IMPORTANT NOTE: Lara doesn’t have unlimited ammo in this game, or her dual pistols, but the level-builder was generous with the ammo and supplies. If you collect the supplies and ammo and use them strategically, you’ll have more than enough to beat the game. Also, the three first levels are interconnected, so you can use level-jumps to replenish Lara’s health, instead of using a medipack. If you really have to spend a medipack, use Large Medipacks and conserve Small Medipacks (Golden Olives) for crafting poison arrows. This walkthrough describes the shortest and most economic route through the first three levels and also the best recommended strategies for the battles and puzzles.

-------------- OASIS: THE VILLAGE (first visit) --------------
LARA’S CAMP (BOW): When the level loads, Lara has only her Digital Diary (PDA) in the Inventory, along with the Compass and Spying Glass. Read the PDA to learn about useful keyboard shortcuts and why Lara and Jonah decided to visit this oasis. Just a few steps ahead, on a small stool, you’ll find the BOW (crouch to pick up). Turn around and shoot to break wooden crates with Arrows, 2xUC, SS and LM. Jump onto the rocky ledge with the trees behind Lara’s tent, and from the ground beneath the trees, take 2xSM. On the branches of the trees, you’ll again find 2xSM. Remember: Small medipacks can always be found on the branches and beneath the olive trees. Go around to the front of Lara’s tent and pick up LM and Flares. In the truck of Lara’s jeep, you’ll find 2 x Arrows.
Open the gate with the aid of the FL nearby and enter the cave passage. Two black cats will attack, one after the other. You can kill them with the normal arrows or simply lure them toward Jonah, and he’ll kill them for you. Once you exit the cave passage, a third cat will attack, so choose how you want it to be eliminated. At the giant obelisk, go S and down the stairs between two cat statues. Look to the right, there’s a square opening with stairs, leading to the main village street. Go through and Lara’s PDA will be updated: the locals have left supplies for Lara everywhere in the village.
MARKETPLACE (DJED PILLAR): There are two market stands to the left. Go around, into the corner with some palms, and locate a glowing triangular opening. Drop in, then crawl through the greenery between the stacked carpets and wooden cart, blast the crate to find Arrows and SS, and push the PB into the basement from this side. Push/pull the PB to the other side, to stand beneath a WS, climb on it and use the switch to drop the trapdoor. Go back to where you found the block and ammo, drop into the room below and take DJED PILLAR. Climb back out into the main street. Jonah should be nearby, waving at Lara, near another market stand. Just to the right of this market stand there’s a shootable vase with 2xSM. Go through this narrow street to the left and make a mental note of the bread oven ahead (West). Then enter a wider main street to the left.
MARKETPLACE (SUPPLIES & SECRET 1): Face S and enter the open room to the left of the local lady selling the goods. Climb the stacked carpets to the right and take 2xUC. Exit on the other side, above a small river. Outside, to the right, you’ll see a fish monger. Ahead, there’s a wide stone bridge (for later). For now, go right, and climb into a high crawlspace near the fish monger. Inside you’ll find an LM on the closet to the right, UC on the table and OLD KEY at the nightstand. Go out the way you came (the door is booby-trapped with spikes). Go left, beyond the wide stone bridge, toward the next building. There’s some greenery hanging from the ledge above, and a crawlspace is concealed in this greenery. Crawl in and inside the small house, take SS from the cabinet, and 2xSM from the shootable vase in the window. Go back out and drop into the river. Go toward the wide stone bridge to lure 2 crocodiles out of the UW tunnel, and sprint through the shallow NE, back toward the large obelisk. From the dry ground you can shoot and kill both beasts. Then go back under the wide stone bridge, enter the deeper water, jump up to force Lara to dive, and swim into the crocodiles’ liar. Inside, you’ll find SECRET 1: LM and Flares. Climb out and get back to the main village street.
MARKETPLACE (SUPPLIES & SECRET 2): Face S, toward the wooden ramp with wheels. Just to the right, near the house corner, you’ll see three shootable vases. In the largest vase you’ll find SM. Then go up the ramp, onto the awning, jump over the fence and enter the raised alleys. Go right, into a narrow diagonal alley that goes all the way around the central tower, shoot the vase there and take Flares (use Camera button to aim with the Bow). Get back out of the diagonal alley to a place from where you can jump onto the diagonal parapet above this diagonal alley. There you’ll find 3xUC in a shootable crate. Go back to the upper alley, get SM from the cabinet inside a small shop with a male local inside. Then up the ramp behind this small shop, to more market stands with more locals. Unlock the door with the Small key and take SECRET 2: UZIS, SM and UC. Go back out and down to the main village street.
MARKETPLACE (CROWBAR & PRAYER 1): This time face N. Just to the left of a market stand with carpets, there’s a stack of shootable crates, with Arrows and LM. Lara will think something like: “Oh, here’s where they drove in the vehicle with our additional equipment.” This is a hint. Approach the blue three-wheeler in the doorway of the house, and pull it out twice, so that you can enter the room behind it. In three shootable crates you’ll find: Grenades, Flares, 2 x Arrows, 2xUC, SS and CROWBAR. Go out, then to the right and up the stairs that lead to the roof of this house. Walk the plank to the left, into the thick high wall, then use the greenery on the wall right to get into the high passage. Make a mental note of the sand pile to the right (Lara will say that she needs a shovel here), unlock the door with Djed Pillar and pick up PRAYER 1 from the pedestal.
MARKETPLACE (PRAYER 2): Go back down into the village, then go S, keeping the high thick wall on Lara’s right. You’ll get past the door that is booby trapped with spikes on the other side, so you can ignore it. Go through the opening S and across a narrow stone bridge. Lara will say that the current in the opening in the wall to her right, with a small waterfall, isn’t very strong. SJ to grab the edge of the opening, pull in and immediately press Jump (to start swimming) and Down and Lara will swim in and beat the current. Swim all the way to the other side of the pool and notice a closed door to the left along the way. Climb out of the pool near the waterfall and locate a JS on a small bridge opposite the waterfall. Drop from the bridge to grab it and the door in the pool will open. Swim into the UW room which is now ahead and to the right, and use two UW levers in the near left and right corner, to disable the spikes. Now you can take PRAYER 2. Swim out into the pool, then left toward the waterfall and climb out of the water.
