Choose your outfit and start the game. As the level begins you're informed that your primary mission here is to find 10 gold eggs and 30 purple eggs, and you have the option of using the "Sound Hints ON" device for assistance if you like (a cricket chirp signifies that you're getting close to an egg). Run between the two buildings and around the corner to an oblivious dude seated near a LETTER FROM CINDY. Endure a long game-pausing conversation as the EGG HUNT DIARY providing all that information and more is added to your inventory. 

You may have heard the sound of a trap door opening while you were waiting. When camera control is restored, turn toward the nearby pond, find the opened trap door in the water and swim along the passage to find the HOUSE KEY. Return and pause for a brief conversation with Kurtis before opening the back door with your key. Enter the den and open the N doors leading to the foyer. Go across and open the NE doors to the dining room. Grab the GARDEN KEY from the table against the N wall, exit the house and run S to open the gate to the garden as a tablet entry regarding daffodils is added.

A rope is hanging from the tree to your right. Stand below it facing the gazebo, jump up to grab it, swing and jump off to land on top of the gazebo for a PURPLE EGG (1 of 30). Drop to the ground, hop down toward the grazing sheep and pull up onto the wall near the NE corner. Hop over the fence, head N along the walkway and find another PURPLE EGG (2 of 30) just past the flower garden. Return to the sheep pasture (you can vault over the fence by using just the action key), pull up to the gazebo and run past the rope into a partially enclosed area for a small medipack on your left. Continue W toward the greenhouse and find a well-hidden crawl space at the SE corner. Enter for a PURPLE EGG (3 of 30) and return to the greenhouse. Stand in front of the blue and green beach ball facing the greenhouse, press the action and up arrow keys and Lara will kick the ball to shatter a glass panel.

Step inside and Lara will look at an empty BUCKET (I had to stoop to pick it up). Exit the greenhouse and continue N to an outdoor pool area. Lara will look left at the BEDROOM KEY (screen shot). Fill your bucket in one of the shallow pools. There are four wall switches, two on this side and two on the other side. Pull down the two on the N side and only the far one on the S side. A block moves aside near the bench with the key to reveal a GOLD EGG (1 of 10). Return to the main house past the greenhouse and the gazebo, go through the den to the foyer and left up two flights of stairs and turn right to find a keyhole for the Bedroom Key. Enter the bedroom and vault up onto the bed for the PISTOLS. The chest beside the bed is empty, so open the door to the balcony, step out and shoot the small container for the POOL KEY (cut scene).

Exit the bedroom, loop around right in the hallway and open the doors to another bedroom. Shoot the chest to your left as you enter for a PURPLE EGG (4 of 30), go back downstairs to the foyer and push the SE button to open the doors to the kitchen. Shoot the container at the NE corner and pick up a large medipack. Exit, run W past the stairs and use the Pool Key to open the door ahead. Enter the elaborate atrium/pool and run around a bit to trigger a cut scene alerting you to a nearby jumpswitch. But first, climb up onto the high diving board, take a running jump to grab the suspended platform, pull up and take another running jump to grab a higher platform bearing a PURPLE EGG (5 of 30). Drop into the pool, pull out and locate the pushblock at the NW corner. Pull it out so you can use it to access the higher platform.

Face S, jump up to grab the ceiling and monkey swing toward the jumpswitch you saw in the cut scene. Activate it to lower a block in the wall behind you and enter the passage to find a chain. Pull it several times to lower a third suspended platform, go around and use the pushblock once again to access the upper platform and take a running jump E onto the lowered platform. Continue with another running jump to the corner platform and pull the chain to lower a block in the E wall. Drop to the floor and run forward for a GOLD EGG (2 of 10). Run to the S end of the pool and push the wall button to open the door to a rose garden (I won't keep mentioning the new tablet entries). Take the ROSE GARDEN KEY (cut scene) from the plinth Lara is looking at and pull down the E wall switch to open several gates that create short cuts to areas you've already explored.

Exit via the SW gate, turn right at the greenhouse and enter the tennis court. Go to the NW corner for a PURPLE EGG (6 of 30) and open the NE gate with the Rose Garden Key. Enter, note the keyhole ahead and follow the brick walkway W to a lower area. Lara looks at a sign in the gazebo, so step on the central square for a neat "Jack and the Beanstalk" effect. Face S, climb the beanstalk and jump off to activate the jumpswitch and lower a block ahead. Go through the opening and loop around left until you come to a GOLD EGG (3 of 10). Return to the gazebo and find two pushblocks in the N wall. Push the one on the left two times to reveal a passage, go around to the back side of the other pushblock (noting a third pushblock to your left) and push it one time S onto the brick walkway. Go around, pull that block away from the steps and go in to pull the third pushblock two times.

