gate and enter the next area.

 

Note a similar skeleton guard ahead, loop around left and jump up to grab the crawl space in the W wall. Pull inside, flip out the other side and pull the chain inside the alcove to open another gate in the passage where you began the level. Return to the previous room, run past the skeleton guard without pushing anything (just for fun, save your game and try repeating what you did earlier) and use David's Star to open the door. On the wall in the next room is the clue you saw in an earlier cut scene.

Run across the room, push the middle button to change the 7 above it to a 1, reverse roll and loop around left past the railing down a ramp.

 

When a cut release of the released boulder appears, run the rest of the way down the ramp and jump left at the opening into a fountain alcove. Wait for the boulder to pass by, hop back into the passage for a flare and the LOCK PICK, and run back up the ramp to the previous room. Go down the parallel ramp on the S side of the room and use the Lock Pick in the NE receptacle to lift the door to your left. Open the small chest inside for the GRENADE GUN, go over to the SE corner and do the same thing to obtain revolver ammo and release a swarm of bat-like creatures. Reverse roll, run back up the ramp and they'll eventually disperse.

 

Continue W through two openings, turn right and go past the opened double gates to the beginning passage. Turn left, run past the twin skeleton guards and turn left through the opening in the gate. Swim quickly (because of those killer goldfish) across the gap to where Goliath is stomping about, pull out and use your revolver to get him off his feet. This will take about 30 rounds, but you should have more than enough.  While Goliath is lying on his back, stand a good distance away and fire a grenade to finish him off. The faithful puppy will then stroll blithely past that blade-trapped opening that would have killed you had you tried to do so.

 

Before leaving, go to the corpse lying at the N edge of the platform and grab 4 x revolver ammo and grenades. Swim back across to the courtyard, go through the same gate opening and down those ledges to your left. Take a curved running jump to grab that opening in the S wall, pull inside and flip out the other side. Turn left and go past the deactivated blade trap into a room with a closed gate. Pull down the wall switch to open it, whistle for the puppy to say goodbye and run W up the steps to end the level.