CAMELS (SUPPLIES): Now you have 2 Prayers and can go to the second level, but before you do, make sure to explore this part of the village and pick up many supplies scattered around this place. First go left toward the camels. Approach the camel in the middle from its side and take 2xLM and also Arrows from the other side of the camel. You’ll notice another giant obelisk in the corner. Go towards it, then turn left (E) at the corner and use the button in the passage to open large double doors. You don’t have to go back to the Marketplace now, it’s for later. Go back to the obelisk, and beyond it, toward a Dig Here sign. Make a mental note of this, then jump diagonally to the right to land beneath another olive tree. In the branches you’ll find SM and beneath in the grass, another SM. To the right, on the branches of another olive tree, you’ll find another SM. If you look to the right (NW corner of the village), you may be able to see another large double door.
Go back to the camels and use the crowbar to pry open the door of the house near the camels. Inside, on the cabinets, you’ll find 2 x Arrows, 2xSS and Flares. Go back out, then explore a small kitchen to the left. Note the burning stove, in case you need it later, and take Arrows from the cabinet. Go back out, then go up the stairs near the camels, to get to the roof of this building, with more locals and market stands. On two pedestals you’ll find Arrows and Flares, and in the large vase near two locals, 3xSM. You can drop to the ground from here NW and pry open the door of the building in the NW corner, next to the large, closed double doors in the very corner. Take Arrows from the cabinet, and pry open the next door.
RUINS (TO THE BRIDGE): Enter the dark passage and save your game before you RJ with Grab across the spike pit. Climb up the blocks to the FL and open the gate nearby. In the wide passage to the left, go first left to open the big double door leading back to the village (also for later), and then go the other way, through the gate you’ve just opened. Turn right near the next giant obelisk and enter the ruins with statues. Note two closed golden doors to the left and right, and keep going E into the next room, where you can place 2 Prayers into their receptacles and open the gate. Go through the passage to the next level.
-------------- OASIS: THE BRIDGE (first visit) --------------
GRAND STAIRCASE (TORCH): There’s a lot to explore and a lot of supplies to gather, but for now, we’ll get the Torch and explore the area later. There’s a pyramid dead ahead and a long, L-shaped bridge above a shallow lake to the right. Follow this bridge toward the small temple entrance, but don’t enter the temple yet. When you reach the stairs at the end of the bridge, drop down to the left, onto a small island with an olive tree. Take 2xSM from the ground and 2xSM from the branches. Then jump into the open room beneath the small temple entrance. Around the corner you’ll be attacked by 2 ninjas. Eliminate them with Uzis, take their UC and UZIS, and take the TORCH from the pedestal. Make your way back onto the bridge, and sprint back towards the obelisk, and then to the left, into the tunnel that leads back to the Village level.
-------------- OASIS: THE VILLAGE (second visit) --------------
MARKETPLACE (SPHERE/EXPLOSIVE ARROWS): You can re-enter the first level with your Torch already ignited (if you entered the small temple at the end of the bridge and ignited the Torch at the altar), or with your Torch not yet ignited. In any case, sprint back to the Village through the wide passage and double doors (open them with the button if you haven’t already). You can ignite the Torch in the small kitchen near the camels. Then run with the ignited Torch back to the marketplace, to the main village street, where you found the crowbar (again, through the large double doors, and if you haven’t opened them already, you can do it now with a button). You have to ignite the bread oven just to the right of the house where you found the Crowbar (approach this oven from its side, not from its front). Wait for the box inside the oven to explode, then go to the front of the oven and take the SPHERE OF SEKHMET. Now you can CRAFT EXPLOSIVE ARROWS.
RUINS (PRAYER 3): Bring the ignited Torch with you after taking the Sphere and go back to the Ruins (toward the entrance to the second level). Once there, go to the right and drop the Torch in front of the closed door. Go back out into the main courtyard, and now to the right and into a crawlspace in the corner. Use the button here to open the door where you dropped the Torch. Return there and enter the room you’ve just opened. Three suspended boulders are hanging above, and the floor beneath them is damaged. Use the crevice in the wall on the right to enter the alcove with the button that raises the block in the room. Go get the Torch and now you can RJ across the blocks to get to the blocks with three suspended boulders. Ignite the ropes of all three suspended boulders, the boulders will drop and break through the floor. You basically don’t need the Torch for now, so you can drop it and leave it. Drop through the ruined floor and go past three hanging chains.
Climb into the opening in the wall, that leads to a room with a pedestal. Save your game here. Then RJ without Grab from this opening to clear the deep pit and land on the floor to the left of the pedestal. Take PRAYER 3 from the pedestal. Two Ahmets will emerge from the side rooms. Kill them both (e.g. with Uzis) and once they’re both dead, the exit door will open. Exit and go left, to enter the Bridge level.
-------------- OASIS: THE BRIDGE (second visit) --------------
PYRAMID (SUPPLIES): Theoretically, we can now enter the third level, because we have the Sphere, the grenades and flares. However, the level-builder strongly suggests that you gather all olive branches you can, and by all means, find a way to craft poison arrows before entering the Caves. 3xSM can be found under and in the tree near the entrance to the Pyramid. Then climb onto the rocky ledge behind this tree, to the right of the Pyramid entrance, and then find another olive tree in the corner, to the left of the sphynx above the Pyramid entrance. Here you’ll find 5xSM. Drop to the ground, enter the Pyramid, kill two ninjas with Uzis, and take 2xUC from them. Approach the closed door (two Urns needed here) and the PDA will be updated: We need 3, then 5 liters of water for the Scales… Go back out and diagonally to the left, across a narrow diagonal bridge to the left of the stacked blocks. At the end of this path, near the car, you’ll meet two more ninjas, carrying 2xUC. From here, look towards the Pyramid. There’s an island with palms and an olive tree in the lake on the line of sight. There you’ll collect 4xSM.
LAKE (SUPPLIES & SECRET 3): Climb onto or get back to the bridge and jump to the high, wide rocky ledge beneath the Pyramid. There’s a cave opening there and a door you can pry open with the Crowbar. Shoot the first vase and wooden crates to find UC, SM and Arrows. In the back, on a wooden shelf, you’ll find Grenades. As you go out of this cave and emerge outside, drop into the water to the left, and find SECRET 3: Arrows in a small tunnel to the left of the waterfalls.
ALTAR (DODECAHEDRON/POISON ARROWS): Enter the small temple and eliminate 4 ninjas in two side rooms and take 3xUC and Flares. At the altar, take DODECAHEDRON OF SERKET, which is the tool for crafting poison arrows. You need 2 arrows and 3 SM to craft 2 poison arrows, but there’s a lot of SMs to find. Craft some 15 poison arrows if you can, or as many as you can, because for now, you can use level-jumps to replenish Lara’s health. Poison arrows are the reason why this game is easy to beat even without the dual pistols. In case of an urgent need to heal Lara, you can of course, use an LM, since SM is needed for poison arrows.