Go around again and past the revealed NE opening to a lavender garden with a plinth bearing the FLOWER PUZZLE KEY (cut scene of the keyhole you noted earlier). Exit to the lower rose garden, continue E to the upper rose garden and use your key to raise blocks (or trap doors, makes no difference) in the trench to your left. Note the three symbols on the wall buttons and press the rose, lavender and daffodil buttons in that order to lift the N gate to your left. Enter a small fountain room, take the GOLD EGG (4 of 10) from the top of the fountain and pull out of the water. Go through the E opening to a vegetable garden and pull down the wall switch to open another short cut gate.

Continue all the way E to Kurtis and find him to be in a more talkative mood. Enter the den, turn left and shoot the container for a small medipack. Go to the E side of the den and open the doors (if you didn't do so earlier) to an office. Enter and shoot the N windows, vault up onto the ledge for the FRONT DOOR KEY (cut scene) and exit to the den. Turn right into the foyer and use the NW keyhole you noted earlier to open the door to your right. Go outside and loop around left to shoot a trash can for a small medipack. Head N toward Main Street and open the doors to the Patisserie where a few folks are enjoying breakfast.

Approach the far table for another game-pausing conversation that provides no helpful information, go to the counter for a small medipack and exit to Main Street. Use the reach-in switch at the base of the horse statue for a clue, which is the number 23. Turn right, pull up onto the corner crate and jump up W to grab the roof. Shimmy right around the corner to a jumpswitch, release to activate it and open the W gates below. Enter and loop around left at the telephone booth. Locate a gap in the railing, drop down and crawl W to a PURPLE EGG (7 of 30). Return, jump into the canal just past the telephone booth and swim N until you reach another PURPLE EGG (8 of 30). Go back a bit, pull out W and look left for a reach-in switch that opens gates elsewhere.

Go across the street to the post office, pull up into the left window for flares and go back S and E to Main Street. Continue past the horse statue to a fountain and use the reach-in switch on the back side of the fountain base for another clue as water gushes out to soak your outfit. Head N down the street, look left at the manhole cover for a trash can in an alcove and shoot it for a PURPLE EGG (9 of 30).  Continue N to an outdoor seating area, open the doors to your left and enter a tavern tended by Winston. Shoot the wall painting behind the table occupied by three patrons and stand at an angle to collect the revealed PURPLE EGG (10 of 30) and elicit a word of protest from the seated lady.

Go around the table and up the SW steps past a button (for later) into the E game room and hop onto the pool table for a PURPLE EGG (11 of 30). Exit to the hallway and open the N door to a bedroom. Shoot the container against the window for flares and exit. Go back downstairs and push the button to open a window to the outdoor patio. Use the high spot to pull W onto the hedge and drop down the other side. Grab the small medipack from the table, go to the SE corner and pull back up onto the hedge. Drop down the other side next to a portable police box and find a PURPLE EGG (12 of 30) on a nearby plinth. Use the police box to get back onto the hedge and head E past the pigeons. Take a running jump SE to grab the sill of an open window.

Pull up, enter a bedroom and Lara will look at the VILLAGE GREEN GATE KEY (cut scene) on the round table. Exit S and loop around left to pull down a disguised wall switch. A door to your left opens, allowing entry to a small bedroom for a PURPLE EGG (13 of 30). Return to the previous bedroom, jump from the open window back to the hedge and follow it W past the police box. Drop down the other side onto a sidewalk of Main Street. Go up N toward the church and open the gates to your right with the key. Go on through, turn left and run past the church to the short hedge. Pull up over it and go to a small red building. Open the door and shoot the container inside for a PURPLE EGG (14 of 30). Exit, turn left and go E down the steps past a couple of parked cars. Pull up onto the hedge that overlooks an idyllic lake and hop down onto the wooden walkway.

Go around for flares and jump into the water. Swim S past the paddle wheel and continue into the opening near a grate. Light a flare so you can find the underwater lever on your left that lowers the grate. Go there and swim down the floor hole for a GOLD EGG (5 of 10). Return to the wooden walkway, pull out and loop left around the boathouse to find a trash can you can shoot for a PURPLE EGG (15 of 30). Continue S and E along the street, pull up right onto the ledge and up onto the hedge. Drop down the other side near the pigeons onto a ledge and hop down E. Follow to an enclosed courtyard where you'll find a PURPLE EGG (16 of 30) in the planter. Return to the hedge, run along it W past the tree and drop down left for a PURPLE EGG (17 of 30). Pull back up onto the hedge, drop down on the N side and go to the wall switch you undoubtedly noted after shooting the trash can.

