ESCAPE FROM THE SHIP

Face a closed gate at the start, turn around and pick up the flares. Jump into the water and swim down past the submerged vessel to the SE corner. Find the floor hole, swim down the long shaft, surface and pull out to a seeming dead end. However, turn around to see that you can continue along the long underwater passage, so take a deep breath and do that. You'll arrive at the end with very little air left, so pull out and grab the small medipack and THE HAND OF SIRIUS

 

There's nothing to do now but go back the way you came, so repeat that long swim back to the opening area, pausing for air before swimming up the shaft. At the NE corner is another floor hole with a long shaft, much the same as the first one. Pause to fill your lungs with air at the handy alcove, perform another long and arduous swim through a winding passage until you're rewarded with the chimes of SECRET #1 and an approaching crocodile. Surface and wade out quickly to deal with the croc and go to the far wall for revolver ammo.

 

Swim all the way back to the submerged vessel. Near the middle of the W wall is -- you guessed it, another floor hole. Swim down to find two possible routes this time. Begin with the N side, swim down the short shaft and along the winding passage in a generally downward direction to a small medipack and THE HAND OF ORION. Return to the shaft, go across S and down, go right to the W air pocket to fill your lungs and continue E along the passage to an underwater door. Open it, swim inside and surface.

 

Pull out E, run forward to find a pushblock among the crates and pull it two times to reveal a wall switch that lifts a gate blocking an alcove. Shoot the wooden boxes scattered throughout this room. Four of them hide shotgun ammo, flares and the SHOTGUN (watch out for the steam) and the CROWBAR, and a fifth one exposes a burning tile. On the S side of the room, get on the higher grated floor and find another pushblock that hides a short passage leading to the GOLDEN STAR. Pry it off the wall and go over to the N side of the room. There you will find at floor level a pushblock that hides a short passage leading to the REVOLVER for SECRET #2.

 

Get up onto the grated floor, pull up higher W and go through the opening to a receptacle for The Hand of Orion. A gate opens to your left, so pull up to a higher passage and follow around the corner to a receptacle for the Golden Star. Go past the opened gate to a fixed camera in a bathroom and loop around right. Check the private stalls for shotgun ammo and a small medipack, go across the room and check the shower stalls on the E side for a large medipack.

 

Note the caged plinth and go through the S opening to a flooded ballroom. Wade to the column against the E wall and pull the lower portion once N to lower the cage surrounding the plinth and also to flood the lower deck. Return to the previous room, take the TORCH from the plinth and exit NE. Get back down to the lower deck and wade over toward the burning tile. Jump straight up when you reach the higher floor and you should land there. Stand close to but not on the burning tile and light the torch. Make your way to the N side of the room, hop up onto the grated floor, hop up again to the higher grated floor and go through the W opening.

 

Make a couple of jumps to get to the higher passage and follow to the bathroom. Light four wall sconces and a cage rises in the flooded ballroom. Take the torch there with you, wade across to the stage and jump straight up with the up arrow key depressed to get onto it. Locate and light four candles to raise a block next to the raised cage. Use it to jump to the top of the cage and onto the upper walkway. A skeleton awakens nearby, so quickly turn left and run around to the SE corner. Drop the torch long enough to open the crowbar door, pick it up and hop N onto bridge. Light three wall sconces to lower a block somewhere.

 

You still need the torch, so get back down to the walkway and don't allow the skeleton to push you further down to the lower passage. Run past the skeleton along the walkway to the raised cage where you can blast it down to the ballroom stage with the shotgun. There's another crowbar door in the N wall near the NW corner. Open it and enter with your torch. Hop up E to a conference room and go around to light four wall sconces. Drop the torch and place The Hand of Sirius in the E wall receptacle. A cage lowers behind you, so pull up through the ceiling hole for the GATE KEY and get back down to the crowbar door opening (leaving the torch behind).

 

Hang from the E side, shimmy right around the corner and follow to a crawl space where you can pull inside for SECRET #3. Bug alert: The LASER SIGHT is in the floor hole on the other side, but in my game Lara refused to drop down in there to get it. No matter, you have no need of it anyway.

 

Safety drop to the passage and go back W to the corner floor hole. Get down to the main deck, which has now become completely flooded, and jump into the water. Swim across to the SW corner and down the floor hole to a familiar winding passage. Follow back up to where you began the level, surface at the ceiling hole and pull out N. Walk up to place the Gate Key, go out into the open air and the level ends.