TO THE CAVES: Craft four or six explosive arrows and make more if you need them later. For now, that’s all you need. There’s a tunnel to the right (E) of the bridge. Blast the stalactites with one explosive arrow and proceed to the Caves.
-------------- OASIS: THE CAVES (first visit) --------------
MINEFIELD (SECRET 4): Enter the area with the fence and eliminate two ninjas with Uzis. Take 2xUC from them. Facing the fence, the minefield is to the right and to the left, there is a rock formation with many stones and a boulder. Find the path to the rocky ledge between large stones towards the entrance a bit and push that boulder off the rocky ledge towards the minefield. It will blast the first mine. Drop down and push it carefully toward the other side of the cavern. When you cannot push it anymore, carefully squeeze between the boulder and the raised step to the right, and standing on the planks (safe square), push the boulder so that you can reach another square with planks. Keep pushing the boulder all the way to the wall. RJ into SE corner of the minefield to find SECRET 4: SS and RB. RJ back carefully to the safe path to the left of the boulder and from there jump into the tunnel in the corner near the boulder. At the first Trinity camp, eliminate 2 ninjas and blast two crates, to get SS and 2xUC.
DIG SITE (SUPPLIES): Use normal arrows or Uzis to blast the crate on the left, near the Anubis statue, then another crate near the window opposite the Anubis statue, and another crate on a low rocky formation next to the modern-day building (near the ladder). This will give you 4xUC. Proceed toward another Trinity tent with a heavy-duty truck and eliminate two ninjas. Take their UC and LM. Then climb the rocky ledge to the right of the campfire, RJ onto the blue container to the left, and find 2xUC on the box. Before you enter the Heliport, climb on the black parapet to the right of the truck, blast the crate and take 2xUC.
HELIPORT (SHOTGUN, LASER SIGHT, COPPER KEY & SECRET 5): There are several strategies to go through the next section. This walkthrough describes the easiest strategy. As you enter, simply run/sprint to the left (E) to avoid enemy fire, then into the cavern with stacked containers on the right. Run into the open blue container S, where you’re safe, and pick up the SHOTGUN, 5xSS and 2 x Grenades. Run out of the container, sprint forward (N) and jump or climb into the cave tunnel ahead. Blast the stalactites with one explosive ammo, then change the weapon (e.g. take normal arrows, Uzis or Shotgun with blue shells). In the cavern, RJ across the water toward the campfire, turn around and kill two crocodiles. Pull the dead soldier away and pick up LASER SIGHT and COPPER KEY. Jump into the water and swim into a small dark caver. Move another dead soldier here, and find SECRET 5: Arrows, RB, flares and UC. Get back to the cavern where you destroyed the stalactites.
HELIPORT (TRINITY SOLDIERS, SUPPLIES & SECRETS 6, 7 & 8): If you haven’t already, craft some poison arrows and equip the Bow with the Laser Sight. From the cavern, you can shoot the soldier on the containers ahead, and also the one on the rocky formation above and to the right. There’s one soldier on the wooden tower to the right, so eliminate him as well. Again: Fire one poison arrow at each target, then wait for a few seconds for the enemy to die. Drop from the cavern onto the container below, then onto the metal box to the right. RJ to grab the ledge at the wooden tower with the dead soldier. Take his SS. From this tower, you can shoot two soldiers on two wooden towers near the entrance (one is directly ahead, the other is diagonally to the right). Drop to the ground then run diagonally to the right, to climb the tower where you’ve just killed the enemy. Take his SS, then face the Heliport. Look up, toward a narrow wooden bridge at the top of the cavern. Eliminate two soldiers on the left, one at the level of the wooden bridge, the other on the rocky formation below. There’s another soldier you can kill from here: the one patrolling on an L-shaped black parapet to the right of the helicopter (from where you’re standing now).
Drop to the ground, and run/sprint across the Heliport, toward the truck to the left of the helicopter. From here, eliminate two soldiers S. Then run/sprint diagonally to the right, toward two large trucks, and hide behind them. There’s an enemy on the opposite side of the cave (E), so eliminate him from here. When they are all dead, run/sprint toward the big truck in the back of the Heliport (SE corner). From here, turn around to face NW and look up, on the large rocky ledge above the two trucks. Eliminate the soldier standing there. Now the coast is clear, and you can explore it, collect supplies and find three secrets. Climb on the truck in the SE corner, then SJ to grab the metal ledge above the large gate behind this truck. Take SECRET 6: 2xSS and LM. Jump back onto the truck, then to the black parapet left, and take LM from the dead soldier. Jump back onto the truck, then jump diagonally to the right, to take Flares from the dead soldier here. Drop to the ground, then go to the two large trucks, crawl beneath them and find RB in a shallow hole.
On the L-shaped black parapet where you killed the soldier, you’ll find his UC. In the cave wall here, there’s a crawlspace with SECRET 7: Flares, SS and LM. Then go down into the pit underneath the helicopter. In the metal structure below the helicopter, you’ll find SECRET 8: Arrows and SS. There are also supplies and ammo to collect from other dead soldiers and from the stacked containers, but you can do this on your next visit.
HELIPORT (ALTERNATIVE STRATEGIES): If you don’t have the Dodecahedron and cannot craft poison arrows, or if you want to try another strategy against the Heliport soldiers: you can run/sprint to evade the enemy fire, take the Laser Sight, and even the Shovel Blade, and get back to the previous level, without killing these soldiers (you can kill them on your next visit). Or you can try and eliminate them with Uzis or Shotgun, and soldiers high above the helicopter, with the Explosive arrows. It is also possible to eliminate all the soldiers with poison or explosive arrows even without the Laser Sight, as LoreRaider did in the video walkthrough for this level.
DIG SITE (SHOVEL BLADE): Go to the Anubis statue and locate the stacked wooden crates at the base of the Anubis statue. Blast these crates with an explosive arrow from a safe distance (they’ll explode and can hurt or even kill Lara). Drop into the dark passage, then through the ruined floor into the room below. Proceed to a room with several large upright coffins. Find a crawlspace W behind one of these coffins and press a button here to raise the block. Use this block to reach the room above and climb out. Don’t go out yet, but instead, enter the passage in the back of the modern-day building. Open the door, blast the empty wooden crates here, open another door, and unlock the next door with the Copper Key. Pull the block in this passage once, to open the passage behind this block. Go back to the modern-day building and use the switch to open the door. Two soldiers with shotguns and four ninjas will attack on your way out, so eliminate them with Uzis or Shotgun (red shells are more powerful than blue shells). When they’re dead, take 4xUC and 2xSS from them.