Pull it down to open the S gates for later, turn around and use the reach-in switch on the cross statue base. Your next stop is the graveyard, so turn right and run NW up the grassy hill toward a brick wall and a hedge. Climb over the hedge and go to the NW corner of the church building. Pull down the wall switch to open the gate to the graveyard and loop all the way around left to find a PURPLE EGG (18 of 30) near the cherry blossom tree. Go back to Mum's headstone near the tree at the NW corner and look behind it for another PURPLE EGG (19 of 30). From that headstone, head E, pull up onto the monument block and stand slightly SE to activate the jumpswitch on the church wall. Your next stop is the vicarage, so exit E, climb over the hedge next to the tree and run past the small red building and down the steps.

Turn left at the green car and use the reach-in switch to acquire the CHURCH KEY (cut scene). Go back the way you came, enter the graveyard and turn left just past the short fence, Follow the walkway past four columns, stand against the fifth column, jump up to grab the crack and shimmy left around the corner to activate a jumpswitch that lowers blocks next to the short fence near the entrance. Go back past the columns, turn right at the corner and drop down to the lowered blocks. Enter the basement of the church, note the strange floating dots and loop around right for a GOLD EGG (6 of 10). Return, use the ladder to climb back out and go around to the front of the church building. Use the Church Key to open the doors and enter the sanctuary.

Approach the altar to learn that this is where you'll need to place your eggs when you've collected enough of them (you need at least 20 purple eggs and all 10 gold eggs). Go back and pull down the wall switch to open the E doors for an alternate exit, but you're not through here yet. Go to the SE window and jump up to grab the column crack. Pull up at the wall, turn around and take a running jump to grab the higher crack on the next column. Shimmy left around the corner, pull up onto the ledge and take a running jump W to land on the balcony. Step forward for the CASTLE KEY (cut scene of outdoor gates). Turn left, go to the wall and hop up over the railing into the S alcove. Pull down the wall switch to lower a rope, jump to grab it and a block lowers next to the N stained glass window.

Swing and jump to land on the balcony, make your way over to the lowered block and pick up the GOLD EGG (7 of 10). Drop to the floor, exit S and go to the SW corner to open the gates with the Castle Key. Go on through for a nice view of the castle ruins and the spacious countryside. Approach the castle to spook a rabbit (but not a white one as in Alice in Wonderland) and Lara wonders out loud where it was going. But first, go the other way S, toward that farmhouse in the distance. There's a PURPLE EGG (20 of 30) in the small fountain. Hop up left and climb onto the hedge next to the rose bush. Drop down the other side into a courtyard and hop S over the fence for another PURPLE EGG (21 of 30).

Use the W ledge to climb back onto the hedge, follow N past the tree and drop down E into the back yard of a grumpy fellow who objects to trespassers. There's nothing to do here, so climb back onto the hedge and continue N to drop into a more substantial back yard. Go around to the swimming pool and dive in for a PURPLE EGG (22 of 30). Return and use the high spot at the rose bush to pull back onto the hedge. Look SW and you can see something purplish on the ground in the distance. Drop down and run there for another PURPLE EGG (23 of 30) next to a fearless chicken. From there, head W past a stone wall to find another PURPLE EGG (24 of 30) among the daffodils near a woodshed.

Now it's time to explore those castle ruins. Run N up the hill toward the ramparts and look to your right for a PURPLE EGG (25 of 30) near a raised slab. Loop left around the main building and come to a courtyard. Step on a trigger tile at the NW corner and a floor trap door opens behind you. But first, pick up the small medipack at your feet and engage in a little climbing exercise for another pickup. Pull up S onto the lower section of the wall, pull up higher right and take a running jump NW into the window alcove. Hang from the edge, shimmy right along the wall crack to the third window alcove, pull up and stand jump NE into the adjacent window alcove. Pull up onto the corner block, stand jump SW to grab a higher block and pull up left into a window alcove. Take a running jump NW with grab to land inside another window alcove (a little tricky, so best to save first) for a PURPLE EGG (26 of 30) and make your way back down to the ground.

For one additional pickup, go E to the short block on the left, pull up onto it and jump to grab the taller adjacent block. Shimmy right around the corner so you can pull up onto a flat spot. Jump W onto the jutting column and take a curved running jump slightly NW into the middle window alcove for a PURPLE EGG (27 of 30). Safety drop to the ground and locate the central floor hole. Drop into a lower room with those strange floating dots and the overhead trap door swings back shut. Grab the nearby flares and pull down the wall switch in the N alcove (cut scene). Reverse roll and run across the room into the S passage. Continue past a closed gate and down some steps until you reach a deep chamber. Go down to the bottom, noting the gold egg beyond the metal bars, and shoot the container to reveal a pile of TORCHES. Grab one and go up the winding steps to the very top.

