The Great Pyramids at Giza have held a fascination with mankind for thousands of years; literally millions have speculated on their origins, and theories of the pyramids' origins range from having been built by an ancient civilization that predates our known history by tens of thousands of years (The peoples of Atlantis?) to having been built by an extraterrestrial alien culture. Along with speculations about their origins have come, of course, speculations about their function and technology. What is the significance of the Sphinx? What is the significance, if any, of the placement of the pyramids in relation to one another, and in relation to both the heavens and the earth's terrain? How is it possible that a civilization that thrived thousands of years B.C. possessed the knowledge and the technology to conceive and construct such massive structures, on such a grand scale, that have withstood thousands upon thousands of years of harsh desert elemental assaults?