Find a narrow opening in the black parapet to the left of the modern-day building and the ladder. Follow this passage into a dark tunnel, where you’ll find another PB. Pull this block all the way back into a wider tunnel, where you can push it aside and enter the dark tunnel behind it. Squeeze between the wall corner and the boulder and push it from behind (where the dead soldier is). Then squeeze into the tunnel where you pulled the second block and push the boulder down the sloped corridor. Keep pushing the boulder until it breaks through the brick wall. Sprint into the mummification room, ignore the mummies (outrun them, lure them to one side etc.) and pick up SHOVEL BLADE from the dead soldier. Make your way back out to the Heliport or Dig Site, and then make your way back to the Bridge level. Along the way, you can open a shortcut at the first Trinity camp, with the aid of the WL, which bypasses the minefield. The alternative way to pick up the Shovel Blade is shown in LoreRaider’s video (link above). Both ways are legitimate and allowed by the level-builder.
NOTE: If you visit the area above the Dig Site and Heliport on your first visit, when you still don’t have the Golden Scarab, make sure to open the shortcut in the ruined rooms above the Dig Site, by pressing the button next to the small door above the modern-day building. On your second visit, you’ll just have to climb the ladder opposite the Anubis statue, to retrieve the Urn you need and you won’t have to jump via the suspended wooden cages above the Anubis.
-------------- OASIS: THE BRIDGE (fourth visit) --------------
BRIDGE (SHOVEL STICK): If you haven’t taken the Shovel Stick yet, do it now on your way back from the Caves. The STICK is on the wooden cart at the beginning of the bridge, near the market stands (there’s a camera hint here). Combine the Stick with the Blade to get the SHOVEL. Go back to the first level.
-------------- OASIS: THE VILLAGE (third visit) --------------
CAMELS (WINDING KEY & SUPPLIES): Go through the Ruins and to the Obelisk near the Camels. Beneath the olive trees, there’s a sign that indicates where you should dig. Stand below this sign, facing it, and press Action. Lara will dig through the sand and drop into a room below. The spikes aren’t active, so proceed freely into the room and take WINDING KEY from the pedestal. The spikes in the passage are now active and deadly. A dog comes out of a side room. Kill it, to open a door on the other side of the room. Press the button here to disable the spikes and make your way back to the Obelisk. Make sure to take the SHOVEL again, to reduce backtracking. Before you go to the Marketplace, locate a crate on the building next to the camels and blast that crate from a safe distance with an explosive arrow. Climb onto that building and take Grenades and LM.
MARKETPLACE (SMALL WATERSKIN): Cross the wide stone bridge near the fish monger, above the river where you killed the crocodiles and took the first secret. In the dark tunnel, you’ll see a passage to the left, blocked by sand. Press Action here and Lara will dig through the sand and drop into the room below. From a poor dead lad who fell in and couldn’t climb back up, take 2xUC and SMALL WATERSKIN. Go back out, take the SHOVEL and cross the stone bridge.
MARKETPLACE (SECRET 9): Go back to the main village street. Once again, walk the plank into the wall, where you found the Prayer on your first visit. Climb into the passage in the thick wall and use the shovel at the intersection, to remove the sand that blocks the access to the crevice in the wall. Make sure to take the SHOVEL before you crawl through the crevice. Crawl backwards into the crevice, hang and shimmy all the way to the right. Jump up to grab the crevice above, shimmy further to the right, then drop to grab the crevice below. Keep shimmying to the right until you can climb into a triangular hole in the wall. On the pedestal you’ll find SECRET 9: RB. Jump diagonally from here onto one roof or raised ledge, or simply shimmy back to the tunnel and get down to the ground safely. Even if you lose some health on your way down, it’s not a big deal. Lara’s health will be replenished once she’s back to the Bridge level.
-------------- OASIS: THE BRIDGE (fifth visit) --------------
OBELISK (PRAYER 4): Near the Obelisk, there’s another sign that indicates where you should use the Shovel. Face the Pyramid and press Action. Lara will dig through the sand and drop into a room below. Crawl through the low tunnel, stand up and slide down the sand on the right. Take PRAYER 4 from the pedestal. Make your way back to the Obelisk. There’s no need to pick up the Shovel again, if you have used it four times.
GRAND STAIRCASE (BEETLE 1): Enter the small temple at the top of the bridge, and then turn left into a side room at the Altar. Place two prayers into the receptacles to the right, to open the double door on the opposite side of the wall. You’ll emerge above the Scales terrace. Make a careful diagonal RJ without Action from the left-most corner of the grassy ledge to land on the stone ledge ahead. Follow it to the winged ledge high above the temple entrance. Jump across a slope, get onto the Horus ledge and RJ diagonally to land on another stone ledge. From the other end of this ledge, RJ to land on the grassy rocks in the corner. Carefully jump diagonally onto the grassy rock in the very corner, hang on the edge of this rock, shimmy to the left and around the corner, then drop and grab the JS below. The door ahead opens, so enter the small chamber and take BEETLE 1 from the pedestal.
GRAND STAIRCASE (BEETLE 2): Fill the Small Waterskin with water, go up to the Scales and pour 3 liters into it. A coffin will move aside inside the small temple, so go there and take BEETLE 2 from the shallow hole.
MUSIC ROOM (LARGE WATERSKIN): If you haven’t used the Torch in this level yet, go get a Torch from the pedestal below the grand staircase. You can ignite it at the altar inside the small temple. Then go out of the temple and find two burners to the left and right of the temple entrance (on cat statues). Ignite them both to lower two blocks below the grand staircase. Go there, place two Beetles in their receptacles, take the SCROLL from one pedestal and Arrows from the other, and enter the Music room. Place the Scroll at the pedestal next to the Lyre and watch the flyby: a block will lower outside. Go there and retrieve LARGE WATERSKIN.
ALTAR (MECHANICAL SCARAB): Fill the Large Waterskin in the shallow water and pour 5 liters into the Scales above. A trapdoor will drop inside the small temple. Go there (to the right of the altar), raise a block here with the wall switch, and climb into the room above (e.g. RJ from the raised block). Take the MECHANICAL SCARAB from the pedestal. Combine it with the Winding Key to obtain GOLDEN SCARAB.