From the penultimate step, save and stand jump SW to land inside a window alcove with a burning wall sconce. If you miss, you should land safely on the block below, from which you can hop up into the alcove. Either way, light the torch, run off onto the block and jump over to the steps. Go up, exit N and continue to the previous room past the closed gate. Drop your torch where you can find it easily and go to the SW alcove. Pull the pushblock one time, go around into the NW opening (note the keyhole), loop around left and crawl through the passage to the pushblock. Push it one time into the room, go around again and pull the block two times undeneath the higher wall sconce. Retrieve the torch, hop onto the pushblock and light the upper sconce, hop down right and light the two lower sconces on the N side of the pushblock.

The E gate opens in the S passage, so go there and loop around left into a room where Lara looks down at another CASTLE KEY. Pick it up, return to the previous room and insert the key in the keyhole to lift the gate around the corner to your left. Go there and jump into the water down below. Swim through the S opening into another room, loop around right and pull out next to a W opening that overlooks a floral-covered forested area. Hop down onto the tree stump and from there to the ground. Jump up N and loop around right to find a floor lever that raises trap doors to close gaps in the monkey bars spanning the forested area. However, you have more work to do before you can use them.

Return and run S all the way to the other end of the swampy area. Along the way you'll trigger a series of screen shots.  When you reach the S slope, look left for a higher opening. Enter and crawl through to the other end. Flip out and take a running jump up SE onto the branch. Take another running jump to the NE tree limb and jump over E to the limb with a PURPLE EGG (28 of 30). Drop down near an opening in the N tree trunk. Pull inside, crawl through and flip out into a floor hole. Pull up E and back flip into an alcove with another PURPLE EGG (29 of 30). Go back the way you came through the crawl space, drop down into the shallow water and head SW to the tree stump. Pull up into the W crawl space and return to the forested area.

Take a few steps to the fallen tree and look right for a pushblock in the E tree. Pull it one time to reveal an opening with a floor lever that raises another trap door in the monkey bar gap. Run across the forested area to the northernmost tree, go around to the W side and push the block in the trunk one time. Go around, climb onto the pushblock and jump up to grab the monkey bars. Monkey swing along the tracks and you'll see that one more trap door ahead needs to be raised. Turn left in front of it and drop down onto a ledge. Run forward and push the block over the edge to reveal a wall switch that raises a trap door ahead and to your left. Take a running jump onto it and hop into the adjacent alcove. Go around the corner for a GOLD EGG (8 of 10).

Return to the raised trap door, stand jump to grab the wall crack and shimmy left around the corner. Pull up onto a ledge, reverse roll, pick up the large medipack and take a running jump to grab a tree limb. Pull up for a PURPLE EGG (30 of 30) and drop into the water. Swim NW, wade out and pull up into the familiar W opening. Return to the N floor lever you first pushed and push it back to its original position. Some trap doors again fall, but you don't need those now. Return to the previous opening, go on through E and hop down the other side. Jump to the pushblock, go through the W passage and take a running jump past the lowered trap door to grab a higher tree limb. Pull up and go around left to claim a GOLD EGG (9 of 10). Go back, stand jump E onto the short limb, grab the edge, drop to grab the lower ledge and safety drop to the ground.

Go NW to the floor lever you exposed by moving the pushblock, push it back to its original position and trap doors will again close. Go through the nearby E opening once again, jump right to the pushblock and through the W passage, but this time jump up to grab the monkey bars and follow the track quite a long distance until you reach the end and drop in front of a ledge you saw earlier from the other side. Pull up for the final GOLD EGG (10 of 10) and go back through the primeval forest to the E opening near the tree trunk pushblock. Go on through and pull up onto the N ledge to your left. Pull down the wall switch you may or may not have noticed earlier to lower the trap door that enables your way out of here. Jump down into the water, swim through the N opening and go to the vine ladder just to the left of the waterfall. Mount up with the action key and climb up to a ledge.

Reverse roll, take a running jump across the gap and enter the dark S passage. Turn left into a familiar room, hop onto the block and jump W to grab the ladder. Climb up to the castle courtyard and run E toward the church building. As you near the stone wall, turn right and go past the opened SE gates into the graveyard. Enter the sanctuary and go N past the altar and dump your collected eggs into the two baskets for some pleasant concluding banter shared among Lara and her buddies. Enjoy the end credits, including an AI disclaimer (an inevitable sign of the times, I guess).
