Reviewer's comments
"15 minutes raid which is better played without any music or sounds. It looks challenging but in fact it just seems to appear such, for none of the tasks are very hard. You have only the pistols. Enemies are used to stress the player and drain his life, but as the game does not last long it is not a problem and you can get 2 medipacks and that is quite sufficient, and it is useless to kill some of the enemies. Killing the 4 demigods at the end was not very exciting you just go where they are all gathered and kill them one by one in crouching position. I like the room with the 3 harpies and the one skeleton , also the challenge at the deep pool with the many sinks is extremely well done. None of this is very fun by itself but the challenge is yours." - eRIC (27-Mar-2021)
"To be perfectly honest, this adventure is a little lower in score in comparison with the previous publish of the same author. The game differed in terms of gameplay, enemies, atmosphere and the use of textures. But, on the bright side, this one was extremely dramatic. As soon as you start this game, you have to do your best to save Ms. Croft from being sliced by the harsh traps. Have fun! Thanks!" - Mehrbod (13-Aug-2019)
"If you reckon you're in need to brush up on Lara's athletic abilities, then you're in the right place. This level is basically one challenge or trap sequence after another and it never eases off for the entire duration. There's spike traps, tense enemy encounters, a neat little whirlpool effect and a nerve racking boss battle against four demigods. With regards to lighting and texturing... yes, I suppose I could grade it, not that I had any respite to look at it properly. I could have done with more powerful ammo for the harder enemies, although I've seen them used in worse ways than here and the looping action music used seems to be the standard for levels like this. Good one if you're up for a challenge." - Ryan (15-Jan-2018)
"Many traps and enemies await you in this action packed level. In the majority there are spike traps. I liked the pool that sent Lara down and up, though it was a bit hard to get out of it. There is a final battle that resembles the one with Tony from TR3. The bad thing is that you only get the pistols (or maybe I didn't find another weapon) and it takes some time to kill the enemies." - alan (24-Oct-2017)
"Whoooeee. This isn't a long level by any means, but it certainly packs in a lot of action whilst it lasts. It's pretty much non-stop traps and enemies and Lara certainly doesn't get time to admire the scenery, which is a shame as it's rather good. Skeletons, harpies and demigods - all have to be taken care of with pistols so obviously running away is a fairly good option. There's a most peculiar sequence where Lara has to pick up an artefact from the bottom of a pool and keeps bouncing up and down. I have no idea just how the effect was achieved, but it really took some patience to get the damn thing. The boss ending with three demigods probably would have seemed quite challenging in 2001, but with the benefit of 'tips and tricks' now just feels a bit tedious. Good little level though if you're looking for something to wake you up!" - Jay (30-May-2015)
"This is a short but very intense level; from the moment you slide down the ramp at the beginning you'll have no time to take a breath. Dangerous rooms full of traps and enemies await you, and sometimes it's better to run/sprint to avoid the enemies even if you can shoot them (no gun to blast the skeletons) so you can keep the few medipacks you have in your backpack. Not during the game, but at the end the author could provide a heavy weapon to deal with the demigods, 'cause it's not funny to use the crouch-trick to shoot them with the pistols for a long time. If you're looking for action and danger, it's a good level for you." - Jose (30-Apr-2015)
"An extraordinary challenging level and as the title says "Ultimate Test" is just that, like a final exam from the two previous levels by the same author. The level itself is rather short but it keeps you with constant adrelanine as another reviewer recalls, everything happens so fast! I loved the textures and lighting as well as the environmental settings. Hope to play more levels from this author" - Gonxii (27-Sep-2013)
"As the title shows this is just a short test level, there weren't any secrets, but don't let that fool you, this level does offer challenges, especially in no-medi gameplay. There are a some skill testing jumps, but fights are the main issue here, we've given a glimpse of the author's devious placement of enemies, what we can expect on his later levels. To fight harpies while poisoned darts flying by, and undestroyable skeletons crowding around, since we have pistols only. The four demigods at the end are just the cherry on top. I liked it." - Akcy (29-Mar-2007)
"It's rather difficult to rate this level because while it was certainly enjoyable and challenging for the time it lasted it seemed to end much too quickly. I played the level late (10/04) for the purpose of writing the walkthrough and I found it to be quite linear and straightforward. The only thing I found really annoying was the 'boy have you got trouble' theme music that played continuously throughout the level. Emoo is one of the more talented builders around and I've enjoyed the fruit of his creative mind. I hope he has still more levels he plans to share with the community. Recommended as a quicker picker upper." - Phil (05-Oct-2004)