ALTAR (URN 1): You can take Urn 1 now or later. Find an opening in the ceiling in the altar room (above the left-hand passage doorway). Climb into the room above and press the button to move aside another coffin in the temple. Make your way to the ground floor and enter the left-hand passage. Drop into the hole where the coffin used to be and enter the room with the pool and crocodiles. There’s no need to kill the crocodiles, you can simply outrun them. But if you want to kill them, use blue shells, as they are much weaker than the red shells, which will be very useful later. Drop into the pool, sprint through the shallow water to evade the crocodiles, and find a WL in the near left corner. This will open a door above and raise a block in the pool. Go to the block you’ve just raised and find a crevice in the wall to the left of this block (when facing the raising block). Jump up to grab the crevice, and then up to grab the crevice above. Jump backwards to land on the raised block behind Lara.
Then take the Bow with Laser Sight (or Revolver with the LS if you found it already) and shoot the large gong with Horus eye on the opposite side of the room. This will activate the sequence of the golden trapdoors. This sequence repeats, so if you fail the first time, you can try again. Time your stand-jumps (zig-zagging) onto the golden trapdoors, until you get into the passage on the right. Take URN 1 from the pedestal. On your way back, simply drop into the pool and sprint back to the raising block, where you can climb out. Make your way back to the Bridge. If you haven’t taken Urn 2 yet, go out to the Grand Staircase, drop on the left and enter the tunnel that leads to the Caves level.
-------------- OASIS: THE CAVES (second visit) --------------
DIG SITE (URN 2): Make your way to the Dig Site. If you opened the shortcut (door above the ladder), you can use it now. If you haven’t: there are some wooden structures to the left of the Anubis statue (when facing it). Jump up to grab the lower wooden ledge on the wooden pillar in the far-left corner of the Anubis statue. Don’t climb into this wooden pillar, but when hanging from the lower ledge, shimmy once to the left or right and jump up to grab the top of the wooden pillar. Approach the plank on the left (Anubis holds this plank in his hands). Shoot to break the crates on the plank, then walk the plank to the other side. RJ without Grab diagonally to land on the black parapet ahead. Go left, then jump up to grab the suspended wooden platform above. RJ to grab the next suspended platform. Blast the crates on the next suspended platform and RJ to grab its edge. Pull up and save your game. You have to RJ diagonally (without Grab) onto the last suspended platform. From there, jump into the cave tunnel to the right.
Follow this tunnel until you emerge high above the Dig Site. Enter the passage to the right. In the ruined chamber, look up. You’ll see a room with pedestals and two glowing stars in the ceiling. Blast these two stars with normal arrows (and Laser Sight), to open the door nearby. In the passage, use the Golden Scarab to disable the spikes, go up into the room above and take URN 2 and LM from the pedestals. Make sure to take the Golden Scarab after use. Drop to the lower floor. There’s a button here that opens the door that leads back to the Dig Site. Press it if you haven’t already. NOTE: If you haven’t picked up the Revolver or 18xSM yet, then don’t go back to the Dig Site yet.
HELIPORT (SUPPLIES & REVOLVER): Climb through the opening in the wall next to the button and the door. Follow the cave tunnel until you emerge high above the Heliport. RJ diagonally from the broken wooden bridge to the rocky ledge on the right. Then RJ to land on the other side of the broken wooden bridge. Carefully walk (or crawl) under the low rocks. First go beyond the wooden bridge (which is on your left) and take SS from the dead soldier here. Cross the bridge, take SS from another dead soldier. Then drop from this rocky ledge onto the rocky ledge below. Take LM from the dead soldier. If you look down, to the truck next to the helicopter, you’ll notice the ammo on this truck, but don’t jump there yet. First go into the opening in the cave wall, facing the stacked containers. Jump a bit diagonally to the left and take SS from the dead soldier. Blast the crates ahead, jump there and pick up UC. Jump back onto the previous metal crate and from there, onto the red container. Go behind the stacked containers and make your way into the open blue container in the corner. Blast the crate to find 2xUC, and another crate to find 3xUC. From the ammo box, take REVOLVER and RB.
On your way out of this blue container, go to the right and around to the other side. Use the stacked bricks to climb on top of the stacked containers. In the cave ceiling above the containers, you’ll see an opening. Jump up twice and pull up into an outside room with olive trees. Pick up from the ground and from the branches 18xSM in total. Drop down onto the stacked containers. Walk to the NW corner of the top-most container and jump onto the rocky ledge there. Take SS from the dead soldier. Carefully RJ from here SE to land on the grassy ledge below. From here, make a RJ to land on the truck next to the helicopter, and take UC. Now you’ve collected everything and can go back to the Bridge.
-------------- OASIS: THE BRIDGE (last visit) --------------
PYRAMID (ANKH): Go into the Pyramid, and place two Urns at the pedestals. As you enter the Pyramid, jump across the broken ledge, and shoot to kill two harpies (Uzi clips, or shells). Open two sarcophaguses to get Arrows, LM, SS and Flares. Go around the central obelisk to the pedestal and take the ANKH. Two wraiths will wake up and chase Lara. Sprint out and to the left, across the Bridge, and into the small temple. If you want, you can wait near the altar for the wraiths to die at the Horus statue, or you can simply proceed to the next level. As you enter the small temple, enter the right-hand passage. Place the Ankh into the receptacle to open the door, to finish the level.
-------------- TEMPLE OF THE HIGHPRIESTS --------------
COURTYARD (SECRET 10 & SUPPLIES): As you enter, directly opposite the entrance (W) you’ll see the entrance to the Seth Chambers, and a huge olive tree just to the right of it. You’ll find 4xSP in the shallow water beneath the large olive tree, and 3xSM in and beneath the smaller tree behind it. Climb on the rocky ledge behind this smaller tree and find a tunnel with SECRET 10: RB. Now you can decide which challenge you want to solve first. You are free to choose the Challenge of Apis first, and to complete the Challenge of Seth before the Challenge of Horus, or vice versa.
COURTYARD (CENTAURS): No matter which sequence of the challenges you choose, after every challenge, you’ll be attacked by two Centaurs in the courtyard upon your return (in total, six Centaurs). There are several ways to defeat them, depending on the amount of ammo you have. The easiest way to defeat them is to shoot one poison arrow at each Centaur, then run/sprint into the NW corner where the water is deeper and where you can hide in the UW tunnel and wait for the Centaurs to die of poison. Or you can select a direct approach and kill them with red shells, explosive arrows, revolver bullets, or even Uzis. Choose whichever strategy works best for you. Also, after every battle, two cages beneath the Courtyard will open. Make sure to explore these cages, because you’ll find a lot of supplies there: Flares, 8xSS, Shotgun, 3xLM, Grenades, Revolver, 2xRB, 2 x Arrows, Uzis and 2xUC. Some of these ammo clips and medipacks will re-appear if you run out of them, so if you run out of shotgun shells (for example), get back to the cages and check if there’s more shotgun shells to collect.
THE CHALLENGE OF HORUS
HORUS KEY: The HORUS KEY that unlocks the Chambers of Horus in the NW corner of the courtyard is under the water, in the NW corner of the courtyard, literally beneath the entrance to the Chambers of Horus. On your way back from the UW room, be careful and avoid the scissors blades. Unlock the Chambers of Horus and enter. The door closes behind Lara. The exit door is to the right, currently shut. Go down and into the large room with a giant Horus statue (on Lara’s right). Enter the doorway straight ahead. Our task here is to find two Eyes of Horus and give them back to the god of air, and in return, he’ll give us the Book.
ELEVATOR: There are several ways to solve this puzzle, and this walkthrough describes the shortest and most economic. The golden platform ahead with curtains and burners is actually an elevator, currently on floor 1. We have to send it to floor 4 and also open a few doors in the elevator shaft and move a few wooden cages that you can see above, just beneath the ceiling. The WL to the left of the elevator shaft sends the elevator to floor 1, and you don’t have to use it. The WL to the right of the elevator sends the elevator to floor 2, so use it now. The elevator goes up, and now you can crawl into the opening at the bottom of the elevator shaft (basement level). To the right you’ll find a button, so press it to raise a block (not seen in the flyby) and to open a door on floor 5 in the elevator shaft. Make a mental note of the raised block next to this button. There’s a WL in the other corner of the basement room, which sends the elevator to floor 2, in case you end up in the basement when the elevator is on floor 1. If it’s already on floor 2, ignore this lever, in that case it does nothing. Crawl back out into the elevator room.
With the elevator on floor 2, jump off of the sloped doorway onto the mobile wooden platform in the NW corner, when this platform is near its lowest point. Face South – SE a bit, hop back, and as soon as the wooden platform reaches the reddish strip on the wall, run and jump, to land on the stone block just above the entrance to the elevator room. From here, RJ to land on the winged platform in the middle. RJ into the elevator (not on the roof of the elevator but onto the floor of the elevator). Enter the passage to the right and use the button here to activate two alternating golden platforms on the S wall. Drop down to the floor, use the mobile wooden platform in the NW corner to get back to the winged platform, and this time, RJ to grab the elevator roof. Pull up and RJ to grab the golden bar on the wall (on the left, when facing the entrance and winged platform). Swing about it, slide all the way to the right, and time your jump onto the first golden trapdoor. Roll and run a bit to the right, then jump or RJ onto the central winged platform, just behind the Horus statue. From here, RJ onto the second golden trapdoor when it goes up, and SJ onto the wooden platform to the left of the entrance. Jump into the alcove, press the button here and raise the third golden trapdoor (N wall). Drop down onto the wooden platform, and RJ diagonally to the left, to land on the stone ledge above the entrance. RJ to land on the winged platform, behind the other Horus statue. From here, you can RJ diagonally to land on the raised golden trapdoor. Alternatively, RJ from the winged platform to grab the elevator roof, pull up and RJ to grab the golden bar on the other side. Swing about it and land on the golden trapdoor. Once there, RJ to grab the wall with the greenery (E), pull into the opening above and jump with Action into the nearest suspended wooden cage. RJ with Action onto the next one, then onto the third one, and RJ into the tunnel in the wall S. Use the WL here to send the elevator to floor 3.
With the elevator on floor 3, make your way back to the first suspended wooden cage (from this side of the room, it will be the third). Once there, RJ to land on the elevator roof. Crawl into the tunnel here and use the WL on the right to send the elevator to floor 4. Go to the other side of the room, climb onto the raised block (it will be raised only if you used the button in the basement room), and RJ to grab the greenery on the central pillar. Climb around the central pillar to the other side and drop to grab the JS. This will open a door on level 2 and also lower the block in the basement. Go back out and onto the elevator floor (it’s on floor 4 now). Jump into the water below, climb out and re-enter the basement room. Go right and into a narrow tunnel with the ladder. Climb up to the 2nd floor. Go right, then RJ with Grab across the elevator shaft, and use the button here to “mobilize” one of those three suspended wooden cages on the N wall and to lower another block (which opens another shortcut), just above the entrance. Drop down to the floor and make your way back to the stone ledge above the entrance (via the mobile wooden platform in the SE corner). Enter the doorway here, then go right at the intersection, climb the ladder and enter the passage where you sent the elevator to floor 3. Do not touch the switch again. RJ with Action onto the nearest suspended wooden cage, then RJ with Action onto the second, and carefully jump (with Action) on the moving wooden cage near the W wall (when it goes down). RJ from this platform when it’s going up, to land on the elevator roof (the elevator is on floor 4).
Use the button behind the open door here to lower a wooden cage near the N wall. Go out and carefully jump from the elevator roof to grab the golden bar on the wall, swing about it and jump to grab the edge of the wooden cage in the corner (you’ve just lowered it). Jump with Action into the next suspended cage, then into the third one. Here, carefully jump with grab into the suspended wooden cage that goes up and down (when it goes down). Turn to face the entrance (E), and RJ to grab the JS above the door when the wooden cage is near its lowest point. This will open the door outside in the main Chamber of Horus. When the flyby ends, go forward into the passage, then left and up the stairs, to emerge high above the main Chamber of Horus. RJ diagonally to the right to land on the platform with obelisks.
PUSHABLE BARS: To get to the other side (E) of the main Chamber of Horus, you have to swing about four golden bars, but right now, only two golden bars are in place. In the side room S you’ll see two pushable obelisks, each of them having a golden bar attached to it. As you assume, you have to push these two obelisks out into the main Chamber of Horus and place them between the other two obelisks, to be able to use the golden bars and get to the other side of the Chamber of Horus. LoreRaider’s video describes one way to do that (faster). This walkthrough describes the alternative route (select the one you like better). For now, from the main Chamber of Horus, jump onto the raised ledge with a PB, and push that block out, so that you can climb via this block onto the floor above. Enter the room S, jump onto the suspended wooden cage and RJ to grab the JS ahead. Drop into the pool in the room with pushable obelisks. Four blocks have been raised in this room, to the left and right, and one block in the water, that connects two ledges between the raised blocks.