"Well that made my heart beat a lot faster as this is very fast paced and also gives you an adrenaline rush you won't encounter in many levels. Finding only small medipacks this will have you reload as you will die and also to conserve Lara's health. It starts right away and it won't let up till you slay 4 demigods and get the 3 pillars they guard. The jumps in here are really fun to do and at every step Lara made I expected spikes to pop up. And that they do as you have to either outrun them or plainly hop past them. There are also harpies and with some skeletons they can make your life pretty miserable. Have fun. 26-01-2004" - Gerty (01-Feb-2004)
"If you want a quick tense headache-inducing blast then this is the level for you. I was a bit stumped when asked to grade 'lighting and textures' as I never really had an opportunity to study them properly but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. As for the rest you run and jump and shoot and run and jump for around 20 minutes. This may seem tricky to some but us veterans of 'Run Lara Run!' found it all a bit of a doddle by comparison. Fun (in a teeth-gnashing sort of way) nonetheless." - Orbit Dream (12-Nov-2003)
“A very short level fifteen minutes with a lot of enemies and little to do. There are harpies skeletons demigods and pillars to find along with a gem. Also you have to pass spike traps and flip a couple of jump switches. That's it very few rooms with some having paper thin walls. Not the author's best level." - Kristina (09-Sep-2003)
"Not sure what Emoo wanted to accomplish here but I did not like it very much. Right at the start Lara is being shot at by a demigod. Further on there are numerous traps. Those were ok and well manageable but I hated those enemies at the end. Make sure you find as many medipacks as you can - you will need them and you need to know your enemies to make it. Textures were cleanly applied but the level was rather short. Seems more like a test level ;-)" - Engelchen Lara (20-Jan-2003)
"Some people might need to take their heart medication before they start this one because it's full of action with hardly a moment to stop and breathe. You'll find difficult jumps over lava or spikes rope swings spikes to run over or monkey swing over poison darts jump switches and what I thought was a cool puzzle to get the effigy out of a pool of water. Besides all these things you'll find lots of enemies including harpies skeletons and demigods and the only weapons you'll have are the pistols. I guess I don't need to tell you to save as often as you can." - RaiderGirl (18-Jan-2003)
"This is a very short level. There are lots of spike traps on your way skeletons harpys demigods and only one or two small medipacks but no weapons. So you'll be rather breathless when you finally reach the end after 20 minutes. Too short I would have expected more of a download of 6.6 MB. That 'all time bike sound' was even awful." - Sheevah (11-Aug-2002)
"If you're looking for adrenalin filled level then check this 20 minutes one out. With demigods skeletons deadly golden birds and spikes coming thick and fast you don't get much time to think about your next move all I can say is run jump and shoot and try not to get too hurt as you'll need all the medipacks you can find and that ain't that many!" - Sash (21-Jun-2002)
"Well as Sash and Tombaholic say adrenalin is high up for the 20 minutes this level lasts - once you actually get into it as the initial sequence of jumps and a rope while being under fire from a demigod took me a few attempts to master. Further on you battle banshees and skeletons more demigods and there are a few spike puzzles to manage as well - and all with your beloved pistols. I thought the sink puzzle was a nice effect and would really recommend this brief level if you are into some high pitched action." - Michael (21-Jun-2002)
"This level surely is the best action level ever! Right after the initial slide you have to be quick! VERY quick! NEVER stop to think because you have to run run and run away!! Uncountable enemies few firepower. Just with your pistols you have to go through hundreds of enemies. My warning is don't fight the 'weaker' enemies as they will take your life away. Keep your few medipacks for the final battle with four demigods in a deadly arena (that reminds of the TR3 Temple Of Puna). Worth a download if you don't want to find puzzles. When Lara got home from this level she must have thought her newest artifact was her life (LOL)!" - Treeble (21-Jun-2002)
"This is not a traditional TR level as much as 15 minutes hair-raising attempt at survival. With the exception of a very irritating pool puzzle the action is fast and furious if a little bit overboard. Facing a gauntlet of skeletons poison griffins and innumerable poison darts with a useless set of pistols and a woefully inadequate supply of medipacks only leads up to a lava room full of angry demigods at the end. If there are any more powerful weapons to be had I didn't find them (not the first time I missed something in a level). I didn't quite know how to rate this level according to the standard 4 criteria but my overall impression was "6" so that's what I gave it. It's worth a go for the adrenaline rush at least." - Tombaholic (21-Jun-2002)
"This is short but intense. If it only had been a bit longer it would be a classic at least as far as the pace and the use of enemies is concerned. Notable in this one is that you are rarely attacked by just one foe but at the end there are three skeletons and four (I think but I didn't really sit down to count them) banshees in hot pursuit all the while you're running through a gauntlet of poisonous darts and have to time a run through the spikes. In the course of the 30 minutes it took me to complete this I got more adrenaline rushes than I usually get in your common three hour adventure. I played so many mediocre levels recently I almost forgot what the real thing feels like. Hopefully one day some will manage to keep up such a fantastic gameplay over two hours or more. If you're looking for a good thrill go for this one." - Dimpfelmoser (21-Jun-2002)