Push one obelisk across this raised block in the water, to stand near the taller raised block. Then push the other obelisk twice due N. Jump from the lower golden block onto the bar, swing about, jump and grab the other bar, swing about it and land on the taller block. RJ to grab the crevice on the wall W, shimmy a bit to the left, jump up and climb into the alcove. Use the button here, then drop to the crevice again, shimmy to the left, again jump up and climb into the second alcove with a button. Press it, and two more blocks will be raised in the pool behind Lara. Safely drop to the ground. Now push two obelisks with bars to stand between the other two raised blocks and repeat the same process to get into two alcoves on the E wall. Pressing these two buttons will raise two last blocks in the pool and lower four blocks on the path. Now you can push/pull two obelisks out into the main Chamber of Horus and place them between the other two obelisks with golden bars. RJ diagonally to land into the pool at the feet of the giant Horus statue.
EYE OF HORUS 1: Climb out of the water to the right of the giant Horus statue, and climb into the alcove there, where you can press a button. This will raise a block in the pool, so you can now climb out of this pool on the other side (S). Go back into the Elevator room (the passage to the right) and use the moving wooden platform in the NW corner to get to the ledge above the entrance. Go up the stairs and save before you try to jump and grab the first golden bar. RJ and grab the first golden bar, swing about it, jump to grab the second, then repeat the same process until you make it into the open doorway (this door opens with the JS in the Elevator room). Go down the stairs, jump to the right and take EYE OF HORUS 1 from the pedestal. Make your way to the other side of the room, climb the ladder and jump back off of the ladder, with twist in mid-air and grab the edge of the central pillar. Shimmy around the corner to the right, and jump up to grab a crevice above Lara, in the large light shaft. Shimmy to the right, then jump up to grab another crevice. Keep shimmying to the right and jumping for a higher crevice, until you can pull up onto the tunnel above.
EYE OF HORUS 2: In the room with a broken staircase, find a Horus statue with a mirror on its head. Pull this statue once, so that it stands between the stairs and the raised block to the right. Go up the stairs, and RJ diagonally to land on a thin ledge in the main Chamber of Horus, to the right. Follow that ledge into the side room and use the WL here to lower the block on Lara’s left. You can now pull the Horus statue out and into the main Chamber of Horus, all the way to the end of the thin ledge where you jumped. This will lower two blocks back in the side room and also drop two dangling ropes from the ceiling. Go back to the side room and pick up Arrows and EYE OF HORUS 2 from the pedestals. Re-enter the room with the broken stairs and go up the stairs, and then right. RJ to grab the horizontal light beam between two pushable Horus statues, swing about it, jump and grab the dangling rope. Then jump to grab the other dangling rope ahead. Carefully pivot Lara a bit to the right (NW), slide to the end of the rope, swing and carefully jump off from the rope to land on a thin protruding ledge with a sand pile. Drop to grab the greenery below, shimmy a bit to the right and then climb the ladder down, until the blue decorative wall strip is on Lara’s left and right. Back flip from the ladder to land on Horus’s arm. Then RJ into the NW corner behind Horus and press the button to open the door between Horus’s arms.
THE BOOK: From the button, RJ diagonally (banana jump) to grab the ladder, climb up until the decorative blue strip on the wall is on Lara’s left and right, then backflip onto the Horus’s arms again. This time go through the passage between Horus’s arms and draw your weapons (e.g. Shotgun). Kill one giant spider from the doorway, then cross the bridge and kill another giant spider. Take the HORUS KEY from the second spider and go back out into the main Chamber of Horus. Simply RJ to land into the water pool below and climb out of water between Horus’s feet. Follow the long corridor to a keyhole, use the Horus key here and open the door. Go up the stairs, place two Eyes of Horus in their receptacles, and what a flyby: the gates in the room above will open, and also the trapdoor – another shortcut). Use the ladder N to get back to the room above, enter the small room N and take the BOOK from the pedestal. The flyby sequence shows that the exit door has opened. After the flyby, go S, across the pool, and turn left (E). The exit door you’ve just opened is on the left. Go through and on your way back into the Courtyard, eliminate two Centaurs as described above and pick up the goodies from their cages.
THE CHALLENGE OF APIS
APIS KEY: The entrance to the Chambers of Apis is in the NE corner of the Courtyard. There’s some sand piles, rocks and palms to the right of the entrance to the Chambers of Apis (E). Climb into the tunnel behind the palms and find the APIS KEY inside. Go back out and unlock the Chambers of Apis. Climb down and go down the ramp, until you emerge in a room with a rotating ram above a quicksand pit. Drop onto the ledge shaped like a cross. Make your way across to the other side and press the button to raise four blocks in the room. Jump diagonally to the ledge to the left or right of the button, then a RJ to land behind the raised block N. Then jump to grab the crevice below the entrance, jump up to grab the edge of the entrance, and climb up. Time your jump onto the raised block ahead, when the rotating ram moves to the right. SJ or RJ as necessary from one block to another counter-clockwise, until you can jump into the alcove E. Press the button here to open the door S, and SJ or RJ as necessary across the raised block, again counter-clockwise, avoiding the rotating ram, until you can jump through the open door. Carefully time your running jumps in the next room, to avoid lateral rams and don’t fall into the quicksand. Open the door ahead with the button and enter.
SETH KEY: Look up and locate three heads of Apis with gems in their mouth. Use Revolver with Laser Sight to break all three gems, and the fire on the pedestal ahead will go out. Take the SETH KEY. The entrance door will close and three doors around the room will open. Three Apises will enter the room, with their mighty hammers. Either eliminate them with red shells or Revolver or hit each of them with a poison arrow and evade their attacks until they die of poison. Whichever strategy you choose, make sure not to fall into the quicksand as you evade their hammers. Once they’re dead, the door on the upper level will open. In the three side rooms you’ll find 3xSS. Jump to grab any of the two blue vertical poles, climb up and back flip onto the upper level. Go through the open door and out into the Courtyard. Two Centaurs will attack as you re-enter the Courtyard. Kill them as described above and pick up the goodies from their caves.
THE CHALLENGE OF SETH
THROUGH THE BLADES: Unlock the Chambers of Seth with the key you found in the Chambers of Apis. You have to swing about the horizontal poles around the room, timing your jumps when the circular wall blades retract (counterclockwise). When you get to the button, press it to open the door behind Lara. Climb down the ladder to the lower level. Here some horizontal knives pop out of the right-hand wall. The best strategy here is to time your RJ as one knife approaches Lara, to jump over the knife, and then immediately jump again to avoid it and get to the corner, where it’s safe. Repeat the same for the second knife. When you approach the third knife, a different approach is necessary. One strategy to get through is to start running when the knife is about to retract, steering Lara just a bit to the left as she runs. Then jump while running a bit diagonally to the left, to grab a crevice in the pillar ahead. Shimmy around the corner until you can climb up into an alcove. Run off out of this alcove diagonally to land on the broken pillar below. Drop to hang from this pillar, drop to grab the crevice below, and shimmy to the right and around the corner, where you can drop into the passage below. Another set of jumps through circular traps awaits. You have to RJ with grab to the next ledge when the nearest circular blade retracts, counterclockwise around the room, until you reach the door with a button. Of course, try not to fall into the quicksand around the central pyramid. Press the button to open the door and enter the Chamber of Seth.
CHAMBER OF SETH: Make sure to save your game as you enter. A diary entry
will inform you that Seth is immortal
and that you need help from Isis if you want to defeat him. This means that you
must find two Isis Knots, so that Isis can tie down Seth to the matter and make
him mortal. Avoid his fireballs and blue rays by flipping sideways or
sprinting/running around the room, but make sure not to fall off the edges into
the quicksand below, or through two holes in
the middle of the platform, as the fall will kill Lara. 2xSS can be found near the skeletons on the left, and in case
you run out of shells, they will re-appear here, so have that in mind.
As you avoid Seth’s attacks, locate two pushable golden pyramids. Move them both aside and use the Pickaxe (Crowbar) in two slots where you found these two golden pyramids, in both cases facing their respective doors (left-hand slot facing S, right-hand slot facing N). The double doors will open, and two giant spiders will attack in each case. Eliminate them with the revolver or red shells, at the same time avoiding Seth attacks. Now you can push/pull the two golden pyramids across the deactivated burners and through the holes in the floor. NOTE: Lara is partially immune to Seth’s attacks as she pushes or pulls the golden pyramids, but she’s still vulnerable, so be quick and efficient. Once both golden pyramids are on the lower level, run toward the giant Seth statue, where you see a huge statue of goddess Isis. RJ across the pit into Seth’s lap and note two receptacles behind Isis. RJ from the right arm of Seth (to the left of Isis) a bit diagonally, into the corner of the room, with ladders. Climb down the ladder and RJ diagonally onto Seth’s right foot.
ISIS KNOTS: SJ to grab the pole, swing about it and jump onto the central ledge with two golden pyramids. Push/pull these pyramids onto the marked tiles under two double hammers, and then use the FL to break the golden pyramids with the hammers. Pick up 2 x ISIS KNOT. Make your way back to Seth’s feet via the parallel bar and RJ diagonally into the SW corner. Go up the ladder, then again up the next ladder. RJ diagonally from here onto Seth’s right arm and place two Isis Knots into their receptacles behind Isis. In the flyby you’ll see rays coming out of Isis’s crown and hitting Seth. Remember: Seth is vulnerable only while these rays are hitting him (as long as he walks and not flies or shoots). RJ back onto the central ledge with Seth. Evade his attacks if necessary and wait for the next rays of Isis to hit Seth. Prepare the Revolver or Shotgun (red shells). When the rays of Isis hit Seth again, shoot at him from the Revolver (if he walks) and kill him with one or maximum two Revolver bullets. If he flies while the rays of Isis hit him, evade his attacks and wait for a better moment, because you don’t want to waste the Revolver ammo or red shells.
KEY TO HAMUNAPTRA: Once Seth is dead, climb back down where you used the lever and hammers, use two WLs on the pillars to raise two blocks in the quicksand and use them to reach the scribe statue, where you’ll find the KEY TO HAMUNAPTRA. Make your way back to the upper level once again and leave through the door SE. Open another door with the button and proceed to the next wider corridor. Open the gate here with the button to the left and drop into a deep shaft with sand.
DEEP SHAFT WITH RISING SAND: Press the button here to start the “sand pumps”. The sand will slowly be pumped into this room, and the sand level below Lara’s feet will start to rise soon. First, you’ll think that nothing has happened. Just be patient. A few seconds after having pressed the button, a rotating knife will appear on the floor. The best strategy here is to go after it, slowly, as it rotates across the floor. Another rotating knife will also pop out, so remain as close to the wall as possible as you go around the room, following one of these knifes (clockwise). The level of the sand beneath Lara will start to rise, and two more rotating knives will appear. Just apply the same strategy as the level of the sand rises. Eventually, all four knives will retract. Don’t try to climb into the opening from this room while the sand level is still rising (this is an elevator, too, and elevators in the Editor are also hazards). Either wait for the level of the sand to stop rising (for the elevator to stop) or jump into the opening slightly before the elevator stops. Open the door with the button and re-enter the Courtyard. Eliminate two Centaurs that attack and explore their cages for goodies.
WE HAVE THE BOOK OF THE DEAD
ACROSS THE QUICKSAND: To the left and right of the giant ankh in the Courtyard, you’ll see two gongs with Eyes of Horus painted on them. Use the Bow or Revolver with the Laser sight to hit both gongs and open two doors in the side passages to the left and right. Use the Golden Scarab in both these passages to disable the spikes, and make sure to pick up the Golden Scarab after every use. Pull two levers in these side passages to raise two blocks in the central room above the quicksand. Go back out to the Courtyard and use the button to the left of the central gate (below the ankh) to open it and enter. Carefully jump onto the first raised block, then RJ with Grab to the next raised block, and SJ with Grab to climb onto the ledge in front of the last gate. In the Inventory, combine the Book with the Key to Hamunaptra to get the BOOK OF THE DEAD. Place this item on the receptacle to the left to open the gate and enter the final arena. If you have grenades and flares in your Inventory, you can craft explosive arrows before you enter.
FINAL BATTLE: To put it simple: there’s no need to save the ammo once you enter this room. Just use everything you have and don’t worry: you won’t run out of ammo. There are RB and SS to be found in the near left corner, and if you run out of bullets or red shells during this battle, both items will re-appear as many times as you want. Use Revolver to eliminate the dogs as they attack, explosive arrows to eliminate the harpies above, Revolver bullets to eliminate giant spiders, red shells to eliminate the highpriests. Of course, you can opt for different ammo for different enemies here, whichever works best for you. In total, there are six dogs, eight harpies, two giant spiders and at the end, two highpriests. Once they’re all dead, the door N will open. Enter and take the TREASURE MAP. Exit through the door S and jump across the raised block as you did the first time.
FINISH: Once you are back into the Courtyard, run/sprint straight ahead (S) toward the gate that has opened in the meantime. A local is waiting for Lara next to a helicopter, ready to take her back to Jonah and the Village. Lara beat Trinity to the punch, the map to the Hidden Knowledge is in her hands now, she wants to decipher the map and find the Hidden Knowledge before Trinity, but in her next adventure. The game is dedicated to the member of our community, Gerty, who died in 2024, and who will be dearly missed by everyone.
